Wakakusa Curry

Honestly - it’s so hard to find restaurants that cater to both meat eaters and vegans, and the vegan option is actually good!! But that sesame curry on the right is one of the best curries I’ve ever had. No lie!! It was so delicious!! The spinach curry on the left was also very tasty, but I definitely preferred the sesame. It was so rich, creamy, umami, yummy-ness. The veggies were ok! I was absolutely delighted they had plant-based soft serve so I had to try the matcha ice cream. It was great, not bitter at all and actually nice and balanced. I thought it kind of tasted like white chocolate actually. Fast service too and very affordable. Loved this gem in Nara if you’re in a pickle and you need to cater to a variety of dietaries, they have it all and it’s delicious.

You had me at Dairy Free matcha ice cream and GF Japanese style curry. They did not disappoint. You order on an ipad, which I like. You can indicate if you want your ice cream during or after the meal.

The curry was absolutely delicious — both the vegetarian and the regular versions. The table service was excellent, and it was very convenient to pay with Apple Pay. I’ve been to this place several times, and every time I visit Nara, I always come back. Highly recommended!

Delicious curry. I ordered the lamb and spinach curry. The spinach curry however was the star. Make sure to try it if you are here. Tables include outlets to charge and wifi included!

Pork Katsu curry was very tasty, along with the omelet curry. The standard rice serving they include is a bit small I should recommend getting large rice with your order. We were lucky and didn't have to wait long to be seated, when we left at around 2:00PM there was a line out the door. Expect to wait a while to eat.

10/10 vegetarian curry, added two eggs, decreased rice amount to half. Really glad they had fresh vegetables on top. My partner ordered pork Katsu curry. We both agreed that this meal is somewhere in the top meals of our trip. Highly recommend!

We came here in December 2024 and after a day of being harassed and mugged by the local deers for my deer crackers, we came over here to fill our belly's. The toppings and range of different curry dishes was great and I appreciated the customisability. Overall some really good curry and great staff. You can pretty much order by yourself on their tablets.
