This historic place was awesome! ( Robert Lewis Stevenson would come here and write). The food was excellent. My chicken salad in a papaya was worth the trip to Hawaii. ( not getting that in Syracuse) My wife’s avocado toast was excellent. The breakfast sandwich was delicious I was told. And the scone was delicious. It was soft and sweet with lots of blueberries. YES YES YES! The serve team were friendly

Google
Phenomenal service and food! My friend suggested we eat here before we visited Lyon Arboretum. This place did not disappoint! We both ordered the avocado toast that comes with eggs. Large portions for breakfast and delicious. We also got scones and they were massive. The mango lilikoi scone was the best scone I've ever had. Divine! Beautiful laid back and charming atmosphere. Loved it and can't wait to go back soon!!!! 🌺🌴🩷❤️

This might be the most beautiful restaurant I have ever been to anywhere, and it is a must-visit if you are on Oahu! Conveniently located, free parking, amazing pastries/coffee/food, lovely staff, and the coziest environment. The plants and history are to die for. I am truly blown away by this place.

Google
Quaint outdoor bakery/cafe style. Scones are def divine. Breakfast bowl lacks “punch” or any spectacular anything. But I’ve never had scones of such flavor and moist quality. On the day we came they were doing a peach mango lemonade tea that was mostly watered down and lacking flavor despite the descriptive title. Would come back simply for to go items.

This is a beautiful location with good parking and really kind staff. I was very impressed with how they handled my toddler spilling coffee (twice). They are very child friendly. I was also very happy with the service because our waffles were a little bit of a wait so they brought us over a free scone. Very kind gesture. The food is also delicious. We really enjoyed the mochi waffles and macadamia nut pancakes .

Google
Food was excellent. We ate in and ordered breakfast. We also ordered some fresh baked goods. Hot out of the oven. Cool environment and very relaxed. Busy on a Saturday, so we had to hunt for a table, but not terrible. Definitely visit when you can.

Kinda a hidden spot if you're not from that side. The atmosphere is chill and laid back. Natural air! So if it's muggy, it wouldn't be a great experience. Pricey. I would give it a five-star, but the rice was undercooked. Other than that, it was delicious.

Google
Very hip place. Lots of scone options in the front, I recommend the mango lilikoi scone it was so delicious we got a second one. The avocado toast was good, but for me personally it had a little too much sauce (sriracha aioli). You order your food first and then find a place to sit. Lots of tables available and they even have hair chairs (just ask a staff member). My only complaint would be I wished they had more coffee options. Regardless, the food was delicious and I would return again.

Yelp
A hidden brunch place in beautiful Manoa. I stumbled on this place driving by on my way to hike Manoa falls. I decided to stop by and had a great meal. I ordered a locomoco plate, a local favorite food and an ube scone. Both are delicious and well made to my taste. Staff: accommodating and pleasant. They all have a nice inviting attitude. Parking: ample and shaded. If you're having a slow day and enjoys brunch away from the busy city, this place is worth checking out.

Yelp
Hidden neighborhood spot loved by locals! I lived up the street from this place for 2 months and never knew it was here but last month my friend took me here and I'm glad I finally learned about this place. We went for breakfast and easily found a table outside on their beautiful porch. We both had the avocado toast with an egg and it was delicious. The lilikoi scone was delicious but too big for one person to eat. I didn't have any of their drinks but they looked good. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and you can see wild chickens and lizards running around . Super cute place to check out next time you're in Manoa.

Yelp
***DO NOT EAT HERE WITH SEVERE NUT ALLERGIES*** I have a severe nut allergy and informed the staff of it before ordering asking if I could safely eat there. It's obvious the place uses a lot of nuts. They could have informed me that there is too much risk and recommended I didn't eat there. Instead, the girl at the counter said she would add a note to my order and that I should be safe eating their burger and coffee. My husband ordered the chicken salad -- and there was no notice that it included Mac nuts. The chicken salad came out with Mac nuts sprinkled all on top. I went into anaphylactic shock immediately at the table after eating two bites of my burger, a couple of chips, and a few sips of French press coffee. I luckily had an EpiPen with me and an ER right down the road. Whether it was cross contamination from my husbands lunch that they didn't indicate came with nuts or they add inamona to season something in the burger or have nuts in their tomato jam on the burger, I can't be certain. This establishment, while beautiful and safe for those without food allergies, should be avoided at all cost if you have a nut allergy. Wish they would have just recommended that I not eat there.I do realize nowhere can guarantee safety. Just wanting to advise others like me so they can make an informed decision.

Yelp
I would get brunch here every weekend if I lived in Oahu. I ordered the lilikoi scone and fried rice and both were perfect! Also tried mom's banana mac nut pancakes and those were great too. Prices are so reasonable, and love that eating here supports vocational training for folks recovering from substance abuse. Great mission, great food, beautiful patio and garden space, extremely kind staff... what more can you ask for?

Sherrie R.

Yelp
First of all, I was a server decades back when it was Wai'oli Tea Room for a summer and that was a wonderful experience. Here was what we all experienced last week though: 1. Stay far away on the weekends. The parking is beyond awful and all these signs up above by the Salvation Army don't indicate you can park there. After sitting in the lot 15 minutes, I finally called the restaurant and to asked what to do and they guided me. The man of the phone was nice and helpful. 2. I waited behind about sixty people!! Also, the line doesn't appear to stop as it was just as crazy when we left. You better have 30 minutes or more to wait in line after waiting for awhile for parking! :( 3. Food Service = No Service. The ONLY WAY to get food now is "service walk-up" INCLUDING the SAME LINE FOR THE BAKERY!! Talk about mismanagement. They easily could have had a separate line for people only wanting baked goods. Then a line for those ordering an actual breakfast, brunch or lunch. It's not that hard, guys! They really need servers there like it used to be, not bussers, as it feels so rushed now. 4. The food was lovely with good portions. I had the Waioli Breakfast Bowl! The apple crossant from the bakery was yummy too along with the homemade bread. It's a shame that they are so mismanaged with lines and parking on the weekend. By the time you actuallly sit down to eat, we weren't too excited about the whole experience. 5. The bussers and kitchen staff are so nice! Just lovely folks that we talked to. Train them as food servers so we don't have to do the horrible line waits. 6. The location is stunning!! I've always loved it. Try it on the weekdays. I hope your experience is better then. I know they are training rehab folks and I wanted to support that. They really should KEEP SERVERS GOING there though. Please make this experience happier and not so robot-like. I feel mixed about the whole thing.

Yelp
My friends and I just finished hiking Manoa falls and I heard a lot about Waioli Kitchen and Bakeshop so we decided to check it out for brunch! The place is big with both indoor and mostly outdoor seating. You stand in line and order and then they'll bring your food to you. It can be hard to find a table if it's busy but a few tables opened up for us, we just had to wait a bit for someone to clean it up. I ordered the breakfast bowl and a chocolate banana bread. The breakfast bowl was good but nothing special. I liked how it also came with some toast to make the meal more filling. The banana bread was moist and not too sweet. I also got to try the chocolate almond crossiant and the chocolate cookie and those were delicious as well! They do a great job with the pastries. Overall, this is a nice place to grab brunch especially after you hike Manoa falls since it's right there. I would come here again to try their other breakfast dishes and pastries!

Yelp
Waioli Kitchen and Bake is tucked away in a little mountain in Hawaii. This is very well known tourism spot so you have to be willing to wait an hour to find a seat. The wait is definitely worth it. Coffee and Mochi pancakes were so so good. This is the reason I started making Mochi waffles at home! Service was extremely good and I will definitely visit them again. Oh and did I tell you this cafe is so romantic? :)

Jackie K.

Yelp
My first memories visiting the Waioli Tea Room (former name) is when I was a child. My parents brought our family here to enjoy the beautiful lush Manoa Valley greenery, fancy tea and goods. According to it current website, the Waioli Tea Room Opened in 1922. The Waioli Tea Room was conceived as a vocational training facility for the orphans housed at the Salvation Army Girls Home that was also located on the Manoa Campus. The Waioli Tea Room served breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea and at its height and attracted hundreds of guests every day from around the world. Fast forward to September 2024 and I Yelped the old name and found Waioli Kitchen and Bake Shop ("WKBS"). I have been wanting to revisit and experience the updated WKBS. A perfect occasion arose with my Aunty (lives here) and cousin from LA visiting here. The plan was hatched and we arrived around 20 minutes before opening. A bit early but we secured a close parking space. We talked story for a bit and then made our way to the entrance. By the time we started walking towards WKBS, the free parking lot was nearly full! Come early to secure a free parking space. As you enter, you are guided to the menu boards to place your order. It's a stand in line type process. Efficient and organized unless you take a moment or two to ask questions about the menu! We placed our order and paid for it. You are given a number placard to place on your table. If you ordered coffee like we did, your hot cup of Kona coffee will be given to you immediately on the side counter. There is a table with all the condiments you may need. Coffee is refillable and for take out as well! Kona Coffee: 4/5 stars. As you place your order, look to your left and your eyes and nose will follow the gorgeous display of fresh bake goods. So many to choose from. Our breakfast order consisted of the Breakfast Bowl $13.50 (Fried rice, scrambled egg, bacon and toast), Açaí and granola fruit bowl $12.50 and Avocado Toast (Sour dough bread, avocado, arugula, two eggs, sriracha aioli, and goat cheese). Price: ? We picked up baked goods to go. I selected the Candied ginger and lemon scone, Mango Liliko'i scone, Almond chocolate croissant and a chocolate chip cookie. Disclosure: I do not like arugula. I find the bitter taste similar to endives. Not my cup of tea. Having disclosed this, I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the avocado toast! The combination of items curbed the taste of the arugula! I enjoyed this avocado toast. 4/5 stars The açaí bowl was equally, if not a tad more delicious! Flavorful and full of toppings. The serving size is small and one person can easily consume it all in a sitting : ). 4/5 stars Breakfast Bowl looked delicious as well. My Aunty ordered this. I did not try it but it looked filling and savory. WKBS sells store merchandise in the restaurant. The restaurant has restrooms available indoors. Service 4/5 stars. The food came out quickly from the kitchen. Water is provided and refilled. Tables are clean and the noise level depends on the number of patrons. Ambiance is 5/5 stars. Open concept seating and beautiful views of the greenery and mountains.

Yelp
First time to waioli in manoa valley. It's lovely!!! Had the fried rice bowl. Came with fried rice, scrambled eggs, a bacon strip and toast. $14.50. it was delicious. Staff were kind, and checked on us. Coffee is refillable. Order at counter then take a seat. Staff brings you your food. Many areas to sit in the building and on outside lanai. Medium sized parking lot. Went at 1000 on a Tuesday and parking was challenging. Recommend!!!

Kelly K.

Yelp
Waioli is an old school location and site of many family parties in the past. It's been decades since I've been. First things first, it's definitely a tourist spot. Minutes before they opened at 8am the line formed. They want you to order first then grab a table. The line moves slow so patience is necessary. We were luckily 2nd in line because an assertive person who must've been in a rush cut to the front. We ordered the breakfast bowl (3/5), avocado toast (4/5) and açaí bowl (4/5). And I brought a few pastries home (apple turnover 4/5, savory scone 3/5, and ginger scone 3/5). Coffee here is good and you can get refills and a to-go cup. Service is friendly and efficient. I think they should have two registers because the lines get long and it does not move fast. You get a number, and the good is brought to your table. Easy peasy. The atmosphere is old Hawaii with a slightly modern touch. Outdoor and indoor seating is plentiful. We opted for indoor because it has ac and didn't want to get bit by the manoa mosquitoes. Parking is free but by the time we left the parking was full. All in all a lovely and peaceful place to grab a bite and casually chit chat. LOCATION: 4/5 FOOD: 4/5 SERVICE: 3.5/5 VALUE: 3.5/5 AMBIANCE: 4/5 PET FRIENDLY: outdoor CLEANLINESS: 4/5 PARKING: 5/5

Yelp
A breakfast getaway... This stunning historic building is located up in Manoa and I finally made my back since way before when it used to be Waioli Tea room and on this gloomy weather morning not just anywhere would set the vibe for us as before we go and pick up my brother's urn I thought that we spend this time in the morning for some breakfast and this spot was the perfect escape with their beautiful lush greenery settings. As my brother also had special needs it was fitting to show some love at a place that does so as well with various training in the work force that already is something very special and there is a 3% training charge and am grateful knowing that it's going to a loving cause. Driving up to this bougie driveway you already have that comfy feeling and all the decor and historic vibe is shown in every part of this house. Rain or shine I'd still on the lanai 100% the calming feel as each table has it's own personal space we both had a great time removing ourselves from various adulting. Mom had the Banana Mac Nut Pancakes which was massive, they serve it with homemade Haupia sauce though she enjoyed it with my strawberry jelly that came with my Breakfast Bowl which I do recommend which is filled with fried rice topped with scrambled eggs, a crispy bacon and toast...a simple but very hearty breakfast she also couldn't resist a muffin which turned out to be a Coconut Haupia Bread Pudding along with a couple other pastries that we had to get. There were other rooms in the restaurant that you can plan a gathering is a lovely idea with the lovely coziness it gives makes it a place to relax is here. Thank you!

Marilyn V.

Yelp
We had brunch here and the ambiance of this restaurant/cafe is inviting. Setting looks like a big house with plenty of rooms with dissimilar sets of dining tables that look disparate but cohesive. It's also quite remote - the only restaurant atop Manoa's vast "rainforest" area. Brunch here awakens your senses. Food menu is simple with only a few items. Additionally, there's some baked goods. What's interesting to know is Ron, the owner is a beekeeper! He maintains his beehives at the back Of this restaurant and sells pure raw honey for $11.50 each. Couldn't be more natural and organic than this!

Peter C.

Yelp
Waioli Bake Shop is a cozy place to come to in Manoa Valley for brunch. They started as vocational training for orphans, but now they are a vocational training for graduates of programs for substance abuse. With this mission and relaxing location you have to come to support them. Their brunch and bakery options are good .

Elaine M.

Yelp
Great scones! Great food! Great prices! Great people! Great location! Great variety on the menu! We always meet friends there! Near Manoa falls so great for your out of town guests! 5 stars!!!

Alyssa B.

Yelp
If you want to order the biggest Banana Mac Pancakes for a reasonable price then you should eat here. Not to mention you get to eat your breakfast / food surrounded by one of Hawaiis most beautiful botanical gardens And the staff is really sweet they will recommend their favorites to you if your unsure of what to order and you can take home souvenirs from their gift shop for purchase

vanessa j.

Yelp
Customer service was outstanding! Of course, love the nature ambiance! The plate items were okay, nothing to write home to, BUT the pastries *chef's kiss*.. we still daydream about them, haha!

Alex Z.

Yelp
This place is super popular, the line is very long that you order from the counter then find yourself a seat. we stopped by here before we went for a little hike at Moana fall . the space inside is big , so it's not a problem to find seats after you order. Apparently this place established in 1922, so it's over 100 years of history. I tried their ube scone, it's crispy on the outside and moist inside. it's more like a muffin than scone. their famous mochi pancake is also very interesting, outside is crispy brown, but when you bite into it that gives you a bit of the chewy texture. they came in four small sizes so it's easy to eat. definitely worth a try if you are a mochi fan.

Kate M.

Yelp
In Manoa across the parking lot from Salvation Army. The views around the cafe are impeccable. You can get a taste of Hawaii and the glory of nature without having to travel too far into the woods. It's quiet, the winds rustling the tree leaves are peaceful, and the birds are plentiful (maybe too many). Was recommended their breakfast bowl. I will say they use A LOT of butter. And of course it's going to be delicious. Eggs were perfect with lots of butter. Bacon. Fried rice was seasoned well and butter. It's a heavy meal for breakfast. Maybe those with a larger appetite can fully appreciate the carb-heavy plate. French press coffee was a solid 7/10. Hot, good, lots of volume. Chocolate croissant (pretty crispy) was doused in chocolate and powdered sugar. Take that as you will. I would recommend coming here maybe to decompress and have a cup of coffee/tea. Their foods were a tad too heavy for me especially for breakfast.

Michelle I.

Yelp
Great place to have breakfast/brunch. Such a hidden treasure. Beautiful property and really nice staff. This place has a simple menu but everything I've gotten has been good. You order inside and find your own seat inside or outside the restaurant. This place can get busy on the weekend. There's a bunch of baked goods to choose from at the register (scones, muffins). I ordered a breakfast bowl. It came with simple fried rice, egg, toast, and one slice of thin bacon. The toast came with jelly and butter. I also ordered a mango scone and my friend ordered a Ube scone. There's a parking lot out front. If you want a nice relaxing meal in manoa, i recommend checking this place out!

Nami P.

Yelp
Food 8|10 I love mochi waffles. Thank you for the lady who took my order she recommended me her favorite savory and I loved it. 100000000|10 for the ambience Truly living in a tropical island lifestyle here

Dianna R.

Yelp
I've been here before and came again. They have delicious food, albeit a bit pricey, but the quality of their baked goods is superb. The man who is at the register is a friendly fellow and knows the products well. He was there both times. They do have a bit of an echo issue inside, and the acoustics could be better, but the food is good, and the sound isn't such an issue as to be off-putting. Definitely would like to come again. The blueberry scone and the almond chocolate croissant are my favourite.

Maxine P.

Yelp
Absolutely love the atmosphere. What a wonderful location for a restaurant. Tropical gardens surround it, part of the seating is located on the large Porch/lanai that surrounds most of the building. The interior is warm, inviting and a comfortable setting. The outside seating has beautiful views of the gardens, birds and of course chickens. When you enter you place your order at the counter and the order is brought to your table. We ordered the breakfast bowl, which included brown fried rice, scrabble egg, bacon and toast in a bowl. Rice is nicely seasoned and compliments the rest of the items. The coffee had a robust flavor that warmed us after our hike at Manoa Falls. They offer bakery items. This is a nice breakfast/lunch place to visit after a morning hike.

Cora L.

Yelp
A bit hidden in Manoa, Waioli is surrounded by greenery and near the Manoa Recreation Center. There is a parking lot right at the front, which can get crowded at times. The restaurant itself is very cute and set in an open building that is built like a house. There is a good amount of seating and after walking in and ordering, we sat ourselves. The menu is not super extensive but the menu items that are there, are really good. There are also a bunch of pastries and breakfast drinks available. The service is efficient and the whole place is very relaxed. There can be birds and flies around, which can be bothersome but is overall not a huge issue. We got the breakfast bowl, banana mac nut pancakes, and two eggs, bacon, ham, and toast. The pancakes were huge and very filling. The breakfast bowl is just filling enough and could pair well with a pastry. All in all, Waioli is a beautiful spot to go for breakfast!

Karla V.

Yelp
Flew to Oahu from Maui for the day, and was looking for a good breakfast place, wanted something new and different than what we have tried in the past. Came across this cute cute place, which back in the day used to be a tea house. Some of the best bread you will find on the island!!! They have savory and sweet scones; We tried the pork belly and cheese scones, and oh my... they were delicious!!! Along with the short rib loco moco and the macadamia pancakes!! The service at this place is top notch too!! I recommend you read up on the work they do for the community it's definitely admirable!!!

Janet S.

Yelp
Where has the charm gone? We first started going to the Waioli Tea Room run by the Salvation Army over 30 years ago. They had a huge tea offering, wonderful food and servers who were kind and caring. Now, we are in a new century and new owners. Change can be good, but for us it is not here. The parking lot is a disaster, the long line to wait to place an order and a menu that is more modern, but no tea room feel. They have only 3 kinds of tea. There are a handful of breakfast items and a handful of lunch items. The food was good. The blueberry scone was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The açaí bowl was different with sorbet on the bottom. The container bowl was small to look at, but jam packed. The 2 egg breakfast was good and filling. The way they put the butter together in the same container with the jam was interesting. This place was packed on a Friday morning. The line for food was consistently long. But the ambiance and feel of the lace is gone.

Ki R.

Yelp
This is a well established business run by great people for a great cause. The business is in a remote location and is set in a classic mission home and church. The food/kitchen and bakery are great, simple, and classic but so good. Their coffee's are great too. I love the fact that they serve all their foods and drinks on classic white plates and cups. Most of all, I love that some of the proceeds go to charities, and some of the staff come from tough backgrounds, so they are given a second chance, which is great! So please support. Godbless!

Haley A.

Yelp
I would visit here again simply for the tranquility; the surrounding greenery is beautiful and you could even hear cheerful bird calls which I haven't experienced anywhere else in Oahu except at some botanical gardens. Tucked away in Manoa, Waioli's can be found serving up some great dishes and a large variety of pastries! We ordered the short rib loco moco and an assortment of pastries. The gravy tasted like it had a blend of veggies which gave it a lighter and healthier feel. The short rib under the eggs was very tender and well seasoned. All the pastries were great but our favorite by far was the scone like item. We believe it had bacon, cheddar, chives, and maybe some onion? But the savory flavors really shone with just a hint of sweetness. Different from regular restaurant, you order up front, take your placard, and walk around the building to find seating. It does make the wait staff look around for you but getting to dine in such a historical building and enjoy the scenery is well worth it. Highly recommend just be patient when looking for seating!

Michelle R.

Yelp
I wish I would have taken more pictures but I was so hungry that I downed the scone and coffee before I could take a picture. The blueberry scone was super delicious and moist! I would definitely order this again! The coffee was strong but nothing super special to shout about. The breakfast fried rice bowl was super tasty! It was a good portion for the price and I was full. The food counter attendant and servers were very friendly and helpful. The place is very cute and is located is Manoa where everything is so green. I loved the vibe and will definitely be back

Leah E.

Yelp
I'm sorry to every member of my family that has been trying to get me to go to Waioli since it reopened many years ago. What an absolute hidden gem! I had the breakfast bowl that comes with fried rice, bacon, egg, toast and a side of butter and jam. The portion is small by Hawaii standards so be sure to get some pastries with your meal. I asked for the bacon crispy and the gentleman taking my order at the counter responded, we'll try. The bacon arrived not as crispy as I hoped but I appreciate the honesty. What really sets Waioli apart is the ambiance. Wow! Having breakfast in the middle of a rainforest is such a dream. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating. I will return to Waioli because 1. The ambiance is unmatched 2. I love to order at the counter and not deal with a server 3. The price is right. ($16.82 for the breakfast bowl + tip. 4. I love a business with a strong mission and connection to the community.

Lily P.

Yelp
I dream of this place and crave it often. Seating: Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. This spot does get busy at times but I have never been without a table. You order at the counter and take a seat after paying. Parking: parking is easy since it has its own parking lot. Short Rib Loco Moco: My partner is a loco moco #1 fan and he said this loco moco was on his top 3 favorites list. He's had a lot so it's definitely a compliment! The loco moco sauce was purely addictive and I almost stole his dish. It was that good. Banana Mac Pancakes: When it comes to breakfast I love me something savory and sweet so of course we had to get the pancakes! These were topped with banana and macadamia nuts. On the side comes a delicious creamy sweet sauce that perfectly compliments the pancakes. Almond Chocolate Croissant (not pictured): We ate and enjoyed this so much we forgot to take a picture. The croissant was the perfect balance of almond and chocolate. I am 100% going to get this next time.

Yelp
The 5 stars go to the food as well as the concept. Many of the folks employed here have paid their debt to society and are now trained to contribute to society. Make sure you read the Specialties and History under the "From this business" section here on Yelp. The food was amazing as well. I had the Short Rib Loco Moco which was phenomenal. I also tasted some of the baked goods which some in my party ordered. When you're done with your meal go through the store to the garden where you can see a rebuilt reenactment shack akin to the one which once housed Robert Louis Stevenson, the author of the classic novel "Treasure Island." Parking in the premises, great price and value.

Suri S.

Yelp
This is a beautiful hidden bakery located inside a historic place in Manoa -- just the drive there will make you instantly feel at peace. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. The history and mission of this place alone should encourage you to dine here! (Very interesting read on their website). "Honoring a legacy that will transform lives." They created something very special that I hope continues. Order at the counter and get a number, then find a table. We've been here twice now and treated kindly by all staff. The owner, Ross even came by our table to check on us and make jokes about the birds. All the food has been delicious, and has the best scones on the island! The Ube scone is my favorite. They even had fresh Challah bread (available Fridays) which was warm and fluffy. Highly recommend the in house sugar cane sodas - I don't usually like soda but these are very good. I have tried Dr. Pepper, Rootbeer and Lemon Lime. This oasis is becoming one of my favorite spots on the island. I feel very peaceful and mindful here. Perfect place to enjoy coffee and read a book even. Good spot to gather and share stories with your loved ones.

Clifton C.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to have brunch/lunch in a beautiful setting in Manoa. Their menu is limited to several breakfast and lunch items, all prepared perfectly and delicious. They also have one of the best scones on the island. I especially like the "savory" one. They also bake breads that sell out fast. They have a very efficient way of ordering your food, that is then brought to your table. Service is excellent and the staff is friendly and attentive. I was recently there for lunch with a friend. We sat at one of the tables overlooking the grounds. I had a gift bag that was given to me and my to go scone to carry. The next morning, I realize that I had left my TUMI bag where we sat for lunch. A real senior moment. I called the restaurant before they opened and Josh picked up the phone. He said he would check and call me back. Two phone calls later from Josh and he was able to locate my bag. What a relief. It was a Saturday morning and I know how busy they get. I have been there closer to lunch time on a Saturday and had to go somewhere else, because no parking. It was still early and I was able to get there by 8:30am. They open at 8am and the parking lot was already full. This is how popular they are, especially on the weekend. I appreciate the effort Josh and the staff made in finding my bag. I'm also posting a photo of my lunch the day I forgot my bag. Curry Chicken Salad on papaya and their Potato Bacon Salad. So good! This is a wonderful place to bring out of town guests. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We were thinking something sweet before we got there, but easily convinced to include Breakfast Bowl after being told it was the most popular item on the menu and usually it sells out! Boy, it really was tasty - the fried rice was flavorful with hint of dashi and great harmony with fluffy scrambled eggs + crunchy bacon! The ambience was peaceful and all the staff members we encountered were super friendly and helpful. We'll be sure to go back next time!

Yelp
I'm going to preface by saying that if you come here for pastries you will be addicted forever. That's what happened to my husband. I decided to bring him here because it was on my bookmarks forever. We were finally in the area, so we came here. Scones and other pastries were purchased and that was it. You can find my husband here at least once a week to snag some scones. Besides that, they are decently priced. They have good items on the menu as well, but the pastries are where it's at. The location is beautiful and quiet. There's lots of outdoor patio seating. The staff that work here are all given a second chance through their recovering addicts program. It is such an awesome way to give back to the community. Parking is ample, so you won't need to worry about searching. There's some locals here, but a handful of tourists. Definitely bookmark this place!

Yelp
He: Good Morning! What can I get for you? Me: What do you recommend? It all looks goods! He: You know what I recommend...get one of these (points to challah) with some butter and jam, and just tear into it. Me: Sounds good! I need a large pot of coffee... He: A coffee press? Me: Yes...that! And that was how I started my morning. The place was packed! Most of the table were occupied and some of the small tables needed to be cleared. However, there was a single woman sitting at the large dining table in one of the rooms. Me: Is it ok if I sit here? She: Yes. And you can tell me how that challah is. Me: Would you like a piece? I can't finish it all....I mean I can, but... She: No, if you like it, I'll probably get one of my own on the way out. This challah was sooooo good! Braided well, and fun to tear into. Buttered and jammed, not overly sweet and Hawaiian sea salted on top. This was a great way to enjoy my morning while working. Definitely worth coming to, to treat yourself or to bring family or friends. Me: The challah is awful! She: I can see that since you finished it all! Mahalo Waioli!

Yelp
I enjoy the breakfast at Waoili Kitchen. They are friendly and have great service. They are run by the Salvation Army and I've used their venue for my agency's fundraiser to combat child abuse by offering a cosplay tea party for child abuse and domestic violence survivors. It was my graduate advisor and my idea to do it. I'm glad I found this venue.

Yelp
Easily my favorite breakfast spot on the island! Waioli has delicious food and adorable decor. The best thing is the breakfast bowl - their fried rice is incredible I came here in high school to eat breakfast and work for a few hours, and now I bring my family here whenever we want a morning activity. They are always busy, so be prepared for a long line to order - it moves quickly!

Yelp
TL:DR - Great breakfast place, local style breakfast, little pricey Located in the residential area of Manoa, Waioli Kitchen and Bake Shop is the quintessential breakfast place. Beautiful outdoor seating surrounded by a lush foresty area. I came here with my fiance and parents and we quickly ordered up a couple acai bowls, the short rib loco moco, and some pancakes. There's also a wide selection of baked goods and we also got the haupia bread pudding and the mochi waffles. Honestly it might have been a little bit too much food, but it was all delicious! I had the short rib loco moco and found it tasty, but a little bit small for the price. I do love my loco mocos and so it hit the spot even though we were having it at like 9 in the morning. Fortunately the mochi waffles, which were just as soft and chewy as mochi were a good sweet pairing to it. The haupia bread pudding was also a huge fan favorite. The coconut sweetness of it and the gooey center make it the perfect breakfast dessert. By the time we left we all had to unbutton our pants a little. Overall, the food was great, the service was great, and the environment was great. I would recommend anyone who has guests coming in to town, to bring them here.

Yelp
Waioli Kitchen & Bake Shop is situated in beautiful Manoa Valley. The atmosphere is peaceful and makes force a lovely place to have lunch or breakfast.. Their food is delicious and the menu is just right not too many things to choose from but a good selection.. I always get the breakfast croissant with added additional avocado and bacon. It is served with a slice of pineapple and orange slice and a tomato wedge. They also have a wide selection of local handmade items witches nice if you are wanting to get a gift, there are quite a few things to choose from even handmade soaps, that smell wonderful are made with all natural ingredients.

Yelp
The scones here are *chef's kiss! We stopped by during the weekday for breakfast, and it was POPPING. The line was long to order, but it moves very quickly. I got a coffee, avocado toast, and we shared a blueberry and ube scone. The avocado toast was a bit too salty for my taste, but the eggs were nicely done and runny. The scones were the highlight- felt like I was eating cake for breakfast! When we were there, there were lots of large group reservations, and even a private party. Looks like such a nice venue given the homey and charming decor. Looking forward to coming back and trying other menu items!

Yelp
Waioli kitchen is located in Manoa on a slight hill. It's surrounded by beautiful greenery and the location is pretty . I ordered the short rib loco moco, Lilikoi scone , green tea. Service was excellent, food freshly baked and freshly made to order . Indoor and outdoor dining was very nice, the decor of the kitchen is very nice . There is ample parking , a few steps nearby a nice chapel dedicated to the founders .

Yelp
Come for the scones if nothing else! We came on a Tuesday about 10ish and parking was full and we circled twice before someone left. There was a line to order but went pretty quick. When we got to the counter to order, we got the short rib loco moco (short rib was tender but wish the gravy had more flavor), the breakfast bowl (basically fried rice, scrambled egg, and bacon - the rice was very flavorful which was the highlight of this dish), the lilikoi mango scone (was warm when we got it and definitely good flavor - a must get) , savory cone (my friend enjoyed this as well), ube white chocolate scone (really good and not so sweet - perfect), and the apple turnover (my friend said it was ok - apples were a bit sour). We also order tea and they came in tea bags..this was tea room so thought be loose leave tea..oh wells. Overall, very good and would come back. The staff was very friendly and the ambiance was unique.

Yelp
Had to come again to see if my first impression was legitimate...it was! Seems there's always a line but was worth the wait. I've come around 11am each time. Maybe come earlier around 8 when they open or after 12 ( but risk them being out of their breakfast bowl or specials). This time I tried their special, an avocado toast. So so yummy with their homemade sourdough bread, avocados, arugula, a spicy aioli sauce and 2 perfect easy over eggs. Next, was their soup and a BLT. Also good and especially welcome on a cool day. But what was great were their scones. I saw the reviews but didn't believe them until i tried them myself. Fresh out of the oven, so buttery flaky and delicious. Had a mango lilikoi and savory one. Can't decide which i liked better... so why choose?

Yelp
I haven't been here for many years. I believe they closed during Covid and didn't reopen for a few years. took my girlfriend for a belated birthday luncheon. You have to order at the counter then they give you a number and bring your food out to your table. We both ordered the short rib Loco moco which was fabulous and came out fairly quickly! The ceiling fans provide out for breeze, but it can get quite humid being in Manoa Valley. When the fans are off, of course there are mosquitoes. Ample parking, my girlfriend and I were the last to leave because we kept chatting. As we hadn't seen each other for quite some time.

Yelp
This is a favorite place to enjoy a scrumptious brunch with friends, a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of town into lush, green Manoa. The last time I was there, I had the loco moco with pork - ooo that gravy was so ono (tasty, good)! I'm on a low carb diet right now, so I didn't eat all the rice, but you know I had to eat any rice on the plate that was touched by that oh-so-ono gravy. The pork was moist and fall-off-the-bone. Loved it! We shared a pot of coffee, and I can never pass up their chocolate cookie (I had to, sorry dr.).

Yelp
Came on a recommendation from a friend and this place is SO GOOD. I wish I could have tried everything but the avocado toast sounded the best (basic I know but when you're traveling something you just want something you know!) Eggs were perfectly over medium, loved the addition of the arugula and the bread was perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The setting is also just so lovely. I got there right after it opened and there was already a line! Be prepared to wait but it's worth it.

Yelp
Stopped here before hiking Manoa Falls for breakfast. We got there around 8:30 before the crowds really started. The line was still very long but moved pretty quick. They always have a daily special outside of their menu up on the chalk board. We both got the breakfast bowls, which seemed to be popular - everyone around us also had them! I was a little disapppinted to see it only came with one piece of bacon though... the eggs were nice, fried rice was flavorful, and the toast was good too. It was a good serving of food - not too big and not too small! They had a lot of fresh pastries as well and they're to die for. My favorite is the white chocolate Ube scone and the lemon ginger scone! Really crumbly with good flavor - perfect with coffee! The outside seating is relaxing with all the greenery and wildlife. Staff was friendly and inside was clean! Be prepared for limited parking and a line though!

Yelp
I'm back!! One of my favorite restaurants for its classic plantation style charm, friendly service, and great food and baked goods. It's a converted Manoa home with a fireplace, stone walls, huge windows, and a long open air patio. I just love sitting here and soaking up the charm! I've studied and worked here for hours and they never make you feel rushed, but will ask you if you want more coffee (endless refills!). There are multiple different seating arrangements around the restaurant, from the big dining table shared with others to the fireplace couch or many tables for your party. They also have a meeting room you can rent separately for your events. The people here have always been the most friendly and cheerful!! Like you feel like it's a bed and breakfast almost where you're welcomed into their home! Today someone asked me if they could pray for my leg (surgery for torn acl and meniscus) and to be honest I'm not very religious but I couldn't say no to his obvious good will he wanted to share with me, for me. Food has always been good but honestly it's secondary to the restaurant and people itself. Today I got the BLTA on grilled sourdough again which is the lunch menu for breakfast. Perfect! Thick crispy bacon, just the right balance of lettuce, tomatoe and avocado to make it delicious! Especially on their tangy sourdough bread!! The view.... Heart eyes!!
