My boyfriend and I stayed 6 nights here with my 10 year old son. All of us absolutely LOVED it. The grounds are green and lush with beautiful flowers. Our condo faced the ocean so we could watch the sunrise from either of our porches-we had 2- one from the bedroom and one from the living room. The condo was comfortable and relaxing, and had a full kitchen and washer and dryer, which was super convenient and helped us save money. The pool was great- it winded around and had a waterfall, 2 water slides, and a really cool kiddie pool with a sand bottom for the little ones. It also has 2 hot tubs- one 16+ and one family. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I think this was my favorite hotel ever!

A great place to stay for a week long vacation! We travelled with 4 adults and a 2yo. The resort is right on a private beach, and has a beautiful pool in the center courtyard. Walking distance to Safeway and lunch spots. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the front desk is very kind is receptive to needs.

A Slice of Paradise - Highly Recommend! I recently had the pleasure of staying at Waipouli Beach Resort, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and catered to every need with genuine hospitality. The resort itself is stunning—perfectly nestled along a pristine beach with crystal-clear waters and soft white sand. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully designed, with breathtaking ocean views from the balcony. Waking up to the sound of waves and a sunrise over the water was truly unforgettable. The amenities were top-notch, from the sparkling infinity pool to the well-equipped fitness center and luxurious spa. Dining was a highlight, with a variety of restaurants offering fresh, flavorful dishes that showcased local ingredients. We especially loved the beachfront grill, where we enjoyed the freshest seafood under the stars. There was no shortage of activities to keep us entertained. Whether we were snorkeling, paddleboarding, or simply lounging by the beach with a cocktail in hand, every moment felt like a dream. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, reconnect, and soak up the beauty of nature, this resort is a perfect choice. I can’t wait to return and experience this little slice of paradise again!

Google
Called shortly after arriving about a lanai slider door problem and the phone not working. Talked to the resort and the separate rental agency. No one showed up the entire week we were there. I brought up other problems with the resort and they said the "owner" would have to deal with those other problems. It was low season so few units were occupied which made using the pool an excellent experience. I wouldn't want to be they when it's busy. The location is convenient with a grocery and restaurants across the street. The 2 bedroom unit was very nice, except for the problems. The washer and dryer and dishwasher were a helpful convenience.

Google
YES! This is the place to stay in Kapaa. We went in December and stayed in building G. Ocean views from kitchen, living room, dining room and balcony as we had end unit. Very quiet unit. Well equipped room just as if I was in my own home. Only thing we bought was our food to cook and laundry detergent (only because we use different brand due to allergies). Beach is right there and pretty quiet beach with only those staying at this resort using. Loved the large pool area and water slides, yes us adults liked the slides too. Walking distance to grocery store, shopping center and various food options. Don’t forget to catch the sunrise from the beach. 😁

Google
We loved this place! Centrally located. The rooms were spacious and accommodating. The pool and slides were fun but chilly. Easy drives to North and South shore. Safewayocated across the street was very convenient.

Google
This was a great resort that offered condo units. They are clean and in very good condition. This property is well worth the money. They also have a great pool with two water slides, lots of fun. I will stay here again. This is an A+ property.

Google
The pool is fantastic and our room was comfortable. Giving it a 2 star rating for several reasons. We payed for an ocean view and that can only be seen when leaning out one of the balconies. It was a waste of money and disappointing. When I called about it they couldn’t move us anywhere else with a view and claimed this was an ocean view room. The WiFi was also so slow it was unusable and the front desk is only staffed from 9AM-7PM. Otherwise you’re on your own. Also the ATM was broken and there is no housekeeping available - you have to use the same towels the whole time despite a huge cleaning fee (650$) The location is great!

Yelp
Amazing Resort & hopefully, we get the same room next time as well! What worked out well for us - Clean Room with huge kitchen, restroom. Our kid had lots of fun walking around the unit! - No bugs, no disturbance from any other unit. - lots of parking! - dish washer (they give the dishwashing pods for free!) - washer & dryer within your unit - clean pool and they have toddler pool with beach sand which was fun! - Groceries, food, cafe are on the right across the road! - Friendly staff at the reception! - Beach towels (but they are open only from 9-6pm!) Things to look out for - For the first time, the board for Waipouli beach restort is only on the main road and there are no signs inside the property. you will see lots of signage for Spa and a small glass door on the left for Waipouli Beach Resort & Spa by Outrigger - phone calls from the room do not work, I left voicemail and still got no calls. the easiest way is to call the main number and then reach the reception. - Beach towels are available only from 9am to 6pm so make sure you pick them up if you wish to enter the pool later in the evening!

Yelp
I have not stayed here but have got to experience their beautiful pool. I enjoyed it very much, especially the lazy river side. Water temperature was perfect! Loved the waterfalls and landscaping. Best pool on the east side! The one thing is they don't have a pool bar and food establishment. No, I don't want to use the QR code for their Oasis restaurant outside of their pool. I was actually starving at the pool after my Spa treatment.

Yelp
This isn't really a hotel, it's more of a timeshare/owners renting out to people. Kind of like an Airbnb in a way. There is a front desk but very limited hour, after you have to call security to check you in. The room is just like a hotel. We got the studio. It came with a mini fridge and a microwave. The room itself is very comfortable. The bed wasn't bad. We love the ceiling fan and AC. Worked very well together. The bathroom had very good shower pressure. Toilet flushed a little slow, but other than that it was fine. The pool is cool. There's a lazy River, slide and beach entry area with an adults only jacuzzi. They are a little strict here though as they don't let you have any pool floaties. We didn't know and got in trouble. There's an on-site restaurant, it's very good but pricey! Good to try though. Lots of residents living here. Parking is plentiful and they didn't charge us. The location is stellar. It's across from a strip mall with plenty of options.

Yelp
Nice resort when visiting Kauai. Central location with a great pool. Condos with full kitchens, laundry, and other amenities. Great for families since you can cook meals. Safeway is across the street, so it can't get more convenient than that. Plenty of shops and eateries in that same plaza. There are also lots of restaurants within walking distance of the resort. An on-site beachfront restaurant if you fancy. Plus, the spa rounds out the features of the location. It's resort living with budget consciousness. I've found the best way to book is via Kauai Calls.

Yelp
This review is for the Spa by the Sea, which is within the Waipouli Beach Resort. The spa is nice but in the height of wearing masks on the Hawaiian islands, masks were optional in this spot??!! None of the staff were wearing masks and this is at the end of Feb 2022 early March 2022 when they were required indoors. I opted to keep mine on as I'm risk-averse like that. They had a nice relaxation room and robes and they offered sparkling water and chocolate prior to the service. The massage room was nice and quiet, despite the fact this spa is just off of the parking lot. Amanda was great and gave a nice massage. The massage was about $250 with a resort fee (kind of a scam) and the tip included for a 50-minute massage. I always expect to pay more while on vacation this was a bit much but I figured I would check it out. I asked about a coffee shop or anything on-premises, they had nothing and directed me to the Starbucks across the street. I walked around the pool area a bit which was nice, especially for kids but I think if you wanted to swim laps you would be out of luck. We had considered staying here but I'm glad we opted for another property after being on this one. As there aren't many services you would expect when calling your property a resort. It looks like condos on a rental program with a nice pool and spa.

Yelp
Just got back from Kauai and spent a week at the Waipouli Resort. We booked directly from Outrigger. What a great experience! This is our first time on Kauai but we have stayed at many Outriggers from Oahu and Maui in the past. We love the Honua Kai on Maui and have stayed there 4 times. First, let me say Lani from the front desk is great! She is super friendly and flexible. She helped me plan a little birthday welcome for my daughter who has a birthday while we were traveling. She pointed out all the local spots and tips on the island and how to best get around! Hotel: The Hotel is great for families. Love having a full kitchen! Pots, pans, utensils, basically anything in a kitchen are available. However, you need your own cooking oil and seasoning. Having a washer and dryer is great, clean clothes from the beach and fresh clothes for the flight home helps. Need your own detergent but they sell the pods at the front desk for .50 and Safeway is across the street. Pool is great but a little cold. Grounds are well kept. The beach is very choppy on this side of the islands. I would not recommend beach play for little ones without supervision. They have tide pools which are really cool. For beach play near the hotel, I recommend Lydgate Pools. Our room was great and very clean. It looked like it had been updated with paint and furnishment. We had an ocean view but there was some obstruction with the trees but seeing the pool and the ocean was a nice touch. We were on the D tower, 3rd floor. The carpet was clean, bed was comfortable. The sofa bedding was not, but it is a pullout. The overall hotel probably could use a facelift or modernization as you can see wear and tear in the lobby and hallways. The hotel is very quiet. Very nice touch. Never had to fight for a lounge chair even with all the families visiting, never felt crowded like you might feel on Maui. Pros: Good clean room. Everything you need from a condo is available. Location - right across the street from a Safeway, ABC Store, Starbucks (if needed, we always go for local coffee joints in Hawaii), Wailua Shave Ice, Panda, an arcade lol. You can walk there. There is a Kenji burger right next door, a brewery one block over. Restaurant onsite, but never went tried. Like anything else on the island, dinner is expensive. I heard great reviews but for the prices, I went to other options in Poipu - Red Salt, Beach House, Hukilau, etc. Staff - Security, Front desk, building maintenance were great and friendly. Our dishwasher was literally running the entire day we were gone because of some error and they came and fixed it immediately when we told them. The Towel Service team could use a friendlier attitude for sure. Cons: Limited overall service. Front desk is open from 9am to 7. No housekeeping at all. The entire time we stayed there we cleaned our own sheets and towels. You can ask for maintenance to get a vacuum or a broom if needed. They are super friendly. As mentioned earlier, the general appearance of the hotel's common areas needs some updating, broken fixtures in the elevator, scratches and dents in hallways, worn out lobby furniture, etc. You would expect more from a $500 plus night 4star rating. Aside from the minor cons, I would definitely stay here again with my family. For a whole week, we definitely like the extra space. We stayed at the Andaz and the Fairmont last year as a family and a whole week was a lot to be sharing in a standard room. Also, we loved walking across the street after returning home from dinner to Wailua Shave Ice. Location and being in the middle between north and south shore is great.

Yelp
I got married sep 17 2022 this is a late review but better late than never this place is amazing everything was very clean we got an upgrade to our room when on our honeymoon and staying there was an absolute dream me and my husband were very pleased with the whole costumer service and the place , I plan to go back soon and stay in the same hotel that made our honeymoon experience magical

Yelp
This is a great place to stay, but even better if you have an ocean view. The grounds were beautiful, flowers, a tadpole pool, large pool, beach access. Pool towel service was easy to use and long hours, plenty of time to pick up or return- and you could exchange daily if you wanted, we just washed ours nightly as we had washer/dryer. It was really nice to have a washer and dryer in the unit as we didn't have to pack a lot of clothes this trip. There is no hotel shop but right across the street there is 24/7 Safeway, an ABC store, shave ice, pho, subway, Panda Express, Starbucks and several other stores. Amazing sunrise views from the beach. Water was amazingly warm (compared to CA water). Pool was rather cold and we didn't really swim in it, it was neat though- waterfalls, a little grotto under one fall, 2 water slides, sand bottom hot tub and a sand bottom shallow pool. Things that could make the stay better would be, a nightlight or soft light in the bathrooms, a mat upon entering the rooms that helps with the sand on tile- slippery, and the pool a bit warmer to enjoy. Great place to stay and glad to spend a week there.

Yelp
My review is for unit G104. I had booked with Kauai calls. Candace and the team was easy to communicate with. When I had issues with the stove, Candace was quick to get back to me. The unit was beachfront. It had patio dining table and a bistro set in front of the other bedroom which made it wonderful to sit and drink coffee as I watched the sunrise. The unit had everything I needed to cook some meals. There were also boogie boards, beach chairs, cooler, sand toys and umbrella. It was a big plus to have those available instead of renting or buying them. The resort was beautiful. The pool was great. We bqqed one day and the grill was impeccably clean. There is ac and fan in the unit which was very relieving when coming back from the day out.

Yelp
Good location for a resort, centrally located, across the street from Safeway and other restaurants. Easy to get to all sides of the island from here. If you want to save some money on food bring a few spices from home. Our particular room had the bare minimum but I heard a other rooms provided more amenities. Ours was located by the pool room h202. There are 2 grills for use poolside so you can bbq some meats and eat poolside or take back to your room. They provide pool towels that you can change out every day but if you loose it it's a $25 charge.

Cathy O.

Yelp
Room was up to date and spacious, my family loved seeing the beautiful garden outside the window. Kitchen and separate rooms was a necessity while traveling with kids! The pool was amazing - especially for families, it is so big that it never felt crowded. The pool temp was slightly too cool for me, but my kids weren't bothered at all and it could be that we swam in the later afternoon when it was partly cloudy (October). I liked that there was a family hot tub, therefore appropriate temp for little ones to warm up. Great location, loved being next to Safeway/restaurants. Minor complaints: Pillows are really uncomfortable - pack your own! Bed is OK. Also, they have washing machines yet don't supply soap.... and they make you wash your own towels. No daily room service.

Julia D.

Yelp
Waipouli doesn't care. we liked the resort until we went to try and bbq on the provided ones in the pool area and the bbq exploded on my mom and grandma. the access panel flew off and burned my moms leg along with the flames burning them and my foot along with my grandma as well. the resort security called ems and we were treated but after the security was rude and unsympathetic. they acted like it wasn't a big deal and said that it was on us since we refused medical care which is not true since they were treated on scene. the lack of care from staff was just so unprofessional and we have been trying to talk to someone and just keep getting the run around. We were contacted by Candace the owner and she doesn't seem to think it's that big of a deal either. no one has even tried to make sure we are okay. we have excursions planned and tons of money into this trip which now we won't be able to enjoy tahnks to Waipouli and the carelessness of their staff. would not recommend going.

Lorena G.

Yelp
Pros: - pretty central location - 15-25 mins from airport, 35-45 mins from Poipu, 35-50 mins from Hanalei - across the street is Safeway, Starbucks and Ross (shorts, swimwear, etc) - about a mile or two from "downtown" Kapaa where there are restaurants, cafes, shops and food trucks - a couple of small slides at the pool for kiddos - lazy river pool that is no more than 4 feet deep - folks at front office very nice - 2 br suites have living room, kitchen and laundry Cons: - no housekeeping services - no replacement or additional towels; you have to wash the set that's in the room - no room service - beach at the resort is not swimmable - too rocky - our suite had strange noises coming from the ceiling (strange since we were on the top floor) throughout the night and day; maintenance checked on it but couldn't figure it out - pillows are rock hard and I was told all pillows at resort are the same

Christina J.

Yelp
***Beware***Rip off! They charge $80 per night(EXTRA) if you ask for new towels and turnover service....huh?? Then when you're checking out they bill $200 for "Cleaning Service"! Don't make the same mistake I did. Find another hotel

Ben S.

Yelp
Very nice resort with great amenities. The kids loved the pool and the proximity to a small beach. A Safeway is within walking distance so you can stock up on groceries and save (a little) money rather than eating out everyday. Washer and dryer in the unit was super convenient as well.

Brisen G.

Yelp
This was is the worst resort ever!!! For all you people looking into coming to Kauai stay away from this place!! The staff is very rude not friendly at all...!! The pool attend is a POS. The staff at the front desk are very hopeless. Also they have a surprise cleaning fee of 350$. Which is not mention while booking a room. No servers serving food, restaurant is close and when they are open foods is over price a taste like shit.. Basically stay away from this crappy service go find some where you can enjoy your stay without so many dam rules.. Their not even worth a star but I had to click one in order to post my review!! So no stars from me!!! Don't Do it!!!!!

Makayla M.

Yelp
I am currently staying at the Waipouli Beach "Resort." As others have said, this is hardly a resort. $270+ cleaning fee, but the rooms are not cleaned until after we leave! We have to clean our own towels and if you want more, you are charged. The furniture smells like urine and it is extremely outdated. The TV is tiny. Our room also says "partial mountain view" but all I see is a big tree and the parking lot. Also, who the heck thought this piece of foam that doesn't fit the entire bed was a good idea...?!?!

Sue N.

Yelp
First time to Kauai and we are staying at the Waipouli Beach Resorts courtesy of my MIL due diligence in searching for a great spot. The condo itself is beyond spacious for 4 people although set up for many more with a pull out sofa bed. There are two huge king beds that we knocked out on nightly. There are two huge bathrooms and a 3rd bath as well. This place came with all the essentials not only for living but complete with beach chairs, cooler, and beach umbrella. Need to wash clothes? The washing machine/dryer combo worked really well! The grounds have a great pool with two water slides, 3 spas, a lazy riverish and gym. Late night spa visits were great to south the bones. Little different with sand bottoms. The Oasis Restaurant is onsite and has great views. Happy hour is happy along with good food on the dinner menu. Kapaa is a great location and has a lot of stores and restaurants. The 8 mile scenic bike path is just around the corner from this resort... I would not only recommend this resort but I would stay here again.

Yelp
First time on the island and the view from our room is breathtaking just like the entire island. We stayed in room D312 balcony, 1 bedroom 2 bathrooms and a pull out couch that sleeps 2. Has HE washer/dryer, electric stove, toaster and regular coffee maker. If you have the chance I highly recommend.

Fred D.

Yelp
Avoid at all cost. This is the worst "hotel" experience I've ever had. Our washing machine is full of deadly black mold. The elevator safety bar flung off and I went flying down hard. The people at the pool told us we have to wash our own towels. And the front desk claims innocence because "the hoa runs everything." Well the hoa doesn't run the black mold washing machine and our clothes are ruined. I can't move as my back is out from the elevator fall. This hotel is a 2 star piece of crap. Never have I ever been more disappointed and digusted by a property. The reviews that claim this is a 4.5 star are clearly just made up. There's no restaurant for the pool. There's nobody to help with luggage. The beds are hard as rocks and the people working here are rude. I'm writing this to save others from booking this piece of crap full of mold, no help given, elevator back ruining piece of crap hotel.

Yelp
We loved our 8 nights at the Waipouli Beach Resort. The staff in the reception office only works from 9:00-7:00 but they were very friendly and gladly gave us any supplies that we needed except laundry detergent was 2 for a dollar. No maid service. Beautiful well manicured grounds. Everything was very clean. Our 2 bedroom 3 bath condo was exactly as pictured. Comfortable king and queen bed. Strong WiFi. Lots of hot water. Amazing high end appliances (Wolf, Sub Zero, Whirlpool duet washer and dryer). Room was well insulated and quiet. Loved the water slides. Strict Towel exchange. TV's we're good. Close to shopping across the street and many local restaurants nearby. Midway to Hanalei and Poipu. No help after 7:00 at night. Highly recommended. Would love to stay here again. A/C was loud but worked great.

Jerome M.

Yelp
The Waipouli Beach Resort is a well maintained, high quality condo in Kauai. It's centrally located, and the pool area is awesome. We had a family of 6 stay in a 2 bedroom condo, and they also gave us an air mattress so that my kids didn't have to share a bed. The only gripe I have is regarding the outrageous fees they charge. Between the resort and cleaning fee we spent $660 (in addition to the already paid amount) for our 1 week stay.

Emily W.

Yelp
We came here for our honeymoon, and we were both in awe. The resort is breathtakingly beautiful, and the service is wonderful. We love the natural beauty of this place, and we can't wait to come back! If you're looking for a hidden gem to stay at in Kauai, this is it!

Ivaly A.

Yelp
gorgeous property, incredible condos, walk to grocery and into town! (Kapa'a). incredible staff.

Ruth L.

Yelp
Beautiful resort. Friendly staff. Well-appointed and maintained condos operated by Outrigger. Great pool though it's not heated. Fantastic location. It's dumb that they don't allow floaties. Otherwise, excellent!

Angie S.

Yelp
This resort is amazing: conveniently located (walk to restaurants like Coconut's across the street, grocery, etc). Central to the sights and hikes we wanted to do. The beach is nice, the pool is beautiful (waterslides are perfect), three hot tubs with excellent jets and a family-friendly one with slightly lower temp for kids. Our unit, D-102, was quiet, close enough to lobby so that we didn't have a trek to the car with our gear, and overlooked the pool (but quiet!). Our kitchen had every convenience: huge subzero fridge, oversized oven, blender, toaster, toaster oven, dishes, pots/pans/bakeware/trivets/potholders/good knives. Nice, deep sink. Coffee maker. Decor was beautiful. Beds are comfortable. Two and a half baths!!! Nobody in our family of five had to wait! A closet with a cooler, beach toys, umbrella, and woven beach mats. This was a little more $ than we planned to spend, but the added comfort and amenities were worth it. Thank you for a beautiful place to stay!

Shannan B.

Yelp
Beautiful resort with great location. We've stayed here numerous times in the last 8 years both with our children and without. Here's my top tip--rent directly through the resort rather than through vrbo. Either way you still have to pay the resort fee and cleaning fee, but the units rented through the resort have standardized lovely decor (see pictures--every unit we stayed in rented by the resort liked just like this) and they insure it is kept up to date unlike some of the ones rented by individuals. Also, the front desk can help you with your needs if you rent through the waipouli. If you rent with vrbo or any other individual and you have a problem, the front desk cannot help you at all. They don't even have access to your room or the ability to do any maintenance or move you to another room if there is a problem. Like, legally they cannot do a single thing in those rooms. However, we have found them to be very attentive to the very few minor needs we have had when staying at a room that they manage.

Monique A.

Yelp
This is long overdue. We stayed here last year in late October to early November. The hotel itself is beautiful and the pool is awesome. There a lazy river and also a shallow side. There were two water slides. I myself had fun on these. There is also a cave with a waterfall. The food wasn't spectacular. The spa was perfect to sit and relax in. The bottom is filled with rocks the same as the shallow side of the pool. There are grills in this area too. The restaurant onsite was ok. The bar was cool. My fav drink while here was a lava flow(?)delicious!! We stayed on the top floor and had an ocean view. Ugh! So beautiful. Our room was huge! Plenty of space and a big patio. There is a washer and dryer but you'll have to bring your own soaps. The one down side is about the cleaning. You can pay to have them come clean every day or just pay for the end of your visit. At one point we asked if we could at least have someone come vacuum but they wouldn't. Since some these units are owned privately it's up to the owner what they keep here for you. The kitchen had plenty of cups and plates. Be prepared to bring your own essentials. Like toilet paper. We ran out and unbeknownst to us they don't provide this. The front desk kindly gave me a couple of extra rolls. Also you have to rewash any towels you have because they don't provide you with more. There are a few different fees they add but I think we'd stay here again.

Yelp
Yoga on the beach for the second time during my visit- great Instructor who trained in Utah and India. She crafted the class to suit the students needs- one person had NEVER done yoga and she made sure they felt comfortable and safe. The view can't be beat and anyone can show up- MW F S and Sun at 8:30 am- a great deal at $20!

Yelp
I absolutely hate leaving a negative review for a hotel, especially one that comes so highly reviewed in the first place. In fact, I was going to forgo reviewing and just let it pass. But a month later, I am still upset by my stay at Waipouli Beach Resort and feel compelled to share. I stayed at this resort with my husband and two kids in January for 3 nights. The hotel is very conveniently located on the east coast of the island, very close (20 min max) to the airport and in general, we found the location to be quite excellent. There is a large plaza right across the street with supermarket and other stores and restaurant which was quite convenient as well. There was a Starbucks across the street which came in pretty handy as there is no coffee at the hotel. Unfortunately, this is where my positive comments regarding the hotel end. Let's start from the name of the hotel. They call themselves a resort and charge a mandatory resort fee ($25/day), however it is not really a resort. In fact it's just condos for rent, because there really is no front desk, or valet, or lifeguard, or anyone of service. You are on your own the minute you enter the hotel and get a key. The key is a long combination of numbers, and an even longer one to get into the pool area. A combination that one must either learn (unreasonable to learn 10+ numbers) or carry on oneself at all times. We booked a two bedroom, two bathroom suite and I will say that the room was enormous. In fact it actually contained 2.5 bathrooms, which was great. The kitchen was also large and pretty updated, with plenty of equipment. The rest of this condo was however extremely outdated. The furniture was so old and dusty, that I didn't really want to sit on it. The beds were so uncomfortable; our mattress old and lumpy. Because we were originally a party of 5, my kids were to sleep on the fold out couch. I happy that they didn't have to as the couch was pretty disgusting. I did not see any extra linens to make up the couch, perhaps that was needed to be requested. The linens on the beds have seen better days. The pillows extremely large, lumpy and uncomfortable. The towels thin and scratchy. The floors were dirty, I had some shoes that rolled under the bed only to come out covered with dust. Overall this was extremely disappointing as the hotel was not exactly cheap. In addition to that, charged a ridiculous cleaning fee, which I believe was $275. With that said, the condo is not actually cleaned during your stay. We used the washer, which was a very nice front-loader to wash the towels once. The washer smelled of mold. Detergent had to be purchased at the front, just like everything else including coffee! We did have a spacious balcony, which was left unused as the view was that of a parking lot, road and shopping plaza across the street. Most disappointing was the shower situation. The bathrooms were actually large and very nice. We made a mistake of running a hot tub on one of the days, this left us with no hot water to shower with. The next day, without any overuse of hot water, I realized that the shower still ran out of hot water by the time it was my turn. The property was large and would have been beautiful has it been updated. The pool area was extremely old with a rusted fence surrounding it. They did have a water slide which my kids enjoyed quite a bit. The towels were given out at the pool and signed under the room, and this was sort of a hassle. There was no beach to speak of. Not sure why the property is called "Beach Resort". There was a beachfront but not equipped for sun-bathing or swimming. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with our stay and would never recommend the property for the price that they charge. I think my photos would speak for themselves.

Yelp
Be sure to read the fine print for additional resort fees when booking through Costco as you will end up paying much more than the package price. It's borderline false advertisement. Cons: Issues with the resort itself included poor room maintenance, room reeked of cigarette smoke, dryer did not work properly, and bedding/pillows smelt of body odor. The outdoor BBQs temperature gauges were all broken. The Access code for the pool is too long and unnecessary. You are given a very limited number of towels to use and will end up using pool towels as room towels, which are also limited per room/day. The Location is close to a busy area in town and sirens are frequently heard. Zero condiments or cooking spices/oils, only dishes. Beach is very small and lacks functional lounge chairs and not great for swimming. No sunset. Pros: Oasis restaurant has awesome food and the best Mai Tais you'll have on the island. Pool is also great for kids and offers 2 adult only hot tubs. Plenty of comfortable lounge chairs as well. Resort is centrally located on the island and within walking distance to grocery stores/shopping centers.

Yelp
We stayed here for a week in January renting a 2-bedroom condo in one of the 8 buildings in this large complex. Many of the units are rented privately, like ours, by owner, and others seem to be rented by a management firm. Our unit was on the second floor in build F (each building had 4 floors) making it easy to just use the stairs to come and go. The unit was well equipped with a king bed in one room, a queen in the other and a pull-out sofa sleeper. It was perfect for our family of 4. The condo complex seemed new and it was very well tended. The very large pool had 2 small water slides, several large swimming areas, a small shallow pool with a pebbly bottom for little kids and 2 large hot tubs - one reserved just for adults. Towels were provided as part of the rental and you could exchange them each day of the stay down by the pool. Their was a small beach just behind the pool and we even saw an endagered Monk Seal one day waddle up for a rest on the beach. The staff is super friendly and constantly cleaning to keep everything nice. There is even a concierge in the lobby if you want any help making plans for dinner or excursions. All in all we had a very nice stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. Being on the east side of the island was nice too as it meant we were "half-way" to the sights on the north or sights on the south and there were 2 large grocery stores literally acorss the street making it easy to have a few meals in the condo.

Yelp
Class act! Great suite (D-402), nice beach, outrageous pool and right in the area where "the action" is. The accommodations are above average and we couldn't ask for a better time. Great place for families! We booked through Vrbo/Hawaii Life.

Yelp
I went to the swimming pool one day on my trip, I was playing with a small ball in the pool when a concierge yelled, and stole my ball. Also I am reporting unhelpful service. I was trying to make a room to room call, and the phone seemed out of service. the front desk said it's hours were 8am through 5pm, so I went around 9am, and there was nobody working at the desk. I would never recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Fabulous place. One of the nicest condo resorts we've seen. Modern, air conditioned, well furnished apartments. Lagoon pool with a kids and baby area. Two jacuzzis. We shopped and found the best rental company was Kauai Calls - Candice@CertifiedHawaii.com Very convenient grocery and restaurants across the street. Excellent Farmer's market nearby on Wednesdays. Local items you don't see on CONUS. Price varies by view. G206 was full oceanfront. We'll be back.

Yelp
We booked our family trip through Costco. Amazing resort and staff. Our room was huge and beautiful. Some of the staff at the onsite restaurant (Oasis) were a bit rude. Surprised because the food is very expensive and we always left a generous tip. I thought my food was average while others did not like theirs much. It was convenient though. We did do a mothers day breakfast and everyone enjoyed their food then. Hard to mess up breakfast though. The beach is just feet away. The warm soft sand and water is the perfect way to spend the day. We will definitely be back! We will most likely skip the restaurant though.

Yelp
Our condo was very nice, spacious and initially had all of the essentials(more on that later). Full kitchen, living room, patio, 1 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, laundry room, & 2 tvs. The location is prime being right on the beach and we loved seeing the sunrise every morning. I don't like swimming in the ocean so it didn't bother me that there's no swimming allowed but you can lounge along the shore. The service at the restaurant was always on point and friendly...happy hour was a steal! The pool and jacuzzi were nice, well maintained and never too crowded. Now on to the negative...there is no turnover service like you would receive at any basic hotel and they market themselves as a "luxury resort." They of course charge extra if you run out of anything. You don't get any refills on coffee in your room-they charge you a buck a refill. I'd rather go buy a $5 Starbucks every day since they're so damn greedy. You even have to wash your own towels. The cleaning fee was freaking outrageous and considering their was no turnover service it just stung even further. Close to $200 for a service hotels/resorts include in the original price was just so ridiculous. Not to mention my husband and I are some of the cleanest people on the planet and the maids were probably stoked to come across our tidy room. Just be aware of all of the hidden fees should you choose to stay here. 1. daily resort fee 2. turnover service($80/day but could be more depending on size) 3. coffee $1/pack(not sure why this bothers me so much but it really does haha) 4. cleaning fee($175) I feel as though they market themselves in a deceitful fashion and I would have chosen a different resort in the area had I known about all the fees. Overall, my husband and I had an amazing trip and tried to overlook the irritating policies that WBR has instilled into their business practice.

Yelp
We spent 7 days here and booked through www.KauaiCalls.com and stayed in F401. The condo was well equipped and our views were fantastic! We never did need any servicing from the front desk or anything of the sort. We enjoyed our time in the pool and hot tubs and our food at Oasis. Parking was plentiful as well. We did order food and drinks on the website while we were pool side, it would be nice if they would show the menu or have a kiosk to be able to order food as we don't always carry on phones to the pool. We loved the location of the resort here and found it probably the best on the island in terms of geographic location. The beach was nice and not over crowded as well. The staff that we did encounter were friendly and helpful. The resort was clean and beautiful overall! We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Perfect resort for our family of five. Our little ones loved the pool, water slides, sandy splash pool and kids hot tub. They also loved feeding the koi fish on Sunday and Thursday mornings (8:30 am if you're interested). The gym was not huge but had all the cardio machines and a decent selection of weight machines and dumbbells. There was also ice cold filtered water in the gym, which was convenient when sitting by the pool. This isn't a huge resort, so there was no pool side service and it's not unlimited towels...you can have a max of 6 per day. Not unreasonable in my opinion, but if you're going between beach and pool in one day, you have to plan accordingly. This sits very close to the Kapaa running/bike path which takes you to Lydgate Beach to the south and to Kapaa Beach Park and Kealia Beach Park to the north. Our unit (D104) was right next to the lobby with a garden/pool view. Two large bedrooms, both with large ensuite bathrooms. One bedroom had a king and the other had one king and one queen sized bed. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and there's a Safeway, Starbucks and ice cream shop across the street. We rented with VRBO and it was managed by Kauai Exclusive. They they let us stay in the until until our red eye flight (free of charge) and we felt it was a good way to call it even since our dishwasher was broken for three days of our stay.

Yelp
Holy ridiculous resort fees, Batman!!! I'm literally staying here for 2 nights, paid 1100$....then they add another $300 in resort fees. Are you frickin' kidding me? I have a basic room, one bed, no car(luckily, cuz who knows what that would have cost!) I know this is a minimal concern, but they don't even frickin' have 'do not disturb' signs. There's no bath tub. I was so looking forward to taking a long relaxing bath. When I tried checking in at 8pm.... There was no one at the desk. I tried calling to no avail. Finally, some employee walked walked through and noticed me and this other family looking exhausted and annoyed. He went and got security, so we could check in....which doesn't actually mean check in, as I had to go to registration the next day to check in....and be charged that extra $300 for no damn reason... cleaning fee? What is this; bullshit Airbnb? I can't even screen mirror my phone to tv when I want to veg out and watch my Netflix. I know this may seem like an entitled post, but I'm just an average nurse trying to get off the big island for a weekend and it cost me well over my mortgage. Like damn, guys. This place ain't that damn fancy to be charging this much.

Yelp
We spent our baby moon at Waipouli Beach Resort and Spa and had the most memorable experience. Our condo was fully stocked with high end appliances and very spacious. The onsite staff was friendly and provided excellent customer service during our stay. The location of this resort is ideal! Safeway across the street! We stocked up on snacks, breakfast and lunch and enjoyed our evenings at one of the many nearby restaurants (our favorite was Bull Shed & Hukilau Lanai). We did not rent a car and did not need one as everything we needed was walking distance from the resort. The walking path along the beach was treat for evening walks and casual strolls along the beach. The monk seals rested on the sand directly outside the resort which was a treat to see. We rented the beach cruiser bikes from the onsite spa which was very convenient and HIGHLY recommend riding on the bike path (they have a map and will direct you). 7 miles along the ocean with historical spots and little private beaches, a must do! A couple afternoons we enjoyed the onsite pool and water slides. I would have LOVED to soak in one of the 3 hot tubs, but that's not as option being pregnant. Overall, we give our trip a 5 star experience. We will be back. Thank you

Yelp
Our unit was amazing. We had an oceanfront unit and the few bucks difference it cost was well worth it. My ONLY complaint was that a few times the elevator went out and we had to use the stairs but even that wasn't the end of the world. I had one issue with the app while ordering poolside drinks but we solved it. Parking was great. The unit was modern and clean as well as stocked with enough stuff to get you started. Balcony's were clean and outdoor chairs were maintained. Was cool to see the seals on the beach every other day. Honestly, I don't visit places twice often but I will be back to kauai. We loved our stay.

Yelp
Pretty darn disappointed in this place. Three stars because it is on the beach, and the size of the room is fair for the price. Otherwise, there are a lot of hidden problems. Let's start from the beginning. We were a group of 14 with four rooms in Kauai for 7 nights, 5 of which we chose to stay here upon a family friends request. We were initially impressed with the gardens and pool, however quickly irked by the fact that "check-in at 3" became 3:30, and then 4 as we waited for them to clean the room. When we finally went to check in and got to our room, my bag wasn't there. On the last family trip, my luggage missed its flight so I had war flashbacks and that automatically set us off on the wrong foot. We went down to let the desk clerk know and her response was "uh oh, that's not good." No ma'am, it isn't. They informed us it was probably placed in the wrong room (cool) and they'd "try" to find it. I paced our hotel for a good 30 minutes until it arrived. The pool was nice. It sits along the beach and would have a great view if there wasn't a tiny restaurant smack dab in the middle of the two. But the beach (unswimmable) is beautiful, and really right there. We were yelled at in the pool area a few times. First for sliding down the slides tandem or head first (they were baby slides and we had 12+ kids and full adult men sliding on them, and nobody was being rambunctious or irresponsible.) Then for playing music in the hottub at 7 PM because guests might not prefer it. Our response was that we are guests and we preferred it. If they didn't want us to play music perhaps they could play their own? One thing that was AWESOME was that while we were in the hottub we were offered a freshly seared ahi that was caught that day. I don't know if the guy that gave it to us was a guest or a worker but it was the best most perfectly seasoned ahi I've ever eaten and it made our bellies happy. One of the bathtubs in our two bedroom suite did not plug, which was a huge bummer. It was also just kind of generally peeling which is never nice in a bathtub. Also, the elevator and stair well smelled really funky and it was hard to breathe. The other negative thing was when we booked a reservation for our entire party at the restaurant in the hotel, they originally told us they would have no problem accommodating us, and then they tried to sit us a four separate tables. When we asked to push them together, they said yes but that they then wouldn't be able to split the check, even if we all sat with our families bunched together. It took about 20 minutes of restaurant reasoning to get the guy to agree to split the checks four ways as if the tables just weren't connected. For someone whose worked in the restaurant industry it was really frustrating to have this guy fighting us for what felt like no reason instead of just working it out.

Yelp
We were looking for a condo/resort that had units with full kitchens, but also had amenities like on-site restaurant, exercise room, and resort-style pools. Waipouli was a great option for Kauai, and I think really the only one of its kind. We are a family of 4, including two girls aged 3 and 6. We stayed for one week at the end of October 2016. Pools The pools were really great. Our girls (3 & 6) loved the slides and hot tubs most of all. The pools was always very clean. They had a great sand-bottom play area for little kids, and the availability of both family and adult hot tubs was a nice feature. They had a pretty easy check-out process for towels at the pool, and the towels were of nice quality. There are a few little waterfalls on the "lazy river" area of the pools. One has a grotto you can sit in. There's no current to the river portion, so you can't just float around on a tube. Lots of beach chairs and tables to sit at. The pools were not well heated, if at all. Not so bad once you get moving, but definitely an initial shock. Cleanliness I found that the resort was very well kept up. They cleaned the pools extensively every morning, and power washed the pool deck at least once when we were there. Rooms We rented D404 which was awesome. It was almost dead-center of the resort and on the top level. Highly recommend this unit. The woman who manages the unit was very nice to work with. The unit came with everything we needed, including beach and pool equipment. Would have been nice to have some kid-friendly plates and silverware. We otherwise had pretty much everything we needed for cooking in the unit. We had a two-bedroom unit. The bathrooms were very nice and one had a shower where you could look out toward the ocean while showering which was really cool. The lanai off the bedroom was nice-sized and great to watch sunrises from. Our room was very quiet and dark at night which meant we slept well. Air conditioning worked very well, but often not needed because of the nice breeze most of the day. Retail As others have stated, it was great to have a Safeway right across the street. The Starbucks in that center was good, and there was a great little ice cream place as well. The Safeway does have a Redbox for renting movies. There are a lot of really good little restaurants nearby. Highly recommend Kauai Pasta, Java Kai (great coffee and pastries), and Verde. Weather Even though the weather report shows rain every day, we only really got rained on one of our seven days there. It can be windy there, but we never really found it as an inconvenience. It was sometimes nice to take some of the heat off. You don't get sunsets on the east side of Kauai, but you get great sunrises. On-Site We rented our unit via VRBO, although you can rent via Outrigger, the hotel owner. There is not much of a "front desk" area. It seems like you're mostly on your own. There was a check-in area for Outrigger guests, and I think a separate one for renters, but we did not check it out. The exercise room was nice. A couple of treadmills, a bike, and a couple of ellipticals, plus weight equipment. They had towels and water available in the room, as well as two TVs for watching on the treadmills. There is a great running/biking/walking trail that you pick up a few blocks north of the resort. It goes out about 4 miles all the way up to Donkey Beach. It's paved and wide the whole time. Really nice. Beautiful coast views and lots of places to stop along the way. Restaurant The Oasis is well situated right at the beachfront. We enjoyed the food, both breakfast and lunch. They had a limited, but tasty menu for the kids. I was a little underwhelmed by the mixed drinks. A bit pricey for what you get, but it's nice to have the option on the resort. There is not true poolside service from the restaurant. You can order and they'll walk it over to the gate, but they don't have the code to get in so you have to go pick it up. Minor inconvenience. Food and drink are allowed poolside. Beach We never went to the beach at the resort. Shoreline is pretty steep and the waves are pretty rough. Plus there's a coral bottom, so it's not great for swimming. However, within a short drive there are lots of great beaches so it wasn't a concern. Property In terms of general upkeep, the whole resort was nice. At the time, they were removing some damaged stucco on the units and repainting. We weren't in a unit getting repaired, so it didn't impact us. Can imagine it would have been inconvenient if done to our unit or nearby. It's situated very close to the airport, and really well located for day trips around the island. Overall highly recommend this resort when staying on Kauai, particularly with families.

Yelp
Probably one of the worst "resorts" i have stayed in. The customer service is complete trash and not helpful at all. Everyone in the front really just likes to point fingers and it really makes the experience a total regret. The only upside is the view. The price for everything else really not worth it at all.

Yelp
Waipouli Beach resort is a beautiful resort with one major flaw, THE POOL AND POOL STAFF! The pool is advertised as a lazy river, but is NOT! It is certainly shaped like a lazy river, but there isn't any flow for you to float down "the river". And I might add, you are not allowed to have flotation devices, balls, or any sort of pool toys in the pool. If you do bring any of the above mentioned, or accidentally break a pool rule, THE STAFF, is instantaneously there to rudely reprimand you, to the point of embarrassment. The pool is basically there for you to get in and walk around. If you are looking for a pool to enjoy and have fun in, LOOK ELSEWHERE!

Juan M.

Yelp
Beautiful views of the ocean and awesome rooms. We got a one bedroom with ocean views. Room had a kitchen, large bathroom, king size bed, washer and dryer. Resort has a large pool, a gym and amazing restaurant on site.

Laurie M.

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised to have found this gem. The staff is amazing, helpful, friendly & go above and beyond. There was nothing we needed beyond the resort. There is a bar, a restaurant, a spa, a shop with convenient & rental items, a fitness center, a yoga instructor on the beach, a pool, family hot tub, adult hot tub, water slides, a lazy river, baby pool with a sand bottom, grills, a snack shack, plenty of lounge chairs. OMG; the rooms are modern, fully equipped, roomy and clean. I wish we could find a resort like this wherever we travel.

Yelp
Stayed for two nights entourage to Honolulu. Hotel is conveniently located in Kapaa. Safeway and Star Bucks is across the street. We had a studio and thought it was furnished with a kitchen but it was not. Only refrig and microwave oven and coffee maker. No daily room service. Coffee refills can be bought at front desk For mandatory $25 daily report fee and $165 cleaning fee is a steep considering you get no service at all. Will stay elsewhere the next time

Yelp
This was a nice vacation getaway for me and my family. Pool was nice and spacious, loved the slides, the tiles were just this oddly dark blue turning the pool into a blue-raspberry-like color. That was fine though, liked that there were towels that we could take (up to 6 towels a day). Rooms were nice and big, we had a two bedroom and three bathroom condo. One room had a king sized bed, the other with two queens. Fit my family of five comfortably. Love that the beach is nearby, just slightly windy and cold as we went in the spring. One other complaint though, was that the wi-fi was have issues. My family and I used the correct wi-fi as directed on an instruction sheet given to us by reception, and carefully entered the password multiple times. Either the password was wrong or the wi-fi just refused to connect. Either way, cellular data was slow as well. Overall though, like this hotel. Recommend staying here if you have a family vacation in Kauai.
