My family and I ordered take out. This is my first time trying out this place. The food is delicious. We received ample portions. I loved the general tso chicken ,and my family really enjoyed their seafood. Definitely recommend this place. We'll be back . Also the young lady who worked there was extremely nice. Thank you

We ordered a late lunch. It was very cold inside. I thought we would get Tea or noodles and duck sauce like traditional Chinese rest. do, but they didn't. Big portions. We ate little because We had a long drive home.

I've eaten here before and the food was excellent! I ordered today and was very disappointed 😞. They barely gave me any sweet and sour sauce with my chicken and it was watery. The sesame chicken had little sauce on it also. I couldn't pour any on my fried rice, which was very dry. I am so disappointed especially since I've had their food before. The only thing that was good was the spring rolls and chicken rolls. They were hot and fresh.

This was My Family and My first time trying this restaurant out. We were pleasantly surprised. The General Tso's, Honey Chicken and Crab Rangoon was very good! The only issue we had is the Honey&General Tso's chicken looked a like but the taste more than out weighed that problem! We also ordered doordash and asked for no onions in the fried rice and they LISTENED! Thank you! We will be back!!

First time ordering delivery, arrived still steaming hot. I got the lunch boxes to try a variety of items. I do highly recommend paying the additional dollar for white meat. I did for general tso and you can see the difference between that and the sesame chicken that I didn't. Crab Rangoon's are too sweet for my liking but if you prefer that then you'd enjoy them. Very generous portions and the flavors were your standard American Chinese takeout.

Consistently great food. Service is very good. When we went, middle of the week, middle of the day, nice and quiet.

To give put this review in context, it is based on a take-out order. The food ordered was 5star cheap, so would definitely go again. The main issue we found with the food was that it was a bit bland. This was solved with just a quick stirfry in the pan with some soy sauce (the veggies, lo mein and dumplings), which helped immensely and actually tasted really good for such a low effort. We found the soups were pretty good, but the spring rolls and dumplings needed a lil love. The lo mein had VERY little tofu in it. Moving away and gonna miss this place. If you’re reading this, get the lunch/dinner boxes. I order from the apps and it’s one of the cheapest meals you can get, yet the portions are INSANE for the price and it’s delicious every time with a variety of different dishes in one. Literally impossible to beat for anyone budget conscious.

The ambience was nice, the server was friendly, and the rest of the food was okay, but the number one reason we would come back here is for the best wonton soup either of us has ever eaten.

5/31/25 Ate List: General Tsos - 5.5 Pork Dumplings - 6.3 If you've come across China Bistro on one of the food delivery apps - they are actually Wai Wai restaurant in Bloomfield. Confused as to why the alter ego but maybe the reputation isn't "amazing" locally. The Tsos was so-so. Mostly a miss. Far from the best and below average to me. The dumplings were OILY. Good lord. Tasty. Pretty much fell apart after a single bite though. Not an amazing stop - order from China House instead. Two/three blocks over. Seriously.

Great Asian restaurant in Bloomfield. They just opened second location in Greenfield! Their chicken lo mien & general tsos are delicious. Pretty fast service when dining in. Great spot for takeout but they do have dine in as!

I wanted to try Wai Wai as a possible new go-to Chinese spot in my new neighborhood. Unfortunately, the menu is a lot more "Americanized" food options than I was expecting. While that might be great for some, I was hoping for a more varied menu. With that, the food was hit or miss. The wontons in spicy garlic sauce & the Singapore noodles were both quite good (good flavor & spice level & actually filled with a decent amount of meat/veggies). The egg rolls tasted like they were reheated from frozen & were stuffed with purely cabbage - definitely wouldn't order those again. The crispy tofu in honey sauce was ok - the sauce was good, but the tofu was completely lacking tofu consistency & just tasted like a little crisp ball. I liked the broccoli on the dish better (luckily there was a lot of it!). It actually was better reheated the next day as leftovers, because the tofu softened & soaked in the sauce. Food portions are HUGE (for a very low price!), so definitely expect leftovers! The service was fast & friendly (despite just one waiter having to work the whole restaurant), & the ambiance was inviting (colorful walls decorated with lots of plants). One of the best features of the restaurant is that it is BYOB with no corkage fee. Overall, if you're looking for "American" Chinese food, it's not a bad option if you order right (highlighting the Singapore noodles again!), but there are better options in the city for more authentic cuisine (Cheng Du stands out in my mind). I've been coming here since I was young and the place is always good! They have really good prices and a variety of options. We shared crab Rangoon's for $6.95 and four combo meal for $12.95. The server was nice and attentive. The place got remodeled and it's pretty spacious and clean. Would recommend come here again.

Food was a 8/10. We shared an order of crab Rangoons (9/10) and they were good- a little on the cheese side and could use more crab. The chicken fried rice (10/10) had great flavor and a perfect texture. The beef and broccoli (7/10) was good but the beef to vegetable ratio was lacking. In my opinion it was too vegetable heavy. The general tsos (9/10) had a wonderful crisp and sauce ratio. I would eat here and try other items! The only complaint is I got the lunch box and I thought it had said on the menu it would come with an egg roll and the waitress said that only happens at dinner time? It would've been nice to try and egg roll so I think they should make that more clear. Overall, it was good and fresh food.

Wai Wai always hits the spot! The food is always hot and the portions are generous. There's nothing too fancy on the menu, but they have a lot of options to satisfy your cravings. The service is fast and the ambiance is no-frills. I love that I can come in and quickly get some good grub and get on my way in no time. It definitely isn't "traditional" Chinese food, but represents the delicious versions we've come to love. If you want that--go find somewhere else. Otherwise, Wai Wai is a great place to get a lot of satisfying food and a great price. I'll be going back soon!

I really enjoyed my quick meal from Wai Wai. The food is all very reasonably priced and quite tasty. Yes, it's Americanized, but it's still quite good. I ordered the spring rolls and the fried pork dumplings. The pork dumplings were surprisingly good. Not the best ever, but for the price and the location, good. The meat was well cooked. They had the right ratio of meat to dumpling casing. It was very clearly homemade. They were still a little crispy even after delivery. Meaty, satisfying flavor. The sauce the dumplings are served with is truly excellent. Many places offer acidic sauces, but here, it is somewhat on the sweeter side with some savory as well. I thought this worked really well with the dumplings, and they gave enough sauce for the portion. They also included all the standard sauces, like 3 duck sauce packets and a soy sauce packet. The spring rolls were average. Crispy, not too greasy, but not that flavorful either. Stuffed with the standard cabbage and several other vegetables, although in limited quantities. They did include an extra spring roll with my order for free, which is appreciated! Good price. All in all, a solid option for American Chinese food. Not the most authentic probably, but awesome prices and pretty good portion. Flavor wise, it's good too. Especially the dumpling sauce.

This place has pretty decent American Chinese food! We had lunch takeout and the chicken stayed crispy and the sauce wasn't overly sweet. We had the general tsos chicken and the kung pao. I like their lunch specials and portions. It's really good for the price too. I also don't feel gross after eating it. I got some steamed pork dumplings and they were not my favorite since the sauce tastes weird but you can tell they are homemade. I would definitely try more dishes from here. Also I would not recommend ordering through grubhub or another third party app. Just call them to order to avoid extra fees and markups.

Lack of healthier grains like brown rice. Whole grains are quality. Sauce too sweet like typical merica foods. Maybe ask for it on side. Barely spicy. Would appreciate hot sauce. Steamed veggies decent. Not overcooked. Somewhat vegan friendly.

I ordered the dinner box with broccoli beef, general tso's chicken, and fried rice. Everything was flavorful, and there was a lot of food for the price. It included a chicken egg roll that wasn't my favorite, but the taste of everything else definitely made up for that. Would recommend!

Don't let the lack of patrons in the restaurant nor the reviewers who are mad about their takeout sway you. THIS PLACE IS DELICIOUS. I love Chinese food and Wai Wai delivers in every way. The portions are gigantic, the price is low, and neither of those factors affect the quality of the food. The food has flavor, uses the right ingredients, and is cooked to perfection. I absolutely love lo mein, and theirs hit the spot. Plus, now I have leftovers. I can't wait to go back and eat again.

I stopped by Wai Wai on a weekday for lunch. It wasn't too packed but there were a few other dine in customers. I'm still wondering that there were outside pics on the windows and signage inside of some lore authentic looking meals which I didn't see on the menu, but I could be wrong. I ordered a hot and sour soup, egg roll, and garlic shrimp. The hot and sour soup was tasty and had a good color. The egg roll was large and good. I did enjoy the garlic shrimp as well. I probably wouldn't make the 30 min drive to go straight here but if I was in the area I'd dine in again.

I really wanted to like this place but I have tried the place three times before, but it is just sub-par not worth the money

If you're going to buy Wai Wai Groupon, they will add 18% tips on the bill. Be aware! I used to love Wai Wai, but no more. Last time, they messed up the order. This time, they added tip for pick up.

The sweet and sour chicken was delicious! Really fast delivery. I will definitely order from here again.

While we enjoy the food. I requested in my order: No onions across all items. We have onions. No peas in fried rice. We have a boat load of peas and onions. I requested no green peppers in main dish. We have green peppers. I requested packets of hot mustard for my egg roll. No hot mustard. I said we do not need plastic utensils. It's a waste. We received three packs

I'm giving Wai Wai 2 stars because I've had delicious food here in previous visits. However, the most recent time I've stopped in, my food was not good at all. I ordered General Tso's chicken and I was surprised at the lack of quality. The general tso's sauce was not flavorful and very runny. Also, usually General tsos chicken comes with broccoli. This dish came with carrots and peas that definitely came from a freezer bag because the carrots were chopped up into little squares. I hardly ate my dinner and our waiter didnt say anything about it. He asked if i wanted to take it home and I said no, he just took the plate and handed us our check. I may try Wai Wai again because of past visits, but I was just very surprised to see the quality of food deteriorate like it did.

This review is for the person taking orders over the phone. She was extremely rude and was not helpful at all. There was one point where I was going to take my business elsewhere, but I had already asked everyone what they wanted to eat so I had to go forward. I placed a large order for my office lunch and was asking for one vegetarian option for lunch. She initially said she could not sub veggie fried rice for chicken fried rice for lunch. Then after asking for other veggie options for lunch, she said she could do the substitution but will charge $3 for it. How is removing a meat from a lunch item going to cost me more? The food taste overall was not great and very bland. I had to add soy sauce, hot sauce, and hoisin sauce to add some flavor. The first impression people get from your restaurant is the person who answers the phone. Please get someone nicer, especially when large orders are a big part of your business. And please be more accommodating to the everchanging diets (there are a lot more vegan and vegetarian people in the world now).

My coworkers and i had a sudden hankering for Chinese. I'm so glad someone introduced me to Wai Wai! Prices are excellent, especially for combos. There's a nice variety of dishes and plenty of options for sauces, sides, etc. I got the chicken and broccoli with the black bean sauce. So yummy! And so filling! I wish there had been more sauce but otherwise it was cooked to perfection. This is our new go to spot for Chinese delivery.

I've had a few good meals there recently, so was optimistic about the restaurant in general. Today however was disappointing. I ordered a dish with a combination of several proteins and veggies. The flavor of the dish and the veggie assortment was very good as were the shrimp. But the beef was full of gristle, the pork had large blobs of fat and the chicken, while it was white meat, had an unusual texture for breast meat. So, unfortunately, I'm back to my previous evaluation that the food here is inconsistent

Came after a doctors appointment all of my food came out fresh,hot, and fast. I am overly pleased with the crunch of the chicken and the fresh vegetables in the lo mein. Portions are huge !

Good food. Large portions. Great lunch prices. Wai wai is a great option for Chinese food in the Bloomfield area. I usually go the basic route: general tsos chicken, beef and broccoli or tofu and veggies. The lunch portions are quite large and the price is quite a bargain.

I got takeout from Wai Wai this afternoon. I called to place my order and it was ready 15 minutes later. I ordered two dinner boxes which each come with an egg roll, and also got an order of crab rangoon. I paid extra for one of the dinner boxes to have all white meat, but unfortunately the honey chicken was still dark meat. The other dinner box was supposed to come with sweet and sour chicken, chicken or shrimp lo mein, and chicken fried rice. They asked me what kind of lo mein I wanted and I said just plain. I ended up getting sweet and sour chicken, chicken lo mein, and plain lo mein (instead of plain lo mein and chicken fried rice). Unfortunately I didn't realize this until I got home, but luckily my husband let me share his fried rice. Overall the food was delicious and I can't complain about the portion size for the cost. However, I was a little disappointed in the errors in my order, especially when I paid an upcharge.

Loved their Garlic Chicken Lunchbox Special! Friendly staff, very affordable, large portion, and a delicious meal! Will definitely be back when passing through Bloomfield. Very Clean. All Covid procedures are being followed.

One star for the staff and their service. The food is usually a 3.5/4 easy but my first actual dine in experience wise them to lose me as a customer. The rice and veggies were very cold and my meat was hot. As a chef and serious goody that means one thing. ALL OF MY GOOD WAS NOT MAKE FRESH. When i asked to see a manager she treated me as though i didn't something wrong. Would not make me fresh food at all and then still tried to charge me for the order i have. Previous to this experience of only ordered take out and the taste is usually very on point. I had one bite and they basically told me we don't care about losing one customer so i never went back! East at your own risk!

Decent Chinese food. I ordered the chicken with mixed veggies and white rice from their lunch menu. There was a lot of oil in the dish but the flavor was as expected.

The fried dumplings sealed the deal on my entire meal I was just tying new places to eat and ended up falling in love with this place, 10/10 I do recommend

I ordered the lunch special of Sesame Chicken w/white meat and wonton soup. I also placed a separate order of Crab Rangoons. The chicken was just ok, it had obviously been cooked a couple of hours prior and reheated because my order came out in about 4 minutes. The rangoons? Worst I've ever had. Full of grease, and burned... they were obviously left over from the night before and I had to throw them away. The wonton soup? If you own a restaurant, and you aren't making your own wontons...then WHY DO YOU OWN A RESTAURANT? They use factory-purchased wontons and you get 2 with your lunch special with the smallest amount of broth that I've ever seen at a restaurant. I wanted to like this place...sadly it falls short.

May have been the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten! Chicken was a mass of gristle attached to meat so dried out I threw it away. Even the hot & sour soup was full of tough stringy vegetables. (I have eaten hot & sour many times & not encountered anything like this.). Didn't expect gourmet quality food but didn't anticipate any this bad. Stay away.

Food is fantastic, the portion size is amazing they give you a ton of food. Staff is super nice. If your looking for a Chinese restaurant definitely give this a try you will not be disappointed and you'll have plenty of food for a second tasting later!!

This place was great. It's your perfect standard Chinese food restaurant. My hotel restaurant was closed for renovations. They didn't mention that when I made my room reservation. The front desk suggested this place. I'm glad she did. The delivery was pretty fast. Probably about 20 minutes after I placed my order. Everything I ordered was very good from the fried dumplings, to the wonton, to the Kung Pao shrimp. I won't be staying at the hotel again but if I'm ever staying in that part of the city in the future, I would definitely consider ordering from this restaurant again.

Picked this place on a whim because I forgot most Asian food places in Pittsburgh are closed on Mondays. We ordered a dinner box for each person and it was plenty of food and fairly priced. The chicken on a stick was my favorite of the box, followed by the egg roll, general tso's (very mild), and fried rice (a little bland). I ended up waiting a little longer than the projected wait time, but the staff I talked to was very helpful and attentive. In terms of COVID response, they had a sneeze guard over their register and everyone had a mask on. Love to see it! Would visit again.

First thoughts: Stopped in for takeout earlier today. Prices are very reasonable but menu is a bit confusing. For instance, dinner combos feature 3 (!) different proteins over rice. Why? And they don't even go together. Shrimp w/ broccoli, General Tso's and orange chicken over chicken fried rice. Want to 'upgrade' that chicken fried rice to pork fried? That'll be $3 extra. Quality: Rice was horrible and hard. Definitely tasted undercooked. Shrimp was mushy and seemed old. The only redeeming thing was the egg roll which was perfect: crisp, good filling, and not greasy. I wouldn't go back. And you shouldn't give it a try either.

The food is amazing. It's always so clean. Perfect dine in and take out experience. Definitely recommend.

Ok!...In my subsequent trips back, I have found that the food has returned to their more traditional roots. It has always been great food but every now and then there would be a departure from either cuisine or service. The wait-staff has improved, but I have still yet to have the same person twice. I looked at the pictures on the main page and saw that there was a bag of fried noodles next to a bowl of soup. Those never came with my soup!!!! I am just happy that when you find a good restaurant, you sort of get comfortable with the place, its' staff and its' food.

A neighborhood place I've been to many times yet have never reviewed. Jeez. Anyway, it's a fairly priced spot with good lunch specials. Americanized but authentic if that makes sense. Have never had a problem with the food here. Always tastes good and friendly service too.

Also great for Sunday takeout. Have frequented many times and the quality is always consistent. Dinner boxes are a great value fills me up like a truck
