Wake Up! Byron Bay

I absolutely loved this hostel! It has a beautiful vibe, especially around the pool, where chilled music creates a relaxing atmosphere. The poolside bar makes it easy to meet new people, adding to the social experience. The location is perfect—right on the beach—and getting to the city center is convenient with a shuttle bus or a 20-minute walk. The staff was amazing, always friendly and helpful. Plus, the Happy Travels office on-site was great for optimizing holiday plans. The option to rent surfboards and bikes is a fantastic touch, making the stay even more special.

I didn’t really get the hype of this hostel. It’s nicely located on the beach but otherwise felt very average. Compared to hostels in Asia it felt very basic with just a metal frame bunk bed, no privacy curtains etc. Rooms were only clean on the surface - always sand / hair everywhere, kitchen was only clean first thing in the morning, the staff doing the cleaning don’t really care. Also after 10pm the kitchen / bar were both shut so nowhere to get water from. The vibe was very cliquey and very young. Staff on reception were always super friendly and helpful though and it was decent to get a fresh towel daily.

A great hostel with clean rooms and good amenities. Right on the beach and they have a free surfboard hire. The pool and bar is a really good vibe. Special shout out to Chelsea who was so friendly and attentive during my stay :)

This hostel in Byron Bay is a hidden gem! Just a short walk from the beach, it offers a relaxed, positive vibe. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, always ready with great tips. The rooms are clean and well maintained, and the atmosphere makes it easy to unwind or meet fellow travellers. Perfect for a chill beach getaway!

Wake up! Is the best hostel in town! No lies. It’s a beautiful secluded location right on a quieter part of Byron Bay beach. They have yoga in the mornings and events on each day. The staff are smiley, friendly and super helpful so you feel right at home. Rooms are chic and clean as are kitchen and hang spaces. But what your really paying for is the overall vibe of happy fun outgoing travellers and laid back beach vibes, it’s really the best place to get to know what Byron bay is all about as a travellers. Lots of love to the staff and people I met here ❤️🙌🏽✨

Would recommend this hostel. Super social, perfect location right by the beach. Staff really friendly. Lots of activities too to meet new people. I had my own bedroom so can’t comment on the shared dorms but the room was lovely, daily cleaning. All the facilities were clean. Very slightly outdated but beachy vibe. Was here for a week!

Best hostel ever! We absolutely loved our stay here, can’t beat being a 15 second walk to the beach. Super sociable and loads of fun free things to do, especially free surfboard hire.

I‘ve been in the hostel for two weeks and I absolutely loved it! Chill camping vibes, relaxing under palm trees and dips in the pool. Also, I joined the beach walk event on Mondays to the lighthouse multiple times. And it was amazing every single time! It‘s guided by a lovely guy called Adam and he gives his absolute best to make it a special walk for every individual! The walk goes along the beach, stops at beautiful viewpoints, inculdes a refreshing coffee & swimming break in between and ends at the lighthouse with a fascinating view all over Byron Bay.
