For my second visit here already, aside the very competitive value, the smooth service and that happening street vibe, it's that one word. Location, location, location. If you need to fly Narita early tomorrow, then here's the best choice tonight. The hotel is located on an attraction street, with a historic, picturesque big shinto shrine just across the road, and that very viral, youtube featured Unagi shop, also just across the same road just next door. So you have plenty of options. If you dunno what-to-do even if it's a very short overnight layover just off Narita, consider here. Quaint historic shops shopping and binge eating aside. Just the Onsen soaking beats uncomfy airport sleep or dry waiting at Narita. Yes, Onsen here is 24 ours. Ok, what about the hotel? On your check in, the reception staff on duty, do spot flawless English and in general the most efficient check in procedure you can imagine. Check, sign and go. You will be off to your room or Onsen within 5 minutes. The hotel establishment, while it look very traditional and old from the outside, is actually very well renovated and modern on the inside; including a good lift, bright corridors, convenient and thoughtful facilities such as hot water, tea, snacks and of course the 24hour Onsen! The rooms are comfortable and of a very nice size, and you get all the amenities of a modern hotel from plugs, TV channels, well stocked fridge, WiFi, vanity to shavers and toothbrushes! Yet the ryokan amenities, futon, ocha, yukata, bath towel, socks and stuffs, you will find familiar. Just on the same street, there are plenty of traditional shop houses with nice picture opportunities and plenty of sourvenirs. As a very popular tourist street right next to Narita Airport, be prepared for plenty of tourists both local and foreigners especially during peak hours, and of course, weekends and holidays. Here's the catch. During Saturdays, Sundays, Public Holidays and local holidays, the incoming route into the ryokan, the shopping street will be closed to cars until 5pm. Also on its exact Google spot, there are no listed hotel car park at all. And nobody tells you that upfront until you check in. The official hotel's free overnight carpark is around a good two turns away, a good 15 minutes walk. It can be tricky if you are travelling alone, having many luggages or maybe physically inconvenienced. But if you're coming with friends, please plan your arrival. Do a quick drop of your luggages in hotel front and drive on to the free designated parking afterwards. It will then be a breeze. Check out day should also be easier if you're all paid and sorted. Just drop keys and go. Onsen after check out is still free if you have time to spare.
