Wailea Beach Resort — Marriott, Maui

"Give us your first impressions. There’s almost no lobby here, at least not in the traditional sense. What first greets you at Maui's Wailea Beach Resort is a grand lanai that’s mostly outdoors—one with killer views of the Pacific Ocean. Check-in takes place to the left and, if you’ve arrived before your room is ready there’s a lounge where you can rest—and even shower. Or, just head down to one of the bars by the pool or grab a fresh juice. What's the backstory?Having undergone a $100 million renovation a few years ago, this Marriott now showcases modern furniture, beautiful artwork, and Hawaiian decor. We wouldn’t necessarily say that it has targeted millennial travelers with its hip new look, but it’s definitely not a corporate hotel-on-a-highway. How are the rooms? There are more than 500 rooms and suites, all with various perks. Some have garden views. Some have garden views plus oversized lanais. Some have ocean views from balconies; others have ocean views from the ground floor. The best type of room will depend on what you plan on doing during your stay. If you have children, try to book near the Nalu kids' pool. If you’d rather be active, go for a ground-floor room near the coastal path (and away from the pools). Is there a charge for WiFi?Wi-Fi is factored into the $38 daily resort fee, which also includes bike rentals, Mai Tais, SCUBA lessons, and a few other services. What's the food scene like? The Marriott is home to the only Starbucks in Wailea so people—however sheepishly—flock here just for that. However, the resort is also home to Humble Market Kitchen, a newish concept by Roy Yamaguchi, the famous chef behind Roy’s Restaurant chain. KAPA is one of the best-looking poolside cafes in the area, with tasty tacos and fun cocktails, and the Mo Bettah Food Truck serves poke bowls and shave ice. Don't miss the Te Au Moana ("The Ocean Tide") luau show—held on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. How was the service?Down-to-earth and friendly. Who's checking in here? The crowd consists of families, honeymooners, and older couples. But thanks to the meetings and convention services at the Marriott, you'll see business travelers, too. What about the neighborhood?Situated amid higher-end luxury resorts, the Marriott feels like a happy and unpretentious place to stay. Is it easy to get around?Like other resorts in Wailea, getting to the pool deck and beach requires an elevator or walking down lots of steps. Any other special features? The pools here all have their own scene. Kids can spend hours at the Nalu pool deck with its super-long water slide and toddler-friendly features; adults can escape to the Serenity pool. As for the beach, the Marriott section occupies a smaller sliver of sand compared to the other nearby resorts. A Mandara Spa, a kids' club, and a movie room round out the slate of amenities. The resort also has laundry machines for guests to use—a nice alternative to per-piece laundering service. What's the bottom line? This is practically a new resort with modern amenities and services—without that luxury price tag." - Juliana Shallcross

Beautiful property that caters to both families and adults. We went during peak season and there were a lot of families, but I never felt overwhelmed by crowds. The property is centrally located to Kihei where we ate most of our meals. The beach is a walk next door to the Grand Wailea. Be sure to go to the recreation desk beside the Whaler cafe to sign up for your beach chair daily. The desk opens at 8am, but a line forms before they open, as there are only 15 sets of chairs I believe. They will set up the beach chair for you as there is a great beach attendant, Kaleo (sp) who runs a tight ship with those chairs. ||We were upgraded to an ocean view 1 bedroom Villa with pull out couch and 1.5 baths which was great as my travel partner could have their own restroom (no shower in the 1/2 bath). The property is well kept and housekeeping was great. We did a couple of the fitness classes which are held outside facing the beach which was so nice. The Pilates class was in a shady spot, but the total body class was full sun so please prepare accordingly. ||Our return flight home was a red eye, and though we could not get late check out, they do have a nice departure lounge with showers so you can enjoy the resort until your departure. Overall a lovely stay and I would return.

My wife and I stayed at the Wailea Beach Resort throughout our entire honeymoon in Maui, and we can't wait to come back and stay here again during our next visit. The entire experience of the hotel is so well thought out, from the hotel check-in being open air and having stunning ocean views, pictures don't do it justice. The hotel offers so many cool activities, such as lei making, ukulele lessons, snorkeling, and daily movies in the movie theatre. The staff are all very accommodating to every request we had, as well as informative in case you needed any sort of recommendations on things to do around the island. The Wailea Beach Resort property as a whole is very expansive, so you never feel crowded or like people are on top of you, since there is so much room to spread out. The walking path is also very convenient for sightseeing, exercise, or just taking pictures of the beautiful sunsets in Maui. We attended the Luau, which was also tremendous. They provide you with a variety of local food options served family style, and the drinks are also out of this world. Since it was our honeymoon, it was very special that they called out those in attendance celebrating a honeymoon or wedding anniversary, so you could dance to a slow song with your significant other. Overall, I cannot recommend the Wailea Beach Resort enough, and we can't wait for the day we get to come back.

I recently stayed at this resort for my honeymoon for 8 nights. Overall we had a good experience so I think 4 stars is fair. The staff were nice, the room was spacious and clean, and the grounds are beautiful.||There were a few negatives that I wanted to point out for future guests considering the resort. First, when we arrived at our room we were disappointed to see that the view from our ocean front room was obstructed by a hallway that looked directly into our room. The only way to see the ocean from any place in the room was to stand since the bed and sofa both faced the hallway. We found ourselves keeping the curtains closed most of the time for privacy, which really defeated the purpose of paying extra for the ocean front room. Based on our research we anticipated a fully unobstructed view for the room type we booked. We did bring this up to the front desk but the resort was unfortunately fully booked for our stay and they couldn’t move us. While walking the grounds and looking at the other ocean front rooms, it seems like ours was the only obstructed room and it seemed unfair for our room to cost the same as the rooms with completely unobstructed views.||Second, there were multiple weddings and conferences that overlapped with our stay. This contributed to the hotel being at capacity but also meant that the adults only pool was very busy with groups of people chatting so it was pretty loud. Not a big deal for us but could be for others so wanted to mention it.||Lastly, they were aware that we were there for our honeymoon but besides saying congratulations at check in and check out they did nothing special for us. I completely understand that these extras aren’t guaranteed, but we’ve experienced small touches at other Marriott properties (even for birthdays or anniversaries), so it felt a little underwhelming given the occasion and the cost of the resort.

We’ve stayed at this resort twice, safe to say it’s our favorite place and now only resort we’ll stay when visiting Maui. The rooms are spacious, clean and depending on which suite you book, room will have a gorgeous view. We can confirm views from Hale 2 and Hale 4 are amazing. Several choices for pool options; family or adults only. Service at the pools and restaurants are quick and the servers are kind. Shout out to Geralyn. Valet is quick and share great recommendations. The property is within walking distance of shopping and restaurants in the area. Make sure to schedule time for the sunset and lounge on the lawn the watch.

Family of 6 with two, two queen garden view (Hale 4, one room had a partial ocean view, the other had an extended balcony) rooms for 5 nights each. Everything and everyone was perfect, the resort was beautiful, relaxing, and clean. Never a problem getting chairs for any of the pools, but do get to the tent early to reserve your chairs at the beach, you’re allowed two per room, 15 total per day. Kudos to Vantu at the front desk, I couldn’t have asked for a better check in experience.

The service at this Marriott is exceptional. They have accommodated to every need including providing extra utensils, bringing us a golf cart when I stepped on a sea urchin, and helping with our helicopter and yoga bookings. The yoga and Pilates classes as well as the lei making class are exceptional. The hotel and the rooms are also extremely beautiful and well maintained. Definitely recommend getting a partial water view with a view of the luau as well as checking out Whale’s Tale and the infinity pool and coconut yoga. Spots for both kids and adults.

Stayed: May 28-June 3 2025. It started with check in. We were told that the room that I reserved was not available. That they had over sold the room. This is a resort; staying for 7 days, 6 nights. How? My boys had to sleep on a sofa bed for the entire stay instead of a bed. Then the day before check out, I checked to confirm that I will get a late check. Front desk confirmed. On day of check out I received a call at ~ 1:30 pm to say that I will not get a 4 pm late check out and to please pack up and leave. I was floored! I reminded the manager that while I see that they are ensuring that the room is available for the people coming after me that we did not receive the same grace/urgency to ensure our room was available. Plus, 2 1/1 hours would not make that big of a difference and that we were headed to eat lunch prior to leaving. The manager, Frank, then called back to say we can stay till 4 pm. We returned to get out and l left my jewerly....Right....situation gets worse and worse. Due to time differences and jet lag, I didn't notice that it was missing till 3 days later. So when I reached out to the manager, Frank, he checked and said nothing had been turned in to security. I called security myself, and they confirmed that they had not received anything. The issue was escalated up and they asked for proof and I sent them pictures of my jewelry (hence I wore them on the trip). Marriott refused to pay my claim stating it was not in the lock and therefore claim denied. I said, but I was packing up, so it was taken out of the lock to get packed but it was a no go. As a loyal Marriott member and card user, I was extremely disappointed that they would not reimburse me. I had never put in a claim before. I say all this to say, I would not trust any jewelry there so please lock your stuff and put it up before you leave (don't have your valuable stolen, like I did). OR better yet, don't bring anything of value to the resort. This is not ever happened to me before, however this was definitely a lessoned learned. My jewelry was a Na Hoku slipper my husband brought me on our honeymoon 20 years ago, an angel wing my husband brought me when my dad died and a turtle (my favorite animal) my friend brought me for my birthday this year. Huh....I am still upset about it and Marriot's lack of empathy to fulfill my claim despite them interrupting my vacation with their bullcrap room issues. Otherwise, nice resort, good location, food good, waterslide great for kids and ocean great for snorkeling! Just beware of your jewelry!

A Beautiful Stay at the Marriott Wailea Beach Resort This hotel is absolutely gorgeous—from the rooms to the views, pools, and everything in between. The property is stunning, and every detail feels thoughtfully designed. Our room was very clean, clearly updated, and incredibly comfortable. The beds were especially noteworthy—so cozy and supportive, which can sometimes be hit-or-miss at other hotels. The staff was wonderful and accommodating in every interaction. They were friendly, professional, and always ready to help, which made the experience even more enjoyable. One area for improvement would be the hours of the on-site restaurants and bars. Most options seemed to close earlier than expected, leaving room service as the only late-night option. That said, the food and drinks were both delicious and well-prepared. Another concern was the parking situation. I wish parking were either included in the resort fee or at least offered at a lower rate. It feels a bit unfair, especially since there aren’t many alternative transportation options in the area. Additionally, the parking spaces themselves were extremely tight—it was almost impossible to comfortably get in or out of the car once parked. Pricing overall was on the higher end. While I understand that’s to be expected in Maui, some costs felt a bit steeper than anticipated. Still, despite a few minor drawbacks, I would absolutely return to this resort and wouldn’t hesitate to bring family or friends for an even longer stay. It was a wonderful experience, and I’m already looking forward to the next visit!

Yelp
This was one hell of a beautiful property, and I would come back and stay here in a heart beat. The moment we entered we just fell in love with the view and the facilities. The staff is welcoming and warm although it can't be said about all of them( ahem ahem- looking at you Pool staff ) most of them did genuinely feel very sweet and kind. The property as I had already mentioned is breathtaking- A sea view, world class amenities and very centrally located. Everything that I was looking for in a Resort was right here. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. There are plenty of restaurants on the property and nearby and also a Starbucks right on the premises . Also ,there was a Nespresso machine right in my room that I only discovered on my last day of the trip lol .We had quite a few cocktails and meals on the various restaurants on the property ,and I would categorize it average at best .Its the convenience of having things accessible without having to leave the resort that made us go back again and again. The Pools were the highlight for us ,including the ones with the slides . The sunset views from the Infinity pool were great. The hotel provides reef safe Sunscreen, water bottle fountains and pool towels. Some loungers can be reserved ahead of time because it does get very busy during the day .There is also a Spa area that seemed very luxurious but is not included in the part of the package. The wristbands that are used for access were very easy to use and stayed on even with all kinds of water activities. Parking is huge but late night arrivals can be tricky as only the smaller parking spaces are left free. Some jerks felt entitled to two parking spaces at once which made it all the more inconvenient. Overall it was a great stay, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a relaxed time in Maui.

Yelp
The only good thing about this hotel is it is next to the shops of wailea makes it convenient to walk to the grocery store and island vintage or other eateries. The reason why I wouldn't recommend is because while I was in my room, teenagers came and kicked my door and was able to open it. I called front desk immediately and all they said was sorry and offered security to come up to report but by then the teens left. I went outside the room and 3 of them were trying to hide and the ocean look out pretending that their door was kicked too but I was and the end and all the rooms where they were hiding were closed due to construction. Would NOT recommend staying here!!!

Yelp
I'm not a typical Maui resort person (prefer Air BnB), but staying here with a toddler made me reconsider. The best POG juice at check in, and they gave my son (all kids) a stuffed turtle! Location: In the heart of Wailea, walking distance to the beaches and shopping mall. Great coastal walking/running trail. The grounds were very well kept. Hotel Room: The ocean view (overlooking the serenity pool) was worth it. Spacious enough with 1 toddler. Lanai space was perfect with a table and couch. Complimentary Nespresso coffee and reusable aluminum water bottles. Amenities: Great variety of swimming pools for all ages. Loved the adventure poor with the huge and fast water slide. My toddler loved the arcade room: free arcade games, skeeball, billiards, foosball, board game lounge. The gym was large and loved my late night sessions, (too busy in the AM). Sunscreen, water bottle fountains and pool towels all included. Lots of daily activities, hang out spaces and a movie theater too. Food: Large convenience store, a full service Starbucks, pizza food stand, two average pricey resort restaurants. Staff: All we encountered were super courteous and accommodating. We didn't need daily room service cleaning, but housekeeping would always offer fresh towels and coffee refills passing by in the hallway. Negatives: Room shower design and towel racks need improvement. Mini fridge is way too small for a family. Rented an EV, but $59 valet service (vs self parking resort charge) was needed to even consider charging; I charged for free off resort. Parking garage is in the daily resort fee, but the self park spots are TIGHT; the upper level in the sun is barely more spacious. The resort kid's club was closed.

Yelp
The last time I was in Maui I was didn't have children and we had the most glorious week at the Four Seasons. Years later we were back with 3 kids in tow and thought the Wailea Beach Resort would be a better fit for both kids and the budget. The good: - one of the nicest Marriott properties I've been to. The resort was absolutely beautiful and there were plenty of activities (especially over the holidays) to keep the kids busy. They made their way from the kids water park to the kids pool to the beach etc - the location is amazing. It's a 3 min walk from the wailea shops, a 10 min walk from the Wailea Tennis Club (which makes up for having courts at the resort) and also steps away from many great restaurants. We rented a car for our stay, but said after that we could have done without one - Starbucks on site is a big pro for someone who needs my morning fill of Starbucks, especially when dealing with a time change from Chicago - The adult pool was absolutely lovely and relaxing and the service was on point. My daughter mentioned she got the same stellar service at the kids pool and they even know what drink she liked (clearly had too many virgin pina coladas ;)). - while it was crowded for the holidays, I never had trouble finding a pool chair no matter the time of day - their activity website is super helpful to book your own activities before arriving and the concierge helped a lot once we were there as well. Thanks to recommendations we enjoyed a waterfall hike, snorkel adventure and paddleboarding class. Fair: - rooms are a little older. Our suite was spacious (although probably a little tight for our party of 5). The bathroom was especially disappointing and could have used a nicer walk in shower - the beach is a little bit of a walk and think we open have used it more if it was closer to the pools. - the food wasn't anything special at any of the restaurants. The breakfast buffet at humble market was fine and Kapa grill was also just fine, but for better food I recommend leaving the resort. Overall, it was a great stay in Maui and all 5 members of our party enjoyed the resort. There are so many great resorts in Maui, but this is a good family friendly option!

Yelp
I think the real number is 3.5 After all the build up, I was not that impressed. The good. Location, staff, amenities. The staff has been great. Outgoing helpful and on the mark. Obviously the location is great, the views are stunning. The ok I think the resort could use a better selection of food/drink options. There is really only 1-2 food options if you are enjoying the resort. And there is really no nightlife here. I don't mind, as I like to go local and take in the surrounding areas. Personally I think the rooms are only ok as well. Weird thing here the rooms are quite good with no sound from other rooms, above, below or sides. Where they are terrible is from the door. You can literally hear everything happening outside your door and I would assume they can hear what's happening inside the door. We literally hear multiple conversations everyday just as people are walking by. The rooms could be a little better or updated maybe. Ours is starting to show its age with cabinets and drawers that don't shut right etc.

Yelp
The convenience of this hotel is unmatched, it's next door to the shops of Wailea! I love being walking distance to the shops and being around all the best restaurants and food. The property is beautiful, clean, and the staff is genuinely so kind. Also we love their valet system, you basically text the valet for your car and it will be ready for you as you walk down from your room, easy peasy!! When you arrive you'll get "lei'ed", welcome Drinks and chocolate, such a wholesome experience! We love staying here and can't wait to come back! Did i mention they have a pizza truck in their lobby for late night munchies?

Yelp
This was my first time staying here since their remodel about 9 years ago. They took great care of me and I really had top notch service. From the front desk staff to the housekeepers to the restaurants and pools, everyone was friendly and helpful. I was in a nice oceanfront room in Hale 7. Finding your way was a bit tricky on your own but once I knew where to go, it was easy. On my 2nd to last day, my AC in my rooms started making a terrible grinding noise. Engineering came to take a look and unfortunately could not fix it immediately so they had to find me a new room. They did this quickly and the bell staff moved my luggage to my new room while I was out at dinner. They checked me into the new room quickly. It ended up having a nicer oceanfront view. I ate at all the restaurants, except the food truck. All had excellent food and drink. Loved Whale's Tale and the pizza stand. Starbucks was great too. Pool drinks were pricy but tasty. The property has all you could want. Several pools, including an adults only pool and kids area with water slides. A gym and free exercise classes and I always love the walking path all the waterfront. Definitely a very expensive hotel but I thoroughly enjoyed myself so it was worth the cost.

Yelp
This resort is the biggest that I have ever seen in my life! The buildings on this property just goes on and on! We came for the amazing sunset view beach backdrop Te Au Moana Luau, and we had to walk like 10 minutes to get from the parking structure to the luau location. And just the walk through this resort was unbelievable! Set right on the edge of the ocean with a black rock shoreline all around. The pools, tubed water slides, cabanas, and 360 view wicker seats stationed at the edge along the beach walkway, were luxurious to the max! I would absolutely love to stay here one day...even if just for one day. I heard that one night in a standard room is $1,200 and for a two-level villa it's $10k! I would say totally worth it!

Yelp
Absolutely love this resort, 3rd year in a row coming here. We even had our wedding here and invited 50 of our closest friends and family to join us. We had some people who weren't a big fan of traveling to Hawaii turn around and extend their stay and are asking to come back with us NEXT year. We toured a lot of venues and this place won hands down. The staff is always so friendly, we know many by name now and they go out of their way to always make your day better if they can. The open air resort feels is so refreshing, and being lit steps from the ocean just cannot be beat.

Yelp
Visited Nov 2023. Right by the beach, beautiful views, the restaurant humble market kitchin was perfect for dinner, Whales tale is perfect for a light breakfast after walking along the beach, and KAPA is great for getting some appetizers to eat while you lounge at the pool. Service was excellent, arrived at the hotel pretty late the first night and staff greeted us so kindly and with a delicious beverage and some reusable water bottles.

Yelp
Came here for a luau. what I saw of the resort, it was pretty sweet, clearly a high quality resort with tons of amenities. The luau itself was okay. There was a ton of food, open bar, and beautiful views. The food quality was a solid 7/10 in general . The show, also a 7/10. The dances weren't terribly interesting (except the fire knife dance) I'd probably not do it again , but it was good to do once

Yelp
Overall, this is a great family resort that has a little something for everyone. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. They have many pools but we only get to enjoyed the kids pool. The kids pool has 2 large slides and 2 small slides for the younger kids. It's right next to Mo'bettah food truck. They also have a bar but it doesn't open till 11 am for drinks and food, which was quite a miss in my opinion. And they stop serving food around 4pm. The kids pool is not too far of a walk to the Wailea beach. If you want beach chairs and umbrella, you have to get to the activity stand to get your name on the list as early as possible because they only have limited no of chairs and umbrellas - first come first serve and you'll get on waitl list if they run out. Look for someone by the blue umbrellas when you get to the beach. They'll help you set up. No drink or food service the beach. You can rent boogie boards, kayaks, etc there. We rented a bogie board for $32/day but must be returned by 2.45pm. You have to go back to the resort to get any food or drinks. The closest one is next to activity stand. BUT, I had a really off and rude experience. The second day we were day, this lady asked me for an ID when I ordered Pina Colada. Of course I didn't my ID on me when I'm at a resort so I showed her a picture of my ID. She gave me a hard time and said that she needs to see a REAL PHYSICAL ID! She then said she'll make an exception for me but I have to consume my drink at the stand and can't bring it out! I was like WTH?!? I didn't get any trouble or what so ever when ordering my drink the day before. There's a Starbucks on property that opens 645am-630pm. A nice place to get inexpensive breakfast because an Açaí Bowl will run you $18 at the stand. There's a huge game room across from Starbucks which opens 7am-10pm. It's a complete game room with skee balls, arcade, and shuffle board. Our room is very well appointed. We have one of the junior suite overlooking the ocean with a nice balcony with lounge chairs and sofa. Perfect place to watch the sunset (around 630pm). The staffs are great and very friendly. They gave us a nice chocolate and birthday card for my son when we got to our room.

Yelp
We had an excellent stay at Wailea Beach Resort a couple of months ago, and it exceeded all expectations. The resort's great location and top-notch amenities like Olakino made for a memorable experience. The highlight, however, was the warm and friendly service provided by Terrence at the front desk. His welcoming demeanor and attentiveness truly stood out, enhancing our overall stay. During our stay at Wailea Beach Resort, not only were we captivated by the relaxing ambiance and Terrence's exceptional service, but we also had the incredible opportunity of witnessing numerous whales right from the resort. The breathtaking spectacle of these majestic creatures added an extra layer of magic to our experience. With such a perfect blend of hospitality and natural wonders, we eagerly anticipate our next visit to the resort. It truly offers an unforgettable retreat. Highly recommended for those seeking relaxation & exceptional hospitality.

Yelp
The resort was amazing in terms of the service, decor, the food and amenities, including three pools to choose from. Plus, we had an awesome beach view. Perfect 10. We had no issues with staff at all. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and professional. The food was terrific. The breakfast buffet, in-room dining and two restaurants at the hotel were all delicious. The resort features modern decor and amenities. We sat in the luxurious, ocean view pavilion and looked out at the ocean some days and people watched in the koi pond garden area nearby as well. So relaxing. Our room was clean, comfortable and the view of the infinity pool with the ocean just beyond it was spectacular. Overall, a great experience. We will definitely stay here again.

Yelp
I truly loved this hotel. It was almost disappointing that we started our honeymoon here simply for the fact that our second hotel was being compared to this one and it didn't live up to the high standard that the Wailea Beach Resort set. From the moment you came down the twinkle-light adorned drive until the moment you left, just being on property you felt welcomed and relaxed. Everything you'd hope for on a vacation. We loved the location and convenience of this hotel. We were easily able to walk to get coffee and breakfast if we wanted. It was rather close to Kihei, and there was so many great restaurant options close by. Upon check in, as my husband is a platinum elite member they gave us a welcome beverage and a fresh flower lei for me and a kukui nut lei for my husband. They also had a new flavor of chocolate you could get each day from the front desk. The beds were comfortable and the room was large and nice and clean. We were even next to the ice machine, and it was still quiet (and I'm a light sleeper). My only suggestion would be to bring your own body wash/shampoo and conditioner. We didn't feel like the soap was at all good at removing the sunscreen from the day after being outside. They have multiple pools on the property, and it was so nice to not have to fight for a spot by the pool at any time. They also have towel stands near each of the pools and you could get as many as you needed. The staff also came by quite a bit to check if you wanted to order any pool side offerings. I loved their virgin lava flows, as well as the hula girl. We also ordered nachos by the pool, and they were excellent! I also loved that at 2:40 every day they brought by a different kind of ice cream for everyone at the pool. We also got a couples massage while there, and it was excellent and so relaxing. If I come back to Maui. I want to stay here.

Yelp
This was our first time to Maui since the fire, and our first time in Wailea - we have always stayed up in Napili before - and we were very impressed with South Maui. The location was perfect for sunsets, turtles, and whale watching, and our room (Hale 7) had a wonderful view of the sunset and Molokini. The shoreline path was a relaxing and scenic walk. The resort was expensive, as noted by others, but mostly worth it. Ironically, the resort food wasn't our favorite and it was way overpriced, which is probably true for all the local resorts. The nearby town of Kihei was a delightful relief, especially the Kihei Caffe for breakfast and the extensive food trucks in South Maui Gardens for dinner. The grounds are kept immaculate, the only exception being the complimentary bicycles, which were in such poor condition (e.g. no rear breaks on one, flat tire on another, and seats that wouldn't adjust) that we bailed on the idea of using them. They need to invest in new bicycles. The staff were very friendly, with a special shout out to Tammy the Concierge, who gave us wonderful suggestions from a local viewpoint. The multiple pools offered something for everyone, from quiet adults only to exhilarating water slides. All in all, a wonderful oasis.

Yelp
The food was solid, not mind-blowing but not bad either. The Poké bowl was decent, but could've used a bit more flavor. The drinks, though? Strong and tasty. And let's talk about those views--wow! The volcano scenery and natural beauty are simply stunning. The pools are awesome, not too packed either. Rooms are comfy, with balconies to chill and maybe get some work done. I'd totally come back, especially since it's great for families.

Yelp
This resort is definitely a luxury hotel as you drive in through the lush landscaping and into paradise. You can either self park or valet your car. The valet also offers the complimentary service to drive guests to their building/suite with 7 Hale's and an additional tower. They will also walk you to your suite with your luggage immediately, nice touch! When you are checking in each guest is greeted with a lei and POG (pineapple, orange, and guava juice). Check in is at 4pm but if you call a few days advance to ask for an earlier check-in, they may be able to accommodate you. I was able to do so with my visit in early February. They have an adults only pool which I loved, as I was able to unwind and fall asleep in one of their super soft chaise lounge chairs. We stayed in Hale 6 with an ocean view from our lanai, where you can fall asleep listening to the waves crashing. I was also able to see the sunset from my room. Try to ask for room 6303 if you want this, totally worth it! I called the service line and asked for slippers and they showed up in less than 5 minutes. So many complimentary items from internet, Mai Tai's, beach chairs and umbrellas, bicycles, sunscreen to scuba lessons. If you want to be truly spoiled, this is the place to be in Maui.

Yelp
What a beautiful hotel! It literally has everything you need near by to enjoy Maui. Beach trail, game room, slides, pools, Starbucks, a near by shopping center and great activities to sign up for, to learn more about the Hawaiian culture. My kids fell in love with Ms. Lydra and everything she taught us. It was so hard to leave.

Yelp
One word to describe this resort would be paradise. Walking distance from the mall if that intrigues you, but really there is no need to leave the property. The food options and bars spread across the resort make it quick and easy to grab a meal. The staff are SUPER helpful despite some of the other reviews stating otherwise. My room was always clean and taken care of during my stay. Unfortunately one day the weather resulted in most of the pools and amenities being shut down but in general the experience i had at the Wailea Beach Resort was stunning.

Yelp
We had a great experience staying here for our friends' wedding. The room was very clean and we had a beautiful ocean view very close to the adult pool. There is a Starbucks on location, which I loved. The convenience store had everything you could possibly need and there were vendors who would set up tables and sell really pretty locally made art, jewelry, home goods, etc. so it's easy to grab a great souvenir! We were greeted with leis and drinks, which was very cool! Oh and I have to say, don't miss the water slides. Even if you don't have kids, hit the water slides. There are 2 really good water slides and they are SO fun. My husband and I ventured over to the kid pool specifically to go down the slides and we thankfully got there at a time of day when no one else was there so we went down the slides a feels times in a row and had a blast! (There's also a smaller one for the tiny kidos)

Yelp
I am in the hospitality business and this property had incredibly poor customer service, communication, ability to assist in just about everything. Don't stay here! (except Guy- the only real person that seems to be interested in assisting) it's pretty shocking considering the price point - disappointing

Yelp
The location is excellent, with great views of the ocean and close proximity to the Wailea oceanfront walking trail. We paid top dollar for a first-floor oceanfront room; but, for the price, I honestly don't think it was worth it. The room smelled musty (maybe this is common, given the high humidity in the area), but it caught me by surprise. We inquired about a room change but would have had to wait until later in the evening (and we were tired from a long day of travel), so we decided to stay put. Surprisingly, the room wasn't serviced after the first day, which we didn't discover until we returned to the resort close to bedtime. At that point, we weren't interested in having the room serviced; but we did ask for clean towels which were delivered promptly. We ate breakfast (once) and dinner (once) at the Humble Market Kitchen. And we ate lunch (once) and had happy hour (once) at the Kapa Bar & Grill. All the meals were fine and the mai tais were very good, but we preferred--and would highly recommend--eating off-property at the many excellent restaurants in Wailea.

Yelp
Pros: this place is gorgeous! The staff were so friendly and helpful and the property is walking distance from the beach and shopping. They have several beautiful pools along with a game room for the family/kiddos. They also offer a range of activities on the property from Pilates to yoga and movies. Con's: a bit pricey even considering all that's included. We had a room with pull out couch. My son wasn't too comfy on it but we made it work. Also there was some mold at the top of the shower. Other than that it was a great stay.

Yelp
Fantastic resort! Great pools (4), one of which you need a reservation which is totally unnecessary. Fantastic service provided by all. Excellent bartenders at restaurant (Shout out to Erik and Cody). Fantastic infinity pool and also the family pool too with super fun water slides even for adults. Another special shoutout to Larry the lifeguard who was a super "scout in action"...new family secret that provides me with a story to tell. LOZl! Definitely recommend this property for a visit. Check out the pictures and you'll see why.

Yelp
Second time to this property this year. The first trip we were assigned a room directly over the valet parking arrival area. Noisy all hours. Just wait for the folks who go to Haleakala and leave at four in the morning. You will know they're there. After complaints, the resort did move our room. The second trip we had roaches in the room and when asked at the front desk, we were told "well it's the tropics" they offered to spray the room, but they could not move us. My wife had lived in Hawaii for 20 years and never had roaches like this. Check out process was a mess and the hotel used the wrong card. Now I had to find a solution. Better properties for the money all over Maui.

Yelp
Upon recommendation from a friend, I splurged on 5 nights at Wailea Beach Resort during a recent stay in Maui and would absolutely recommend doing the same to others. The resort is gigantic and beautiful and it's walking distance to the Shops at Wailea. I was greeted with juice at check-in and was delighted to be upgraded to an Oasis room with a private terrace. The lovely gal who checked me in at reception really went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. There are several lovely pools on property; I spent most of my time at an adult infinity pool overlooking the ocean but I did treat myself to the Olakino pool experience one day - it was too pricy to justify more than once but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I actually hardly left the resort at all except to go out to eat and to visit the Shops at Wailea. I am a picky eater and was not super big on any of the menus of the restaurants on property, but I did enjoy the breakfast buffet at Humble Kitchin. There is also a highly rated luau on property (Te Au Moana luau), though you need to buy tickets in advance. They did a really nice job making sure I had vegetarian options at the luau, where the food is generally served family-style. I could go on and on about my time at Wailea Beach Resort, but I'll end this review now with a 10/10 recommendation :)

Yelp
We had an incredible time here back in November. We wanted to support Maui after the fires and celebrate several special occasions so we brought our family of six and got 2 ocean view rooms with sun decks. These particular rooms are on the ground floor and have a view of the ocean about 50 feet away. The beach path along the shoreline is right there so it's not very private but we didn't care. The most impressive thing at this resort is the view. It's worth the price.. Next,, is the staff. They were so awesome and helpful. Every day we felt blessed to be there and to see the ocean every morning and watch the sun set every night. The hotel facilities are perfect for kids with pools waterslides and an awesome beach right down the path about 100 yards away from most rooms. We didn't try any of the upscale restaurants because of kids and the activities we had planned but the walk up at the whales tale cafe and Starbucks, were busy and hotel prices but good and fresh. The on-site Te Au Moana Luau was awesome. I highly recommend it. You can't beat the service, food, drinks, the performances, and the breathtaking view of the ocean and sunset. Everyone there gave it 100 percent the entire 2+ hours we were there. We got room service one night after everything closed and the staff brought our dinner out to the sundeck with LED candles and extras. We talked with them for a bit about the tragedy that Maul is going through and it really felt like we were so wanted there, and appreciated. We had excellent seafood and salads, etc. Also a special shout out to the valet guys who helped us transport the family ( which included 2 seniors with mobility issues) from the front entrance to their rooms (and back on request) with golf carts. They helped our gear and special accommodations every day. Great team. Heres where the -1 star happens. It was 85 almost every day and humid, and the AC was necessary even on Maui. On day 3 out of 7 we returned to our room after the beach and whatnot at 5 or so and the AC wouldn't stay on. We called facilities and they were there in 10 minutes to fix it. It ran fine for a day and then on day 5 we woke up to a 6 foot puddle of water in the middle of the tile floor in the front room and no AC. We put towels down and called again. They came back quick and drained and fixed it. The AC ran fine until that night when it dropped more water. Finally that night the facility guys were able to fix it and it ran fine with no waterfalls for the following 48 hours of the trip. They explained that the units were old and the drain lines had frozen because of outdated technology and poor maintenance over the years. This was our only complaint of the trip. Marriott owns some of the most beautiful real estate in Hawaii. They have some of the best housekeeping, valet, front desk,, beach, pool, and facilities staff I've ever seen at any hotel. Marriott needs to spend some damn money on updating the facilities so we don't need to hang out with their staff so much. They have plenty of work to do without dealing with outdated rooms. The landscapers keep the the place looking pristine too. It's just accountants and the Executives at Marriott that were so annoying and we never even met them. We would love to go back for the location and hospitality but the facilities need updating bad.

Yelp
Stayed 2 nights at this place. Compare to the neighboring andaz , four seasons or grand Wailea, this property is cheaper out of all. So naturally thought the rooms and hotel grounds are a little out dated. What was nice were several attention to details felt they exceeded our expectations 1. Front desk check in was nice with greeting of drinks and a plush for the kiddo 2. Refillable water bottle and water stations around the property was a nice touch 3. Giant water slide was fun 4. Pool area service was attentive. Hats off to Noah 5. Kapa grill within the property was surprisingly tasty. 6. Nice location between 2 beaches. Nice sunset view 7. Close to major shopping centers. Wailea seemingly less busy than Lahaina area Cons 1. Rooms a bit old 2. Construction around the property ground 3. Beaches quite crowded with little shade 4. Geckos, roach sighting. Though this is common around Maui Overall had a nice time with the family.

Yelp
Yelp fam! Can you say Hawaii Honeymoon?! My wife and I ended our honeymoon in Hawaii @ the Wailea Beach Resort! What a beautiful resort & a gorgeous island. Upon arrival, we received leis & welcome drinks. We had to wait about 45 minutes for our room to be ready, we were given free mai tai drink coupons. We checked out the bar & got some lunch while we waited. The service was great and fast. We also came away with some recommendations on the island. We received our wristband that doubled as room keys which I loved. Our room was great with outdoor seating and an amazing view. I even caught a rainbow one morning while listening to music. The pool was steps away from the room. The gift shop & shipping center employees were very nice and super helpful. Along with the restaurant staff that made our stay special with Bubbles, complimentary drinks & some great recommendations on the menu. The Luau on Thanksgiving was amazing & so was the open bar!!! I had a bunch of great food and cocktails. Truly a great experience getting a taste of Hawaiian culture. The location is great, you are pretty close to everything. We explored the island a bit and never had an issue. Overall I had a great experience at this resort, a truly unforgettable time in paradise.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our family vacation at this resort. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the friendly valet staff who made sure our luggage was taken care of. Then while checking in we were greeted with fresh flower leis and tropical drinks. They also gave us 2 free mai tai coupons to use later on. What a warm welcome. Throughout our stay the staff was amazing, attentive and friendly. We felt right at home. This resort is beautiful, has a great location, it's very clean and someone is always wiping or cleaning every where you turn. The adult infinity pool was breathtaking, overlooking the ocean...I couldn't stay away or stop taking videos of it. And watching the sunset while in the pool is magical. The kids pool area and the slides were very fun for my son. He loved spending time in that area. It was so close to our room. Very convenient. The beach area is a 10 minute walk from the lobby, they have beach chairs but very limited. You have to go early in the morning to find a spot. The water is heavenly, warm and mostly calm anytime of the day. We swam for days and even on some evening hours. The spacious lobby of this resort is also lovely. I loved walking around and taking short breaks on the rocking chairs and the swings. So relaxing and fun. Starbucks was right there near the swings. Even though I'm not a big Starbucks fan I got drinks twice to enjoy while on the rocking chairs. Next to the resort (a 5 minute walk) there is a shopping center with stores, restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream shop and an island market that we absolutely loved. We would get ready made foods such as sandwiches and bowls before our road trips. The only thing that I wish the resort had was better food and restaurants. After the second day we were looking for places to eat in the area. The options are very minimal and the prices are very high for the small portioned meals. Overall I highly recommend this resort if you are considering to stay here. You won't be disappointed I will definitely stay here again if I come back to Maui....

Yelp
This property is beautiful. Our room was really nice, housekeeping was great. The check in process easy and we used almost all points to stay here. very pricey but thought it was worth it until... The food. We ordered room service and they got it all wrong. We asked for NO dairy (vegan) and we were served cheese, ranch dressing buttered bread and they were clueless. We had food credit and we were only allowed to eat at one restaurant. They served us chips cooked with shrimp, a bun with egg in it. If you have serious allergies, BE CAREFUL!!! Customer service when excellent. The mall is walking distance next door. There is a shuttle to go near by which is great if you do not have a car. If the food was not a disaster, it would have been 5 stars. The property is set with breathtaking views. Pretty beach walk. Great sunsets. Easy to request an Uber and get to everything near by. Great place for a family. nice game room, movie theater, pools, slides. We enjoyed this hotel, just the food was limiting and the staff had no knowledge of how to make meals vegan!

Yelp
The resort is beautiful, location is excellent. Very clean everywhere; at any given time it is visible someone somewhere is cleaning, dusting, scrubbing parts of the resort. The adult pool is just breathtaking and Brad is friendly. Thank you to Caitlyn Hughes as well! Breakfast wasn't all that great compared to other hotels of this level, we were only given a voucher for coffee, 1 danish and 1 fruit cup. No hot meal for Ambassador Elites. Ethel at Whale Tail saved breakfast coz she was nice and friendly. Korean chicken wings at Kapa and their salads need some flavor but Maybelle showed cheerful service. Also in my opinion Kapa needs a better-sounding guitarist + singer. The kiddie slides were great, our sundeck with front view of the Maui sunset and adult infinity pool was hard to leave. Amenities, gym, spa, game room are tops! I recommend highly, just wish food is better when we return.

Yelp
What a magical stay....... We checked in for our 5 night stay and we're upgraded to a beautiful oversized lanai room, with direct beach access and the most beautiful views ever. On top of that, we got lei's and drink coupons for Mai Tai's that were awesome. Our first night we also got a knock on the door and they sent Champaign and macaroons to our room. Every person we encounter there's was so friendly. The bead was so comfy we didn't want to get out of it... luckily with the ocean just outside, we found the motivation. I highly recommend this hotel. They will make your stay unforgettable!

Yelp
This place was magical. Watching whales breach the water while I sat at the bar was such a great experience. The staff is nice and easy to talk to.

This property is the perfect family spot in Wailea. Geralyn was our server at the kids pool and she couldn't have been more lovely & friendly, incredible customer service!

Yelp
I spent the day at Olakino Wellness Experience and it did not disappoint. I was welcomed by Yulia and was brought to my chair for the day. The view is spectacular. The second I was seated they greeted me with ice cold water and a fresh pressed juice shooter. Along the day they brought out a honey tasting, acai bowls, ahi tostada, cooling masks, a 5-minute massage, live singer and ended the day with a champaign toast with a beautiful song to thank us. The servers go by Pool Ambassadors and I see why. They really are amazing at what they do. Top notch service, everything was seamless. Thank you Yulia, Dana and Kalvyn for making my day so relaxing. I will be back and will be recommending Olakino to everyone I know.

Yelp
We called 2 weeks before we arrive for our honeymoon. "Is there any construction going on at the property?" -- hotel: a very quick "No". Fast forward 2 weeks, and to our surprise, there is a massive construction zone right in the front of the property. First room, overlooks a loading dock. Second room has a huge 8ft tall construction wall, and legit bulldozer outside of the patio. You couldn't make this up if you tried... it would be comical if I didn't save 600K points for this once in a lifetime experience. To make it even worse - they tried to swindle an additional **$900 a night** (on top of 100K/night in points) when I refused the room with construction outside the door. It almost felt criminal asking for $900+100K in points a night, to not have construction or a loading dock outside my window on a honeymoon. I never felt more deceived in the 20+ years I've been staying at Marriott. Never felt more taken advantage of. Immediately left and will NEVER return or recommend this property to anyone. I seriously question why I continue to have any loyalty as a Titanium Elite member after this experience.

Lia S.

Yelp
I can't believe I'm saying this but I can't wait to leave Hawaii and go back home. Booking this resort for our honeymoon was the biggest mistake ever. If you pay for a premium ocean view room you are in the last building which is so far from the main area, most of the time we didn't even want to go anywhere just to avoid the walk. Our room (which again is a premium ocean view room) is right by the luau, every single day after the event our room smells like smoke for hours to the point where we wake up from our nap bc of the smell. The AC in our room didn't work for the first few days until someone came and instead of fixing it just lowered the temperature, which is ok, better than no ac at all. My husband left a pack of cigarettes and a lighter on the balcony and we came back to note saying we are going to get a $250 fine just because they assumed he smoked in the room which doesn't make any sense, just because it's in the room doesn't mean he smoked inside. Food and drinks are ok, nothing special, service is ok too. Overall, wouldn't recommend this place especially for young couples/ honeymooners. Can't wait to check out tomorrow and go sleep without smoke in my room and a with a working AC.

Yelp
Planning a trip to Maui or staycation? This hotel offers you an opportunity to stay at a nice hotel that will offer a solid and memorable vacation experience in paradise. Starting from check-in at the open air desk, you know you're somewhere special. You will get lei'd at upon check in. And be offered complimentary mai tais. The rooms are spacious, quiet and comfortable. We especially enjoyed a restless night sleep after our flight in. The bathroom in our room was large with a very nice shower. The room was exceptionally clean. Just what we needed after working a full week before arriving to Hawaii for a wedding. There are a number of on site pools and places to catch sunset. The pools have chairs and cabanas can be rented. There is a busy walking path between the Marriott and the Grand Wailea. You really can have it all here. The hotel boasts plenty of on site restaurants from Starbucks to upscale dining. There is a wonderful outdoor shopping plaza just across the way. We ate there most of our meals and bought our gifts for family. It was so easy to be carless on our most recent trip because of this. The hotel is Maui priced but very reasonable compared to other similar properties we looked at. I highly recommend this property for singles without children. It's an easy vacation property without all the absurdity and noise of some others.

Yelp
A well known saying says that if we were meant to stay in one place, we would have roots rather than feet. This resort was wonderful to call home and stay rooted for our week long vacation and my birthday celebration spot. Service is attentive and stellar. Even with issues, management was responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend upgrading to the premium ocean view rooms with sun deck. We loved the Hale 4 building because it's centrally located in the property to the amenities and steps from the ocean. If you are looking for more adult friendly, this area is perfectly situated near the Serenity Pool aka Infinity Pool, Mandara Spa, Fitness Center, and the Starbucks. In addition, if you are staying on this side of the island, I love its central location in the resort corridor to other shopping centers and restaurants. Also it is only 10 minutes from Kihei and about 35 minutes from the airport. That means you're closer to Maui Brewing Company and its goodness without missing your flight!!! During this state mandate, they were awesome in enforcing masks and proof of vaccinations. Make sure you make reservations or work with concierge or guest experience Terence to ensure you have the most enjoyable vacation.

Yelp
Our stay here was amazing! Everything about this resort is top notch! I had an ocean front room and it was so so worth it! I love that there are water slides on site, as well as more quiet and serene pools for the adults!!! Our room overlooked Wailea Beach and it was so great! This resort has many amazing amenities, such as daily activities on the property such as yoga and lei making! They have little ukuleles to use up in the front as you check in and they have cute little tree swings in the front of the property as well. I had lunch at the Kapa Bar and Grill and it was very tasty! I was able to use my free coupon for mai tais there! My room was close to a laundry facility on the property making it very easy to throw in a quick load, though make sure you have lots of quarters for the machines. I did morning yoga on property one morning overlooking the ocean and it was amazing!! I also had breakfast at Whalers several mornings since I could walk to it easily from my room and their French toast and breakfast panini were amazing! All the staff including the people at the valet and room service delivery and at the pools were super friendly and we definitely felt right at home! I'm just going to default to this resort when I come back to Maui which will be very soon!

Yelp
The beautiful site of the Pacific Ocean greets you as soon as you arrive . You are surrounded by beauty ! This is the perfect place to view the sunrise or sunset and have a drink and appetizers or dinner . They have a small deli/gift shop that opens at 8:00 am . It has all the beach essentials plus snacks (pre made sandwiches and salads and cookies ,) They also sell postcards for 30 cents ( such a good deal ) and stamps . The staff was friendly and helpful .

Yelp
Perfect resort in Maui for the whole family to enjoy. They have very accommodating staff, and good food. Nestled within the private beach in Wailea, it's perfect if you're looking for a quiet, and relaxing vacation. There are so many activities offered by the resort, that you don't even have to leave Wailea to enjoy. The kids loved the adventure pool and the game room. Wailea shops and Island Gourmet Market is only a quick walk away. We would definitely return!

Kate W.

Yelp
Beyond 5 stars! The staff is incredibly accommodating and genuinely kind. We have had the nicest stay with our family and can't say enough about the amenities and experience. Scuba, snorkeling, shopping, off-site tennis and golf. Best vacation spot!

Yelp
Talk about a once-in-a-lifetime experience! I would recommend anyone traveling to Hawaii, Maui, in particular, to stay at the Wailea Beach resort. Now, we were visiting at a time where they were doing construction, and during a holiday, which ramped up the amount of families in attendance; but with that being said, this resort is definitely giving a 4.5 out of five stars. Let me tell you why! Environment: We were there to celebrate our honeymoon, so we were already feeling all the love, but when we arrived at the resort, I felt like we were somewhere else (in the best way). We were greeted at check-in with juices and leis. Their open-air lobby is warm and very welcoming. Once you explore, beyond the lobby, at every angle it feels like you're able to truly appreciate and enjoy nature. And I think that was my favorite part about the resort! They have highlighted, the beautiful plants, art, and the uniqueness of their property in ways that makes them special. I think we got lucky with the weather, so that adds to the environment, but even on a rainy day it still felt so special to be here. Food: Food was pretty good here for the most part! Now they did have some unique Hawaiian cuisine, but most of the menu also has typical American fare. Now even with those food options, it is still worth it to eat at one of their restaurants on property. It's clear to me from our daily experiences that they do purvey fresh fish and serve it when they can! Staff: The highlight of my experience here is the staff! Let me tell you something, the staff here knew exactly where to go and what to experience while in Maui. They also helped us, many times, when we needed things delivered to the room, valet service, and even when shipping stuff back home. BIG thanks to them for their energy, we saw y'all working it!
google avatar

Jonathan B.

Yelp
Beautiful resort with the most amazing pool I've ever been in. Staff is all uniformly helpful and cool, and there's tons of stuff to do. I recommend renting snorkeling equipment and take the guide trip. It's not expensive and the guide will show you stuff you'd likely never find on your own. We saw turtles and huge schools of fish and a friendly octopus. The food is insanely good, all the way from breakfast to the drinks at the late-night bar. Is it expensive? Yeah, but what I found is that it's shockingly close in price to places that are 1/4 as good as this. I'd rather come to Maui half as often but come here every time I do.

Yelp
Such a beautiful resort! We came during February whale season, we would sit in the infinity pool and have a perfect view of the whales for hours on end. The service was amazing, and since it was our honeymoon, we received a free bottle of sparkling wine and fruit plate. Such a nice touch! All of the on-site food and drink are a little overpriced but it was delicious and convenient!

First time to Maui! Went for a birthday week and it was amazing! The resort was huge, expansive, great for retirees, families, couples and the college students. It has a water slide plus two infinity pools, one is 21+ only! Expensive? Yes, but beautiful resort in Wailea, close to the beach and wonderful staff. Pros: loved the leis and POGs upon check in, loved water snorkeling off the reef, the plentiful chairs and spots to sit, the mo bettah food truck was amazing! I also got a bottle of champagne and chocolates for my birthday in my room which was appreciated:) also across the street from Wailea shops! Cons: pricey for garden view room, which was more of "back alley staff entrance view", food on resort was meh, and drinks pricey at $20 and up. The showers do not have a door which is weird since we constantly rinse or shower daily so the shower will leak water. Would like some slippers for the hard floors but that's just minor compared to how beautiful and warm it is!
