Dubai Has Strict Rules Against Drinking Alcohol, but an Amazing Cocktail Scene

"Later that week, I’m sitting in Ginger Moon, the boho-inspired, poolside bar and kitchen at the W Hotel Mina Seyahi, an adults-only hotel that opened just over a year ago. I am overlooking the giant yachts resting in the handsome human-made harbor while the breeze floats by as though it, too, were manufactured. Ginger Moon understands the importance of providing guests with a superior cocktail experience and approaches mixing drinks like an art. The cocktail menu is written like a poem, lyrical and flowery with descriptions that start with “fly on the wild side,” and “get lost in the jungle.” I am sampling their ‘no waste’ dinner menu, part of Dubai Food Week that highlights this year’s theme: sustainability. The beverage manager, Emanuel Ferraz, has designed a cocktail for each course, crafted from kitchen leftovers. With the kitchen leading the way, this project has allowed Ginger Moon’s mixologists to get creative, combining new flavors, playing with the sweet and the savory. “There is a big connection between the W brand and cocktail culture, it's in our DNA,” says Ferraz as I sample his gin, tomato, and basil concoction. “When [guests] arrive in the hotel they already expect to find something unique. [They want] something different than the classic, something quite extravagant and [for us] we can say that cocktails are a big part [of that].”" - Travel + Leisure Editors

This was our second stay at the W . We just had to come back after staying last year for our 25th wedding anniversary. |This was our 26th & once again it did not disappoint! |The Service at this hotel is unreal!! The staff are just fantastic so friendly attentive & polite. We cannot recommend enough for people to stay here & have a lovely time. |We did all inclusive so had use of two other hotels which all had lovely restaurants and pool areas .|We always love to have our breakfast in The Ginger Moon where of course we see the fabulous Raj & his amazing staff who looked after us a lot last year too 🥰|Trisha once again from guest experience really looked after us she is an amazing lady. We arrived to some lovely balloons in our room that we didn’t even ask for & a signed picture from all the staff which I will always cherish. |And not to forget the amazing staff that kept our suite looking beautiful every day . Ali did a great job with a lot of attention to detail you couldn’t fail to notice . We would just like to thank everybody at the W we can’t remember everybody’s name but everybody was amazing.

A late review as we were here in May. The service from minute one was fantastic. We were really looked after the whole time and the place is great. The food and service in particular at Ginger Moon was incredible. Breakfasts were amazing. But the happy hour drinks and snacks round the pool were surprisingly good. Then the dinner, which you could see being freshly prepared throughout the day, was superb. Raj truly looked after me and my wife Bianca and treated us like we were special.

I really enjoy the cute, stylish and personalized room service. Breakfast is delicious with a rich variety. The bathroom amenities are excellent. The view from the top floor is truly massive. The hotel’s atmosphere and scent are very pleasant, and overall the design feels striking.

I had an amazing experience at W Dubai – Mina Seyahi, and I highly recommend it—especially for families. One of the great perks is the access to the neighboring hotels, Le Meridien and The Westin, which really enhances the overall experience with even more facilities and dining options. A big thank you to the hotel management team for running such a well-operated and guest-focused property. They consistently go above and beyond expectations in every detail, and it truly shows. The design of the hotel is fabulous, modern, and vibrant. The front desk staff are professional, understanding, and efficient. The gatekeepers and valet team are incredibly friendly and courteous, always greeting you with a smile and a helping hand. Everyone on the team seems genuinely committed to making your stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast was another highlight—delicious food, beautifully presented, and served by a kind, helpful, and attentive staff. This hotel truly sets a high standard for hospitality. I’ll definitely return, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Dubai.

The room itself is amazing, details are incredible and the design itself is so much fun! The service in the hotel is horrible- unfortunately it’s too slow- not enough staff to accommodate guests! Check in took us 45 minutes waiting in line, luggage needed an hour to get delivered to our room. The breakfast area is so small compared to the number of hotel guests- there is a 30 minute waiting line to get into breakfast, very crowded, noisy, too much kids, not enough time to clean the buffet; so it’s messy. There is construction sights all around the hotel- so you hear drilling and loud noises at night.

One of the best hotels in terms of price and quality. Modern rooms and good breakfast. During the season, you may have to wait for coffee and order. The pool has comfortable sun loungers, but a few times there were a couple of holes in the towels. Also there used to be a swimming mattress and last time we stayed they were missing. The bar serves delicious cocktails, but the shops are far away.

Absolutely fantastic hotel. All the staff where amazing and couldn’t do enough for us - everyone from the reception staff, bar staff, Ginger Moon staff, the cleaners, the guys at the beach that laid out our towels on the sun beds everyday and all the staff at the two other hotels we had access to. Just an amazing holiday x

A wonderful hotel with impressive facilities. My two children stayed in the pool from dawn til dusk! The waterpark is an added bonus at this resort - perfect for children. Special mention to the wonderful man from the pool bar who delivers food and water - so attentive and friendly.
