I stayed for three nights in room 2605, and I can confidently say this was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had at a W Hotel. While the reservation process and communication with the booking agent were smooth, almost everything that followed fell short of expectations.|The hotel’s location in Abdali Boulevard is convenient, and the Petra-inspired design might sound interesting at first—but in reality, the narrow hallways and dim lighting throughout the property make the atmosphere feel claustrophobic rather than luxurious.|Upon arrival, I had to take an elevator to the 6th floor just to check in, and then another elevator to reach my room. Having to switch elevators every time I entered or exited was extremely inconvenient. The front desk agent (I believe her name was Ahlam) was polite and welcoming, but I found it strange that no one at the hotel wears a name badge. When I asked, I was told it’s a “W Hotels standard,” which is odd because I’ve stayed at other W locations in Europe where employees do wear name tags.|The elevators themselves felt unsafe—small mats that easily shift caused me and another guest to stumble more than once.|My room, a “Spectacular Room” on the 26th floor, was anything but spectacular. The design was cramped and awkward, the bed and pillows were uncomfortable, and there was a visible stain on the carpet that I had to avoid. The AC unit would turn back on automatically after being turned off, and the TV channels didn’t work properly very few channels were available, and none functioned as they should. This is basic information that should be communicated at check-in.|Breakfast at the hotel’s main restaurant, Mesh, offered some variety, but several items didn’t taste fresh. To make matters worse, a waitress removed my plate before I had finished eating rude and unprofessional behavior that shouldn’t happen at any hotel, let alone a W.|A guest relations representative mentioned that I would receive a feedback survey by email, but I never did.|Overall, this hotel completely failed to meet the W brand’s standards. Poor room quality, inconvenient design, untrained staff, and lack of attention to detail made my stay disappointing from start to finish. I truly wanted to like this hotel, but I left wishing I had stayed somewhere else.
