I was here for a post thesis dinner with my classmates, supervisors, and alumni. We had a 5 course walking dinner where we stand/sit and mingle while the waitresses bring the food to us or put them in the table so we can just grab and talk. It was a brilliant concept. The interior of the restaurant was interesting, the staff were friendly and helpful. They warned me about the gelatine in the dessert so I don’t eat it (I can’t eat pork). For change I asked them for other dishes and they offered me an ice cream

Lovely restaurant with nice ambiance. Food was good but too much wait time for food service. Staff were busy and less attentive.

The food was delicious and flavorful, with generous portions. The salad and steak tartare were especially outstanding. The only downside was the service, which could definitely be improved.

We tried waag lemonade I really enjoyed it(a bit sweet) We also had the nachos, which were tasty too. We sat outside by the canal, and the atmosphere was lovely. Then we went inside and I was honestly amazed — the place is so big, I almost got lost! I’m definitely coming back here for dinner sometime, I’m really curious to see what it’s like in the evening.

The Waag building (weighing house) is really beautiful and the atmosphere vibrant. Entered the place with a small group of five, without a reservation and it was fully booked, but one of the girls really did her best to look for a possible table for 1.5 h max, and succeeded. So service was quick and friendly, even managed to get a second round of drinks! Snacks were fairly good, sticky chicken and fries with truffle mayonnaise, but the duck and pancakes was not even close how it should taste, and where was the crispy skin?! But the duck aside, we all enjoyed being there and were thankful for the hospitality.

My daughter chose this restaurant to celebrate her birthday.. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the wait staff were very nice. We did have to wait for 20 minutes for a table but we were accommodated at a bar while we waited.. All in all👍👍👍

Service was really bad! The waiting time for ordering a drink is very long, both outside at terrace and inside during our dinner. The stuffs hadn’t come to ask us whether we need more drinks on their initiative . I’m lactose intolerant., but the stuff told me that this restaurant cannot provide anything else for me. The only thing she can do for me is put the sauce with dairy in a separate small plate. It’s totally unexpected! I heard from my friend who order the same food as me that the taste was fine, while I only taste the fish with peper/ salt. The atmosphere and location of the restaurant are good, I really love to eating in historic buildings. These were the only positive things during our dinner experience.

The food here is delicious! The purple cabbage is particularly tasty – it has a wonderful sweet and sour flavor that complements the meat dish perfectly.

Came here for lunch while visiting the city. Beautiful old building converted into a restaurant in 2015. Service was fast and friendly. Menu consists of different sandwiches, salads, burgers, wraps, etc. Tried their chicken club sandwich and it was delicious! Side note - comes with the skinniest shoe string fries, not your typical dutch fries so you need to ask for that separately. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. Would definitely come back here if in the area again. Lekker!

Came here for lunch with family and the service was good. Great location in the center of the city so easy accessible to most places . Good options for the menu , just wished they had menus in English since it would made it a bit easier instead of asking many questions. The chai tea was definitely a must because if the weather and the food was fresh . Definitely great for lunch !

Enjoyed our meal sitting outside for lunch. Must check out the inside very cool. Good selection of food

Nachos was delicious and have generous portion of avocado! Cocktails and drinks were good too.

In the heart of the old city, and in a beautiful building, this is a place you should not miss. Make sure to see the wall with hundreds a scales. Food and service were very good. They had a nice wine selection that we explored. I recommend the pork tenderloin!

Beautiful space, but chaotic service, average beer, and sub par food - very expensive and tasteless burger, the kind of place that adds pork belly to things without adding taste or value o_O The outdoor terrace is great for a sunny day, but for a proper meal, I would go elsewhere.

The atmosphere is 5/5 Drinks on menu are lacking despite a well stocked bar 2/5 I had the "waag burger" it had a dry bun and was quite tasteless. The chicken was quite nice with plenty of spices, but a little dry. Burger 1/5. Chicken 4/5.

After walking by Waag even before it opened, we knew it was vibrantly decorated. Much like a chalet, the interior affords different perspectives and varied seating arrangements, which can match your party and mood; chair? stool? bar? you have it here! And, unlike most restaurants and bars, their coffee is pretty exciting (having all versions of normal and alcoholic takes on your morning go-to). They have a fun (pricey), but not hard to find beer selection, tasteful wines, and desserts that definitely treat your sweet tooth. Not terribly vegetarian friendly, but you'll find something enjoyable nonetheless. We had their take on nachos, very yummy (not truly Mexican)! Stop in to impress your guest with the lights and interior vines of Waag or go with your close friends for a memorable night.

The people who being you your drinks seem to have better customer service than the waitstaff. They won't come to you and ask if you need anything, or check up on you, or indicate the slightest interest in you. The food is subpar to be nice.

You are there to sit by the water. The waiters use cell phones and it is really annoying. We had bitterballen which were fine and fried cheese which was good but once frozen and terrible sauce. Not stoked, but nice location.

Food was great and lots of 'no bread' options. I rated 1 star because we ordered a hot water refill for our ginger teas and we were charged 2.50 euros each for that. So 5 euros for 2 cups of hot water. I feel ripped off. I am not going back. It's a shame, it's a nice place.

Incredibly stunning place. An architectural masterpiece of design. Only had drinks and nibbles but food looked fabulous too.

Gorgeous space, great food, nice staff. The outdoor seating is perfect in nice weather. One of our favorites!

We had very delicious dinner. We enjoyed Dutch food it was very tasty. Atmosphere was very nice. The most precious part was the building like castle. We felt like we are in 17th century period time.

I had the Waag burger and it was very good. I was a little concerned when I wasn't asked how I would like the burger prepared but it came out a perfect medium. Would order it again.

Great place in centre of Leiden. Cool seating inside and out. Tasty food. Huge selection of beer. Beautiful 18th century building
