Vuyani Safari Lodge (Moditlo Private Game Reserve, South Africa) 1 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"While many elements of the African safari have, for good reason, gone largely unchanged over the past few decades, the price tag accompanying the timeless travel experience has had little trouble keeping up with the times. The fortunate among us will recognize the familiar safari-lodge charms of the Vuyani — a private South African game reserve adjacent to a world-famous park (Kruger), two daily game drives led by expert local trackers, three over-the-top meals a day, accommodations that look rustic on the outside but contain such features as marble bathrooms within. Yet looking at the cost of a stay, we may think we’ve entered a time warp." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed in the Marula Vuyani lodge for 3 nights in total and had an absolutely amazing time! ||There were 6 of us in total and we all had our own bathrooms/toilets en-suite. It's a beautiful lodge with so much space. The beds and bedsheets were extremely comfortable.||The lodge is 100% in the bush, and you can't walk anywhere from the lodge as theres a real risk of animals, in fact we saw a bunch of animals walk right past us whilst we were in the pool! Mostly antelope, but the week before we arrived there were elephants walking past.||The standout mention has to go to the staff. Our chef was the highlight of the few days. Everything he cooked was to the highest of standards, made sure everyone was catered for and even hand wrote down the recipes for some of our favourites at the end of our stay. ||Our server also deserves an individual shout out (apologies, I've forgot his name), but he took every single drinks/food order with a smile and an infectious attitude. It really brightened our day.||Our guide Goodwin and tracker Calvin were fantastic and informative too.||There is only one piece of feedback to give, it would be even more special if the guides/trackers or even Webster the gentleman who stayed in the accommodation with us, would join the guests for dinner 1 night during the stay (or make it an optional thing). This is the only thing that lacked from alternative lodges we've stayed out - we find that the guides/trackers have some amazing stories and the game drives aren't often long enough to hear them all. It really offers a personal touch/experience to get to know them more too. But other than that, I couldn't fault it!

Stayed for 7 nights at Blue Canyon Vuyani lodge near Kruger Park (last week in October 2025) . 3 couples celebrating friends up and coming 60th birthday. Amazing experience from start to finish. Twice daily safaris and luxury accomodation. Our guide and spotter(Oyi and Chris) went out of their way to ensure we had an incredible adventure. Saw the big 5 within 3 days and learned so much about the animals and their habitat. Lodge staff all very friendly and attentive. Meals were top class. Chef made me dairy free options all week including a large dairy free birthday cake and anniversary cake for us. All staff went out of their way to make our time special. Rooms cleaned and stocked daily including turn down service before bed. Couldnt have asked for more.So many great memories. Would highly recommend.

Hard to describe how incredible our 5-night stay with Vuyani was. My family (me, my wife and 2 adult children) stayed in the Marula Villa. It was beautiful. 3 bedroom, 4 bath, kitchen, dining room, living room and an enormous deck with a pool. All of the rooms were spacious and well appointed. We went on 2 private safaris each day. The wildlife experiences were way beyond our expectations. We saw everything we came to see and then some. As great as the lodging and the safaris were the best part of our experience was the team of people that took care of us. They were all kind, caring and very friendly. Goodwill was our safari guide and Calvin our tracker/ assistant guide. We spent 6 hours a day with them and enjoyed every minute. They were friendly, very knowledgeable and worked hard to get us the experiences we were looking for. The time with them flew by whether it was watching the sunrise over the preserve or admiring the starlite skies on our way in after the afternoon drive. Thank you. The team in the villa was equally as awesome. Ephrem was our chef. He was in the kitchen all day preparing our meals filling the villa with incredible aromas and the food was outstanding. Everything was freshly made and delicious. Ntecko was there to assist us in all things and always met us with a huge smile and warm greetings. He was always there to make sure we were comfortable and wanted for nothing. He provided exceptional service. Faith was our housekeeper and provided services 3x per day. She was friendly and very helpful. The villa was always spotless. Another member of our team was also named Faith. She greeted us upon our return from our drives and arranged for us to go to the main lodge for peek. She also did a great job arranging an excursion for us to a waterfall and Blyde Canyon boat ride which was amazing. And last but not least was Webster. He was the manager of our team and made sure we were safe and sound and ensured our trip was a success. He had spent some time in our home state of Wisconsin and was eager to share stories of his experiences in the U.S. but also of Africa. We have been very blessed to travel to many incredible places, but this trip was hands down our favorite and we are hoping to return soon to this amazing place and see our new friends again!

Have been watching this place for many years and finally got opportunity to visit. It went beyond my expectations, absolutely amazing wildlife adventure. We were collected from Hoedspruit airport by a member of staff and quickly transferred to the lodge. Lodge was well appointed, clean and beautifully furnished. We were quickly checked in and had a brief orientation of the building and surrounds. Room was large and well appointed, big bed, plenty of wardrobe space and a bathroom housing both a walk in shower and full sized bath. We had no outdoor space unfortunately but very close by was pool with seats as an alternative. |There was a room a short distance away on an elevated walkway where you took breakfast and evening meals and also contained a shop. I really enjoyed the breakfast which was cooked to order and was always delicious, less so the evening meals which I found were not always to my taste but I never went hungry by any means. |The great assets of the lodge are the animals (some who came to visit close by) and the wonderful staff who could not do enough for you and who were unfailingly cheerful at all times. Special mention to Solly and Bebe our spotter and driver who went above and beyond in their search for animals, taking us into some really seemingly inaccessible spots in the bush and down steep bankings of water holes. Their determination to make our experience enjoyable was exemplary. |We had two game drives per day 6-9am and 4-7pm, stopping for coffee/sundowners in the bush was a surreal experience which I will never forget.|The conservancy is relatively small (about 10,000 hectares) but ample big enough to see every animal there including the big 5 all of which we saw. The other big advantage is that as soon as you leave the lodge you are on safari, there is no driving for an hour to get to a park and then queuing for a period of time to get in. If you want an exclusive safari experience and to see animals close up then this is the place to go. If you have opportunity to go on safari in South Africa then make sure you stay at this highly recommended lodge. Don’t miss it!

Wow, where do I even begin with our trip to Vuyani? This was our first safari, and the only word that comes close to describing it is incredible. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home - we were welcomed with a refreshing drink, a hot towel, a briefing, and then shown to our room.||We couldn’t wait to get out on our first drive, and from that moment on our minds were blown by the experience. We had Solly and Chris as our guide and tracker, and we absolutely adored them. They are such amazing people, we had such a laugh with them through the week and they are so incredibly knowledgeable. They went above and beyond to make sure we saw the Big Five, which we did by our second drive! We got close to the amazing animals while always keeping a respectful distance, and we learned so much about both the animals and the reserve itself.||Every drive was a thrill and we were excited to see what each one would bring! The lodge itself is stunning, and we were lucky enough to witness elephants wandering near the lodge one night. Other guests had seen giraffes drinking from the pool! Our room was spotless, and every member of the staff, from front of house to housekeeping, chefs, and waiters was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They genuinely made us feel at home.||We also did the picnic, which was fantastic, and the Panorama Tour, which offered breathtaking views of the mountains and a glimpse of local villages and towns. The Moloholo Rehab Centre is also worth a visit to see what incredible work they do over there. ||One of the other guests was on her fourth visit to Vuyani, which says everything about how special this place is. We’re already planning our next trip!||The staff and their hospitality make Vuyani unforgettable. Solly and Chris, we hope you read this and know that you made this trip absolutely unforgettable for us. And to the rest of the team, thank you - you made us feel so welcome, and we fell in love with this place.||Thank you for the time of our lives—we can’t wait to come back!||Leon & Sophie 🥰

Our family spent the most magical five nights and days at Vuyani. Everything was perfect from the level of care by the staff, the amazing food, and beautiful accommodation. The daily safari drives blew my mind. We saw the big five and so much more. Our tracker Chris and guide Uyai took incredible care of us and we learnt so much from them both. Vuyani and South Africa are now in the Aussie girl’s heart.
