We really enjoyed our visit to the botanical gardens and educational exhibits at the park leading us to the reward at the end, swimming in the pool of the waterfall!
We did arrive late in the afternoon, quickly bypassed the gift shops, drink spots and shave ice stand route to the waterfall.
There were many signs and plant markers as well as exhibits to learn of ancient traditions and the area’s history along the hike to the falls.
We stopped and admired the blooms and beauty, every where we looked. And the sweet scents of the various flowers were heavenly.
The hike, if not stopping takes 45 minutes, we had to wait a few minutes to get life vests, and were eager to cool off in the fresh mountain run off. At first the pool was quite busy and wall to wall people, but our timing proved to be on our side and soon enough it was only us, two other tourists and the 2 lifeguards. Absolutely the most amazing time ever!! We offered to photograph the other couple, and they made a cute video of us (at our request of course) as we were leaving.
To be able to swim without hundreds of people was such a treat, as they say, “ timing is everything”
Take only memories and leave nothing but footprints
