6 grueling hours by boat from Sorong, on a sea that can be choppy, at 25 Knot /hour, that's a bumpy ride.....Fortunately we split the trip in two, and spent a night mid way. That place is better than anything we can watch on insta. Nature does not need any editing here. We can't edit something perfect. The colors are almost too real to be true, the environment is still pristine, although it's slowly becoming a popular destination...the distance from Sorong will keep it preserved a few more years hopefully..... transparent water, white sandy bottom, you can scan through the sea from top to bottom just by looking from the boat deck. The karstic mounts look like popcorn on the emerald sea, popcorn covered with green vegetation. It's incredible and only aerial pictures can truly reveal the awesomeness of this place. If magic is a place, then here it is.

Wayag is just BEAUTIFUL! A place that naturally preserved and very preserved! If you like to be with nature, this place is the one. I climb 2 hills ('Wayag 1' & 'Wayag 2'), I recommend shoes, gloves and guides, if you have a story of asthma or easily out of breath, don't go. The hill is covered with coral stone, dangerous if you are not capable. But again the view is AMAZING! If you think you can go, then go, if not, just don't.

Paradise, found If your dream is to experience a tropical paradise that's still largely untouched by people, your next travelling destination should be Wayag Island seen here. It's part of the Raja Ampat district in the province of West Papua, Indonesia. Most of the roughly 50,000 inhabitants of this district live on or around its four main islands, Batanta, Misool, Salawati, and Waigeo. The remainder of Raja Ampat is made up of roughly 1,500 smaller islands, cays, and shoals – astonishingly, hundreds of these tiny islands have yet to be explored by humans. Divers and snorkelers, especially, treasure Raja Ampat and its vast and diverse reef system, which is considered one of the most biodiverse places in the world. Located roughly seven miles above the equator, Raja Ampat covers nearly 10 million acres of land and sea, and is home to 540 types of corals, more than 1,000 types of coral reef fish, 700 types of mollusks, and a variety of warm-blooded marine animals like the dugong. The ecosystem, which is part of a larger tropical ocean area called the Coral Triangle, is so diverse it's sometimes referred to as the 'the Amazon of the seas.' © Amazing Aerial Agency/Offset by Shutterstoc
