This is a fantastic campground. We loved the privacy of our site. We stayed here for six days and saw lots of different people come and go and they all seemed friendly. The place clears out during the day as people are visiting sure in the park. There was a lot of wildlife around the campground but nothing problematic while we were in it. Our site could hear rushing water from the river and was a short walk from and incredible view. Also there were ranger programs four of the nights and they were fantastic. Why four stars? There is only electricity on one loop (we knew this, but it still was annoying) it was not super pretty in the campground, even though the hiking trail around it was incredible. Finally, it is about a 25 minute drive away from the main highway. The two other campgrounds are right on it. This added a ton of hours in the car to our trip, but it was very quiet.

The sites are very big here but there is very little in shade as most trees have been removed. We fit our van, 10 man tent, 12x12 shade tent, 11 people around the fire and still had lots of room. Lots of wood was provided and some bathrooms have dish washing stations outside. Definitely a great place to camp.

The privacy is not bad, the sites are clean and well organized , bathrooms are modern, clean and in good repair. Unlimited firewood per night for $8. The Athabaskan river sounds loud at night when the world is silent. Can hear the trucks on the highway in morning and evening. There are no showers at this campground. I rate this as 3.5 out of 5. Not bad, not perfect. Get a shower and it’s a 4 , make it more private and it’s close to 5 . Has a playground for kids too! Forgot to mention that.

Wabasso requires good parking skills due to the fact that some spots are really hard to put a trailer on it. There was a small space to park between the trees. Leveling it was also hard. Staff was friendly. You can easily hear the Athabasca river from the campsite. Around 9 AM there were caribou close to the campground road.

Beautiful Campsite C34. Backs up to river and neighbor sites further away. Only wish is that there were services for RV and Trailers in the campsites. Fantastic campsite and campground. Very quiet at night and in the morning. At night you can hear the river rushing! Public restrooms are great too. No pit toilets and there are sinks to wash your hands. We would choose to camp here again.

We had great time at the campground on the account that you don't stay at the campground all day. Alot of sites offer little to no privacy so pick wisely. We stayed in loop A and low digits get you less privacy. Higher digits had some really nice spots along the river. Part of it are the pine trees affected by pine beetle and probably had to come out. Bathrooms were immaculate, kudos to park's people - they work tirelessly. We had a plan for outdoors every day of our 5 day stay ( long, I know). Canoed Maligne Lake and horseshoe lake. Hikes Maligne Canyon and fished. SkyTrain was a treat...not something we usually do, trying to avoid touristy spots, but it was highly enjoyable once we got up and did the hike. Overall, doesn't matter what campground you stay at as Jasper is about getting out and making a different adventure every day, not sitting around the campsite all day.

The firewood is not free as so many have posted. You are forced to pay $8.50 a day for a fire permit which i cant use due to severe asthma. Lake Louise allows you to opt out of paying a fire permit. AND for a parks Canada camp site not to have showers is extremely disappointing. My family of 4 had to sneak a shower at Whistlers campground (which has brand new spectacular facilities) cause we were all smelling gamey trapped in a small trailer. If it had showers and the optional burn permit then 5 stars. Great campground otherwise.

Google
Excellent site for camping. Fire pit, woods, bench for sitting, drinking water facility, food storage area, clean washrooms and quite atmosphere. Strongly recommended for family trip. I will suggest come for minimum two days because once you setup the camp, it’s worthy to stay couple of days instead spent one night.

Yelp
One of the quietest and most secluded campgrounds in Jasper National Park. The campsites are very distant from each other and there's lots of privacy. It's very flat, but a few sites have a tiny slope. There are enough trees but not as much tree-canopy shade as the other campgrounds, but more bushes and plants. The distance to Jasper town is not too far, maybe 20 minutes, but the distance to sightseeing/hiking sites around Jasper make this campground pretty centrally located. One of the biggest tips is to find this campground on the 93A, not on the 93. We got lost due to lack of signage and directions. It looks like the campground is between the 93 and 93A, but access to the campsites is only on the 93A. We stayed in the D loop. We could hear the faint sounds of the river, and a little bit of road noise from the 93. The D loop is the most private, nice, and quiet loop. The B and C loop are very open with little/no foliage (and mostly lodgepole pine trees) The bathrooms are inside trailers and are very clean, and there are no showers. There is an RV dump site. Out of all of the campgrounds I visited in Banff and Jasper, this place has the most warnings for bears. I haven't seen a bear, but the park ranger said they are friendly. Also, the soft tent area is currently closed, and I've only seen trailers and motorhomes at this campground.

Yelp
Beautiful and large campground outside of the hustle and bustle of Jasper. The facilities here are top notch with running warm and cold water, a clean bathroom and plenty of firewood if there is no burn ban. The views of the river are amazing if you can grab a spot on the outer circle. I'd recommend the A-loop because that's where is stayed and it was wonder. The only minus is the campsites are packed in tight so things could get loud in the busy season. The next day we were very close to athabasca falls and enjoyed driving the less busy 97A road their. Hope you enjoy this splendid campground!
