The hotel was absolutely amazing. Everything was clean and beautiful. It was an easy walk to the beach. We had Wi-Fi TV kitchen. Seems that I’ve diabetes. I have to cook a lot of my meals and this place having small kitchens was amazing. As well they do offer on-site parking, which is cheaper than parking on the streets and safer. We will. We will be going back in September for anniversary. Can’t wait to see you guys.

We had an incredible experience! We stayed for 6 nights & did not have any issues at all. The room was super nice, location is perfect (right on the beach & close to lots of restaurants/shopping) and the front desk was kind & helpful! Out of the 3 front desk workers, Jonathan was by far the kindest. He always had a positive attitude, was smiling & really tried to help people. The other two were less friendly & one was even kind of rude to guests in front of us but was fine with us. Overall a great experience! Would definitely stay here again.

Google
A budget friendly hotel that's close to the beach and shops. Everything presented as it did online, although a little unclean in the bathroom, the overall experience was great! Kudos to the reception team for their kindness and assistance whenever needed!

This is a great location with on site parking. Yes it’s an older property but well maintained and clean! Friendly staff and close to restaurants, the beach, the zoo and more. |Our unit was great. Everything we needed and the 10th floor lanai is awesome. Great views and a lovely place to enjoy your morning coffee!|I’d stay again as the price was also reasonable.

The location is hard to beat. It's right on the beach and a short distance to walk anywhere in Waikiki. There is great swimming on Waikiki beach for families. However, the room was much smaller than the pictures looked on the website. The smell from the restaurant on the 2nd floor was SO strong and we could smell it all night. All in all, it's not a bad place option but I would be willing to pay a little more for one of the surrounding hotels next time.

This is one of my favorite rentals in Waikiki. The location is perfect and the service is always great from any attendant working the counter. The parking is great however it’s very expensive like everywhere else in downtown. As a rental it would be nice if it were included in the cost but otherwise it’s a nice place. The pool is mediocre and no hot tub.

We had a great stay! It’s right at the beach, and everything in honolulu is walkable if you wanted to forgo a car. There is parking for compact vehicles that you can purchase for $35 a day, and its right at the building. Downstairs is an LGBTQ+ bar so at night you can hear some of the bass music but its really not that bothersome. Theres also a burger joint downstairs on the first floor for some good food. Overall we’ll be staying there again when we go back, it was affordable and we got what we payed for.

Google
The reason we booked this hotel was due to the location in relation to the beach, the rooms we thought were very nice, clean and comfortable. The photos of the room were not the others that you see listed. I posted the real pics of our actual room. The staff was helpful and friendly, with zero complaints in that department. The location was very close to the beach, which was a plus.!

Yelp
I loved the easy check in and check out. Rooms had nice Refrigerators and kitchens. The a/c was great. Staff was great! Lobby had excursion desk and a burger joint on the same floor as the lobby. Parking onsite is convenient. We paid and picked our parking spot beforehand for a 15 Passenger van. Everything is close, beach, dining and other fun. Definitely will stay again.

Yelp
What drew us in to this hotel was the decent price and the amazing distance from all things Waikiki. Compared to other hotels in the area, this was by far the cheapest. What you pay is what you get. However, when we arrived to the room, we were less than impressed. The first thing we noticed was the cleanliness and how it wasn't well maintained. We learned that this establishment doesn't clean your room everyday like a normal hotel. The curtains were brown on the bottom, the toilet wasn't flushing, and just looked like someone left their items there for someone else to pick up. When we noticed the toilet wasn't flushing at all, the gentleman at the from said "oh we will get it fixed tomorrow." Tomorrow? You expect us to hold it in for over a day? That should be an immediate fix. When we noticed the bugs in the room the next day, he said there was nothing he could do expect for us to "contact the host." The ones at the front desk do nothing helpful except check you in. This specific room (309) is located right above a nightclub. Some nights it wasn't too bad the noise, but other nights it was very loud and had to wait until 2AM to close. They provided ear plugs for that. The only redeeming quality was the view on the patio. They provided a chair which was so sunken in, my partner couldn't even sit on it. We mentioned this to the host but were ignored. If they had housekeeping and a manager that kept up with the issues we had, this would make me want to come back! The price was there - but when we saw the quality of the room and stuff, makes me not want to give this place a second chance.

Yelp
The good is that it's in Waikīkī with somewhat of an ocean view & near the Zoo. The bad is that the homeless have taken over the park across the street (between balcony & ocean) so they're in every photo we took from balcony. There is a gay bar on the second floor so the YMCA song kept us up until 3am every night. The staff were friendly. The room (#510 - airBnB) was perfect.

Yelp
What a horrible place to stay. We could have done better. Starting before 4am there are delivery trucks and buses continuously. We were moved out of our reserved room due to maintenance and then had to move to our original room the next day. The second Room has walkway lights on all night that shine in the room. There are no windows due to a fishbowl privacy issues. The sheets in both rooms were grey with little balls all over them. The second room smelled horribly of stale cigarette smoke despite it being a smoke free hotel. Nobody cares either about any issues. Stay somewhere else!

Yelp
Fraudulent Booking, Horrible experience, Dirty and disgusting I booked the room. I was assured no other charges would be due if I paid in full during the booking, which I did. On arrival, I was directed to a room on the 5th floor full of clutter and supplies. A desk was buried in there with a gentleman who was there to check people in. During check-in, he informed me that I needed to pay $120 in cleaning fees before I could check in. I informed him I paid in full, and after several minutes and failed attempts to contact the booking agency, he said I couldn't stay, even though I paid for the room unless I paid an additional $120. We had somewhere to be and needed to check in and get going, so I had no choice but to pay for it. He said I could try to get it back from the booking company. He called me an hour later to say he had spoken to the booking company and the booking company made a mistake and would not reimburse us. We went up to the room, and it was horrible. The room was nothing like the picture online. It was dirty; the bed was the worst I have ever seen or felt; we didn't use the bedding; it smelled, windows were dirty, there were old vape cartilages in the drawers with naked little doll things, there was exposed wood and holes in the room, the microwave was hanging off the shelf by at least 5 inches because it didn't fit. The fridge's ice machine and water dispenser were broken; the water wouldn't get hot; it just stayed lukewarm, and the room was horrible. We left as soon as we woke up, although we had no plans, and our flight wasn't till 5 pm. We travelled a lot, and this was the worst hotel experience we have ever had. The fraudulence behind this experience was at its worst. I'm drafting a letter to BBB, and I will alert others via social media about this horrible experience. I have pictures to post. We paid a total of $320.14 for a 16 hr nightmare experience. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE! This was a putrid horrifying nightmare of an experience!! We were charged a cleaning fee upon check in. When we did check in, some rude person at the front desk told us to go to the 5th floor then totally dismissed us. When we got to the room on the 5th floor check in was nothing had ever experienced. It looked like it was in a bedroom that was turned into a makeshift storage closet full of clutter and supplies with a desk jammed in the corner and plastic tarps taped to the floors. We were told that we only are allowed to have a towel every few days and we have to take the dirty ones to the basement ourselves. When we got to the room we were horrified. The floors were so disgusting that we didn't want to take off our shoes. The bed was broken and sunken in, the sheets were discolored and stained and dirty with specks of food and dirt! I refused to sleep on the bed. I slept on the couch which wasn't much better. The bathroom was so small and has the world's smallest sink. It must have been an 8inch sink. The shower/bath had just enough space to stand but it was so gross that I wouldn't want to stand barefoot in there. There was a strange loft-thing above the shower where I found someone's old bathing suit. The shower didn't even work! It couldn't be turned on! Had to rinse off at the beach shower instead. The blinds on the windows were broken and held together with scotch tape. The layout of the room itself was so strange. The bed was stuck in between the wall and a massive pillar in the middle of the room which made it hard to access the bed (not that I was interested in laying on the bed at all). After closer inspection we noticed that there were bugs all over the bed. They were coming from a hole in the top corner of the room above the bed. There were hundreds of them. I'm so glad that I did not have my children on this trip I wouldn't feel safe having them there. This place is by NO MEANS family friendly. The entire building is putrid top to bottom!! My wife and I almost ended up sleeping in our car instead! Worst experience EVER!! Nearly ruined our entire vacation!! They also shut off the water while we were there for hours. Our room smelled like cigarettes and weed. I don't have a single positive thing to say about this place. It is a safety and health hazard!!! The whole building should be condemned!! I I could give negative stars on yelp I would.

Yelp
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Despite the friendly staff, my experience was marred by a surprising $150 cleaning fee. The room's cleanliness was subpar, with the unpleasant discovery of roaches in the fridge. Moreover, the absence of blackout curtains meant constant daylight at nighttime, disrupting sleep. A disappointing stay considering the inconveniences and unexpected charges.

Yelp
Most terrible service ever! The left doesn't know from the right?! We reserved a parking and an employee was parking in our prepaid spot?! No accommodations at all just "oh, someone is in there." The. Checking in there was a half eaten tangerine left on the counter and a roach motel left on the side of the bed! Just fantastic for a local girl to come back and have my son treated like crap there! Highly wouldn't recommend! Be aware!

Yelp
We stayed at one of the VRBOs here on the 4th floor, number 411 (hosted by Mark). We chose this place because it seemed like the best value based on our preferences. I think we chose well and I would strongly recommend this place to anyone on a budget who cares about location and view. We were right at the end of the Waikiki strip, a block from the beach and our balcony looked right out over the zoo and park with an absolutely glorious view of diamond head. Each morning we had coffee on the balcony in the comfy chairs, taking in the inspirational view, and glancing down to our right to watch the surfers catching waves. There's even a thoughtfully placed mirror in the room by the window so you can see the reflection of the beach from various places in the room. The room itself was furnished in a basic manner: nothing fancy but everything was there--even more than we had hoped for. The room had 2 sets of beach chairs and an umbrella which came in handy, extra beach towels, a broom and vacuum to keep up with the constant flow of sand coming off our clothes. We asked for a water kettle because we brew lots of coffee and they happily provided us with one. The air conditioner was a bit on the noisy side but we never found it necessary, perhaps the tile helped keep the room cool enough. There was a bit of a funky smell to the room, but it didn't bother me. Others have complained about the noise from the bar below. We could certainly hear it, but we've lived in several noisy apartments before and it didn't really bother us or keep us from sleeping. The hotel lobby was really nice and the staff were all friendly and helpful. We didn't want to spend the money on parking at the hotel (spaces are limited anyway). Although it was often pretty crowded, we always managed to find free parking in the residential neighbourhood that's about a 10minute walk to the northeast. Honestly this is the first place I will try to book when I go back to Honolulu. The view and location make this a luxury on a budget

Yelp
BE AWARE OF COCKROACHES! HANDS DOWN THE WORST HOTEL IVE EVER STAYED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! THERES THREE ROACHES I FOUND IN LESS THAN ONE HOUR STAY!! We checked into hotel around 8:30pm and quickly went out to get food. After we came back around 10. I just want to quickly shower and sleep cuz we have early scuba diving tomorrow morning. BUT! I came to realize quickly this is a shit hotel. The sink in the bathroom only the hot water nob works meaning only hot water runs, no cold water. The sink is stuck so water doesn't drain. WORST OF ALL, SO MANY COCKROACHES! I found three in less than one hr of staying, that's ridiculous! I went down to front desk wanting a room change, but the front desk staff saying he is only responsible for checking people in and he couldn't do anything about changing room or fix anything in the room. Then he gave me a number to call who's supposed to be everyone's boss. And only him get to make the decision of room change? What complete bullshit. I called this boss guy Ron multiple times and no he doesn't pick up. I wanted to check out the room and get refund and go to another hotel but the front desk guy also said that's not within his power to get me checked out and refunded. Now 11:36 pm I'm in the room full of roaches paranoid. And repeat, never stay in this hotel. I'm like the least picky person ever and this hotel angers me so much! ----updates: since hotel fee is no refundable Ron credited us one night back and free upgrade us to the tenth floor with ocean view. Pretty awesome view. Anyway, no complaints after. Hopefully they will take care of their cockroaches problems after. This is not something you want to deal with on your vacation.

Yelp
The manager Roxy is the best! Extremely helpful and personable to the point where you consider her ohana. Will always recommend her when traveling to Hawaii.we had a studio that was clean and space well used. It actually was very comfortable and relaxing. We will definitely be back next time we visit.

Yelp
I rented my room through vrbo, and stayed on the Diamond Head side. I had a beautiful view, and I love how close to the beach it was. the parking garage had more space in each stall than any parking area I experienced on my travels in Waikiki (I drove my older family around so walking wasn't an option). I thought the hotel was very nice. It is not a brand spanking new, bright and shiny hotel. It's a clean well cared for older one. So I guess it depends on what you're looking for. But for a room with a Diamond Head / park view, steps away from the beach that doesn't break the bank? I thought it was perfect.

Yelp
The location of this hotel is so great and so close to everything! However, a few draw backs 1. Rooms are very small 2. One wall is essentially a window which is great but without black out curtains, the lights of the city, more specifically other hotel patios across the way made it very bright in the room, even in the middle of the night. It was difficult to sleep. 3. They charge you a cleaning fee even though they don't clean your room during the duration of your stay. They clean when you leave. When you do leave, you are expected to take out the trash. 4. Speaking of the cleaning fee, we booked online through Castle Resorts and paid the $200 cleaning fee but when we arrived they said that company never gives them that money and we have to pay that amount again in person and contact the online company for a refund. What!? Why are you working with a booking company that treats your customers like that!?

Yelp
My fiancé had never been to Hawaii, so I really wanted us to have a great time. I really liked the location for this hotel and the view from the photos were awesome! As far as the location and our view was concerned--5 stars--especially for the value. However, everything else about the place was just okay. Check-in was pretty easy, but apparently they forgot to have me sign something, so they called me the next day and I had to go back to the front desk when I got back to the hotel. Not great. The rooms were kinda small and the mattress and pillows weren't fantastic, but we were able to sleep okay and the view made everything worth it. We loved sitting on the lanai with a glass of wine and enjoying the view or afternoon tropical showers. When we were going to check out, we were going to leave our bags with the front desk, since our flight wasn't til 4pm. Unfortunately, there was a sign that said "Be Right Back", so we waited there for 15 minutes with no one in sight. So, we brought our bags back up to our rooms and walked next door for brunch. Half way through brunch my fiancé went back over and was able to check out and leave our bags with the front desk. It's definitely not a secure space, but we got everything back, so that was good. Overall, we would stay here again. I really love this part of Waikiki and it's a really easy to walk everywhere. You can pop over to the main drag to go to restaurants, shopping, hit the beaches or hike up to Diamond Bar. Possibilities are endless and just depends on what you're up for that day!

Yelp
The worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. Staying here was like paying someone to give me chores. I had to change rooms on arrival, because of pillows that still smelled like a prior guest's hair (519), I was sent to a room that was already occupied (900), then another one that smelled like cigarette smoke (a green room on floor 4), and then finally to a room where I was horribly bitten by bugs (518). The next night I was moved back to 519 and thankfully the bed had been changed, but I had to spend several hours of my trip going through all my luggage and disinfecting everything. The bites all over my hands and feet were very uncomfortable when I was trying to walk or grab things for at least 3 days. I asked for a refund for my stay, but the staff told me they needed to have someone inspect the room before they could confirm any refund. I felt like this was a deflection, because I had no bites when I went to bed on Wednesday, 9/27 and woke up 8 hours later covered. I hadn't been anywhere other than the room where I could have gotten those bites. I tried being patient to wait for a resolution, but after a full week and an ignored email from the manager Ronald Sugihara. I had to reach back out to threaten this bad review and disputing my room charges and within 5 minutes Ronald responded refusing to accept liability for the hotel's infestation and no apologies for other uncomfortable aspects of the stay or cleanliness. This hotel is awful while still charging similar prices to better hotels nearby, such as the Aston Waikiki or the White Sands. It's disgusting how they operate. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Yelp
We used the part of this hotel that is privately owned and rented as an Airbnb. As such, the Airbnb was not just a hotel room, but a fully appointed studio apartment. Full size fridge, cooktop, granite counter tops, and a microwave. No need to go out to eat for every meal. Being in an Airbnb any interaction with the hotel management would be minimal. But we did have to register with the front desk and all the public areas (pool, lobby, elevators, laundry, and rooftop sitting area) are managed by the hotel. We arrived early and decided to register with the front desk and then wait for the Airbnb owners strict check in time. The front desk receptionist was great. She got our names and voluntarily looked to see if the cleaning company had been in and out already to see if the room was ready (early). The room was ready and she said "don't worry about being early head on up." What a great Aloha Spirit! As for the common areas of the hotel, it was super clean and the rooftop sitting area was great for sunrise and fairly busy in the evening. I can verify they have laundry in the basement, but did not use it myself. The pool is old school at around 8ft. deep, and chilly. We hopped in just to check it off our list, but whoa...chilly. There are two restaurants attached to the Hotel (but not affiliated). One is Teddy's Bigger Burger. Great location with many restaurants nearby. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Too noisy for me! Felt like spring break. Nightclub in the building or nearby, partying past 3 am, traffic, sirens. I left after one night and walked away from my full 4-night payment just to rescue my vacation.

Yelp
Location location location! Steps from the beach, easy bus access everywhere go to the ABC store and get the Holo card $2.00 to activate and 7.50 per day per unlimited rides. Use google maps to plan. The room was great for 1-2. Had a full refrigerator cook top dishes and pans. The view was beautiful. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Room clean! Would recommend! And definitely get a Mai Tai on the second floor!

Yelp
Over priced, we stayed 2 nights and were charged an additional $117 cleaning fee. When I checked in I was sent up to a storage room on the 5th floor to complete my check in. It was a joke, stacked with toilet paper, cleaning supplies, towels. The Guest Manager who then completed my check in said I had been vastly overcharged by Expedia and she would fix it. She said it would be $117 instead of $368. I thought wow, great. The hotel is shabby and looks very dirty so I thought that was reasonable. When we went to the room, which was the smallest room I've ever seen, we were surprised. It is NOT a hotel. It appears to be someone's condo. There was an empty beer can on the nightstand. Just not at all acceptable. I returned to the Guest Manager's space, she was gone. An employee looked up my reservation, said the $117 was ADDITIONAL to my $368. I tried to contact the "support " number numerous times and the call would not go through. A total rip off.

Yelp
Firstly big thank you to Roxy, for making my child and I feel like Ohana. Roxy booked us in a great room, made sure we had safe transportation and anything else we needed...She's definitely the auntie of the building. The hotel is located in a prime location-walking distance to the beach, stores, restaurants, local transportation, zoo and other landmarks. The Waikiki Grand will be our go to while visiting Honolulu. *Note there's three different entities (businesses) under one roof and I would recommend booking directly with Castle Resorts and Hotels.

Yelp
Great location, friendly front desk staff and budget friendly. We stayed at an AirBnB in the Waikiki Grand Hotel. We had a great experience. The corner studio unit more than met our needs. The swimming pool was nice and deep. However, it was so cold! It's in the shade for the bulk of the day, so beware! The hotel is conveniently located from Waikiki Beach. At night, walk to the Royal Hawaiian Center for the free Hulu shows. Also, there are some great Farmer's markets on Tuesday and Thursday nights. My favorite night time market was on Kalakaua Ave near Beach Walk. There are multiple bus stops nearby. If you're interested in riding the bus, request a day pass ($5.50/pp) when you board.

Yelp
This hotel is economical, clean and has a great friendly staff. They are right across the street from the soon and if you go to the 10th floor you get an awesome view of diamond head, zoo and Waikiki Walls!

Yelp
The Waikiki Grand Hotel is one of my favorite buildings in Waikiki. It's not oceanfront but it is mere steps to the beach, with an unobstructed million-dollar view of the beach, the park and Diamond Head from the rooftop deck, which is one of the most relaxing places to sit and take in the sights, the breezes and even the sounds of the birds. Then the lobby with its own cross breezes is an equally enjoyable spot to relax to the sound of someone on the grand piano and people watching as the city is vibrant and diverse. The lobby is also where you'll find Roxy, one of Waikiki's most effervescent, helpful and kindest front desk operators!! She is golden and makes one feel like Ohana (family). The Grand (as it is locally known) is really a gem! We should all be so lucky to stay here!!

Yelp
So the first couple nights were ok, then there's a black out. Which I guess is understandable. About $150 worth of left overs spoiled and ice cream melted. I went to The front desk to tell them and they started basically saying I was lying, "how could your food have spoiled" like maybe because the power was off for over 12 hours and our rooms get hella hot and humid without the AC and fans. Luckily I'm younger and I was able too sleep through the nights but I heard multiple "elderly" people who sounded scared about the night. Besides that it would be World war 3 if I dared to bring any of these problems up to the front desk. Another big problem I had was the towel situation. You have to swap out old towels, I get that but what I don't get is why every Rowell we ever received still looked dirty as heck. When we arrived they told us too keep the room clean and dusted how it was when we arrived, when we arrived I took photos of all the dust on top of furniture, there was a thick layer on it. I wasn't going to post this but I saw the ladies at the front desk arguing with other guests about the same problems I was having. Zero hospitality, they try to brush away any problems. Oh haha and then the 4th day our water went out too. It was definitely a trip staying their. Idk what the worst part was, the front desk who tries to brush off your problems and argue, the power going out, the water going out, the spoiled left overs, the dirty towels or the dusty room.

Yelp
I booked this online and mistakenly set it up for 3pm not 3am when I needed it. Instead of no reimbursement I got to choose a different date with a " upgrade to a better room". There was a $70 cleaning fee that was not noted when purchasing the room. And they even have a charge for moped parking, I mean come on! The room had no shower curtain and the lights did not work as they should. I could not work the TV because of the three remotes and the pitcher for water in the refrigerator was broken, so why keep it? I tried to talk to the manager because I wanted a full refund but he was " too busy to meet with you". As a reasonable, paying local customer I expected more. Overall: I won't come back, and will not refer it. I have stayed in hostels nicer. A pro was the keyless entry, I like the pin codes for the rooms.

Yelp
This hotel is fantastic! It's about a half a block from the ocean and the top floor common area for guests is magnificent with unobstructed views of Diamond Head, Kapiolani Park, and the ocean. The Waikiki Zoo is right across the street. Many excellent dining options are within walking distance and there's a couple of restaurants in the hotel itself which serve tasty food also. The front desk staff are very friendly - Roxy is incredible and is always smiling, very efficient, and overflowing with aloha! I really enjoy staying here and highly recommend it. Aloha

Yelp
Walk to the beach is like 2 mins! Great! Obviously the hotel itself is not in prime condition looking at what others have said, but I booked through airbnb and it was AMAZING! We booked a "penthouse" unit on the roof top unit 1004, where the view is AMAZING of Diamond Head and the Beach! The small kitchenette was stocked well with a nice fridge and the bed was the best ever! Our stay included parking. This hotel is in the best location, south Waikiki beach, quiet, clean and the beach has less ppl, cleaner, and just better. The room we reserved was a bit small, but really clean, nicely decorated, and bright! Our door opened to the amazing views of Diamond head and the beach. We watched the sunset and sunrise almost everyday! You can't fit 4 adults comfortably, probably more like 2 adults and 2 children. It's not a private patio but it wasn't very crowded and we always had a table. I saw some ppl who weren't staying at the penthouses, come up and have a glass a wine and take photos. It also seems like there are residents at this hotel and they came up almost every day (as a group) and stayed up there for some time. This isn't a good place for families with children, nor the party hard 20s. This is for couples 35+. There are alot of mature guests here. The only time we dealt with the hotel management was when we wondered how to use the laundry by the underground parking and if they had a beach umbrella we can borrow. They didn't have any beach umbrella's and told us how to get in and out of the laundry room. Other than that we didn't really need them since our room was fully stocked.

We are thinking of purchasing two units in the condotel as investments. We decided to book a weekend at the Waikiki Grand Hotel to see what the customer experience would be like. It was horrible. When we booked through the Castle website. They advertised that there is parking on site. Hence we booked. We check in two weeks later and the front desk tells us there is no parking on site and that we should've called to confirm. We ended up having to park my car across Waikiki at another hotel that allowed public parking at $30. Why advertise you have parking on site when you really don't? This experience left a horrible taste in my mouth. And I canceled the rest of my stay and also decided against purchasing the two units for sale in the hotel. And also - the Aunty at the front desk can tone down the attitude. We are not tourists. We are Kama'aina and kanaka maoli - same as you. Is this how you welcome others in your hale? SHAME! Castle Resorts is this how you treat your Local people? I've already filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and contesting the charges with our credit card company. Who wants to pay for services that are not delivered as promised? I've also shared my experiences with followers on my travel website; and my FB and IG page with over 5,000 faithful followers.

Yelp
This is the most precious place on the whole island it's a gorgeous boutique hotel on the edge of the Kapi'olani park at the foot of Diamond Head I mean they're so incredibly friendly and loving at this place. Especially Roxy At the front desk. I wanna go back go back go back again and again I feel so at home and safe

Yelp
First of all the hotel was nothing like the pictures on the website the first we got was room 801 the room was terrible dirty had a bad Oder finger prints all over the window and they had the nerve to put somone in that room so they gave us another room 818 no room key no telephone had to get our on towels every other day and they don't clean the rooms until you check out would definitely not refer this hotel to anyone . Thanks the only nice view was on the sun deck and found out about that on a fluke from one of the residents and yes when went up the there and the view was breathtaking can see Diamond head and a lot of the Island

Yelp
If your looking at this place, I'm going to assume you don't have money to burn and are trying to do Hawaii on the cheap like us. With that in mind I'm giving five stars for value and location. With all fees, taxes and base rate combined we paid $164 a day to stay here...and that's cheap for a "beach front" hotel in Waikiki. But there are trade-offs. No shuttle service from airport to hotel (we used Uber). This is timeshare/hotel which means you get a nice sized room with a complete kitchen, but no maid service. (For us this was no big deal.) Other pluses: Great laundry facility on site, If you have a Netflix or Amazon account, the TV pulls them up effortlessly. Very friendly and helpful front desk that is always staffed. Every bus terminal you might need nearby. And a surf beach and lots of shopping a couple of hundred feet out your door. If your new to the area like we were, here are some tips: 1)The Bus is cheap ($5.50 for an all day pass) and will take you anywhere you might want to go (eventually). 2) ALL the Beaches are open to the public. That big fancy hotel doesn't own its beach. If you see a beach you like, use it. 3) Go to the Marukame Udon Cafe (across from the International Market Place) for your first restaurant visit. Go an hour before traditional meal times for a shorter line. Trust me here. The noodles are great but the real star is the tempura. There is a reason this restaurant has over 8000 5 star reviews on Yelp. And Be Happy! Your in Hawaii, man!

Yelp
Oh this place!!! My travel agent looked at the pictures on the site, as did I, the rooms looked very nice and clean; unfortunately, this was not the case. Upon check in, we were greeted by Roxy, she was nice at first and welcomed us. She boasted about how nice the room was and that it had air conditioning. Oh my goodness! I knew it wasn't going to be good when we reached the room and we saw primer on the door. We walked in and oh lord, the room was very small and hideous. The curtains had holes in them, there was no dresser to put our clothes in, the air conditioner didn't work properly, and the window has masking tape that was covering some sort of damage. The bathroom had a pedestal sink, it was a nice touch, but there was no counter space for our toiletries. There was this open area in the bathroom that had a rod for hanging clothes, except, there weren't any hangers. The ceiling by the bedroom had what looked to be mold, I cannot believe the impudence of this management. They advertised falsely and gave you the impression that their facility was a nice and clean hotel. As if this wasn't bad enough, we found a little bug in the bed and their was a stain. We looked onto the balcony and there was bird feces all over the table and chairs, so much for sitting out in the evening. We contacted our travel agent who was irate, she contacted the hotel manager and front desk. My agent told me that they were going to move us to an upgraded room, however, if we weren't happy, she would insist that they let us out of the reservation without penalties. When we went to the front desk, Roxy changed her tone with us, she was rude and made comments about the fact that we didn't pay all that much for the hotel. That was inappropriate and untrue; we made more than $3,000 for the week, I don't call that cheap! We went to the room and it was better than the first one, not great by any means. We decided that we were in Hawaii to have fun, the room had a dresser and a small living area, with a kitchen. They charge a cleaning fee for what, I don't know. You have to dispose of your own garbage, and they don't give you clean towels for three days. We will NEVER stay again, lesson learned, they gave one excuse after the other as to why things were unacceptable. In the future, we will only stay at reputable hotels such as Hilton and Marriot. Never again!!!!

Yelp
I'm happy to say this place was definitely enjoyable and a great value. Lots of pros and very few cons (only one really). Check in was easy and within no time we were in our room #619. The young lady Roxy at the front desk was one of the highlights of our stay. She was helpful, down to earth, super sweet and even gave us a Mai Tai drink coupon for the bar located on the 2nd floor. A nice welcome to the island! I knew the room was going to be small, but it was a bit roomier than I expected all with a modern vibe. The air conditioner was cold and we used it the whole time. There was a full kitchen that we were able to make use of with two stove burners & stainless steel appliances giving it a nice touch. Going out to eat 3xs a day got old quick so we stocked up at Walmart and was able to hook up meals. The kitchen had everything we needed, pots/pans, utensils, plates, toaster even seasonings to cook with! The bathroom was nice and the shower's water pressure was perfect. Not one time did I encounter any type of bugs, the place was clean. The bar on the 2nd floor was fun and laid back. It's mainly a gay bar but definitely everyone is welcome and that's how they make you feel. Just a super cool vibe from everyone. Parking is tight... they have only a few spots available to purchase for your stay there for $25+tax per day (prices just increased on 08/01/19). Otherwise there's 24hr parking across the street at the zoo for $1.50/hr. We were lucky enough to get a parking spot on day two for the duration of our trip. The convenience and being able to come and go is worth the price if you're renting a car IMO. They provide free beach towels, boogie boards and snorkeling gear, just ask for it at the front desk! The one and only con: the bed was very uncomfortable. I don't think it's an actual mattress, more like a firm pad. If they invest in upgrading the mattress it'll be a perfect room for sure. My husband and I both agree we'd stay here again! We walked by other airbnb's we were thinking about staying at and we're so glad we chose Castle Waikiki Grand because those other places looked real shady in person.

Ok so here's a few more shots of the hotel. Read the captions to see why they were taken

Yelp
Off the shared sundeck --- you have the most awesome view of the ocean and Diamondhead other than that I can't recommend staying here and I'll never stay here again . This set up is very strange.. you actually have people living here, it's also a hotel and an Airbnb ....... The residents don't want the Airbnb and hotel people there, so they watch everything closely and monitor what you're doing and are not afraid to say something, they're very rude. Quiet time is 10 PM & we were standing at the elevator waiting to be picked up & talking at 10:03 PM ----one of the residents come out yelling at us to be quiet. Things are old which is understandable but things could be a much cleaner too --- when we arrived one elevator was shut down and never worked the whole time we were there. the other elevator was broken twice and we had to walk all the way up to the 10th floor ...... Front desk people are not much nicer.

Yelp
Friendly staff and proximity to the beach. We spend a whole week at Grand Waikiki and they never disappoint us. Mahalo aupito.

Yelp
If there was a zero star to be able to rate this hotel is what it deserves. Bathroom tiles are literally falling off, baseboards are warped from water damage. Can't plug in hair dryer because the vanity is too close to outlet. No iron. No coffee pot. No closet. Worst of all, NO hot water, lukewarm showers. Best excuse ever, "we can't service rooms because it's covid" and bring down your towels only after 2-3 days use. The guy employee is the worst, most miserable person who sighs if you were to ask a question. Simply the worst hotel on the island. BEWARE!! Pictures does not match property!

Yelp
Just went back in Feb 2019 and had room on the 9th floor. The furniture was raggedy and only one roll of toilet paper for the bathroom.. Speaking of the bathroom there is a giant vent/hole in the door that any person in your room can see/smell everything while you're using the bathroom. The noise in the parking lot in the middle of the night can be LOUD!! The desk staff is hit or miss and housekeeping is NOT happening. Dont ask either or you will be treated like you're an idiot. The last time we stayed here (2016) we rented a privately owned unit which was way easier. and better. When we go back we plan on paying more for Better accommodations Tldr: a good place to lay your head and thats it. For the money it's about as good as it gets. If you spend less you'll be sleeping in a hostel

Yelp
I stayed here on August 19-21, 2016. Each time I went down stairs I was welcomed or bid farewell. The staff was friendly. The queen or full bed was two beds pushed together. It was weird rolling into the crease. My scene when opening the window was an alley way and other buildings. It wasn't ugly at all, but interesting. I had to keep my curtain closed as I could see others in their rooms in the building across the way, and sure they could see me in mine. No daily housekeepers to give fresh towels per day, as they do have a sign that says they visit about 3x per week or so. It was a nice experience.

Yelp
My fiance and I checked in yesterday and were a bit early - we called around noon and arrived on property about 1pm. Aunty (Nelia) at the front desk was pretty brusque and stated the room wasn't ready but we could fill out the paperwork and check back at 2pm. No big deal, that's typical hotel stuff. Came back at 2pm and Aunty Roxy checked us in and gave us an upgrade to the 10th floor. Room 1003. She was so sweet and very friendly. The view was gorgeous and it even had a private balcony out front that overlooked the zoo and had a beautiful view of Diamond Head Crater. Unfortunately, the bed was a different experience. I recently had back and neck surgery so upon waking the next morning, I was definitely feeling that rough night's sleep. My fiance and I went about our day and I was having trouble walking (not uncommon for my really bad pain days, but at home we bought a $4500 mattress to combat this). My fiance decided to ask if we could possibly switch rooms to find a more comfortable bed since we'll be here like 8 days. Aunty Roxy was so understanding and said her husband had the same issues. She even let us look at two avaliable rooms and see which would work better for me!! We picked the room with the more comfortable bed, which was smaller than the initial room she gave us, but I am SO MUCH HAPPIER with the comfort level of the mattress. When we turned on the AC, the light came on saying it needed a filter change. We told Aunty and it was fixed before we even returned from dinner an hour later. This isn't a 5 star hotel by any means, but if you want something that feels like staying with your hanai family, this is it. We got a really good deal, it's super close to everything, and Aunty (I'll get her name today) is making this stay completely amazing for us! The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because of the "cleaning fee" we were charged at the time of check in that was not disclosed upon booking. It was a little steep and definitely a bit of a surprise. But Aunty Roxy is for sure the best part!!

Yelp
The good: loved having the kitchenette in our room (but not sure how to make sure you get this when you book -- we were shown another room that didn't have one). The location is super convenient as you're about a block from the beach and there is the availability of free parking on Monsarrat. You can pay for garage parking which is $27/day. Being on the far side of Waikiki also means that you have a beautiful view of Diamond head and the ocean from the top of the building. We could see Diamond head from our room, but we mostly saw the side of a building. You can do laundry The front desk staff is very kind and friendly The not so good: Poorly organized. I booked on booking.com and check in was a mess. The front desk told me that we are suppose to receive an email with a room number before check in since there are multiple property managers. I never received any additional contact from my booking and was emailed multiple confirmation emails from booking.com that made it appear that everything was in order. It took some extra time, but fortunately they were still able to give us a room-- although it appears that there could have been a circumstance where they wouldn't have had a room available. If you choose to stay here be careful about making your reservation through booking.com or contact them before hand to make sure everything is in order. Roxy was nice about trying to make sure we got a good room, but when we got to the room she assigned us it hadn't been cleaned. Roxy was super nice about it and offered us another room, but the second room was definitely inferior with two smaller beds (we were here as a couple) and no kitchen. Since we wanted the nicer room with a kitchen, she was nice about trying to help us get situated by running up and doing her best to turn over what she could-- but Roxy is not the cleaning staff and this was not a professional cleaning (not that we expected it to given that she was suppose to be running the front desk). They were also nice enough to send the cleaning staff in the morning after we checked in, but this is not hotel and there is not cleaning staff on call all hours of the day to help with something like this. We stayed in 619, which had a very nice kitchenette (two electric burners and a fridge) with granite countertops. There's also some basic kitchen supplies including plates, silverware, pot, pan, spatula etc. You need to buy the basic necessities for cooking such as salt, pepper, oil etc. The furniture and drapes are a bit old, but functional. The view is mostly the side of another tall skyscraper, but if you look out at an angle you can see diamond head. Summary: I would still stay here again, but I think it is important to be realistic about what you are getting when you book the Waikiki Grand Hotel. You're not checking into a hotel. You shouldn't expect things to be well-run like a resort. It also appears there's a pretty wide variation in the room that you're assigned. For me, the freedom of having a kitchen and a full fridge meant I didn't have to eat all my meals out. Having a kitchen and a spacious studio was definitely worth the extra hassle of check in and a partially cleaned room. I think the value for the price we paid makes this place worthwhile although I think I would feel differently if I didn't get a room with a kitchen.

Yelp
This place was perfect for us. Not the fanciest hotel, but it has a clean, bright lobby and kind employees, and the hallways were kept clean. The pool is quite disappointing, but who comes to Hawaii for the pool? The weekend we were here, there wasn't too much noise, and it was an INCREDIBLE location just off the main strip. I'd stay here again.

Yelp
The pictures they have posted are a lie. The picture you see with the view is only for the 10th floor deck. Lets start with the room I had reserved a king size bed, full kitchenet and ocean view. Well not only was it not a king size bed it was horrible to sleep on. We got a kitchenet to save money on food instead of eating out. Well there was a fridge and a microwave but the cooking area was a plug in hot plate in a drawer. And there was nothing to even cook it with. The ocean view was a set of bars and a sliding window that over looked the zoo not the ocean Every night there was a fight or yelling outside the window front midnight till 4 am. They had a tv with a roku that stopped working 4 days in. The ac in the room did not work right you would go from freezing to sweating during the night. I have pictures of what the actual room looks like and would love to share them. I thought maybe it was just me but another person checked in realized he was lied to flipped out and went some where else

Yelp
On contrary to recent reviews, I stayed here from October 17 to the 22nd in room 301. I find our condo unit is nicely furnished and newly remodeled. It has a balcony and everything is Tastefully decorated. Our unit has a small kitchenette with a single burner, microwave refrigerator, and everything you would need for a temporary stay. Soaps, detergents, shampoo, lotions etc are provided. Roxy, and Ray and rest of hotel staff were friendly and super helpful. Breathtaking views are on the 10th floor. Free Mai Tai for one as a bonus is also given and can be redeemed at onsite bar. They are upfront on their cleaning fee, so it's not as if it's a hidden charge, it's still reasonable. The location of the hotel is literally 2 minute walk to the beach, where its bustling with people. An ABC STORE, STARBUCKS are located 3 buildings down. Will stay here again

Yelp
This hotel is located close to Waikiki beach and Waikiki Zoo. The price is reasonable and the studio has all set equipment to snorkeling.

Yelp
Best part of this place is the views. Unfortunately for us, we were guests of the airbnb, not the hotel. Didn't think this would be a problem, but you need to realize that the two industries (the hotel and the airbnb) do NOT work together to make their guests feel the aloha spirit.

Yelp
Do not book through AirBnb at this place, especially "Violet" (don't let the cute stock photo fool you). Or Mark (also likely fake cute stock photo). Expect bait and switch, late room checkins, lack of responsiveness, and general apathy. We booked in June, paid a deposit in June and paid the balance in August ($1700) and we did not get the unit listed or confirmed. Check recent reviews for Violet (or some other new account she said she created - which is shady in and of itself - why the need for multiple accounts? The old account had no problem collecting our balance the week before our stay) and you will see similar experiences from recent stays. Also the 4.8 something review is likely skewed as cancelled reservations don't have the benefit of leaving a review. l suspect the hotel/condo has some arrangement to handle multiple rooms in the building because while they couldn't give us the room we booked, they were able to show us multiple units and offer additional units. It seems clear hosts have access to Castle Grand's inventory. It also looks like a timeshare so perhaps they bump reservations for owners and/or handle vacancies for them. We arrived at 10 am and had no clue what our unit number was (or the address). That's after four unanswered messages through the AirBnB app and a voicemail to a generic inbox. They even offered us a unit that literally a family in front of us was told they'd get (we were told they'd be bumped for us). Shady shady shady. Another host "Mark" had a listing that was available, so we booked it after an hour on the phone with AirBnb support and then he pulled a similar bait and switch (something about plumbing and moving someone else in to our unit - so other travelers had issues as well at this place, or so the story goes). When we insisted on our original unit, Mark offered a different unit and then cancelled on us when we said we needed to think about it. Meanwhile the unit was still available for booking on AirBnB's platform... Roxy at the front desk will tell what you want to hear and Jonathan will blame you for not being more diligent. They'll "upgrade" you (to non-upgrade worthy rooms) when all you want is what they advertised, what you paid for, and what they confirmed. Again, we arrived at 10 am and did not get our issues resolved until 8 pm (by staying elsewhere). Waste of a day (after traveling since dawn from the mainland). Then some guy named Ron who is supposedly the manager calls us at 8 pm minutes after we walked out with our luggage to ask us about our issues. We didn't book through the hotel so was why the hotel manager calling us and where was he for the whole 10 hours while we were trying to get our misleading hosts' issues resolved? Further support for our assumption Castle Grand Waikiki is involved in the shady AirBnb practices of various hosts. Save yourself a headache and look and book elsewhere. The only saving grace was AirBnb's customer support for problem checkins. We had to call twice and spent five hours of arrival day dealing with Castle Grand Waikiki hosts and their shady practices, but AirBnb support got us a suitable listing and gave us a significant credit that is consistent with AirBnB's service level. Can't say the same for Castle Waikiki Grand.

Yelp
Well let me start off by saying if i am glad I waited to write a review. We got off to a rocky start here. The 1st room we were assigned was wrong it didnt have a kitchenette. The second room the stove didnt work. I called down to the front Jesse was very nice he sent maintenance up right away. We had to move rooms again. The 3rd room was okay it had a very small refrigerator but I wasnt in the mood to switch rooms again. If it wasnt for the staff I would give this place a 2 star, but Jesse has been great. The rooms are all privately owned so none of them look the same you kinda just get what you get. The hotel has parking, a pool and laundry room which was great for us and is close to everything. Thank you to the staff for making us feel welcomed

Yelp
I just stayed at the Waikiki grand for the last 10 days. It was perfect and the staff were great. This "hotel" was more like apartments with everything you need to enjoy a home like stay right off a beautiful beach in Waikiki. Rooms had kitchens and they have boogie boards that you can borrow too. Our group occupied 16 rooms and they were all very different. Some were bigger, some smaller, some had great ocean views. They have an open lobby and a cool bar on the second floor with good drinks. There is also a burger place on the first floor which seems to be popular. There is an ABC store (convenience store) and Starbucks just on the corner which was very convenient. Rooms were clean, air worked well and they have a cute pool which I've spent lots of time at without anyone else really showing up. Roxy and Ron were amazing, they went above and beyond for our group and Tom helped coordinate many things for us as well. Happy to have spent time here and met these wonderful people! I would definitely come back here again.
