My recent stay at Waira Suites Hotel in Leticia was unfortunately disappointing. The booking process was initially problematic due to their website continually crashing, forcing me to use Booking.com instead.
Upon arrival, the check-in was smooth, and the staff appeared friendly. However, the room I was assigned was less than ideal. Positioned at the end of the hotel in a dark corner, it featured a window facing the hallway rather than the outside, which was less than welcoming.
Given its reputation as one of the better hotels in Leticia, my expectations were moderate. Nevertheless, the room’s basic amenities and noticeable wear and tear were underwhelming. The major issue, however, was the construction work happening during my stay. Workers were painting a mural by the pool and in the hallways close to my room, working throughout the night. They were not only loud but also played music at high volumes well into the early hours (3 AM), significantly disrupting my sleep. Despite lodging complaints, the noise continued without resolution.
Additionally, during checkout, there was no apology offered for the disturbances, and the hotel was unable to organize a taxi for me, resulting in further inconvenience.
For these reasons, I cannot recommend Waira Suites Hotel. The lack of consideration for guest comfort and poor handling of service disruptions significantly detracted from what could have been a pleasant stay. Stay tuned for my next review, where I’ll share a fantastic alternative just a few roads down from this location.
