Vulcano Gelato Rye

Disappointed with the value for money. Paying almost $20 for 3 small scoops, I expected a properly filled takeaway tub, but it was noticeably underfilled. For the price, the portion size just didn’t match expectations. Hopefully this can be improved.

Hands down the best Gelato on the peninsula. The variety of flavours is plentiful and the taste and texture is delicious. There’s always a queue to get in but there’s plenty of staff to serve you to keep up with the demand. Therefore the wait time isn’t too bad. Well done for not only providing great gelato but great service too. Highly recommend this place

They have a huge range of flavors and happily offer tastings, so you know exactly what you're getting. ​The quality is exceptional - it tastes like real, premium ingredients, not artificial or fake. Easily some of the best ice cream around!

Got the choc dipped strawberries and they definately don’t look like they do in the pictures Advertised on their front door!! Shame because this place has so many good reviews - perhaps I just got there late and they ran out of chocolate! (Which they did) The only reason I gave 3 stars is because it did taste good. Just not worth what we paid.

The ice cream itself was okay, and while the prices aren’t cheap, they’re understandable given the location. However, the serving size was very disappointing. They give almost half the amount of ice cream compared to other ice cream shops. What made it worse is that they use a flat utensil instead of a proper curved scoop, so the ice cream is basically scraped around the rim of the cup, leaving the bottom almost empty. We ordered both a single scoop and a double scoop. The double scoop was literally the same size as a single scoop at most other stores, which felt very poor value for money. Overall, not worth the price, and we won’t be returning.

Ice creams expensive for small serves, plenty of options so 2 star. The older lady who works the till, was unbelievably rude towards young male worker when we were inside. He was simply having a conversation with a customer, while the customer was asking a lot of questions, the employee didn’t stop working while having a chat. No one lining up either. She belittled him in front of other customers. Appalling.

Good choice of flavours. Shop very warm, so advised get your ice-cream and go outside. Staff friendly. Ice cream tasty but melts a little quick

You can’t go to RYE without going to “Vulcano” it’s unheard of 🤭 (for any ice creamaholic anyway)… Situated in the Main Street directly across the road from the jetty, this Gelateria is in prime real estate 👌🏾 The service is always great, friendly & patient staff, happy to let you taste as many flavours as your heart desires. Plenty of flavours to choose from & they also serve Brioche & Granita & fresh Cannoli - what more could you ask for 🤌🏽 = just like being in Sicily 🇮🇹 Buonissimo! I opted for the Baileys & the taste of Sicily, both deliciously creamy & rich with flavours. Never disappoints 🍦

Heard so many great reviews about this place.. and I certainly was not disappointed! The place has heating.. so perfect for a winters day when you are craving great italian gelato! Flavours are amazing natural explosions you need to taste! I had the Hazelnut which I'll definitely be back for! A friend had the chocolate and mango which she smashed in no time. Met Marie and Vince who are the owners of this family run business! They've been here for 8yrs and are do friendly and passionate about all things gelato, cakes, crepes and even make their own doughnuts! Come check it out peeps - be warned.. lines are long in summer but this place will have you coming back for more!

Friendly service and good prices, paid $4 for a single scoop of the lemon gelato tasted great!
