Waitomo Lodge

This lodge was used as an overnight to visit the caves nearby. Great value for money. Clean and spacious rooms. Yes, train is noisy but that’s what ear muffs are for. It can happen with noisy neighbours. The town is suffering as most are with empty shops but hotel outside this area and felt safe. Car park numbered for your room, which helps when you return late.

Our room was dated but clean. Loved the bathroom has been updated obviously on a budget but water pressure in shower was great and bathroom was clean. Was good value for money. Location was good for us as straight out onto highway to where we needed to go.

The motel is located on the highway on the northern end of town. Our riverside studio room was at the back along the rail line. It was older style with a high sloping roof, small kitchenette with a microwave but without a sink and cooking facilities, wardrobe, desk and a couple of lounge chairs. We also had a private balcony. The TV had Sky channels and the Wi-Fi worked well. The bathroom was compact with a shower without a door and no soap holder which was annoying. You could hear traffic from the highway and the odd train coming through, so we slept with ear plugs which did the trick. We received free bottled water and chocolates on arrival which were appreciated. Parking is available in dedicated spots.

Clean, tidy, spacious room. Aircon was the great, efficiently cooled the room. Made sleeping a breeze. Gave 4 stars as there was a slight odour of cigarettes and I don't smoke. Will stay again.

I’ve stayed here multiple times over the last year or so. Spacious rooms, has a heater and air conditioning. Great location. & special shout out to Jinah for being incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful :) I highly recommend this place!

The motel unit was comfortable but maybe showers need to be able to be adjusted. Also night lighting was not the best as one of our party tripped on the parking barriers and fractured her wrist. There was no First Aid kit handy either. Owner was very pleasant though and assisted us. Beds comfortable and lots of hot water. Lights under eaves need improving especially at night. Service was good though.

Easy check-in, staff are easily contactable. If you are arriving after front desk hours, just give them a call. Easily instructions will be given.Room is spacious. TV has the lodge's netflix account, so you may want to check in early :))Only concern is door lock is one-way, recommend owner to consider better locks since right outside of the room door is the car park.

Wow, what a surprise this was! Just wanted a stop for the night; honestly, the walk to the until looked like we were staying in a storage unit; but as soon as we were through the door opened the unit opened out. Lovely , full of light - high ceilings gave a sense of space as did the enormous glass wall at the back. Clean, comfortable. Kitchen utensils were scarce but adequate with a bit of creativity. Bed was comfortable. (The train did go past, but it wasn't loud - just a lovely clackety-clack)
