W Costa Rica - Reserva Conchal

Stayed 4 nights at this resort in November 2025 to celebrate my birthday. The stay was incredible. From the moment we arrived at the resort, all the staff was super friendly and welcoming. They really made me feel like a local resident with their warm and friendly attitude. The breakfast staff was the best, very accommodating and even greeted us by name when they would see us. Little touches like that at a world class resort meant a lot. Food was on the pricey side but expected at an all-inclusive resort. I’ve been to Costa Rica a few times but I know feel spoiled. I’ll absolutely be returning to this resort. The golf course was my main attraction and it did not disappoint. Challenging course with a lot of elevation changes and deep rough. I played 4 rounds of golf over three days, enjoyed every single round.

Our romantic stay at W Costa Rica – Reserva Conchal was absolutely unforgettable and exceeded every expectation.||From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed — warm, attentive, and consistently going above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect. Their friendliness and professionalism truly set this resort apart.||We stayed in an Ocean View Suite with a private pool, and it was breathtaking. Waking up to panoramic ocean views and having our own pool to relax in felt incredibly luxurious and intimate — the perfect setting for a romantic getaway.||The food was outstanding at all three restaurants, with each offering a unique experience and consistently delicious, beautifully presented dishes. The drink options were excellent, from creative cocktails to top-tier classics, all expertly crafted.||The beach was pristine, well-maintained, and incredibly relaxing, with a friendly and attentive staff always nearby. And the Wet® Deck pool was nothing short of spectacular — vibrant, stunning, and the heart of the resort’s energy.||W Costa Rica perfectly balances luxury, relaxation, and fun, all while embracing the natural beauty of Costa Rica. This was a truly special experience, and we are already dreaming about our return. Highly recommended for couples seeking an unforgettable escape.

Stayed here in the middle of December and had a wonderful time. The hotel is in a beautiful location in the jungle overlooking the beach. The room was very nice and the housekeeping came multiple times per day which was a plus. Also, all the staff were extremely nice and friendly and truly made this stay enjoyable. Also shoutout to Erick G from Playa Conchal who arraigned our airport transportation, highly recommended. Overall, a great stay in Costa Rica!!

Beautiful property with ocean views and access to the beach. Feels very quiet and private. Food feels overpriced imo but you're paying for the view / environment so still worth it. We had a rental car and left the property for maybe half our meals. Rooms are updated and spacious. I recommend paying a little extra for an ocean view / balcony. And I can't say enough good things about the staff. They are welcoming, professional, and will go out of their way to help with any request. We will definitely go back next time we're in Costa Rica.

Great resort. Room was very comfortable with an amazing two person shower that opened right up to the balcony, which was also accessible from the main room. Both pools were very nice. The programming at the hotel was a lot of fun. We did a bike tour of the W and the Westin, we did a ceviche making class, and a guaro class, all for free. The gym on site is decent, not great for strength training but enough to get the job done. Food was mostly good. Lower pool area had the best food, great burger and ceviche. The cuisine-specific menus were very good, especially the taste of Guanacaste. You can walk to the Westin easily and there we saw howler monkeys, Coati (like a raccoon), white tail deer, lizards, etc. Really no complaints. If your goal is to be close to a “town” this wouldn’t be ideal, but we didn’t care about that.

We were repeat guests, visiting during one of the busiest holiday weeks, and this stay stood out because of an outstanding team.||Stephany, the Front Desk Manager, somehow secured upgrades for both of our rooms during peak holiday travel—no small feat. As a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite, I know how rare that is, and it set the tone immediately.||Isaac, the concierge, went out of his way to find us at the pool to personally invite us to a Bonvoy appreciation event we would have otherwise missed—and truly enjoyed. His English is excellent, and together with Sandy, he handled all our dining needs seamlessly.||Minor, the activities director, brought nonstop energy and personality—from clearing the beach before yoga to making song trivia by the pool fun with humor and dancing. We recommend the complimentary morning hike with him. It was nicely challenging and scenic. ||Additional thanks to JJ for spotting the sunset and offering to take our photo, and Catherine and Ali for creating custom yogurt parfaits when buffet options didn’t suit us.||Suggestions: (1) make the names and descriptions of the resort activities clearer. We also weren’t sure which ones need RSVP and which ones tend to fill up quickly. (2) We would love poolside sunblock, because we can never bring enough (3) We would love a snack kiosk at the resort (selling iced coffee drinks , fruit salad, yogurt parfaits, etc ) for between meals.||This team excels at making a large resort feel personal. We’ll be back.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and we're very glad that we did. It's definitely a 5-star hotel. The staff are very friendly and attend to every need. Only issue is that the hotel is isolated and prices for food and drinks are very expensive. Food is incredible but we're pretty sure the specialty drinks are watered down. I'd recommend ordering familiar cocktails and avoiding the fancy ones. Either way, be prepared for a large bill at checkout. Book through Costco for a free breakfast buffet (which is actually really good with new options daily) and a $100 hotel credit. You can eat a large, delicious breakfast and take extras to your room to save some money on lunch. We also booked a car and drove to restaurants for dinner. There are great restaurants to check out if you're willing to drive 30 minutes.

I can’t say enough good things about our stay with The W - Costa Rica! From the moment we arrived, the staff members were incredible - very welcoming and consistently provided excellent service. Each employee, from the concierge, the restaurant staff, room service attendants and everyone in between made us feel welcome and graciously accommodated any/all requests! They also were very kind to help us while we practiced Spanish and learned more about Costa Rican culture. The room was beautiful, comfortable and clean and remained well stocked with all the necessities throughout our stay. The food was spectacular, and the bartenders made some of the best cocktails we have ever had. The resort itself is gorgeous and is perfectly positioned next to a quiet beach and surrounded by beautiful landscape with lots of cool wildlife. We enjoyed watching howler monkeys swing from the trees, deer grazing throughout the grounds and large iguanas scurrying around the beach or hanging out in the canopy. If you want to get out of the resort and explore the local culture or wilderness, they have several options for guided tours available that were well planned and very enjoyable. Highly recommend!
