W Melbourne

Service was good. The team acknowledged our wedding anniversary on our second day (with an unexpected surprise), which was just as well, as the woman at the check-in counter was not particularly warm or welcoming when we arrived. The Whatever/Whenever service was excellent (although a little slow), but friendly and accommodating. Love the interior design - moody and sophisticated, and we loved the 24 hour indoor pool area. But something is missing - it doesn't quite feel like a 5-star experience. Maintenance and cleanliness were a bit slap-dash - the smart toilet in our room did not work. There were scuffs and little pockets of dust in the corners. The bins weren't lined and the bottoms were a bit dirty. The bathroom was extremely dark (no good for doing makeup!) and one the towels were worn - one even had holes in it (literally worn out). We also noticed mould around the pool! Ick. We had a good time, but probably wouldn't rush back.

Stayed at W Melbourne over Christmas with my puppy and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is luxurious and beautifully designed, with moody lighting and excellent blackout curtains that let us sleep in and enjoy breakfast at 1pm. The rooms are spacious, elegant, and spotless, and I never once had to worry about my young dog getting into anything he shouldn’t — which made the stay feel relaxed and effortless. The staff were outstanding — accommodating, thoughtful, and genuinely kind, especially during the busy Christmas period. In-room dining was a highlight, with breakfast available beyond standard hours and flexibility like combining platters without hesitation. The dog welcome package was such a lovely touch — a curated box of gifts, new toys, and a perfectly sized bed he adored. Being able to explore the gardens and city together added to the experience. One small note for future stays: housekeeping briefly entered without announcing on a second visit, which startled my pup and the staff member. This was handled calmly and resolved straight away. As a suggestion, it may help if staff who are uncomfortable around dogs avoid servicing the PAWs (Pets All Welcome) level, or ensure pets are secured before entry — something I would have happily done had I known. Excellent mini bar, and the Whatever / Whenever service truly lives up to its name. Would happily return — puppy included.

We had an amazing staycation at W! we were assisted by Zach during the check in, it was very smooth and quick :) he also helped explain every amenities in the hotel greatly as it is our first time staying with W Melbourne. Selena and Napolea helped us during breakfast and gave us a great seat and provide clear recommendations of the service. Everyone was really friendly and helpful! The hotel itself is very unique and beautiful! Great rooms and amenities, food and coffee was amazing!

I had an incredible stay at the W Melbourne! From the moment I arrived, the service was amazing the staff were so attentive, welcoming, and made everything feel effortless. The room was beautiful and comfortable, and every detail felt luxurious. The breakfast buffet was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had so fresh, delicious, and such a great variety. Overall, an amazing experience from start to finish. I would definitely stay again!

We wanted a short getaway but didn’t feel up to traveling far, so we chose to stay one night at the hotel instead. We were very grateful to receive a complimentary room upgrade, which made our stay even more comfortable. The room interior was stylish and modern, and it somehow made us feel like we were in our twenties again. One of the most impressive touches in the room was the memory foam pillows. Our family finds soft pillows extremely uncomfortable, so having this option available truly made us happy. We also had a great time at the pool, and dinner at the hotel restaurant was very satisfying.

The room was spotlessly clean — every corner was immaculate, the linens crisp and fresh, and the bathroom gleamed. It felt like stepping into a brand-new space. Housekeeping maintained high standards throughout my stay, and I always returned to a pristine room. The location is exceptional — right in the heart of everything. Walking distance to major attractions, restaurants, and public transport. Yet the hotel is tucked away just enough to give you peace and quiet when you want it. All in all, a perfect blend of stellar service, flawless cleanliness, and unbeatable location. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a premium stay.

We had a wonderful staycation at The W in October with our two kids. Krister Svensson and his team were exceptional — their customer service and attention to detail were evident throughout the entire hotel. The indoor pool was fantastic and never crowded, which made it perfect for families. The kids were treated to free slushies and fries, which was such a thoughtful touch! Our room was spacious and very comfortable, and the hotel’s central location made it easy to explore the city. The standout for us was the breakfast buffet — everything was incredibly fresh and the selection was one of the best we’ve seen in Australia for a long time. Thank you, W, for a truly terrific stay — we’ll definitely be back!

My stay at W Hotel was extremely disappointing and far below the standard expected from this brand. Housekeeping was poor — used instant noodle cups and rubbish were left in the room, which was unacceptable. One of the bathrobes mysteriously disappeared, leaving only one in the room, and after we used the bath salts, they were never replenished. What was most concerning was the air-conditioning. We had set the room to heating at 25°C, yet it was changed without our consent to cooling mode at the lowest setting of 19°C, seriously affecting our comfort. Overall, this was a very unpleasant stay and did not reflect the quality, attention to detail, or service W Hotel claims to provide. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience. Update: We only just noticed after pulling back the sheets that there was a visible stain on the bed linen. This was really the last straw. This was supposed to be a New Year trip for my friend and me, but the accommodation completely ruined the experience. Honestly, the stay was awful from start to finish.

In the heart of Melbourne this hotel is a must stay. It's beautifully done from employees to rooms. There is a breakfast buffet (not included in price), restaurant and bar all on the first floor with delicious food. The rooms are very cozy, plenty of tech and have plenty of amenities to make your stay comfortable.
