Here’s your review: It had probably been over 15 years since I last visited W Burger Bar, so I was curious to see how it held up. I went for dinner first, then returned later for a birthday celebration. For dinner, I had the brisket burger on a lettuce bun, along with calamari and a Caesar salad. The burger was solid, and the lettuce bun was surprisingly sturdy—more like an actual bun than the usual limp lettuce wrap you’d get at Wendy’s. The Caesar salad was also better than expected, but the calamari was a definite miss. Wouldn’t recommend it. The place hasn’t changed much, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s cozy, and the service was decent. Later in the night, we came back with a larger group, and our server (who also served us earlier) was incredibly patient. They even brought out a surprise dessert for the birthday boy, which was a nice touch! Overall, W Burger Bar is a fun spot with interesting burger options. I’d recommend it, especially if you’re looking for a casual, no-frills place to grab a bite with friends.

Pretty good dinner experience. We went on a Friday night. Place was packed wall to wall. Making a reservation is always the smart way to do. The service was great and fast. Food was very tasty and good portions. The only flaw I found was the music was pretty loud, me and my companions were almost shouting at each other.

Google
It's the best nachos restaurant!!! 🤩🌟🌟🌟👍 The nachos I ordered instead of burgers at the recommendation of my friend was really fantastic. Not only did they give me a lot of meat, it was satisfying just to dip it in fresh guacamole and chips. Add guacamole!!! 🥑🥑🥑💪 Unfortunately, wine was not my cup of tea. If I had ordered beer, I would have been more satisfied.

Google
Great burgers, great atmosphere, digging the late 90's rock playing the entire time we were there!! Reasonable prices, and very tasty. The deep friend icecr eam was delightful.

Google
2.50 for a beer and Thursday nights have incredible deals like half price wings or nachos. Can't beat these prices. The suicide wings are genuinely my favorite wings in the city at the moment - better than St. Louis and Duff's. They're meaty, crispy, and saucy. Suicide and WBB are both incredibly tasty. I've had the nachos a few times and they're great and a huge portion size for their price. My friends really enjoyed the burgers too. I personally always go for the wings. Had a lot of good times here with my international friends. The service has always been great. This place is popular for a good reason. One small criticism is that when there's a big line, it can be awkward walking in and finding a staff member who isn't super busy to let them know about a new group to put on the waiting list. Would be nice to have an organized system such as getting a form near the entrance, filling it out, and waiting for our number to be called. But that's not a big deal. Easy 5 stars for this place. Recommended!

Google
A pitcher for $11 something is all I need. I visited during happy hour and they had some nice deals for $6.50, like sliders or potato skins. 100% worth the visit.

Melody C.

Google
You must come during HAPPY HOUR. Crazy cheap drinks and snacks. The food is okay, it's normal. The drinks are okay as well, but they're just so cheap which is why people keep coming! They're served in cute fish bowls too. Really great place for a cute dinner before going out, you can pregame here :)

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt it was important to share our experience. We visited Burger Bar recently and, unfortunately, were quite disappointed with the service. The server’s tone and overall behavior came across as dismissive and unwelcoming, which really affected the atmosphere of our visit. We were looking forward to enjoying our time there, but the lack of basic courtesy and professionalism left us feeling uncomfortable. I hope this feedback can be taken constructively, as every guest deserves to feel respected and valued. A little more attentiveness and friendliness could really make a big difference. Thank you

Yelp

Yelp
Located right at College Station and a short walk from Toronto Met (Ryerson) and UofT, this was a go-to spot when I was a student. My friends and I still drop in from time to time when we want some cheap drinks and burgers. I'd describe this spot as the local university bar so expect it to be loud, kind of dirty, and the servers are nice but might not be the most on top of it. Burger Bar offers a variety of burgers from your regular beef to veggie options and even more adventurous meats such as Elk, Kangaroo, and Boar. You can get a sampler set to try them all too. There are lunch specials and a happy hour everyday, cheap shooters and a beer special ($2.25 for a 12oz PBR or $11.25 for a pitcher). They have also recently installed a photo booth that is fun, though it's not in the best location. If you're looking for a great dining experience this probably wouldn't be my first recommendation, but for some bites, cheap drinks, and a casual vibe this isn't a bad option.

Yelp
Didn't try the food. Came here for the cheap beer specials. 2.25 12 oz beer cups or 60oz 11.25 pitchers Pabst blue ribbon The place can be described as a college bar, floors are sticky so smelly tables but you can watch the game. The service was extremely weird, when I signalled for service the waiter said don't wave at me. He had asked us if we wanted a pitcher, our group said yes but he didn't put in the order. Strange times. It happened twice. We also had to remind him about the 18 percent gratuity charge which he didn't input in the machine.

Yelp
One of my go to burger joints. They have quite a selection of different patties. Pretty much everything you can think of, including unusual options like elk and kangaroo. I go for the basic beef burger which is nicely seasoned, but not the juiciest. To be honest, my favourite part of the meal here are the panko crusted onion rings. They are huge and always perfectly fried to provide a nice crunch. The drink menu is also nice. They offer some inexpensive beers. In terms of the atmosphere, it's comfortable, but not too fancy. It can get quite loud though.

Simon H.

Yelp
Amazing. I got the Elk Burger, love that it was even an option. Excellent drink menu. I see complaints about service on here but we had a nice time. We sat outside which was loud but I liked it. Excellent onion rings, good goat cheese.

Yelp
This place was a lot of fun!! I went around 4pm on Thursday to squeeze in some food and drinks before happy hour ended. I have to say we were expecting something a little more lively (we saw a TikTok advertising it) but to be fair it was 4pm lol. It, of course, got progressively busier as time passed and with that the ambiance improved. The location was cute, right off the subway to its an easy commute from wherever you're at. The inside is well air conditioned. The patio is decent, it's not very well separated from the street. The wait staffer were very friendly and helpful and the service in general was speedy and great even when it was busier. The drinks were really good (we did some shots and then the bar rail doubles since it was within happy hour). Make sure you drink plenty of water though because the shots are super sweet, definitely the recipe for a terrible hangover. The food was good, although we only really tried from the bites menu. I will be going back to try the burgers. The calamari and potato skins are very good! Definitely recommend. The place was all in all very fun!! The cheap food and drinks were definitely a huge plus.

Yelp
My friends and I went to the restaurant for some food and drinks before a night out and right before the server brought our bills, a cockroach crawled on the booth beside my friends head. We obviously freaked out but we told the server and she didn't even apologize, just said that they just did a spray for them in the whole restaurant. It was a disgusting experience. I asked to speak to the manager just to inform them and they never came. So we just paid and then left.

Kaitlyn M.

Yelp
This is one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The service was terrible, I have been in the service industry for 10+ years and have never experienced a situation like this. We had a group of 10 co-workers. When we arrived the server proceeded to write on our hands "numbers" so he could remember our orders. I have never even been written on by permanent markers at a restaurant in my life. He never attended to our table and I had to ask him 5 times for a glass of water. He wanted to cash us out 30 minutes before the end of our reservation and kept rushing us to leave. At the end of the night he confused all of the bills and added shots, I only paid because I wanted to get out of the place. We complained to management and he was rude and dismissive. He did not offer any solutions whatsoever. Please if you want to have an enjoyable experience never go here !!! The food isn't good and there's such better options in Toronto.

Yelp
Local unassuming restaurant/bar which seems to be a favorite among the college students in the area. I had a cheeseburger which was very good considering how affordable it was. Service was quick which was another plus considering how busy other restaurants were at that time.

Yelp
I went with my friend to watch the masters and we got exquisite customer service from a lovely bartender who was enthusiastic and a good vibe, overall. we Stan bartender Chris (the baby face fella)

Yelp
One of my favorite after work spots to grab a drink and some food with friends. They have a private red room you can use for big groups or for beer pong if you book in advance. I'm not sure of the exact hours but I think it's like 3-6pm they have a happy hour with really good rails, beer and $5 food items. Note sooooo many locals know about this happy hour so the place will usually be packed, best to call in advance and make a reservation if your group is more than 4 people. Some of the $5 food items are beef sliders and fries, Fish tacos and friend calamari.

Yelp
I had dinner here with my husband and a good friend of mine with whom I used to work. Overall, the food was good, but it was way too loud in there and made catching up really difficult. My husband and I got there first, so we started off with some half fries-half sweet potato fries ($3.75) to munch on while we waited for my friend. They were hot and crispy and really good. I thought that they would separate the different types of fries, like one on each side, but they were all mixed together. Not really a big deal, but thought that I would mention it. For my main, I got the turkey burger ($9.25) on a lettuce bun. I love how they have some unusual free toppings that you can order, and lots of cool sauces too. I got sauteed onions, tomatoes, beets and alfalfa sprouts. I also got chipotle mustard and chipotle ketchup. Let me tell you, the chipotle condiments were spicy and added a nice kick to the burger. The lettuce bun was iceberg lettuce. I would have preferred it if they used Boston lettuce, but iceberg admittedly holds together better, even though it's my least favourite of all the lettuces. The turkey burger itself was well cooked and very flavourful. Not too salty, nor too fatty/greasy. Toppings were fresh and tasted well together. I found it a little pricey for just a burger, but I think these are the prices for downtown Toronto. My husband had the slider sampler ($21.99). This was a platter of 6 sliders: (I think they were) beef, brisket, kobe, bison, lamb and turkey. They came on tiny little sesame seed buns. I didn't have any, but the hubby said they were good. You can't chose the toppings on these, they come with default toppings which are different for each slider. My friend had the lamb burger ($11.75) and he added some premium toppings which they charge for, cheese ($1.75) and avocado ($2.50) and he also got the onion rings ($4.75). The onion rings were huge! Like each one was bigger than my palm. He was kind enough to give me one and it was good, but because of the size, the onion wasn't as soft as I like. The panko breading was crunchy, but I think I like regular battered onion rings better. Our server was very nice and attentive. I think his name was Anthony (he had a British accent). We were there at 6pm and I was surprised how loud the place was, considering it was still early. By around 8:30pm it had gotten unbearably loud and we had to leave because we couldn't take the noise any longer. Overall, good food, but a little pricey in my opinion, and way too loud for my taste.

Yelp
Food here is great! Love the choices for burgers and meats. Got their calamari and was so happy I did. I found the service to be a bit lacking and did take a while to be served drinks. Overall great place for burgers and beer

Yelp
Our server tried to add random things to our bill! And then got mad at us when we tried to point it out. So wild, and from reviews on Google it seems like this has happened before! Why is management okay with this, why is this person still working there? Watch your bills when going here as it seems like they like to add random stuff assuming that their clientele will be drunk and in a big group that won't say anything/notice. Never experienced such a blatant act. They served the extra food that we didn't order and then got mad and took it away when we pointed out we didn't order it lol an entire pitcher we did not order was on our bill too which was not served. At first I thought it must be a genuine mistake, although weird that there were so many mistakes (4 extra items!). Then I saw other reviews with the same problem by the same server. Also the food is mid. I guess young people come here to get lit and because it's 'cheap'. There's definitely better dive-y bars with better and cheaper food/drinks in Toronto.

Yelp
These lunch specials are CHEAP. The drinks are CHEAPPPP. U on that 2020 new year's resolution save money? Come here LOL. Came here for lunch on a weekday and they offer 2 lunch specials: $6.99 for a beef burger and fries OR $12 for burger (veg, portobello, brisket, beef, chicken, turkey) + fries + pop. I ordered the chicken burger - it was basically an entire chicken boob... pleasantly surprised. You can choose as many toppings as you want, they have sooo many sauces to choose from! It's a very haphazardly made burger so it got very messy to eat. And the toppings and all the sauce made the bun soakeddddd so it basically fell apart a quarter of the way. All in all, it was a very average burger. Nothing special. The fries were fresh and there was a generous portion to it! Their regular menu offers more unique burgers: kangaroo, elk, etc. If that's yo thanggg

Yelp
unfortunately since my first visit, I would have to say that burger bar has lost a star for me due to my last two experiences. the first time the food was good and service was exceptional. I cannot say the same currently last month when I went the server was very disorganized , he assigned us all with numbers to memorize from 1-15 which is unprofessional. Having been a waiter, customers are assigned numbers but you memorize it yourself, not give the responsibility to the customer. next up he got all our orders wrong, all the burgers had random toppings in it mine had onions in it and not the sauces that I ordered. lastly, it was someone's birthday so we asked for their bill to be split and he said figure it out yourself... anyways he messed up all our bills anyways so he had to reprint them and when we asked for the birthday bill to be split again he then said yes now our recent visit was slightly better because at least we got the right items but the service was still questionable. again we went in a large group and again we were assigned numbers to memorize, I don't know if they changed the system because previously I did not have this experience. we were all missing utensils before the food was given and no water was given. When I asked her for water she said "I'll try my best". that is very strange , luckily we did get water but 20 minutes later or so. the burgers are still pretty and good and fries are amazing but the service here is bad to say the least. Yelp
We ordered the cheapest and most expensive burger and got 2 cheap burgers, tasted accordingly. Ordered sides, not worth the Money and some incorrect. Ordered from Uber eats so did not expect hot but expected correct.

Yelp
Decide what you want to be. Food: I enjoyed my burger and fries, all well done and good flavors. Pretty solid beer selection. The place seemed like it had taken over an old, cheap singles nightclub and didn't bother to do much other than put up some flatscreens. The chairs were dinged up and a few broken foot rests on the bar stools. The manager was nice enough and attentive, but good food may not be enough. Clean and light up the place some and you'd have a home run.

Yelp
Looking for cheap date night? I found W Burger Bar. They had a happy hour that included 5 dollar apps. Also pitchers of PBR and Fishbowl mix drinks are 10 dollars all day. This seemed like a good idea My girlfriend and I arrived after work and there was a line. We didn't wait to long but, the restaurant was quite busy. It was a mix of college students and office types. Once we sat. We just made happy hour. I got the sliders and fries combo for 5 bucks and cheeseburger spring rolls also 5 bucks. My girlfriend got a beefy poutine. It was a traditional poutine topped up with diced hamburger patty. My cheeseburger spring roll were fantastic. Crispy and full of cheeseburger filling. The texture was more egg roll but dipping it in ketchup was delicious. The sliders were good too. The came dressed with just ketchup and mustard. It was simple but good, for 5 bucks I cannot complain. The fries were good. They were homemade shoestring and it had a nice amount of salt. My girlfriends poutine was okay, while the flavor was good, the beef added to much salt. We both agreed the shoestring fries didn't hold up to the gravy. We were pretty full but, saw a waffle and ice cream sandwich. It was quite simple but reminded me of the one you get at the CNE. It was sweet and cool ice cream outside a crusty crunchy warm waffle. Simple but delicious. My final thoughts is I would definitely return to W Burger Bar. It might be the best value for drinking and eating in the city. Good food and cheap drinks can't complain!

Yelp
A really good burger joint! We all got the regular beef burger and they have a good variety of toppings to choose from! The fries were really good and my friend got that onion rings which were also very good. Very inexpensive and I would come back for another burger.

Yelp
It was a Thursday evening - one night I had gathered all my best girls to come join me after I was cordially invited by W Burger Bar to come try out their famous Beer Pong Tables which were a recent addition to their fine establishment. Being a curious, enthusiastic blogger, I jumped right on the invitation and made way for it into my schedule - it turned out to be one of the most fun nights I've had in awhile! I made our reservation for 8:30pm that night, and my group and I were greeted by none other than the manager, Sean himself. I had the privilege of meeting him as well during my first visit to W Burger Bar with my older cousin, who was closely acquainted to him previously (do check out my first visit to W Burger Bar also here! http://foodieutopia.blogspot.ca/2016/03/w-burger-bar.html). He was very hospitable and immediately had the beer ready for us to start our first round. He even taught us how to play (since it was really only my second time playing beer pong!) and we gradually got ourselves into the game. You can really tell that W Burger Bar catered for fun nights - the ambiance was beautifully themed, with wall art of famous rock stars against nice, red painted walls. In addition to a great interior, there were also wall mounted TVs where customers could watch some channels. I believe that night some sports channels were playing, so if you're a sports fanatic and you're looking for fun, W Burger Bar has it for you! My girlfriends and I were truly impressed. We started off quite slow, after all it was our first time in awhile trying this out! Sean was very patient though and helped us with anything we needed. Soon enough, practice made perfect, and we started making our own shots into the cups in no time! The night carried on, and with a few rounds my girlfriends and I started to really have a great time - we caught ourselves in all the excitement of playing the game, and with perfect timing, W Burger Bar came to our tables with some appetizers to eat: The appetizers were prepared very nicely - my favourite starter was probably their Beef Nachos, though the Fried Calamari and their Panko Breaded Shrimp were also delicacies which all my girlfriends enjoyed while we finished off some great rounds of beer pong. The Fried Calamari ad Panko Breaded Shrimp were new additions to the menu according to Sean - and what an addition they are! I'm sure that incoming customers to W Burger Bar will surely enjoy all these starters, as well as many of their selections at their establishment such as their burgers. Unfortunately this visit I couldn't eat one, but definitely a recommendation to all my readers here on Foodie Utopia. Making this visit to W Burger Bar was a change for me - usually I have always just gone to restaurants and ordered food. W Burger Bar offered not only the food, but the pong, the beer and all the fun I could possibly have right in the 6ix with only the greatest of company. If any of you readers are looking for fun out in the heart of downtown, do reserve a table for beer pong with W Burger Bar. For an individual like myself who certainly enjoys trying new things and exploring all the fun there has to offer - I can say with confidence that W Burger Bar will not fail to please you, and exceed your expectations in all aspects! Thank you to W Burger Bar, for inviting me to try it, it was a blast! Check out the full review here: https://foodieutopiablog.com/2016/08/15/w-burger-bar-exclusive-beer-pong/

Yelp
Went to this place twice. And both times, it was amazing. Highly recommend you give this place a try. Their menu offers a variety of meats, game, salmon and veggie options. Go for their lunch special - $9.99 for a burger and fries. Worth it! They don't skimp on the size of the burger and the amount of fries. Extra toppings like avocado, cheese, bacon etc. cost extra. Sides are extra too, but reasonably priced. The service was above standard. The server greeted us when we walked through the door. Asked if we had been there before and informed us of the specials. Wasn't intrusive during our time there. She did come to our table to ask if we needed anything else during the middle of our meal. The ambience was warm and relaxing. No loud music or television blaring. You actually don't have to yell across the table to have a conversation. The place was very clean. My pet peeve is when the table and chairs have left over "crumbs" from the previous diners. This was not the case. Give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Hubby & I shared the sliders tasting platter with the 1/2 regular fries & 1/2 sweet potato fries & onion rings. I was really surprised to see the burgers come in fully dressed with condiments. I'm allergic to some condiments & hate the taste of others. So because they came with ketchup, mayo, mustard etc I could actually eat only two of the sliders that didn't have any condiments on them. The Kobe slider tasted strange to me. And the overall presentation was sloppy. The regular fries tasted like they were over-salted. But I liked the sweet potato fries. The onion rings were gigantic and the batter they were coated in didn't have any flavour. The food was really disappointing. They only had two waitresses running the whole space with one manager, two cooks & one bus boy. Despite this the service was actually okay. One of the waitresses was really nice & the manager actually served us as well. But the other waitress was walking around with a sneer on her face. She looked like she could care less about anything going on there. But perhaps she was having a bad day. As for the look of the place, it looks less swanky in the light of day. There was food on the floor that didn't get swept up. Anyway after the lunch both my husband & I felt nauseous. Needless to say we won't be coming back.

Yelp
I came here for dinner on a Sunday, becauseI was craving a good, thick, and juicy burger. I ordered the ground brisket burger with half sweet potatoes half potato fries, and a glass of Pabst Blue Ribbon. It took quite some time, around 10 to 15 minutes, despite a nearly empty restaurant. The burger was visually impressive, with a gloriously thick patty. Unfortunately, its flavour, while good, left something to be desired, and it was a little on the dry side. If you're someone who likes their burgers medium or rarer, this will be quite too dry. The fries were a little soft and had lost much of their crispiness by the time they made it to the table. The chipotle mayo they were served with was okay. All in all, this was a competent dinner, but the restaurant's mediocre service and the dish's failure to impress prevented it from earning a five-star rating.

Yelp
try the cheese burger spring rolls very yummy would come back coming back tomorrow would reccomend a try!

Yelp
Used to go here a lot. Prices were good and the food even better. The service is friendly but it's always busy (pre covid). Very young crowd largely students and tourists. The bathrooms are pretty bad, so don't go down there - this isn't a fancy place or a place to bring your kids, but I would liken it to a dive with better tasting food.

Yelp
Good burgers for a great price. W burger bar is my go to near work. Lunch special combo for $8 for a burger and fries, can't be beat. There is no limit to the amount of topping you can ask for to stack on this sucker. I usually stick to a plain burger or cheeseburger, but they offer a whole range of animal meat patties to choose from.

Yelp
Wow. I'm shocked at how terrible the service was here.... Stay tuned for a heck of a story time. I have to add an extra star for the food... shots are cheap, food isn't bad, and my first experience here was impeccable. My waiter was kind, she was knowledgeable and made no mistakes. Now, the second time around, we got a man with an Australian accent who was horrendous. First off, he didn't really educate us on the menu as a lot of my first timer friends didn't know that the burger didn't come with fries and that there were toppings you had to choose, and was really annoyed at us about that. Then, he was extremely unprofessional and gave us numbers to memorize based on our seat. I worked in the restaurant industry before and that's something the waiter should memorize, not assign to guests? The worst part was that he got ALL of our orders wrong. We were nice enough to just accept it and eat up, but honestly that is UNACCEPTABLE. We all got random different condiments... an onion here, a pickle here, no sauce, 4 sauces... it was truly a mess. To top it all off, we were celebrating a birthday and while we didn't even ask for the bill, he just gave them to us (ALL MESSED UP). One girl had all the gratuities charged to her bill, and one bill had like 3 people's meals on it. As a waiter, do you not look over the bill before you present them? Since they were all wrong anyways, we asked the waiter VERY NICELY if we could PLEASE SPLIT THE BIRTHDAY BOYS BILL AMONGST ALL OF US. The waiter said "DO IT URSELF". If that's not bad service, I don't know what is.

Yelp
Cheap drinks and great service! Can't complain here. I came here with a total of 6 people on a Friday night. I was told that it gets really busy here especially on a Friday night, so I made reservations ahead of time. We reserved for 7pm and we had a few late comers by 730 (there was a snow storm that day LOL). It didn't get busy till around 8-830pm. As for food, it was mediocre. I ordered the fish tacos, angus beef hot dog, and a bison burger for 2 people. The fish tacos came in 3 pieces, really small and was alright - the fish pieces were really small in size and costs $12. Other places are bigger and tastes better for that price. The hot dog was just a hot dog. I didn't try the bison burger, my boyfriend ordered because he's never bison before. He was really excited for this one but wasn't feeling it after 2 bites. Maybe it's just the meat? Has to be grilled a certain way for it to stay moist and tender? He said it was really dry and bland. They have so many other things that I wouldn't mind trying if I came back again, but def won't order any of the 3 we picked. Food 2.5 Service 4.5

Yelp
Overall, the burger was pretty good. But I fear that if I eat here too often, I'll die sooner! My burger was a little overcooked, but I really loved the complimentary condiments that W Burger Bar offered. The patty was a little bland, and could've used a little more seasoning. On the other hand, the thick-cut onion rings really blew my mind off. They were sooo delicious! I totally neglected the fries after tasting the onion rings!

Yelp
The best chicken sandwich in Toronto. I've never eaten a burger there because of this damn chicken sandwich. It's the best. Place is small and loud and service could be a touch better. But, I never miss this place when I'm around.

Yelp
I'd give this place a 3.5 rating from my order of a beef burger with a side of sweet potato fries. I bumped it to a 4 because of the complimentary carrot and celery sticks that they offer at the beginning of the meal. It adds a nice touch! The beef patty was quite large, though a little dry in the center but was well complemented by the assortment of available toppings. I especially liked that they offered sautéed onions and alfalfa sprouts as options :) The fries were stringy and chewy - the type you could nibble away on without feeling full until it finally hits you. I personally enjoyed them more than the typical starchy thick-cut fries. Service was friendly but a bit slow and the restaurant was emptier than expected for a Saturday evening. I wouldn't mind coming back for the lunch specials, which appeared to have some good deals.

Yelp
As a student who is very light-weight and has a very tight budget, W Burger Bar is my absolute go-to for alcoholic drinks. The place gets pretty busy in the evening, so be prepared to wait for an available seat! Most of the shots cost $2 to $3, and consist of an alcoholic beverage (like vodka or tequila) mixed with juice. In all honestly, the shots are quite diluted, so if you have a somewhat high tolerance to alcohol, you may have to order a lot of the drinks! I am very light-weight as previously stated, so I have no problem with the composition of the shots. I normally get the Poutine Québécoise as a snack, which is fairly good, but can be a bit too drenched in gravy at times! The beef sliders are also super delicious. If you want a giant snack to share with some friends while drinking, the Vegetarian Nachos is a must! It is the perfect portion for about 4 people. Just like any other bar, most people order a pitcher of beer and of course, a few of the signature cheap shots.

Yelp
As how it usually is, I was lured here not by the food but by the promise of booooooze - spiked milkshakes and 3 shot fishbowls were too heavenly of a proposition to turn down. I didn't order a burger, but a lot of people in our party did. As far as I can tell, having poached a few bites off a friend, they were fine. Solid burgers. The fries were the really thin, crispy kind - you can get them plain or in poutine form; it's a nice change from the starchy, fat, meaty fries that you usually find in poutine. Overall, good food but nothing exciting, which was OK since food was secondary to my goal. As I like to think, there are three cures for mediocre food: good, good enough, or enough alcohol. Got the pineapple fishbowl - it's served in a cute little fishbowl. It's pretty potent, especially since it really just tasted like straight juice. Couldn't really detect the vodka sting to it, which was a little scary since we were sitting at the bar and I definitely saw her put it into my drink. We're talking creepy frat party levels of mysterious punch. Really enjoyed it, and quite a deal for $10. The spiked shakes were very good too - solid, creamy and thick. They were pretty sweet, and covered with whipped cream. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, so it was actually a bit much for me. Definitely worth a try!

Yelp
Best place to go out with your friends! Drinks are incredible cheap and delicious! I definitely recommend getting the fishbowl (raspberry riptide and the watermelon one was my favourite). Shot are so cheap and good as well. Food is great as well! Nachos are to die for here, and they are around $15 and huge and delicious (chicken is way better than beef but beef was still good). Their caesar salad with chicken was also AMAZING for a salad. Definitely go here with your friends for the best night out!!

Yelp
Good burger! I came to this place on Halloween night! The place was packed and there were only 3 servers and a hostess working! The girl who was responsible for our table was exhausted! She was stressed out and annoyed! I could get that by looking at her face! It was like she hated her job! My husband asked her to add Garlic Herb Sauce in his burger, which she forgot! When the burger came, it was dry without any sauce! He told her about it and she said she'll be bringing it as a side... More than 10 minutes passed no sauce came and we were so hungry I almost was about to finish my burger! She never came to our table and asked about how the things were going! My husband had to go to the front and find her and remind her of the sauce!!! The glasses of water were empty and again I had to find her and ask her to fill them up! The burger was so tasty and delicious though! The bun was roasted. I ordered their Beef Pure Burger and my husband ordered their Lamb Burger. We ordered onion rings, which was so goooood and sweet potato fries as sides. Half of the fries were dried and kinda burned! :( I think b/c it was around 11pm and they were closing we were the last ones who ordered sweet potato fries and they just put whatever leftover was! I know the night was busy as hell, but please pay more attention to your customers! You are not a self-service restaurant! 3 Stars only goes to the taste of Burger only that's it!

Yelp
Ok tried the kobe beef burger again this time I know better than to get the "defaults". Anyway on Wednesdays they have their Kobe Beef Burger at $9.99 which is a lot more palatable on the wallet than their regular price. So I had it with the garlic herb mayonnaise and tomatoes as the toppings on whole wheat bread to keep things simple. This time around it is way better just because there were not as much things to hide the flavour and texture of the meat. Taste wise, it is more fragrant than a regular burger, it's almost like eating minced marbleized steak that is pan fried. Though I kind of wish they didn't have any cartilage so a bit lot lack of quality control with the meat, but overall the taste was good. The mayonnaise and tomatoes I chose did bring up the meat taste better. If you can tolerate spices, I think you should try with the chipotle mayonnaise instead of what I got. I would still go again, but very rare as the price is a bit high.

Yelp
How can you say no to $2.50 shooters? This place has one of the cheapest drinks so if you're ready to have a drunken night, pre drink here! You can also get their special beer for $10. I tried their mojito in their mason jar for $7.50- it tasted really delciois!

Yelp
I have been meaning to come here for awhile, so when a Groupon came up, it was the perfect opportunity. It seemed a little expensive at first glace for the amount of food you received, but I was pleasantly surprised at how filling and delicious everything was. The place was a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. There were patio seats at the front, a bar that you could sit at, and then a number of seats that stretched down the hallway to a big back area. I had the lamb burger and dressed it with tzatiki, feta, onions and tomato. It was cooked perfectly with generous toppings. I added the panko crusted onion rings. OMG so delicious. The portion was pretty big, so next time I would probably share the side. I was delighted to see the variety on the menu. It wasn't just burgers. There were a number of other things I wanted to try. I was also surprised to see tons of drink specials. I didn't realize that it really had a bar atmosphere (my bad, considering it says "bar" right in the name) Service was friendly and fairly quick. Lots of people there watching the hockey game - which you could see from any seat in the house on big flat screens. Definitely one of the best gourmet burger joints I've tried in Toronto so far.

Yelp
I came here for lunch with a friend around 1pm on a weekday. We made a reservation so the seating was quick. We ordered the lunch special which was a burger and fries for $6.99. You can choose unlimited toppings and sauces (there is a lot to choose from!). Some unique options were adding sprouts, carmelized onions, cilantro to your burger. My only tiff with W Burger is the long time it took to bring the food out. Over 30 minutes!! For 2 burgers (which is their...specialty). We were on our lunch break so waiting that long for the food was really frustrating. When the burger finally came, it was delicious. The serving size is huge and the flavour payoff was great. The fries are very yummy too- just how I like it- not too crispy and not soft. For the price, it was well worth it. However I would suggest to management to increase the number of employees working during lunch hour as the wait time for the food was long and we saw the same 2 servers running around between all tables.

Yelp
This is the best affordable burger place that I know in Toronto but also the worst when it comes to customer service. Not that the staff are rude or not friendly, but because it took 25 mins for 2 burgers and 2 fries to come!! And it was hard to get someone's attention as it seemed like there were only 2 servers on the floor during a weekday lunch hour. Why I like this restaurant: 1. Recurring Promotions (e.g: $6.99 for a burger + fries) 2. Value for money 3. Unlimited toppings 4. Unique burger meats (Bison, Kangaroo, ... - Not that I've tried any of them) 5. Conveniently located Why I don't like: 1. Too slow I will definitely come back when I have time to spare and not during my lunch hour or when I'm in a hurry. Price: 5/5 Food: 4.5/5 Service: 2.5/5

Yelp
Ordered nachos for pickup. Hardly any cheese mainly just chips, and there was a huge stack of lettuce on this that I had to threw out. The chicken is separate so it's not like attached to the nachos with cheese or anything. Gross.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. Huge portions, delicious food, bomb service. Unpretentious setting - not too trendy, but clean and modern, great vibes. The three of us first shared a MASSIVE plate of pulled pork nachos (they did not skimp! it was totally delicious and we totally devoured it) then followed it up with the sampler sliders (which were adorably plated). In order of least to most delicious, it would have to be the bison, lamb, kobe, turkey, beef, then the brisket for me. All of them were delicious with the exception of the bison - too tough and those grassy sprouts did not do it any good. Cranberry sauce on the turkey was great although the meat itself was a bit dry. One of us really loved the lamb. Spicy ketchup on the lamb and kobe was a bit hot for me, but I'm certainly an outlier when it comes to spice. Can't go wrong with classic beef, but the brisket was two of us' definite favourite - very tender, juicy, just lovely! We also had some shooters which were hilariously ripe with innuendo: I Wanna Leia (delicious & sweet, kind of Kool-Aid-y), Honey Dew Me (bitter and not that tasty), Blue Balls (listerine, bleh), Broken Down Golf Cart (one of my favourites, $2 special as it's being taken off the menu, unfortunately). Service was top notch too. All this and splitting a Pabst comes to around $25 a person. DAMN. And those nachos - too good. We all went home with three unplanned food babies. Final Verdict: want to come back and try everything (which I promptly did). The nachos weren't as good as the first time, but you can't go wrong with this place.

Yelp
Yeah for $2.50 shooters! My friend and I came here on a Monday night. To be honest, I thought this place was closed as we were literally the only customers when we walked in! The ratio between customers and workers were probably 1:5.. but, this means very attentive and fast service, which was amazing! My friend and I ordered, the mini pitcher to share, 2 blue balls ;), and 2 pink lemonade. For food, we ordered the calamari, 1/2 sweet potato 1/2 reg potato fries, and the sampler sliders. Yumyum. Can't go wrong with the drinks! As per the food, I would recommend chowing down on everything as it comes out as it did get cold very quickly! Will be back for more! Who can say no to cheap drinks.. especially in downtown!!

Yelp
W Burger Bar is a modern establishment on Yonge and College offers a variety of burgers, alcohol, and other bar items. A couple of weeks back, my friends and I decided to go for drinks after an early dinner at Grill Time. We decided upon seeing W Burger Bar as the weather got colder, and we didn't want to walk any longer. The modern establishment on Yonge and College offers a variety of burgers, alcohol, and other bar items. While the others opted for alcoholic beverages (pic omitted but they got beer and cocktails); I decided to just get the strawberry milkshake ($4.99). The frothy milkshake was made perfectly, and you can really taste the strawberry flavor of the ice-cream used. For those who love alcohol with their milkshakes, you can get the alternative version which is their spiked milkshakes with 2 ounces of alcohol. They offer a selection of 10 different burgers priced between $6.99 to $18.99. Every burger is served on a freshly baked homemade regular or whole wheat bun. They also have a variety of complimentary sauces and toppings. However, cheese is extra for $1.50 per slice. My friend ordered the bison burger (farm-raised bison seared on our flat top to seal in flavor and tenderness) ($10.99), and liked it. According to him, the burger meat was solid, and the onions caramelized into the meat making it a tasty burger. One of my friends and I decided to share the WBB signature sauce chicken wings (double dusted and fried to perfection) ($10.99/lb). I love the wings, and unfortunately these wings are one of the worst wings that I have ever tasted. The wings were of a good size, but the sauce made them so overly bitter and salty at the same time. I really had a hard time eating them, and downing them down with milkshake didn't help with the bitter aftertaste.

Yelp
Hostess: Good evening. Me: Good evening. Hostess: Do you have a reservation? Me: A reservation? Hostess: Yes, a reservation. Me: You serve burgers here. I need a reservation to get a burger? WTF? This ain't the Rosewater Supper Club. This is the first time I've ever been asked if I had a reservation for a burger. Damn, this place better have some great meat for this much attitude. Ok, let's get this out in the open right off the bat. The W Burger Bar, all slick and tres mod is really just a jacked up burger version of Hooters a la beef. Now I see why all the previous guy reviewers like the wait staff. This is eye candy central here. It was a busy, noisy Friday night when the girls who love to eat the meat, Shari M. and myself met up with Kat D. to celebrate my Decemburger victory. So I figured since this was all about the burgers then I should be going for the Ferrari of burgers....the big Kahuna....the Kobe Burger. So much expectations on my part. Such a big let down. Our waitress, who appeared to be one Red Bull over the line, could do the speed dial routine on our order but seemed to take for ever to get a drink for anyone from the bar. When I first arrived I ordered the signature cocktail, The W. which is actually really refreshing and not cloying at all. (Vodka, Sloe Gin, Lime and sparkling grapefruit juice) I order....and 15 minutes later the waitress apologizes for not delivering yet because the bartender is totally swamped. The very same thing happens again to Shari...after a long wait for her libation it's the same old song from the waitress. Apologies and tells us the barkeep is super busy. Yet the table behind us sits down and the manager comes running over with a tray of shooters. Hmmmmm. I order the Kobe burger and keep it simple because I want to taste the meat. Caramelized onions, mustard, relish, pickles. I said it before and I'll say it again, don't eff up Momma's burger. They completely missed the onions. While taking our order I suggest to Shari that we share some fries and Shari suggests we share Poutine instead. I say ok, I'll go for that. The waitress, on auto pilot and speed dial, for whatever reason brings us both poutine and the fries. Huh? As for my Kobe burger it was bland. Kobe meat doesn't need much to give it flavour. Initially on the first bite it was tasty but that waned quickly. This was definitely a knock off Kobe burger and for this they charge $18.95. Steep price for sub standard meat. I've had Kobe before and it has a very distinct flavour but this burger was null and void of any flavour. Meanwhile the table behind us gets their pitchers of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer minutes after ordering and Shari still waits upon her cocktail. Service is whacked. Totally inconsistent. It even took Kat practically waving her credit card to get the bill. Sure makes me glad that I didn't make a reservation at this place. We even had to ask for cutlery after she brought the food. Whatever. The evening was saved by the great company and a nightcap of coffee and pie at our favorite Pie shrine out in the Beaches. Thanks Tim for saving the night for us. We got more attention from Campbell the dog then we did from our waitress at W Burger Bar and we didn't even have a reservation at the Pie Shack. W Burger Bar - Two and a half stars and that was for the cocktail.
