W15 Hanthana Estate

I loved every minute of staying at W15 Hanthana, it was a delight from start to finish, even the rain couldn't dampen our stay. A highlight was the brilliant team led by Sieath, everyone was so helpful and lovely. The food, in particular the prawns, were amazing, and the homemade scones were some of the best I've ever eaten. I also loved the old school land rover, the hidden sauna and the beautiful swimming pool! Definitely worth a visit and super close to the Pekoe Trail stage one! Would recommend!

We spent two nights at W15 Hanthana master suite with our two young kids (6 and 8 years). The bungalow is 130 years old but it is elegantly renovated with modern amenities while keeping its colonial look and feel. The food was simply AMAZING! We had breakfast and dinner at the Bungalow on both days and the quality and variety was impeccable. ||We opted for the jeep ride up to the Hanthana mountain range with a Naturalist and a Jeep driver, they both did a great job of explaining interesting facts through our journey. The terrain was rough but the jeep driver was driving with utmost care. We had an amazing butler "Keerthi" who attended to all our needs and wants. All the staff, housekeeping, restaurant staff and gardeners were all very courteous and ready to help anytime. ||The overall ambience is quiet and serene with stunning landscapes, each guest respects others privacy and experience (this is not a place for guests to get drunk and have a raucous party). Although the price point of this bungalow is on the high end, it helps attract guests who understands and values the kind of experience it has to offer. ||We are hoping to come back with our extended family some day.

W15 Hanthana Estate is clearly a very exclusive hotel. The location and building are outstandingly beautiful and the staff were universally warm and welcoming. Of particular note were the food which was excellent and individual members of staff were attentive and helpful. ||Sods Law dictates that something will go wrong - and it did. Firstly the volume on our TV was inadequate and needed attention. This was done, and quickly. Not a big issue. Much more serious was that because the hot water system in our shower was faulty we ended up not being able to have a single hot shower during our entire stay. That is why I cannot give the hotel a full five star review. It must be said however that, although I certainly would have expected the hotel management to have thoroughly checked that everything was fully working prior to our arrival, we nevertheless had a very pleasant stay and we compliment all of the staff for their generally very high level of service. ||Overall this is a very special hotel to stay at and we would recommend it to all. We just ended up having a bit of bad luck, that’s all.

WOW what a stunning property! |We had the most amazing stay. All the staff provided exceptional service, whilst allowing us to enjoy privacy at the same time - the perfect balance.The naturalist guides were fantastic on our hike and jeep tour around the adjacent mountains & tea plantation. Our stay was a highlight of our trip and we didn't want to leave. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY.

Stunning location, amazing views and staff to match ........ a magnificent experience from start to finish of our 3 nights stay at W15.|We have experienced what we consider to be our best ever stay at a boutique hotel. The decision in choosing W15 was based on our research for Sri Lanka and without doubt our stay did not disappoint.|We were provided with an exceptional level of accommodation and service that will stay with us for a long (long) time.|Food is of high quality and presentation to match.|This hotel is held in high regard locally and beyond and has topped the awards for facilities and service ........ it is worthy of its high regard.|We must mention the service of Keerthi and Sheriff ........ both these delightful members of the W15 team are to be praised for their attention to detail to provide an exceptional level of service ..... thank you both.|We spent our stay celebrating a Special Occasion and W15 made the occasion very special ..... thank you all.

Incredible property that has been beautifully restored. The surroundings are gorgeous - beautiful old trees, tea plantations and a rolling mountain range. The staff are incredible with every need attended and small touches like hot water bottles at night to keep you warm. We loved walking the trails with the naturalists and a great place to to rejuvenate and connect with family. Highly recommend and we will be back!

This boutique hotel was our favourite place on our first holiday in Sri Lanka. We stayed at 7 luxury hotels but this stood out.|The friendliness of the staff was amazing. They couldn’t do enough for us. The rooms and views were stunning.

What a view. We only stayed here for one night, which was a mistake as it is such a beautiful location, with first class services and amazing food. Lots to do in the area and this is a real WOW hotel. Cannot highly recommend enough. We loved it here and if we are ever back in Sri Lanka we will stay here again.
