The Best Beaches in the US, According to the 'Readers' Choice Awards' | Condé Nast Traveler

"Few places define the Hawaiian beach vacation like this Honolulu icon, where Diamond Head’s craggy profile anchors the horizon and a seasoned resort scene means you’ll never want for a stay fit for royalty. It’s all drama and ease in one irresistible package—they had us at “aloha.”" - Kat Chen

Nice sand and safe area with the police station attached to the beach. Lots of activities including surf lessons, catamaran tours, and nice hosts will direct you to anything else you need - like glass bottom boats (launch from a different area). Busy, we brought our own tent/beach cover and chairs, but they are available for rental daily. Bring sunscreen, showers available. No parking except unloading.

Google
Certainly, this is a gorgeous beach. Lots of activity. Plenty of things to do including a variety of catamaran rides, surfing, kayaking, etc. Each hotel has their own service providing umbrellas, chairs, excursions and lessons. This is a very busy beach and it gets crowded. But, oh so lovely.

Ali A.

Google
Tourist trap of the highest order! I have never seen crowds like this anywhere and I've traveled all over! Only reason I give it a three is because of Honolulu Cookie Company's chocolate chip macadamia shortbread cookies, the proposal we saw on top of Diamondhead and the beautiful beach being not too crowded early in the morning (it was still crowded compared to normal beach morning standards!). Beautiful place but doubt ill ever return!

Marko S.

Google
Sand nothing special, a lot of tourists around. When waves calmed down in the evening you could see how many rocks there actually are. Had more fun at other beaches

Kevin P.

Google
HOT HOT HOT ! Very touristic but must to see in Honolulu, beautiful beach with lot of things to do from there, go surf, restaurants, shop and everything you want from Hawaii, it’s just a perfect paradise and ITS TRUE ;-)

Whether you’re celebrating a romantic occasion like a honeymoon or anniversary, or just craving an escape to paradise, Waikiki Beach delivers! Those turquoise waters and epic sunsets are pure magic, setting the perfect backdrop for love or relaxation. The vibe is chill with a side of luxury—hotel bars and restaurants keep the good times flowing. Crowds from all over come for the iconic views and sunbathing, and the friendly “hang loose” locals make you feel welcome. Ditch the car, though—walking or ubering soaks up the paradise vibes way better. It’s the ultimate spot to celebrate or unwind!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Perfect family beach day! 🌴🌊 Waikīkī Beach was the highlight of our family trip. The waves were gentle enough for the kids to play safely, and there’s plenty of space to relax and enjoy the views. Easy to walk to nearby shops and snacks, which made it super convenient with little ones. Great spot for families — highly recommend!

Google
Wonderful open beach. Easily accessible to all. Every beach activity possible. Not crowded. Great shops closeby if you require rentals and food. Safe and calm. Lifeguards on duty.

Yelp
This iconic landmark in Waikiki is one of Hawaii's most famous beaches, located on the south shore of Oahu. Waikiki Beach was just absolutely beautiful!! There I saw surfers, swimmers, and sunbathers on the beach all day long. They also have boat tours in Waikiki & there is also plenty of shopping, dining, and entertainment options. I really loved this beach and will make sure to stay here again when I come to the island of Oahu.

Yelp
This beach is absolutely beautiful! I can't wait to go back. Despite the crowds, there's so much to love about it. The blue waters, palm trees, warm weather, and being surrounded by tons of hotels and restaurants. If you go on a Friday night, you can catch the Waikiki Friday Night Fireworks show. It starts at 7:45pm.
google avatar

Yelp
All beaches in Hawaii are for public use. Waikiki is very popular since many hotels line the beach. If you want a little peace and quiet, setup camp near the Waikiki Wall in front of the Marriott. If you want to go where the action is then setup in front of Royal Hawaiian or Moana Surfrider. This is a decent beach. I prefer Kaneohe and North Shore but it's all subjective. Just depends what vibe you're looking for. Best of luck and aloha!

Yelp
Clean and beautiful beach. However, very crowded when we went on a Thursday afternoon. It's close to the city, but maybe too close, if you know that I mean. Recommended if you're already in the area.
google avatar

Connie T.

Yelp
I didn't expect Waikiki Beach to be so beautiful. I'm so glad we spent our last day here relaxing by the ocean. We rented beach chairs and an umbrella--which I highly recommend, since it gets very sunny and hot.
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty view on this beach and a must see for being so famous. It was a very small beach however and does not span that long which was shocking to me when I visited. Sand is not the most fine and not many places to sit.
google avatar

Leanna E.

Yelp
A must visit when vacationing on Oahu island! Beautiful views with lots of beach activities to do! From surfing, to parasailing, to catamarans, to snorkeling, to canoeing, and more! It's a very touristy spot that mostly tourists go to. It's near all the hotels and International Market Place. There is food and drinks for purchase as well. I can swim in this beach all day!

Yelp
Got a lot that can be said about this popular tourist attraction. It for sure is the main place to visit in Hawaii but it's got lots to enjoy besides the beach and partying. Waikiki Beach is a pretty broad thing to make a review for but I'm trying. Of course the location is the best thing about it. There's good weather along with beautiful sites both new and old, along with bars, restaurants, and a crap ton of fun options. Basic stuff to know before going. It's located on the south shore of Honolulu. The beach itself is the main part. A lot of people just like to lay around. The sand is clean and white. Many others are pretty active. The other popular activities include surfing and swimming. A lot of history as far as surfing around here. Duke Kahanamoku was a legend and popularized it. There's a lot of surfer themed bars and restaurants. Many are right next to the ocean. Pretty much ride a wave up to these. A lot of other attractions are close. Diamond Head is located south of the beach and is a good place to get views. As for the north areas, there's plenty to see here. Honolulu's Chinatown has plenty of places to eat and shop. Go farther up north to get to Pearl Harbor. There's also plenty to explore elsewhere on Oahu if you have more time. Helps to know how to get around before going. It's got a bus that goes between here and the airport, as well as other locations around Honolulu so it's better than walking a lot. The winter months are better for surfers because of bigger waves, and it's not quite as warm but there's usually good weather.

Yelp
Loved it. I was born and raised in Hawaii and it has been 25 years since I've been back. I was fortunate and grateful to stay in the Waikīkī area. The rainbows, sunsets, beach, Hawaiian spirit, good food, walkability and the Duke were the highlights of my short stay in Waikīkī. In early to mid May, there were lots of people, but it wasn't overly crowded. I'm definitely looking forward to returning and won't wait another 25 years to do

Wendoline B.

Yelp
We visited the side closer to the Hilton hotel, by the lagoon. The sand in the water is rocky, but it's still a great beach to visit. We also stoped by for the Friday night firework show (starts at 7:45 pm). It gets crowded, so I recommend getting there by 7:30 to get a good seat. It's only about 4 minutes long, but it's something new to do in Waikiki.
google avatar

Yelp
The Waikiki Beach area is fun to just stroll around, lay about, or swim/surf. Filled with palm trees and lots of various activities, there are parks where you can also picnic and lounge. There are also a lot of restaurants and shopping along the walk, which are all easily accessible. Definitely a lot of people frequent here, so you'll see crowds on a daily basis. The views are great, and the breeze from the ocean is nice - try to make it out there during the sunrise/sunset! +lounging and picnic area +watersports galore +lots of beachgoers

Yelp
Every time I walk along the beach in Waikiki, I see something new. Despite being a tourist area, this iconic beach has much to offer. Yesterday, I was walking home and heard music. There was a free hula show by the Kilohana Hula show on the beach on Wednesday morning. The group was fabulous, engaging and lovely. The lead dancer described the meaning of each move and the history of the dances. At one point, she invited everyone to learn a basic hula! I was in and sure enough she had everyone in the audience on their feet, swaying to the sounds of the ukulele in front of turquoise waters. This was just a magical experience. The show is offered Monday - Wednesday at 9:30 am at the Pa Hula in front of the beautiful Banyan Tree. You can't miss it, you'll hear the music. What a beautiful event.

Yelp
Busy yes but no one can't deny the iconic Waikiki Beach. A lot people want to enjoy and have the opportunity to take the views of Diamon Head and what is that you may ask well.Diamond Head is a volcanic tuff cone on the Hawaiian island of Oʻahu. It is known to Hawaiians as Lēʻahi, which is most likely derived from lae plus ʻahi because the shape of the ridgeline resembles the shape of a tuna's dorsal fin. Imagine swimming in the warm waters of Waikiki Beach and yes you have one one side the Waikiki building creating a back drop concrete arsis and in the other side the the ocean and diamond head... sound like a dream right ? well it is. If you are lucky to stay in one of the hotels on the Waikiki Beach consider your self a lucky one because u can walk from your room to grab breakfast then to the beach to reed a book. sip a sweet drink or even tacking a nap. So save some money and even if you don't stay on a beach resort u can find a cool hotel a couple blocks from Waikiki Beach and make a dream come true because u can catch a rainbow or 2 and find a pottle gold

Yelp
Waikiki Beach is located in the one of the busiest areas of Waikiki, and most of the places you stay there will just be some blocks away from accessing the beach, albeit, the beach sides is towards the further side of this metropolitan area, away from all the ports and such, so you will want to stay closer to that side if you want the full access to the beach, and also a fantastic view from just blocks away without needing to be on a highrise. This public beach is split up into 3 sections: shallow end with full barrier, shallow end with partial barrier, and the open deep end where most people will be surfing at and also where the surfing classes along with the deeper dive tours usually go out to is in this area. Since it is a public beach, do note that it gets extremely crowded, and if you want to make sure to get a good spot, you'll need to head out there maybe around 7am~ish to avoid the crowds. Typically will start ramping up quite a bit with people around 9am and beyond. The beach will typically have live performances as well, as there's a live performance area towards the middle of the beach in between the open ended side and the partial barrier area. It just depends on who you are here with that will determine which side you're on. The full barrier side which is the further left facing the ocean will be primarily for families with smaller children, as there is a full barrier wall in the way of any incoming tides or anything else that may be dangerous for younger children playing in the water. It's deep enough for younger kids to be able to practice swimming here, or other things, but for most adults, you can just stand in the water all the way around this area. The partial barrier side has an opening in the middle where if you want to go further out you can, and if you sit in this area, there are tides coming in as well which will add to the fun for older kids, or adults that may want to swim out from the barrier instead of just in the open. It's a good combination of a spot for those who want to relax more (and can see the view better because there isn't a full wall there). The open deep end area is where the primary traffic is going to be, as that's just the open ocean in front, no barrier walls or anything to block it off. There's going to be your surfers on this side, some of the tours that go out a bit for the deep dive snorkeling will be out there as well, and also the para sailing are in that area too primarily. This side will always get the most traffic as you really can't get a better view of the ocean than here. But do keep in mind again, this is going to be the most crowded spot of them all due to all these additional things that can be done. And the one thing that really works for Waikiki beach is how easy it is to access all the stores here, since it's literally off one of the busiest streets in Waikiki, and you could even shop and view the beach for parts of this stretch of the street. If you need to go pick up something for the store while on the beach, you can do that pretty easy since there's plenty of ABCs just staring right at you. Want to grab a quick bite? Easy access to many restaurants in this area as well. Waikiki beach is great for those who want a full beach experience. As a public beach, it's also very much right around civilization compared to some of the other big beaches, so easy access to a lot of things. But since it is a public beach, the crowds will always work against you here, especially during some of the peak hours, so just make sure if you want to visit the beach and find a good spot on the sand then you need to get yourself there earlier rather than later.

Yelp
Baby blue waters brings millions of people to bathe and experience one of the most famous beaches in the world. Surprised to see how fast large catamarans cruise into shore amongst all the ignorant swimmers The large manmade rock barriers is the imminent tell tale sign of the disappearing land due to rising ocean levels. Enjoy when you can :0

Yelp
Waikiki Beach has always been on my vacation bucket list. It's Hawaii . It's sunny. Palm trees galore, sunset . A beautiful beachfront, the beach was clean and the water was clear. Beautiful place for a swim , If you plan on being out there for the day there are chair and umbrella rentals around . I have been to much better and more beautiful beaches on the mainland and around the world. Waikiki might be one of the most famous beaches in the world, but being famous and being among the best are not the same thing but still love the warm water, better than the beaches in California the water is cold . We were in a hotel just few steps away, so we came to the beach only for our morning, and after that we explored the island in our rented car.

Yelp
There may be more people in Waikiki, but it didn't feel like it. We really enjoyed visiting Waikiki Beach. Aside from it being beautiful, there are many real nice hotels, restaurants to eat at, and shops. It's a great place to swim, surf, or just soak up the sun. We would definitely go back. We stayed once at the Ilikai Resort. And this last time we stayed at the Modern Honolulu. You can also catch a luau at many places, including one of the hotels.
google avatar

Katherine P.

Yelp
It's touristy and super busy but it has everything. Lots of hotels, restaurants, stores right across the street. It a place that you have to visit to check it out if your in Oahu but you should definitely check out other beaches as well.

Yelp
My daughter is so crazy about Maui, she goes there 3 times a year! I like Maui but it's too quiet for me, I love the vibes of Waikiki beach, the city that never sleeps. Where else can you do bar hopping n hit all the happy hours? Only in paradise of course. We usually stayed in Sheraton on the beach or the Waikīkī outrigger right across from the International Market Place where I could shop till I drop n dine at the food court. There's nowhere on earth safer than Waikiki Beach. I love South Beach but it's now invaded by gangsters I still can't believe I checked in the breakwater right during a shoot out, I nearly got killed! Cabo is nice but you never know when a cartel might get there, they are already in Los Cabos so there you have it. The entire world knows about this so hotel prices skyrocketed so that's why I'm in a cruise traveling to all the Hawaiian islands it's much cheaper. The weather is 100% amazing if it rains you'll get a rainbow after 15 minutes! America is beautiful bc of Hawaii n our enemies are dying to steal our country, I wish our youth knows this, I'm a globetrotter n everywhere I go esp in Asia people are in awe when i mentioned i was fr California, they are all dying to see WAIKIKI, Miami n LA.

Yelp
Oh my gosh what incredible memories as a child and growing up and now being a Mom. It's been a while coming back home, but it feels like I never left. Still as breathtakingly beautiful as I remember. The crystal blue water and sky, the clouds the wind blowing through the palm trees. Hearing the waves crash, the hotels surrounding you! It's so absolutely peaceful and I will always love coming to this beach. It was even more special being able to share my home with beautiful baby girl, I'm so happy she was able to experience Hawaii and see where her Mom and my siblings were born! It meant so much to me, I know so many of you come here and feel the same. The warm water is so refreshing on your feet and body! What an incredible memory to come home again, I can't wait to come back and bring baby girl again! I absolutely love this beach forever and always. Thank you for keeping it as beautiful as it was when I left as a young girl. Have a beautiful day :) Paradise is here - Aloha

Jacky C.

Yelp
Probably the most touristy beach in Hawaii. Don't expect to get that sunset beach photo without anyone in your background because that is not happening. Popular surfing area and the waves are pretty decent for it without being too dangerous. It's a nice beach to set up your hotel beach chair and enjoy a nice cold beer while watching the sunset or other people wipe out on their surfboard.
google avatar

Yelp
It's a gorgeous beach in Oahu island!! It's a definitely major tourist beach and the beautiful ocean and nice city views are guaranteed! Twas our first visit but we really enjoyed the place! If you don't like congested place with people, this place is not recommended because there will be people everywhere! Yet, just to have an experience, visiting here once is definitely worth it!
google avatar

Tiffany M.

Yelp
Such a pretty place ! The water is not clear, but the temperature was really nice mid-October and the water is pretty calm close to the shore. There's even a section of this beach where it's solely just for people who want to chill in the water due to a stone barrier. There is a lifeguard most of the day, and there's always a lot of people but it never felt crowded (in October at least !). My husband and I never had a difficult time finding a place on the sand to set down our beach towel. We also never used it, but there is a rinsing station by the beach as well. It is super tourist-y but I definitely saw the appeal of this beach. I don't think it's super worth it to go far to see and play at this beach, but if you're already staying in Waikiki, you might as well try hanging out in the waters for a bit !
google avatar

Stephen W.

Yelp
Great beach as everyone knows. But it is also a great place to just hang out. Really interesting trees. Lots of benches for picnics or reading. The ocean breeze feels wonderful. Fun to people watch even if you don't swim in the ocean, which is gorgeous. Public parking along the street is just .50 an hour. Not easy to find but if you are lucky enough to grab a spot you can park for 4 hours.
google avatar

Mario B.

Yelp
A beach... at Waikiki... need I say more? That alone is enough to earn it 5 stars. The place is beautiful, the views are amazing, the water is clear and warm, the sand is nice and soft. Stripping everything else away, you'll be hard pressed to find many other beaches that can rival it. The bad thing about it? Everyone knows it so don't be surprised if it's jammed packed of tourists and locals alike. Also in a way it's lost its Hawaiian spirit and culture. It's just extremely touristy. If you can beat the crowds or manage to somehow come on a day that's not full, you'll find yourself in paradise.
google avatar

Thania M.

Yelp
From the moment we were able to find parking right in front to stepping out and listening to the ocean waves the beautiful scenery the people, everyone casual having so much fun still playing in the water at dark. We walked on the beach, on the street in and out of hotels, restaurants. shops the tiki torches the lighted trees, the beautiful landscaping everything that makes Hawaii such a beautiful tropical State .
google avatar

Merihan D.

Yelp
It's a beautiful beach with restaurants and stores close by and delicious drinks nearby. The water is warm and sometimes it can get windy depending on the day. Less people go out at the beach at night so it's nice for a night walk. Also, on Fridays they have fireworks at 8 pm and that's every Friday so bring your family and enjoy it. It does get crowded in the afternoon, so come early in the morning 7am or 8 am.
google avatar

Brigitte L.

Yelp
Amazing beach!! And it wasn't that crowded on any of the days we visited. Easily accessible from the Hilton Vacation resort area. They have a few areas available to rent beach umbrellas, chairs, paddle and boogie boards, etc. The chairs and umbrella with run about $25 per hour if you opted to do this. Water is clear and waves were not that rough. Great snorkeling and my daughter saw some fish out in the deeper water. Beautiful view for the sunset also. Loved coming here during our vacation!
google avatar

Christian - Jacob P.

Yelp
This beach is immaculate! I absolutely love this beach, the water is so nice and the sand is so soft when you walk onto it. If I lived near here I would come here every week.
google avatar

Darwin P.

Yelp
Our adventures in Oahu continued with the main beach here: Waikiki Beach. Like almost every other spot we had in our itinerary, it was walking distance. The day was humid, around 75 degrees, and a busy beach with high activity made the vibes fun The waves are the warmest I've been in, and I'll say Waikiki Beach enter my top 3 beaches in my list of favorites. Water is warmer than Cali waters, and you can go in at any given time. This is potentially the best area to visit in Hawaii
google avatar

Daniel C.

Yelp
Based on a Saturday afternoon in January this beach is just too jam packed to recommend. Not to say there aren't many fun scenes to enjoy, eg., the superior two on two beach volleyball matches, the almost comically extroverted Aloha Ambassadors engaging tourists in conversation, and the kalakaua Ave strip with its lively restaurants and beach shops. Overall, for us, it's pretty hectic and a pass.
google avatar

Suzie R.

Yelp
When in Oahu you must go and visit Waikiki Beach. Open to the public and free. Just grab your towels and swimsuit and head to where the water is aqua blue. Lots of great hotels line right next to the beach. The water is great and doesn't have a lot of waves due to barriers further out. Not a huge sandy beach but you never should have a problem finding a spot on the beach. Great for young families or those not experienced swimmers.
google avatar

Stan P.

Yelp
It's been 3 years since we have been here but it's still just amazing. We brought a tent and got a great spot inside the breakers with shade at 10:30 am.
google avatar

Marc M.

Yelp
Great for people watching, the Ala Moana mall on one end, and Kapiolani Park on the other - to breathe and recover from the madness of Waikīkī. Best to seek beach time elsewhere on the island.
google avatar

Dan L.

Yelp
Get to the west end early and sit on the wave break wall for the sunset. You will have people behind you standing waiting for you to leave.
google avatar

Christina Y.

Yelp
This beach felt like one of the most touristy ones in the area, but there are a lot of shaded spots you can sit at and avoid having to bring an umbrella! The water is very clean and calm enough too. It is easy to find, but you will have to find metered or garage parking where all the shops are. There are other beaches around that actually have free parking lots, so the parking situation here was a tad frustrating. Would I come back to this beach if I visited Hawaii again? Hmm probably not, but it was a decent experience despite the crowd. I just prefer something more quiet. Pros: Water is great, shaded spots, rinsing area Cons: Larger crowds, noisy
google avatar

Stefan T.

Yelp
Beautiful clean sand. Warm ocean water. Incredible sunsets. Can get crowded as its a well known tourist destination. The sand and ocean water is so clean it is really incredible. Living near the bay and looking at the brown water there with green foam and bits of trash along the shoreline - it is almost shocking how this is so perfectly clean. I've been to Manhatten Beach lots - and that is ok - beautiful too - but much colder and there are so many blobs of black tar that get stuck on your feet. Mexico down south - been there too - somehow this is a little cleaner and more pleasant. You listen to the wind blowing through palm trees. You see Diamond Head off to the left. You feel the warm ocean water as you take a step into the ocean. The water is bright blue and it goes as far as the eye can see. There might be a rainbow - a bit of very momentary light rain is common. The comfort of having your hotel room just steps away adds to the enjoyment. The only downside is how its so popular. This is no secret and at peak hours you will be surrounded with lots of people. I'm no expert in all the different places to enjoy beaches but we did have a rental car and as you drive around the island there is no shortage of waterfront real estate. This is one of these vacation spots you could come back over and over to. I think many people choose to see a different island every time they come but that choice is yours. I don't see any harm in making repeat trips here unless there is a particular interest you have that another island would better cater to.
google avatar

Ed U.

Yelp
I think this is the first place any prospective tourist thinks of when they visualize Hawaii. With Diamond Head in the background and encircled by luxury hotels, the legendary beach stretches from the Hilton Hawaiian Village on the west to Kapiolani Park on the east. In other words, it's the most crowded stretch of Honolulu imaginable, simultaneously frustrating and essential. Good luck finding a patch of sand to yourself. Moreover, Jamie W. and I weren't expecting the burgeoning homeless population congregating on the beach. They often take up the public benches or find cover near the palm trees. Believe me, you'll see them. You'll also see the bronze statue of surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku at around the midpoint of the beach facing Kalakaua Avenue (photo: https://bit.ly/40pKKzd). For other photo ops, there's Surfboard Alley, which is exactly what you think it is (photo: https://bit.ly/3JzFbr5), and the Waikiki Walkway, a concrete pier where you can get a seaworthy perspective of the beach (photo: https://bit.ly/3JUaAWB). When we felt like winding down, we took advantage of the available rockers on the front terrace of the Moana Surfrider. Great people watching, too. RELATED - Exploring Hawaii? Yelp
Best beach by far. The sand feels a little rougher this year like more coral had come in. You can either 1) float 2) snorkel or 3) wear pool shoes. Quite a few folks were complaining about the sharp rocks near the edge. Those that had a few beers in them still felt them but not as much. Lol Turtles may swim up to you as Turtle Cove is nearby. Look but do not touch. Volleyball nets, deck chairs with umbrellas, snacks, pools with slides...this beach is still the best for the military. And that price these days, you cannot beat that with a bat. Those who have served and sacrificed for our country deserve this. Bonus: those mechanics for the a/c units at the Hale Koa are doing the Lord's work. Their hard work makes me wanna write a separate thank you letter just for them. Friendly and helpful. These gifted hands folks need to be hired out to the Embassy Suites in San Diego to fix all of their hotel a/c units.

Yelp
We stayed in a boutique hotel in walking distance to Waikiki Beach. I've grown up having classmates visit Hawaii and brag about their vacations to Hawaii, and it wasn't until I visited that I could finally see what they were all talking about. When we flew in and headed to land at the Honolulu Airport, we got a gorgeous aerial view of Waikiki Beach and all its hotels, greenery, and gorgeous blue waters. The waters are such vibrant and gorgeous hues of blues and turquoise, and it's an incredibly touristy area for good reason! It's beautiful, clean, warm, and safe. Boyfriend and I enjoyed romantic strolls across Waikiki Beach, enjoying the sunset, taking pictures, people watching, and taking in the breathtaking views of Oahu.
google avatar

Eurasia L.

Yelp
This is of course none other than the most visited beach. Sandy beach and just incredible. The water was perfect and the sun was out and about, enough to get my cheeks to blush. How can say anything but nice about this view. So crowded but who cares! I enjoyed my hour getting my feet wet, took a short swim. Here, you'll meet people from all around the world even my neighbors from Vancouver. Haha! We wished each other well by saying " let's enjoy this beautiful day at Waikiki"! How cool was that!? So blessed to experience this beautiful place.

Yelp
Waikiki Beach is one of the most popular beaches located on Oahu. Features white sand beaches and a lagoon for those who don't want the crashing waves on them. The water is clear and warm with the average temperature being about 80 degrees in the summer. Can be very busy, with very limited parking. Do not park at the Zoo, as they will tow. Limited parking. Can park on street down North, but very limited parking.

Yelp
Talk about a beautiful destination! Waikiki Beach is where to go if you are visiting and looking for a one-stop shop with views, beach, food, drinks, and shopping! YES! My first time in Honolulu it gave me a Miami South Beach vibe for sure. It was a bit crowded, We enjoyed it and you can enjoy a whole day there! There is plenty to see and do. Love the culture and the history that I have seen plus with the white sand and blue water it was a great time spent. One thing I was sad about is how old the city buildings were as well as seeing a lot of homeless people!

Yelp
Wonderful beach with tons to do. But crowded. So.. come early. watch the sunrise or sunset. Or come for an early workout. Their is surf lessons, SUP, catamaran, sunset cruise. Or just lay on the beach and tan. Sit at a close bar and people watch. Such a beautiful beach but it is crowded. The surf the water and especially the beach is crowded. But home of Duke and such an iconic beach needs a 5 star rating.

Yelp
Clean and beautiful with deep blue skies, warm turquoise ocean and white sand. The famous Waikiki Beach and at the heart of tourist central. So it can get quite crowded depending on what time you're there. Despite being a tourist spot, everyone should still visit this beach at least once if ever visiting Waikiki. Relaxing and enjoyable. Also kids friendly.

Yelp
After 10 years, it's time for an updated review!! Beautiful and clean beach. Absolutely wonderful! The water is clear and warm. I could not ask for more. Yes, it can get crowded. You're in Waikiki...that's to be expected. I'd recommend either visiting early or late for the best photo opportunities. Purchase a floaty for the most fun. If you purchase one at an ABC store, they will inflate it for free.

Yelp
Waikiki Beach is clearly one of the best-known beaches in the world. It is lined with high-rise hotels, so privacy doesn't exist. You can rent or ride on all types of water sports equipment. The sand is very white, clean & fun to swim or people watch. Make Waikiki Beach a must see on your list of what to do in Honolulu..

Yelp
My review is based on the Royal-Moana Beach area. This is a great spot to watch the sunset from. The boats that are usually docked here set sail before sunset, leaving you with unobstructed views of Diamond Head. We came around 5:30 and found a nice spot to relax on the soft sand. It wasn't too crowded in this area, which was also a plus.
