Beautiful day for a hike up through the Bamboo Forest to Waimoku Falls. We started by parking at the Haleakala National Park. The Park Rangers were very knowledgeable and friendly. The restrooms were clean. The total distance from the NP to Waimoku Falls is a little over 4 miles. Parts of the trail were slippery from rain and required caution. Overall I rated the hike at moderate. A good pair of walking shoes and a bottle of water is recommended. We took our time going up and back and saw several fruit trees, flowers and ferns. Some of the fruit trees we saw : Papaya, Guava, Mango and Almond. I would recommend this hike as an opportunity to explore more of the island.

May be an unpopular opinion, but I was disappointed with this waterfall and hike. The waterfall was a lot smaller than I thought it would be and we couldn't go swim by it. The hike was difficult. I don't know, it was a lot of work for a mediocre outcome. The hike itself was cooler to see other things, like the bamboo forest or massive tree, than the waterfall. 4 miles roundtrip.

First of all, the views on this hike are amazing! Soooo worth the hike. It is not a hard hike. There are lots of places to rest along the way. The hike took us about 2 hours up and 2 hours back down. The bamboo forest was super cool to see in person. It rained pretty good on us during the hike, and the trail got pretty muddy and slippery, so make sure you have some good shoes on. This is definitely a must do adventure while on Maui!

Wear good hiking shoes. You will get muddy. Round trip 2 to 3 hours. Absolutely beautiful. Do not go past the sign. Rocks will and do fall! We heard what sounded like thunder and it was boulders falling and almost landed on tourist. Be careful. Girl was so freaked out!

It's a 3 mile hike each way and takes about two hours round trip depending on how much you stop. The trail is very muddy in parts and you will definitely get your shoes and legs covered in mud. The views along the trail and at the waterfall are worth it though. Might want to wear bug spray, we didn't see any mosquitoes but I had multiple bites on my arms and legs at the end of the hike

The bamboo trail was amazing and the waterfall at the end was so breathtaking. I personally did not enjoy the full drive on the road to Hana because it was waaaay long. The bamboo trail is at the very end so you have to do the entire journey.

Definitely worth the 4mile round trip to visit these stunning waterfalls. It felt so magic after completing the walk and the whole Road to Hana trip. We got there around 10.30 in the morning and it was muddy but I am so glad we did not miss this stop. It is a walk uphill the whole way over steel bridges (Indiana Jones esque) through jungle and a beautiful bamboo forest. Being covered in mud made it all the more fun. Absolutely loved this trail!!!!
