The 34 Best Hotels in Barcelona

"It’s not hard to see how the “Fabulous” rooms at the W got their name: Floor-to-ceiling windows yield to jaw-dropping views of the city, the beach, and the Mediterranean beyond—some of Barcelona’s best. The rooms are where the W really blows you away. The “Fabulous” rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, offering jaw-dropping views of the city, the beach, and the Mediterranean beyond. The room is kitted out with innovative lighting that can transform the mood with a couple flicks, plus an oversize work desk and a chaise longue for daydreaming and gazing. Guests have been known to stay inside this room for the entire duration of their stay. Maybe it’s the comfy W signature bed, or the switch that allows you to control the window blinds without ever getting out of it, but, either way, there is something magical about waking up here." - Gemma Askham, Isabelle Kliger

W Barcelona

"How did it strike you on arrival? The lobby was positively bustling when I arrived—bordering on hectic, even. But the room brought immediate peace (and can-this-be-real views). What’s the crowd like?A real mix of people stay here, from starry-eyed honeymooners to trendy young things looking to party, and lots of business people (many of whom are also looking to party). Tell us about your room. This is where the W really blows you away. Were you able to sleep well?Maybe it’s the comfy W signature bed or the switch that allows you to control the window blinds without ever getting out of it, but, either way, there is something magical about waking up here. Anything noteworthy about the in-room amenities?Barcelonans are notorious gin drinkers. Check out what's in the minibar—you might find local brands. How's the bathroom? The rainfall shower and selection of Davines products may have you taking longer to get ready in the morning (on purpose). Is there Wi-Fi?There is limited Wi-Fi for free, or higher-speed packages available for a fee. Room service: Worth it?Suddenly hungry at 2 a.m., I called room service asking for a small snack, like a banana. Ten minutes later, a staffer arrived with a banana beautifully presented on a silver tray. Cost: $3.50. Anything stand out about other services and features?Ground-floor FIRE serves healthy, tasty Mediterranean specialties cooked on the grill (hence the name), while summer nights are all about waterfront dining at SALT beach club and restaurant. What was most memorable about your stay?I wish I could wake up to that view every day forever. Bottom line: worth it, and why?Not the best location for exploring the city, but a great choice for those who want to take full advantage of hotel services and amenities." - Isabelle Kliger

"Rising dramatically at the end of the beach along the Barceloneta boardwalk, the Ricardo Bofill-designed W Hotel is uncompromisingly modern, complete with reflective glass façade, distinctive sail-like shape, and youthful, clubby interiors. The hotel has a refreshingly informal vibe, with an Ibiza-like ambiance—including sets from international DJs—around the Wet Deck, which is enhanced by the peerless sea views and a private infinity pool. The rooms are modern, decorated in swirling blue carpets and dark woods, and kitted out with funky accent pillows, flat-screen TVs, rainfall showers, and, in many rooms, great views of the Mediterranean or the city."

The W Barcelona is visually stunning—towering sail-shape, steps from the sand, and a lobby that buzzes day and night. We loved waking up to the Med, and the energy around the pool & beachfront promenade is contagious. Unfortunately the polish didn’t extend past first impressions. Check-in ran more than an hour late with little proactive communication. Once in the room, we discovered an already-opened (and pricey) minibar bottle—front desk eventually removed the charge, but only after a follow-up call. Finding breakfast proved a scavenger hunt: signage is minimal and staff at one closed venue simply told us “we’re not open” without directing us to the active restaurant. When we did locate it, the spread was solid—but the detour ate into our morning plans. Room design is sleek, yet the shower’s tile slope sent water across half the bathroom each use. Housekeeping brought extra towels as “dams,” which shouldn’t be needed at this price point. Wait staff for the lounge chairs and cabanas was not great at all. They are happy to talk to each other at the service desk and stare at you. Bottom line: Come for the unbeatable location and vibe, but temper expectations on service consistency. Not in line with other W's I've stayed at.

Absolutely fantastic stay! The W hotel is truly beautiful and one of the best I've ever stayed at. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-appointed. The location was perfect, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch experience. Thank you, W hotel, for a lovely stay – I'll be back soon!

We arrived at W Barcelona at 4:00 PM, even though the official check-in time is from 3:00 PM. First, we had to wait in line at the reception for 15 minutes. Then, once it was our turn, we were informed that our room was still not ready - an hour and a half after the official check-in time.|The check-in process itself took another 30 minutes. We were exhausted after a long journey and just wanted to take a shower and go to the pool - children are only allowed in the pool until 6:00 PM. Unfortunately, because of the delay, we completely missed that opportunity.|The front desk staff treated the delay as if it were no big deal and offered no real solutions. We were given wristbands for free drinks and food while waiting, but nothing was done to actually solve the problem or make us feel like valued guests.|At 5:00 PM, I asked again when our room would be ready, and the young man at the front desk told me he couldn't say, as he had no contact with housekeeping and didn’t want to “lie” to us. This level of disorganization and lack of professionalism was shocking, so I asked to speak with the manager.|The manager also offered no meaningful compensation. She mentioned the complimentary wristbands and then offered extended access to hotel facilities after our checkout - but we were staying only one night with a child, so this wasn’t relevant or helpful. I asked for a partial refund due to the late check-in, but she claimed there was nothing she could do because the booking was made through Booking.com. Later I found out that this was a lie - hotels can easily issue refunds through Booking.com if they choose to. W Barcelona simply chose not to.|We were finally given our room at 6:00 PM. They had taken our phone number but never called us. We had to go to the desk again and ask - and were told with a big smile that our room was finally ready. After three hours of waiting, we felt more like beggars than paying guests.||IN SUMMARY:|* Paid €800 for one night in a 5-star hotel|* Check-in supposed to be at 3:00 PM, we got our room at 6:00 PM|* Missed the pool because it's only open to kids until 6:00 PM|* Staff and manager were entirely unhelpful and indifferent|* Told a lie about refunding through Booking.com|* No apology, no respect, no service|I absolutely do not recommend W Barcelona. This is not a five-star experience - it’s a disaster.

TERRIBLE management, they were not truthful to their guest. We stayed in a luxury room with a view of the Mediterranean. We checked in and there was no air conditioning and you cannot open windows. We reported this to management 3 times. We had to physically go down to front desk because the phone did not work in our room. With no results, we contacted our Marriott Ambassador concierge. They responded immediately and sent us a letter stating they would credited for our nights stay and move us to another room. When we went to front desk for a room change they said they did not have a room for us and the ac was a hotel problem. The hotel had ac is all the restaurants and common areas. We asked the manager why the did not inform us and the said we just learned about the ac problem. We asked other guest and they did not have ac and the hotel staff did NOT inform them. My advise, DO NOT STAY HERE! For the money you can find better accommodations. Not informing guest about the ac when it is 90+ degrees is not good business. So the hotel was not transparent about their problems. Hopefully thus review will help you find a better hotel in Bareclona

W Osaka ... yes|W Costa Navarino ... yes|W Rome ... yes|W Barcelona ... No.||Arrival: bell boy 'you ok with your luggage?' (while busy chatting to colleague)!. Yes, I got the message you don't want to help.||Check in then is a completely and utterly disorganised disaster. never seen anything like it in a 5* Marriott. What about creating two lines for Elite and non-Elite? And getting people on a first come first service basis served?!? |Not here. I inform the staff there, not interested to listen!||As a Life Time Platinum, who has spent over USD 300K, with a third of my own money vs. company, who used an AUP, I get an upgrade to a first floor room? |are you serious!?!|Wanted to speak with GM Peter, not there. Anna the FoM then got it sorted.|Honestly, what is room control doing? No forward planning or prioritising LFTs.||Pools service hard working, but completely and totally understaffed.|really slow service - food is cold by the time it comes!||No sun beds available on arrival, but yes I can have a reserved on if I PAY EXTRA. |Are you serious?! How desperate is that? You don't have enough beds, but I can get one if I pay? LOL||Room was clean, but hallway had food and dirty dishes out all day. |Great smell when its hot in the hallway and creates a very professional appearance when you go to your room.||Breakfast, average. Not great. |I stayed at the Renaissance Fira for the previous two nights and the breakfast there was amazing. What a contrast - when in a 4* Marriott the breakfast is much better and professional than in a 5* W.||In nearly 700 nights with Marriott, perhaps one of the biggest disappointments.

The space is beautiful, luxurious, and super accommodating. The view is stunning from any angle of the building (I had family members staying in multiple different rooms). The service is exceptional and really defines your experience in a positive, relaxing way. However, drinks at the bars are not very strong or filled with lots of ice, which doesn’t make them worth the price. Food, however, is delicious and diverse. Would recommend to friends & family, but would urge them to go drinking and hang out at local bars close to the hotel. Mixed drinks at the hotel will be expensive, but not really worth the price. I would also recommend to be ready to either lounge by the pool and beach or practice sports, cycling, rollerblading, etc. The boardwalk between the hotel and the beach is filled with activity; take advantage of it!

Whilst the W holds a name within the realms of 5 star offerings, the W in Barcelona lets itself down during peak season with continual small issues that detract from the enjoyment of your stay. Great staff, very helpful and willing to go the extra mile for their customers. Unfortunately they are let down by systems cause confusion and angst. I have had faulty AC for my entire stay. Maintenance has visited the room to repair / reset or fault the AC on 7 occasions, as well as requiring a tap (faucet) in the basin to be replaced after running for 16 hours. The have also been numerous charges against my card that are unexplained or authorised. On check in, I was charged the full amount of a fully paid in advance room that subsequently resulted in my credit card being frozen due to a fraud alert. It’s these accumulated events that detract from the stay itself. The Hotel is busy, well staffed and clean. The food within the restaurants is very good, and you would be hard pressed to dislike the menu. The team in the breakfast restaurant “Salt” are great.

We recently returned to W Barcelona for our second visit, and once again, everything was absolutely wonderful. A big part of what made our stay so special was Mirko, who checked us in. From the moment we arrived, Mirko was kind, welcoming, and truly made a fantastic first impression. He went out of his way to make sure my parents were comfortable while we were checking in, which meant a lot to us. His attention to detail, warmth, and professionalism set the perfect tone for our stay. Thanks to Mirko, the experience felt seamless and even more enjoyable. Everything about our visit was great, but Mirko’s exceptional care and hospitality truly stood out. We’re so grateful and can’t wait to return again!

Yelp
Best hotel I have stayed in! I enjoyed the vibes of the beach the club upstairs the Cuban restaurant coya and my beautiful room! I stayed at 1717 and it was an amazing view! Shout out to all staff from Fernanda answering my questions at front desk concierge and Miguel kindly checking me in from Belgium respect! I thourohly enjoyed my stay with the beautiful red rug Colorway made it feel so elegant and movie like! I enjoyed the spa with the attendant Sarah whom checked me in and got me acquainted with the pool and steam room! I am an avid swimmer so I highly enjoyed the lavish experience with the amazing steam room! I would definitely stay here again and enjoyed the delicious meal right before 11am. Loved the fresh fruit and desayuno I ordered! The best stellar experience ever!

Yelp
This W location is super pretentious & has the rudest staff particularly the front doorman. We came for the candlelight show Sunday evening, which was neat but once the show ended we were waiting for our ride & wanted to step inside the lobby. The doorman rudely asks us what we're there for at the entrance like he was a bouncer at a club or something. It caught us off guard & we replied "oh we just left the candlelight show, just waiting on our ride" he then had the nerve to tell us "candlelight show is over, you can wait outside" huh??? I've never seen a hotel anywhere in the world deny entry to the lobby like it's exclusive lol. One of the most ridiculous things I've come across & left us with a bad taste with this location. Other W locations I've been to in Miami & Hollywood were wonderful but this locations' staff just give the entire place weird vibes.

Yelp
Awesome place, really enjoyed our stay here. Coya restaurant in the hotel was great. Try the eggplant tapas, even if you don't think you like eggplant!

Yelp
The W Barcelona was life changing for me. There is no experience that I can ever compare it to nor will I try. It's a stand alone slice of heaven--from the incredible views, the outstanding service and the food. My pictures do it only a small justice, but it was a 10 day adventure that will live in perfection in my mind forever. Muchas gracias!

Yelp
I have experienced extremely poor customer service from the reservations sales department at this hotel, specifically from Antonio Bergamo and Federico Blanco. For the past week, I have been trying to resolve an issue regarding an accidental reservation, but they have been uncooperative, focused solely on charging me, and lacking in professionalism. Their approach has been rude and dismissive, showing little regard for customer satisfaction. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone, especially when there are far better options in Barcelona that prioritize class and effective communication.

The vibe was incredible, and the service was amazing! The galacian beef melted in my mouth like butter! Highly recommended you stop by when in Barcelona!

Yelp
So I didn't actually stay at this hotel so I can't comment on the quality of the rooms themselves, but I used to work at the W Austin and have stayed at the W New Orleans and I know those are gorgeous so I'm sure this one is too. I did still come here though to eat at the restaurant (FIRE) and go to the rooftop bar (ECLIPSE), so can confirm the location of the hotel is stunning (right on the edge of Barceloneta beach near a gym/workout area). The view at night from ECLIPSE over the city is lovely and I imagine also stunning first thing in the morning since you have a view of both the whole beach and ocean as well as the city. The lobby has that trademark W scent (it's actually a thing, they have air fresheners etc. that they sell with that trademark smell - it's clean and lovely). I do recall looking at rooms to see if I could afford to stay here but just know the cheaper ones ranged from $300-400 and that was a couple years ago, so it might be more now. Nevertheless, because it's a W hotel I'm sure it's extremely nice if you actually stay here. Can confirm the food at the restaurant was expensive but good and the bar is super swanky (but also SUPER crowded - there was a line to get in and we left maybe 5 mins after arriving because it was just so packed and hard to get drinks or sit anywhere).

Yelp
If you're visiting Barcelona to get a taste of the cities unique culture, don't stay here. During our trip to Barcelona we stayed a few nights in each of the major city districts and decided to try this beachfront location for a more upscale luxury experience. That said, we weren't impressed with this hotel. Yes -- the ocean views are STUNNING and the gym was impressively equipped. And though we enjoyed walking the beach boardwalk where this hotel is situated, the W feels like it's exclusively for lazy Americans who want a safe bet stay. In fact, this place makes you feel like you never even left the US! I am very happy we only stayed 1 night here. It's also a VERY far walk from all of the cultural hot spots that make Barcelona so special. I personally don't mind 35-45 minute walks but I know for some vacationers, this would be a turn off. If you want a super unique upscale city experience for HALF the price I strongly recommend checking out places like Hotel 1898 or Hotel Colon. Both offer stunning rooftop views, pools, and saunas and they're a fraction of the price of the W. Plus, you'll be walking distance to all the super cool points of interest in the city!

Yelp
The view and bedrooms were amazing! They also have amazing nightlife in the building along with pool parties ! Best thing when we got back to our room after a night out there was 6 water bottles waiting there all complimentary! Definitely will be back !
google avatar

Yelp
Over hyped hotel and far from luxury for the price they charge. The rooms look tired, our shower reeked of chlorine and mold and they literally give you only two towels. The food at the restaurant by the pool "fire" was mediocre at best and the lobby bar menu was disgusting! We tried the octopus which was the most disgusting flavor combo I have ever experienced. I can see the appeal of the hotel if it's super nice weather to hang by the pool and beach but outside of that the hotel wasn't our vibe. We stayed at the edition for 3 days before moving to the W and wish we had stayed there as the W was overall a disappointment. The hotel needs TLC and the service was subpar as well!

Yelp
There is no better location than the W in Barcelona. Pool and lobby bar are hopping and full of activity and energy. The rooms are a bit outdated, but you can't beat the views.

Yelp
What an amazing experience I had in Barcelona and the W Hotel gave me the ultimate vacation experience!!! The restaurants, spa, ocean side views, the outside pool, the indoor warm pool, jacuzzi, and the waitstaff were phenomenal!!! That is just a piece of what made this place unbelievably grand!! ALL of the food was fresh and the variety of eats, liquors, & spoils made me want to stay another 4 days. There is NO way I will revisit Barcelona and not return. I will ask for the same room. Trust and believe. Enjoy.

Yelp
Stay here if you're traveling to Barcelona! I booked at the W Barcelona pretty last minute because I changed my itinerary to fly into Barcelona a couple days earlier. The hotel was recommended to me but initially, I wasn't sure if it was worth the price. After staying here, I would recommend this spot to anyone and here's why. 1. Barcelonetta is a vibe. Even though it's similar to Santa Monica or Venice beach (in Los Angeles, CA), it's a chill area to be in and definitely pleasant to stay at. The hotel itself is tasteful, clean and has amenities like an infinity pool overlooking the ocean, a pool deck, lovely spa for the guests only, complimentary access at their rooftop bar Eclipse. If you do end up staying here, be sure to just show your wristband to skip the line. No need to wait :) 2. The people. This hotel is family friend but you can also find young people staying here. I noticed that everyone was friendly and attractive. 3. The location: I didn't the nightlife but hear that a lot of the bars are in the barcelonetta area. It's not too far from the sightseeing spots (maybe 15 minutes or so by cab), and there's lots of Taxis just outside of the hotel. There are restaurants downstairs and also along the beach so dining is convenient. 4. The rooms: Some of the rooms have oceanfront views, but I ended up staying in a suite on a lower floor facing the city/ front of the hotel which I also loved. The room was luxurious and the bedding was so comfortable that I googled to find out what kind of bedding they use. They actually have a website and sell their own beds, pillows and comforters! Oh and that Davines shampoo & conditioner made my day! Woohoo!

Yelp
Look no further, book your Baecelona holidays here way ahead!!! I had a work related event at W Baecelona and really wished I had more time here for personal vacation time. The location of the hotel is second to none in Baecelona. The bar and restaurants are outstanding but not overly priced! The room can be really expensive depending on the time of the year! The view from my room was gorgeous!

Yelp
I was so impressed by everything we experienced at the W Barcelona! From the exquisite view of our room on 15th floor to the Amazing breakfast and food offered throughout the hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend the W for location amazing vacation and the best service I have ever see !!!

Yelp
EXPERIENCE: Overall, the W Barcelona did not meet my expectations and I would not stay here again. On night #3, my next-door neighbor threw a disco party and woke me up at 2AM. I called the front desk and had to wait for a good 5 minutes before someone even picked up the phone. Then I waited another 40 minutes for security to come up and actually had to call the front desk again to follow up. Eventually security shut down the party next door and the front desk apologized the next morning by giving me $100 refund. However, the whole experience was RUINED. This should not be happening at a place that brands itself as a luxury getaway. Guests deserve to get a night of restful sleep, at the very least. This experience was DEEPLY DISAPPOINTING. Additionally, when I initially checked in, the front desk staff could not find my reservation. I had to pull up a PDF of my reservation number to show them. The front desk staff then proceeded to take another 10 minutes to make copies of our passports - I understand it's likely standard proceedings, but 10 minutes really? ROOM: Have nothing to complain about the rooms as they were relatively spacious, very clean, chic and modern. We had ocean view and it is stunning! We also had a beautiful (almost panoramic) view of the city and could see the tip of the Barcelona Cathedral (and maybe a little of Sagrada Familia). Loved waking up and opening the automatic curtains with a bedside button - never gets old! RESTAURANT: During my visit, the only restaurant operating was FIRE in the lobby. I was under the impression that there would be additional food options but perhaps they are under renovation. We arrived at the hotel around 8pm and wanted to grab a quick bite at FIRE. However, we were told that there were no tables available until 9:30pm, even though about 1/3 of the tables inside were visibly empty! Perhaps they just didn't have the staff? We also had breakfast at FIRE every day - my family went early (before 7:30am) so there was no wait, however the line extends halfway across the lobby if you arrive later. Must be unpleasant to have to wait for so long for breakfast. The staffing ratio was also quite inadequate as we would have to wave multiple times and wait for a while to get coffee/orange juice refilled. The food was decent however the overall dining experience was undermined by the often-crowded surroundings and slow service. LOCATION: Loved the seaside boardwalk and the landmark building. However, if you are here to tour the city, it's not the most convenient location. Regardless, this didn't bother me too much as there was many cabs available. Hotel staff was also helpful in hailing cabs for guests and telling the cab drivers destination in Spanish.

Yelp
Don't stay at this Hotel!!! NOT A FIVE STAR!!! Rude staff and management! way overrated, terrible service! spoiled our honeymoon! rooms do not have private bathrooms, doors are see-thru glass for both toilet and shower. vanity and sink out in the open. Strange zip-zag lighting on the walls. cant use the rooftop bar unless you're having dinner but most of the time it's booked for private parties. the W is far away from the nightlife and great restaurants in town. For a truly five star experience stay at the H10 Montcada.

Natalie T.

Yelp
SUNDAY POOL PARTY- The event is utterly not thrilling or entertaining. The environment is rather tacky and given its proximity to the beach. The staff is underperforming and incompetent. Brace yourself, the people who attend are kinda icky so you don't wanna be there. They don't let young attractive people in, so expect every other demographic be in there lol. The bouncers were the biggest cowards ever. The FEMALES running this are the biggest woman haters ever. I felt so objectified, sexualized, and physically judged here. The female bouncers were jealous of all the pretty women who are going to this event, so they stop them and have an entire crowed of people with tickets pushed away. They would go out of their way to stop those who got in through the male bouncers even, so sexist and demeaning... Found any excuse, such as your heel not having an ankle strap. But I saw beat up sneakers and jeans make it on men... didn't add up.

Yelp
I have to say we got some very suspicious treatment at the W. And I am not ashamed to say, I am certain it was due to the 2 OTHER BLACK females I was travelling with. We were not ALLOWED to enter the roof top bar on TWO separate occasions that we tried going. And ODDLY, I posted about this during the time it happened, and that review seems to be gone. So, if you are a BLACK AMERICAN...I would say you would find much better service ELSE WHERE.

Jamie P.

Yelp
The hotel's views are spectacular. But the lounge near the rooftop is horrible. The staff are unfriendly. The bartenders let us spend over $60 for drinks without telling us they were closing in 15 minutes. When closing time arrived, a group of unfriendly and extremely rude employees started telling us to get out. We couldn't even finish our watered-down drinks. They refused our plea for just a few more minutes. When we asked why a large group of people gathered in a "VIP" section were not being asked to leave, there was no answer. Everything else went great during our visit to beautiful Barcelona except this. Due to extreme rudeness, I suggest that you avoid the W Hotel bar. I will never return and will inform friends and relatives of the W's horrible service.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this hotel! Views are unbeatable and the service is excellent! Natalia at the reception quickly help me defuse a bit of an emergency situation she was amazing! They had a company that comes to your room to do the COVID test and emails you you're needed paperwork right then and there , my nurse Ger was great! Service is top notch, rooftop bar is beautiful, their restaurant and room Service ate delicious and staff were all individually amazing in their own way!

Yelp
Treated horribly. People were not accommodating and they don't follow their own rules. Much better places to spend time in Barcelona.

Yelp
Took a $20 taxi to go to the W Hotel rooftop wearing a long silk expensive dress and beautiful sandals I had just purchased in Paris 2 days prior. The women at the elevator was very rude and refused my entrance only because my shoes were flat even though I'm 5'10 and that's what I am most comfortable going out in. Felt very mistreated and will never try or recommend anyone I know to come back. Very disappointed.

Yelp
Do it. Epic view from the room. One of the best trips and Hotels I've stayed at .

Yelp

Yelp
First time and they would not let us in cause my friend had on Balenciaga's. While others have on dirty white and pink air force ones and looked a mess. What a joke. I am a gold elite member and will never come to this restaurant or hotel past today.

Yelp
Properly nicest hotel in Barcelona / after arts ! Beautiful beach with no hustler's and another modern Marriott property, good ! Not exceptional and the service tends to be not trained ... kinda rude

Yelp
Yikes horrid hotel. Waaay overpriced. Jaded staff with a super power of avoidance and eye rolling, want a second drink at the bar or ask a question?... forget it..asking for anything with the staff was an eye roll and bare minimum effort. We got routinely told off when going to our room at night as our elevator was the same as the nightclub, apparently we weren't dressed appropriately, young kids got pushed to the front... insulting, so we weren't allowed even as a paying guest to attend the nightclub or bar.. and had to show proof of our room to go to our room.. felt very unwelcome. The room smelled of cigarettes, we had 2 towels the whole stay, no one came and cleaned, no charging or outlets by the beds. You have to run cables from the office desk. No hooks or racks for wet towels so they have to drape on the office desk.. the shampoo and conditioner dispensers were broke, we got no water refills either. The spa was dirty and full of loud clients, not relaxing at all. The spa staff tho were very polite and kind. The only kind and helpful staff in the whole hotel. The fire restaurant was really really bad, terrible service. the waitress was rude and food was just bad. Incredibly expensive and cocktails were so bad. Avoid. Awful awful. The view is great, can't deny that.. so 1

Yelp
I've stayed at this property for a couple years in a row however we got kicked because complaining about bad service. front desk people are horrible, but understandable since they work for the minimum wage . I spoke to guillermo Theodore and he was phone accessible, however the lady at Front desk was very disrespectful and had a very homophobic attitude I was threaten to be kicked out and given 24 hours after I was trying to get my rights as a human being respect. When it comes to the LGTB+ is a NO GO! Do yourself a favor a stay somewhere else. Compare to US customer service this property has a long way to go the ocean views does not justify their French law attitude.

Yelp
After extensive research I finally decided on the W, and man I'm so glad I did. It's just beautiful here and right on the beach. So much to do in this hotel, and it's not far from the main city center. Thank you Sofia for making this experience wonderful. It means a lot to us since we are here for a special anniversary. The W is a winner!

Yelp
Hair salon looks great, supernice stylist. However, ask allot of questions about service charges. Was charged double the website rate for 'trim' , wash and blow dry. Impossible to reach anyone to correct. Imagine $240 for 1/4 inch off the bottom (while hair was dry) !

Yelp
For those of you European travelers, you know that finding a decent price on a great room in Europe can be hard. Sometimes nearly impossible. The W Barcelona is one of the best I have found. It has all the elements for a great hotel. Music and drinks, great breakfast buffet, spacious rooms, and did I mention the biggest shower I have yet to see in a European hotel?! Stay here and you won't even feel the need to leave. On our third day here, there was a thunder storm and not much to do but sit around. Sitting around turned out to be a blast! The entertainment is lively and a lot of fun. The lobby area is always filled with guests waiting to have a good time. It is situated in the best location in all Barcelona, Nuevo Barcelona. Several steps away from the beach with their own private beach area. Call ahead to reserve chairs as they book up pretty fast when the weather is suitable! Eclipse, the upstairs bar turned club at night is small but beautiful. On Saturday nights, the outdoor pool area turns into a lounge with hookah, drinks and live music. The rooms could be a little cleaner but after the remodel last year, rooms are much nicer than the first time I stayed. Decorated with all new decor and vibrant colors, it's hard to find better at such a great price in Europe. I highly recommend booking ahead of time as I have seen prices soar when booking last minute during high season.

Yelp
I'm a long time SPG guy so we had to at least spend one night here when in Barcelona. We were on the 10th floor - I don't remember the room type though. It cost us a ton of points but it was more than worth it! The awesome - - The staff - super super attentive and friendly. When we got to the room we got a call from our personal concierge letting us know to call her if we need anything. - Awesome views from your room. - More funky Spanish light switches and faucets to figure out how to use - Super chi-chi lobby. - Night club in hotel. A couple of other bars too. - WOW lighting in the room. - Awesome shower with a overhead shower head The not so awesome - Can't think of anything. Others - This hotel is a ways away from most of the sightseeing things you probably are in Barcelona for. It makes for a more expensive taxi ride or a lot longer walk.

Yelp
Amazing hotel with stunning architecture and the perfect location to use as a base for your stay in Barcelona. The entire team from motor court drive and bell, to the management and concierge prior to arrival and during our visit along with the restaurant, food and beverage staff made us feel important and welcome during our stay. Every step and interaction have exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend this property and definitely plan to stay again in the future!

Yelp
When we heard the W had repeatedly been voted the best hospital in Barcelona it was a no brained where we would be staying for the 4 nights we had budgeted here. For starters, the W has quite the presence, easily being spotted from the air as your aircraft begins it's descent into BCN. The ultra modern architecture is another standout point for the facility. The design is undeniably a work of art. The hospitality from the staff also matches the beauty of the property. We were greeted so warmly at check-in. The staff took such an endearing interest in our 2.5 year old daughter who is in her first interaction trip with us, but also in my pregnancy. The lovely young woman at reception introduced us to Pep, Lead W Insider who took great care in helping us plan out a tentative sightseeing schedule for our stay. He gave us his card and direct number in case we needed ANYTHING while at the W. The other concierge are also very helpful. One helped us book all of our tickets and had them delivered to our room. They made restaurant reservations and gave us their personal recommendations which we appreciated. Our one bedroom suite (bedroom, separate living room, huge shower and commode) had a spectacular view of the Mediterranean and the old city, which is only a 10-15 min can ride away). The room was spacious and made our stay unbelievably comfortable. On our second day at the hotel, we returned to the room after a glorious morning at the pool. We were welcomed back by the sweetest gesture. The staff had decorated our window with a congratulations banner, and Spanish/English words summing up the arrival of the new baby, and our family vacation. There was also the most delicious platter of macaroons that I have ever eaten as well as an array of fruit juices. We were seriously blown away. The gesture was so touching that it will undoubtedly become one of those things we will ALWAYS remember about our stay at the W and this trip in general. I have called in love with this property as much as I have the staff. Perhaps it was Spanish hospitality that made the staff go above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable here. Perhaps it's the training the staff receives. Either way, if you're coming to Barcelona, a stay at the W is worth its weight in gold.

Yelp
Love this hotel! I stayed here for a couple days this summer in June and had an amazing stay! The hotel is so gigantic and has such an interesting location that you honestly wouldn't need to leave if you didn't want to. If you are looking to be downtown in the city, don't stay here but if you want some beach and relaxing as well as being close enough to the city, I'd definitely stay here. The staff was overwhelmingly friendly to us and we had a great time with all the amenities. I'd like to have a spa treatment the next time I come because Bliss Spas are awesome. Because of my SPG status we got an awesome room upgrade and had a great view of the water. There's a ton of stuff to do on the hotel property and the neighboring streets. Mike Chau, dad of food baby ny, went to Barcelona a week after me and posted a ton of places to dine on the coast right near this hotel. Would 100% come back. My dad told me that he came here once and they were at full occupancy, even though he had a reservation and because he could not stay in his room they put him up in the presidential suite. He was only there for one day but said it was absolutely incredible. Would've loved to be there for that one!

Yelp
Not a guest here, but after long walk we wanted to go to Roof bar, but they don't allow even very small back packs and won't check them

Yelp
5 stars, sexy, immaculate service, access to private beach right off the hotel, top bars and lounges eclipse on 26th floor and pool bar right inside the hotel, extremely eclectic and tasteful crowd, gorgeous atmosphere, I LOVE AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!

Yelp
This review is for the Lobby Lounge in the W Hotel Barcelona. We ordered a patron silver and soda and a belvedere and pineapple. Bartender pulls out bottle of each and pours and serves each of us. Mine (out of Belvedere bottle) was clearly tequila. Hers (out of Patron bottle) was clearly gin. We tell bartender who apologizes profusely and pours new drinks. Same result. We tell him that he is most likely giving us watered down alcohol in the wrong bottle. Someone screwed up bigly. He tastes our drinks and is clearly embarrassed. Gets new bottles of each and pours real drinks this time. No offer to buy us the drinks. What a terrible experience! Will not return and someone should take responsibility for stealing from the guests. Be forewarned!!!!

Yelp
Service was horrible. At check in they lost my luggage and when I went to investigate were rude to me. They put it in the wrong room. Was delivered two hours later so we missed the pool. Room service food was horrible as well as at the pool. Service at the pool was slow and they were rude. In the end we hit the beach and local restaurants. For a luxury hotel this wasn't great. Would not return.

Yelp
This review is only for the lounge/bar area by the pool. We decided to check out the W hotel on our last day in Barcelona to simply unwind and relax. We enjoyed their Mango and Strawberry Mojitos (my favorite was the strawberry). We also ordered the falafel and hummus appetizer which was very good as well. The service was what really made our day delightful. Some tables have plugs to charge your cell phones which were also a plus. We had a waiter named Victor who was wonderful! Ask for him when you visit! He asked about our trip, where we were from, and offered places to go to for dinner. When we told him we were celebrating our honeymoon he offered us some delicious chocolates to celebrate! We really enjoyed our day here!

Yelp
************** 1690 ************* Just like other W hotels, modern furnished room, Heavenly bed and bathroom amenities standard. Just right by the water and 15 mins stroll to the touristy places. Nice gym, Sunday pool party, the bartenders here were cute and know their stuff. Minus some escorts at the bar, which I also run into at most W hotel bars when there's a conference going on! (Don't ask me how I run into them! You know them when they are sitting near you at the bar!). Good service overall for PLAT SPG members. The hotel is good but there's so many other cool hotels that I want to check out next time.

Yelp
Came here on a business trip. Most rooms have a nice view of the beach if you are on the higher floors. They are a bit cheap on the toiletries, but you can request more if you run out. Location is not convenient at all if you want to explore the city. It's all the way at the end of the beach so you have to take a cab every time. They have a great breakfast option (as spg platinum, not sure if its included in regular rate). There is also a pool, but it was too cold to try it out. Overall the hotel is really nice, but the location makes it difficult to recommend for a leisure trip.

Yelp
We made a reservation for the rooftop bar and when we arrived they would not let us up to the top because we had shopping bags. The front desk would not let us check bags at the desk either so we went all the way from our hotel for no reason, missed the sunset and the view. Tbe staff was disgusting and rude. Trashiest hotel and guests I have ever seen. Waste of money and trash.

Yelp
Staying at the W in Barcelona is no different than staying at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach... For many, this sounds great but coming from the U.S. I felt I never left home and although that may be a preference for some I tend to enjoy the cultural differences when traveling halfway around the world. The W undeniably is deserving of 5 stars for amazing views and impeccable service throughout our stay but to me it lacks the true essence of Barcelona and I felt disconnected from the city which is why I kicked its 5th star to the curb. The hotel is located right on Barceloneta... and its manmade beach, now I'm familiar with nude beaches from prior travels where women parade the sands topless with their goodies in the air but this experience was a little different. We're talking full out nudity. Booty, boobies and yahoos...all over- male and female- young and old including children. If you're a little uncomfortable with the thought, this beach life is not for you. The rooms at the W for the most part all seem to have amazing views of the ocean and the boardwalk along the beach. One of the most amazing layouts considering the bed faces the huge panoramic windows with the views. Hotel itself is upbeat, modern and trendy...typical of what most W hotels encompass. Its pretty much a party hotel catering to a sophisticated young crowd. The hotel is awesome but as a second time visitor to this beautiful city, my preference lies with staying in a hotel in the heart of the city around one of the main squares as I did our first time around. Full access to cafes, train stations and historical sites without the need of taxis.

Yelp
The W hotel is in a beautiful location. If you are not someone who is there to party do not stay on the lower beach side of the hotel. The rooms thump until 1 AM and if you are planning on sleeping you will be in trouble. If you're going to be out and not trying to sleep it is a beautiful view. It is a contemporary hotel with a very young vibe. The beach is super nice and many attractions are within walking distance. It is right next to the Gothic region with all the small streets. Plenty of great places to visit and see.
