We stayed here for 2 nights on Friday April 18 and Saturday April 19 2025. We flew from Montreal, Canada for a quick weekend trip. Loved the central location, close to everything and downtown. Best part is being connected to so many restaurants and the large Bellevue Square mall, all shops can be accessed indoors through connecting skywalks. There is so much to do within just a few steps it can be overwhelming.
There is paid valet parking ($47), otherwise free self serve parking underground on weekends.
The hotel itself is super modern, slick, stylish and vibrant. The lobby area and bar transforms into a nightclub basically over night but if you are staying on the upper floors you will not hear a thing. We had some trouble checking in, as our reservation was initially booked by someone else and the staff had to keep us waiting for quite a while before we could get to our room. They offered free water bottles while we waited then we got coupons for free drinks at the bar along with a food coupon if we wanted to eat at one of the restaurants.
We were on the 7th floor in room 731. It has 2 queen size beds, a large couch area you can lay on close to the window and huge bathroom with enormous glass shower. The toilet is in a separate closed room. I loved how open concept the design was, you can shower with the doors open in full view or choose to use the sliding doors for more privacy. The amenities provided were top notch luxury - there is a bottle of face wash, body lotion and bar soap at the sink. Then in the shower, you have "Davines Momo" shampoo, conditionner and shower gel. All products were new and fully restocked, you get full bottles of products, nothing half empty or previously used. There is a card in the room stating you can take a bottle home for a fee of $45 or buy these online.
In terms of comfort, bedding, mattress and pillows were very comfortable and I am usually difficult in this department since I suffer from back issues.
Only complaint is the light switches which work on sensors, we had a hard time figuring this out and particularly the toilet area had a sensor where the light always came on whenever we walked in. We asked the front desk about this and they even sent a mechanical guy/engineer to assist but they could not disable the sensor or change it. His suggestion, which I had already tried, was to cover the light panel with a piece of tape or paper. We tried this, but to no avail, whenever we used the bathroom in the middle of the night, the light would still turn on. This is blinding and a real disturbance. It can be hard to fall back asleep when this happens, and bothersome to other people in the room too. I am wondering if there was another sensor in the ceiling or elsewhere, we just could not disable it.
If anyone is reading this working at W or Mariott, please please come up with an alternative or fix. It is a real pain to have lights going on and off when you don't want them to.
