Classic local burger joint that's been a staple in kaimuki. Been coming here off and on for years. Simple burgers although their menu is confusing. You'll see when you look at the menu. My coworkers got the royal and hal burgers. I wanted to try the hot dog with everything and fries. I asked for everything on it, but they forgot the Ketchup and relish. Had plenty of onions and mustard though. Hot dog hit the spot, burst with meat juices and savory. Lol Fries were nicely salted and crispy. My coworkers and I ordered online, indicated 20mins however we had to wait there another 15 mins for the food. Lame. Also I wish they had a dine-in or sitting area. Minor issue, we decided to drive back to the office and eat. All-in-all. Good price, good food, good locations off of waialae ave, near chaminade university and across from the new FedEx store.

If you are one of those types that really wants to eat where the locals eat, this is the greatest hamburger stand in urban Honolulu. This is not just a teriyaki cheeseburger, but a W&M cheeseburger has such a unique flavor profile that If I had to flee the country, before I got on a plane I would stop and get a cheeseburger from W&M.

Parking is a small lot. There are constantly people going in and out of the lot so have patience and it helps to also have a bit of luck. We came on a Sunday a bit after 11am and this place was so busy. There wasn't a huge line of people waiting to order but there were a significant number of people there waiting for food. **Pro Tips: +You can order ahead. If you know what you like order using your mobile app device so you cut your waiting time down. +If you're out of luck for parking or don't want to bother with the hassle, park at City Mill next door. They have a huge lot and it's literally steps from the restaurant. You order towards the middle of the establishment. This place is takeout ONLY. They accept card and cash payments. You order items separately and make sure you are clear with your order. The lady helping us was patient but direct. She made sure to read our entire order back to us carefully and made sure we were aware of how much food we ordered. Orders are called on the left hand side of the establishment. There's another window that distributes the food. Grab your own napkins from the dispensers provided. It will NOT be in your bag automatically. Was this worth the drive from Ewa Beach to Town--YES. The burgers and hotdogs are delicious and juicy. The fries were fresh and crispy. The drinks are cold and delicious. They do offer dessert and crab mac salad. We will have to try to come back for those next time. Highly recommend coming here for some delicious eats.

First time eating here as a local. idk, maybe you have to grow up eating at these super old school places to have a complete appreciation for the food. Good things to note: the prices are pretty good, especially compared to other nearby burger joints. The line to order wasn’t fast, but that was mainly because the people in front of me had insanely complicated orders or kept coming back to bother the cashier and add on more items to their order. The cashier was very patient with them so she gets props for that. The menu, as others have noted, is needlessly complicated. Their hamburgers and bbq burgers come with lettuce, onion, tomato, and cheese by default, and each possible combo of these ingredients being kept or removed from the burger is listed as a separate menu item. Not sure why the burger could have been listed once, and they note somewhere that ingredients can be customized. I got a Hal Deluxe burger and fries. I thought the burger was pretty mediocre. The beef patty was fine, but the bbq “steak” (which is actually just thin teri beef) was very dry. The buns were also dry. The lettuce and tomato helped add moisture, but it just wasn’t enough. On top of that, the bbq “steak” was pretty tasteless. The fries, on the other hand, were great. I would readily take these fries over McDonald’s fries. Overall, it wasn’t exactly a stellar meal. The price is nice, but the taste and texture of the food will probably keep me away for the foreseeable future. @K C congrats on not understanding how politics or the economy work. How is that relevant to a burger joint anyway? Kindly refrain from using the internet until you can post things that won’t cause others to lose brain cells just by reading them.

Google
Tourist Review: this spot definitely did not disappoint! The HAL Special was delicious with its BBQ steak. The buns have a slight sweat taste to eat (almost like Hawaii buns). The Green River drink is refreshing but a little too artificial tasting to me. Parking is very limited and waves of people come in sometimes so you might not have a spot to park. There are very limited areas to eat there but there are no seats. You have to eat standing. Highly recommend eating here if you are craving a burger.

I finally decided to try W&M Bar-B-Q after hearing all the hype, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. First off, the prices were surprisingly high for what they offer. I ordered a burger, and it was incredibly basic—nothing special about it at all. For the cost, I was expecting something more flavorful or unique, but it honestly felt like something I could make at home for a fraction of the price. I left feeling disappointed and wondering what all the fuss is about. Definitely not worth the hype in my opinion. There are better places to spend your money if you’re looking for a great burger experience.

Old school Honolulu local burger joint, Take Out only. Family business since the 50’s. Love it! Parking is a pain but don’t let that discourage you. Hal’s Burger with everything is our new favorite. Nostalgic Teri Burgah taste, yum!

Google
This has to be one of the worst "bbq" burgers I've ever had... the bun was cold not even slightly warm or toasted burnt fries... why why why did we come here. If it wasn't for us needing to catch such early flight I would have never came here. Most flavorful thing was the cheap ketchup even that was gross... one and done ....never again. Save ur money and go to the daley

Yelp
Such a popular local business that's been around for so many years. We were in Kaimuki today, and when my husband asked if I wanted a W & M burger, I couldn't answer fast enough!! Yummy teriyaki meat/teriyaki burger combo and fries is what we always have. It's so ONO!! (delicious) If you're really hungry, you may want to order two. They're not huge burgers, but definitely packed with flavor. *Parking is limited and it's always busy and timing is everything. As I sat in my car waiting, I noticed several people walking over from the City Mill parking nextdoor. Seemed as though they did a phone order, and were in and out in a few minutes. If you order there, you may need to wait 15-20 minutes, depending how busy they are. Check them out, never disappoints!!

Yelp
A great hole in the wall place with its only con being the parking situation. Their burgers are good - the Tri burger was the right amount of sweetness. The green river drink tastes like a lemon/lime Powerade, pretty good. The service is great, we ordered around 12:10, get our food around 12:25 pm... not bad considering we ordered a total of 4 burgers, a hot dog, 2 orders of fries and 2 drinks. We were so hungry that we didn't take pictures, next time!

Yelp
Pros: Fast service Organized Could find parking Cons: Morning star burger tasted too spicy not teriyaki Lettuce was brown ************ There was enough parking but it does get crowded. Many customers are ordering or picking up pre-orders. My morning star was too spicy and not the teriyaki flavor that I was expecting. Maybe they switched to the spicy black bean version. One lettuce was brown. They are organized and fast but hope they try to keep up the quality especially as the burgers get more expensive.

Yelp
My favorite burger on the island; the double royale with a green river omg be prepared for a kanack attack after because I took such a good nap after this lol it's so juicy and delicious, not too fancy but seriously the best it reminds me of home on lanai eating a burger with my grandparents parking is tight so might sure there a good driver before people judge you lol

Richard H.

Yelp
Still the best cheeseburger in Hawaii! Be sure to try their Royal cheeseburger deluxe with extra patty and extra cheese (double double). For vegetarians, try their no meat(morning star patty) with their sauces, Royal. Still a big fan of their crab macaroni potato salad!

Yelp
First in line... A highly suggested thing to do here at W&M as we were blown how everyone quickly started piling in one by one long before they were open at 9am. Now why were we here...? Lucky Nadine has done it again winning not just the burger of our choice but fries and drink as well and who can't say no to that...moi! What a way to start my personal day (what I call my day off) with the breakfast of champions W&M. I got the Tomato HAL...no onion for me, fries and a large green river...classic love! Everything was perfect freshly made and as we dove in to the Dessert Trio (banana cream tart, pumpkin crunch, panna cotta) each mini/half the size and was just so yummy each with a delightful twist. The vibe is pretty much take out though there's a ledge for you to enjoy for a quick bite. Thank you!

Yelp
Being away from home made me crave the old school food. I was happy to hear that they were in the same location, but the parking... man, it's still terrible, but it's okay! I got there about 10:30 am - all the stalls were available. I came just before the rush did. Thank goodness! I grabbed food for my family and it was quite a list! -1Royal Burger -3 Hal Specials -3 French Fries -2Cheeseburgers (for the keiki) Royal and Hal are popular so I'd recommend those if you don't know what to order. W&M were on Hawai'i's Best for 10 years in a row, then COVID happened, but then they kept up their reputation and continued to earn more awards. Right there... says something about W&M. The workers are easy going, patient, and take their time! I had a big order.. they took their time to make sure everything was in the bags. Thank you so much!

Ward K.

Yelp
When people tell me that W & M has been around for over 70 years, I still can't believe it. I've only known it to be located on Waialae Ave and not at their OG spot. When you think about it, they've been doing burgers for over 7 decades, so they must know burgers, right??? Yes, they do. There is a reason for the line outside of hungry customers. They have everything from their signature Royal hamburger, cheeseburger all the way to the top, their Hal Special, which is their signature Royal burger topped with onolicious BBQ Steak. You can have it with lettuce tomatoe, onion, and cheese or take any away. It's all up to you. For those who don't want a burger, they also have hotdogs, and for you non eating red meat, they have the morning star veggie burger. Remember back in the day the drunk green river? They have it here. Now that brings back memories. They also sell dessert like pumpkin crunch, white chocolate creme brulee and other things. The only downside besides waiting in line is that they only have 6 parking stalls. Might be good to come with a friend who can drive around the block and get you when you have the goods. If waiting in line isn't your thing, you can also call in your order. What I kind of noticed is that you might have to wait longer if you were to stand in line and order. Either way you are going to get some good grinds!

Yelp
This burger joint has been around for decades, but there's been a recent surge in social media coverage about it and we made an effort to try it. It's in a neat old building directly behind City Mill in Kaimuki; it's so easy to miss I never saw it in over 10 years of driving by. They have dedicated parking that's easy to navigate; it's locked with a chain when closed. Our first attempt to come was during open hours but they were closed anyway, so we tried again a week later. You should note their hours are restrictive around lunch only, so if you're hoping for this for dinner you have to get it in the afternoon. Their menu and story of the business are on the windows in front. It's a simple menu of BBQ burgers, fries, hot dogs, and drinks. We each ordered a different burger and got some sides to share. Prices are super reasonable here; for four of us it was less than $40 for everything. Burgers are cooked well done but still moist as they should be. Service was fast and efficient, the order was ready quickly and we were on our way. Everything tasted good, we enjoyed our meal but felt portions were small but they seem consistent with what they've always done. They have a 60s drive in look and taste. If you're craving a locally owned simple burger and fries, this one is worth trying.

Yelp
I had a light lunch so felt hungry for dinner early. I got to W & M just before they closed. They were out of fries which was disappointing but I did get The Hal which is their Royal hamburger with added teriyaki beef which they call BBQ steak. I got it with the works. The service was good and relatively fast since I was the only one there lol. There are no tables so take your food elsewhere to eat. The Hal was filling and the Teri beef added even more flavor. It was on the sweet side but it was sliced thin and stayed in the burger without being pulled out with each bite. The lettuce was crisp and reminded me of a certain well known CA burger chain. The burger patty was on the thin side. Overall the Hal was a filling and flavorful burger! I wish they were open until early evening hours so you can get dinner from there. 4:30 pm is a bit early so plan on going there for lunch only. It did work out for me today though as I was hungry for an early dinner.

Yelp
Flavor and quality haven't changed since their inception. One of the few places you can count on for the OG Teri burger flavor. My go to is the royal. Their patties run thin so I like to opt for two patties. Fries are decent best if eaten within 10 minutes of receiving. Parking can be tricky. Only about 5 stalls on site. Be patient or have a buddy system so the driver can circle around the block. They now have an app that you can place orders on. Definitely helps since their phones are usually busy and ordering in person means you'll have to wait in the hot sun.

Yelp
Hardly eat here because of the limited availability of parking but I finally made it and got lucky to have found parking inside. Thus, it was time to indulge in some wm burger I haven't had in such a long time. Food: Previously, I had their bbq burger before and it was tasty with a lot of lettuce but it has been long overdue for to write a yelp review until now. I finally got the Hal special with everything in it including the dressings. It's basically both the bbq hamburger patty and bbq steak in one sandwich. Lettuce was not as generous as it was before the pandemic. However, the patty was l consistent as I remember. Still yummy. Bbq steak is good but wish they given more in its sandwich due to its cost. Fries crispy and not salted (for those watching their sodium intake). Drink: It is my first time trying out Green River. Not bad. Not overly sweet based on taste. Service: Quick in getting food order to customers and mom and pop's service with appreciation for our business. Much better than your typical fast food customer service like McDonalds and others. However, I guess ketchup is given upon request because i didn't see ketchup in my bag. :( should I have asked or should it already be automatically provided? Area: Nice and clean. However, no tables and chairs around so better eat in your own car or find a place nearby to enjoy your food. Parking is limited and area is small. Other: Accepts credit cards other than cash.

Yelp
Looking for a good old fashion tasty burger. Well check out W&M Bar-B-Q Burger in Honolulu. They're locally owned and is renowned for its delicious burgers, particularly its barbecue infused burgers. Yumm! The restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients and flavorful combinations has earned it a loyal following over the years. Interesting fact... Their menu is almost the same as it was back in the 1960s. The made to order sandwiches ranging from the plain, to the royal, which is a mainstay of their business. Don't forget to order their fires as they're thinly cut, which gives it a nice crispy texture. Enjoy!

Deez W.

Yelp
Taste like May's Teri patties .. the "M" must stand for Mid !hyped up for real .. fries were pretty good .. other than that .. wasn't as good as I anticipated, due to all the other customers reviews ..

Tash M.

Yelp
Sometimes, you just want an old school drive-inn burger. The kind that has filler and not just straight beef, like mom used to make so she could use the old bread or to stretch a lb of hamburger meat for two meals versus one. Ive been living in Maui for the past 6 years and these burgers have not changed. I'm glad it's one of the staples that is still here amidst the changing food climate. They have homemade desserts, green river drinks, and crab flavored Mac salad as well. They take cards and have their own tiny private lot with about 6 stalls. The lady at the front is always nice and talkative, and the layout just brings back nostalgia.

Yelp
Great flamed broiled burgers, funky location on Wailaie, good service, family run business

Yelp
Nestled in the Kaimuki neighborhood, W & M Bar-B-Q Burgers has been serving up one of Oahu's best barbecue burgers for over 50 years, consistently winning the Star Advertiser's Hawaii Best People's Choice Award. Their homemade patties, soaked in a unique barbecue sauce and topped with your choice of fresh ingredients, are a true culinary delight. I highly recommend the Hal burger, which combines a juicy hamburger patty with savory teriyaki meat, offering a perfect blend of flavors. Paired with their crispy french fries and a refreshing Green River drink, a visit to W & M instantly transports you back to your childhood, making it a must-visit for both locals and visitors alike. Yelp
Great BBQ Hamburgers, plus their BBQ TeriBeef Burger! The additional treat for a sweet tooth -- DESSERT! Parking can be challenging. Service is reasonably fast! There's almost always a line.

Stephanie N.

Yelp
Patty has that charbroiled taste. The hotdog was cooked as well. I will say they put a lot of sauce on their stuff, I they could toast their bread. But overall this place deserves more attention. Come here to support a cute business. They make your fries fresh even if you order ahead of time.

Yelp
This burger joint is a small hole in the wall in Honolulu. The parking is tight, so make sure to get there early as there's always a line and a crowd waiting to order. You need to get to the window and give your order and then pick it up once ready.. pretty simple. We ordered for 4 different burgers, including the steak burgers, as we wanted to try all of them. I want to be honest that I was disappointed. Some of the steak burgers had hardly any meat, ketchup, or mayo.. which was truly surprising as well. But the star of everything was their crab flavored Mac salsd... OMG.. it was awesome. It lives up to the name that it is the best Mac salad on the island.

Nyra C.

Yelp
You can tell by the smell outside it's going to be a good bbq burger! Good fries also. They have grilled hotdogs too and a few nicer desserts. My burger went down so fast that I wished I had ordered two. I also completely missed that they serve panna cotta. Who would have thought that?

Mel J.

Yelp
Still the best burger (BBQ or otherwise)!!! Moved to the mainland more than 29 years ago and never forgot how absolutely delicious W&M burgers are. I've been back to the islands several times since, but I didn't have time to stop by here. So this time, it was mist and I had to share the experience with my son. When we turned in, there was an open parking spot. Yay! There are only a few parking spaces (5 or 6) so when there's an open one, you're lucky. :) I went up to the counter and there were just a couple people in front of me, but it didn't take long for my turn to come, and I ordered 2 tomato Royals (Royal without onion). 2 fries (one si3) and 2 large drinks. It took maybe 15 minutes for our order because although there aren't many people at the counter, there were at least 4 doordash orders that were picked up while I was waiting. Needless to say, they were busy even if didn't look like it. I didn't mind waiting because I knew that the burger was worth the wait. I was not disappointed one bit. My son and I both enjoyed the burgers and fries. In fact, we returned the following Monday (MLK, Jr. Day) but they were closed. :( Recommend? YES!!

Kevin W.

Yelp
Iconic favorite BBQ Hamburgers by W & M Bar-B-Q. Locally owned and operated restaurant specializing in BBQ burgers. Simple ingredients put together in a way often copied but no one can duplicate. It's an umami flavor that is so nostalgic yet familiar and comforting. They're fast, friendly, and efficient. Highly recommend you call ahead and place your order and take along someone to run in and pick up your order. The private parking lot is small and although they turn over the orders quickly it can get crowded. There's no dining area, just a order window and a pickup window. They been a fixture on Waialae for decades. Thank you W & M. Appreciate everything that you've done and continue to do. Looking forward to see you in business many more years.

Cyndee C.

Yelp
The W&M burger is the OG of bbq burgers. I always enjoy it and sometimes crave it. And, just as you thought it couldn't get better, they offer desserts and online ordering! This has made the W&M experience 10x better! Now, when I get a craving for a burger (sometimes I'm fanatic and get the Hal) I just go online, choose my burger, fries, and a dessert. The hard part is to pick which dessert I want for the day. The choices have been strawberry panna cotta, crème brulée, pumpkin crunch and lilikoi cheesecake. All are delicious! You may want to pick up a green river, too. It really is a perfect meal!

Richard T.

Yelp
A Great Family owned.business that provides EXTREME tasty burgers, by far, the Best Burgers you can get. Absolutely, no one else makes a burger and fry's taste this good. Service is Five Stars as well, where the front window provides service and caring about " you" the consumer. From ordering to waving bye. TOTAL servcare. I love this place..... the only drawback. Everyone else that knows about this gem, shows up, the same time I do. The remedy to this is; Order a lot and tip generously!!! That's all for now, and I hope I don't see you there, when I'm there

Catherine P.

Yelp
I was surprised to find out this place is opened at 9 am on a Sunday. When the kids are wanting hamburgers at 8 am, this is one of a few places before 1030. I want to note that these are all covered in a teriyaki sauce, not thick or anything but it adds a sweetness to the burgers and teriyaki beef. I ordered 4 hamburgers, one hotdog, three fries and a drink for $50. The fries were nice and warm with a touch of salt. The burgers come in customizable options so you can get them plain or deluxe. Service was quick as we were the only ones in line on a Sunday at 10 am. I have seen it where the parking lot is packed and there is a line. No where to eat unless in your car, but there aren't many stalls so I suggest taking it to a nearby park, beach, or back home.

Jenny C.

Yelp
If you're craving a burger, this is the spot for you! Oh my goodness!! I brought my fiancé here for the first time today. I have only been here one other time a few years back and never forgot about this burger joint. This place is memorable and for good reason. Their bar-b-q burgers are so flavorful. The patties are marinated in barbecue sauce which gives it just the right amount of sweetness. I ordered the Tomato Royal with everything. It's a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, mayo, ketchup, mustard, and relish. My fiancé got the same, but added bacon to it. And of course, we had to share the Hal Special. It's the Royal with thin slices of barbecue steak added to it. What a great lunch! It's so good that my fiancé is going back in line for round 2.

Monica Y.

Yelp
Haven't been to W & M in years! We stopped by W & M BBQ Burger because we were in the area. The parking lot is very small with about 5 stalls and no turn around so I suggest that you reverse into the stalls. It was really crowded when we went & I noticed that a lot of people phoned in their order. We ordered the deluxe hamburger, fries & I tried their green river. The deluxe comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, ketchup, mustard, relish (I opted for no relish). The burger was very tasty and homemade just how I remember it. The fries were nice & hot but needed a little more salt. And I felt like the green river was a little watery. The staff there were really nice & even complemented me on my Pixar shirt I had on. They also made sure to separate my burger from the rest so that I could tell which one did not have relish. I suggest calling ahead of time so that you don't have to wait when picking up your order.

Karen T.

Yelp
Very simple menu that surprisingly has Morning Star Burgers too! The patty is a little thin but that's why the burgers are $7 and not $15. You can request sauces and bacon or other toppings. It's insanely busy with maybe 7 parking stalls? Service is quick and easy. It's just an old time burger joint that's pretty clean especially considering how old it is. I'd go back.

Natalie P.

Yelp
Super disappointed. Been going here for years and never have i gotten a burger that looked like this. Not even a decent slice of tomato and a thin later of lettuce. The quality has definitely gone down !! Not to Mention very cold fries!!

Ji Young C.

Yelp
Burgers are great! But they need to put a little more syrup in the green river. It's to water downed.

Shige M.

Yelp
I once ordered a large order of burgers and fries there. When I was checking the order received, I thought the order was wrong. Instead of politely checking, I received a sarcastic response from the cashier saying "you're wrong, the orders right". I took the comment quietly and tried not to think about it. Today, I went there and felt a bit intimidated in checking my order so I didn't. Went home, and omg was missing a couple burgers. Yes I had the receipt to compare with....argh. My fault? Yeah. Anyways, does that warrant a one star review, probably not. The one star is for how sadly the quality of these sandwiches have gone down. Less, much higher costs, but I get that's inflation I suppose. Ultimately, quality could have made up a lot. I won't be going back anytime soon to fight the parking and the long slow lines. I really think they need to modernize. Yelling orders from a piece of paper doesn't work when you've got a lot of orders queued. Sad, so sad. Was one of my favorite places and now I'll instead give 5 stars to Shiges Saimin burgers.

Kevin N.

Yelp
Forgot part of the order. Terrible parking. Terrible service. Patty is so thin you're basically eating a salad.

Heidi H.

Yelp
I have not been here for years. The last time I was here I was elbowed to my teeth-jaw by accident so have been avoiding if crowded. I was walking by and it was not crowded so I stopped by. I ordered teribeef sandwich, french fries and the trio desert. They were very friendly ans the order came out quickly. However the meat was very dry and tough. So disappointing. The fries were shoe string and crispy. The deserts were new to me since I never saw it on the menu. They were tasty. If and when I go back I will order something else. Maybe hamburgers are better...it usually has a line.

Lois I.

Yelp
We went to W&M today, ordered the Royal, the HAL's special, two fries and two salads. The burgers were wonderful, never fails, best teri burgers around. Service was fast....although at times, parking is a deterrent, but today, parking success. This is the place to grab and go, no outdoor seating, but it's okay.....the burgers are the bomb, lov the teri glaze, mayo, lettuce onions and tomato.....never disappointed. I have been a customer since W&M was at the corner of 9th Avenue and Waialae. Our regular order was teri cheese burger, crab salad, fries and a vanilla coke.......YUMMY.

G P.

Yelp
Classic burgers served with a smile. I grew up on these and they always bring back great memories. Not necessarily what I would call best in the world but definitely worth going. Only down side is the teeny tiny parking lot. If you can't park your car and turn around within the space of one lane you're gonna have a problem. (Don't back up onto Waialae.)

Tracy O.

Yelp
W&M is an old-school favorite. Everything gets grilled and slathered with their delicious barbecue (Asian Shoyu) style sauce. They also make great desserts. Undecided try the trio of desserts.

Yelp
A hole in a wall joint. No dining area. Recommend phone in your order or order online during peak lunch hours. We ordered the HAL special which is hamburger in their famous BBQ sauce topped with BBQ steak, lettuce, tomato, onion and cheese; crab salad and lilikoi cheesecake. All very delicious. The lilikoi cheesecake was light, airy and not overly sweet. I really liked it and I'm not a cheesecake fan.

Yelp
Kaimuki staple! Best burgers around. Parking is ticky but definitely worth it. Staff is always friendly and even when there's a long line they get to everyone fairly quickly. Love that you can order online to avoid the lines. Always consistently delicious and the prices are so good for what you get.

Yelp
Great local spot, hole in the wall vibe that you could potentially pass if you're not paying attention. Timing is everything here as there are limited stalls and it's a pretty busy area. I tried calling in my order but no one was picking up as they can get busy and then I learned you can order online. They are with the times in terms of technology for online ordering and offering rewards. I definitely recommend going that route as I was able to time it perfectly and go when my food was ready while there were other patrons waiting. There is a separate window to order and other for pick ups, so that was nice. I suggest not eating in the parking lot if they're busy as to make room for others but it may be hard to wait to get into your burger! I haven't been here in awhile and opted for a Hal Special with fries and a Green River drink. I only wish I added cheese on my burger. Next time. Also the workers are really sweet and love that it's a family owned business. Support local always!

Yelp
Old school bbq burger joint. For a party of 5, almost $50 for plain hamburger, 2 cheeseburgers, Royal steak burger and Royal burger and 3 orders fries. It was about a 20min wait. They also have online ordering app available.

Yelp
Just discovered the desserts at W&M. Would see it on the menu and we finally ordered some. The strawberry panna cotta is my favorite!! Today we had the Hal's Special and plain hamburgers with everything on it. Delicious! This place is such a gem. We always go early to avoid the crazy crowds. What I really appreciated was how they bagged the cold items separately and put tape on the strawberry sauce container for the panna cotta so it stayed nicely in place. That little touch shows how much they care to deliver a quality product. We love W&M, it's an awesome old school place with yummy food!

Yelp
Love their Burgers and Fries. Didn't know they serve desserts. Couldn't decide so I got the Pumpkin Crunch and White Chocolate Crème Brûlée. OMG, Crème Brûlée to die for, crispy carmelized sugar topping is just right. Creamy not rich. Can't stop eating it. Pumpkin Crunch creamy with a crunchy shortbread crust. Will return for more desserts!!!

Yelp
Gave my son different options as to what he wants for lunch and all he said was he wants to eat a good burger! So this hole in the wall was recommended by an amazing person! We took a drive out from Kapolei just to see what it was all about. We got there and they have only 6 stalls. The line was all the way to boom chuck India but it went down pretty quick. I got up to the window and the concoction smell of the BBQ grill going with the heat of the Hawaiian sun and the aunty and Uncle aloha spirit of the workers there took me back to my younger kid days. We got the Royal Burger, hot dog, their crab flavored salad, fries , Green River to drink and their Strawberry Roulade for dessert! Everything was so delicious! W&M Bar-B-Q Burgers DID NOT DISAPPOINT!

Yelp
Updating my review with same 3 star rating. Prices increased with inflation as every where else. Same quality and quantity of food, which is nice as I feel some places increased prices and decreased quality and quantity. The "steak" meat is chewy and overcooked. I reccomend sticking with the burgers or hot dog. Fries are okay...kinda oily. Burger toppings are fresh. Bun kinda falls apart from the condiments and moisture from the burger. Now that prices have went up the value isn't there for me anymore so probably won't be back.

Yelp
Nostalgia at its finest and a crown jewel of Kaimuki. I was introduced to this local burger joint by the boyfriend who has been a loyal customer since the age of four! It's definitely not your massive burgers like Teddy's or Chubbies, but it is a burger that is a timeless classic. The burgers are simple: regular burger buns, beef patty with special homemade teriyaki sauce, cheese (if you want it royal), condiments of choice, lettuce, tomato, and onion. Add it with a side order of crispy shoe string fries and a nice cold serving of green river, and you are taken back to those good old carefree kiddie days! Portions maybe a little smaller than the normal burgers out there but that is okay; you can order two of the same thing and I won't judge. They also offer meatless burgers, bbq steak burgers, and even bbq hot dogs! And yes, since this is local joint, there is crab mac salad. To keep up with the times, they now accept card payments and are a part of the five star reward program! Service here is always amazing. They work so hard and are super friendly to all their customers. Everytime my boyfriend and I go, one of the original workers remembers him and greets him by name. This place definitely treats you like family. I am so thrilled to see this place alive and well and wish them many many more years of success! Word to the wise: You might want to get there early or be patient as their parking lot only has 5 - 6 parking stalls available.

Yelp
Haven't been back in 2 years and a lot has changed and not for the better. See my earlier review and photo. Fries this time tasted stale and had an off taste to it. My hamburger deluxe was missing lettuce and had a very a thin tomato and hardly any onions. I didn't take a photo, as I was initially not planning to do an updated review. I didn't finish the fries, so did take a photo of what I was throwing out. I ate about a 1/4 of the fries and the portion of fries are smaller now. Service was also bordering on unfriendly. It was about 2pm and not crowded. Very disappointing. Even though it nostalgic to come here, I won't be back!

Yelp
Long time burger place with tons of history. My favorite is the Royal burger-hamburger patty with tomato, lettuce, cheese with any or all of sauces- mayo, ketchup, mustard and relish. Love the fries too- crispy (they're the thin ones). They make a mean teri beef sandwich too and if you can't decide whether to get the bbq beef or hamburger, get a "Hal" which is a combo of both. Actually getting the food is another story. Parking is a pain- the lot is small and is often full. Best to call in an order and have someone drop you off. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
