Such a great hostel. The location was amazing right at the beach. The free bus going every hour into the city was also great! It is one of the best hostels i’ve stayed in! Loved the vibe. The facilities was really clean and modern and the staff was nice and friendly. There were a lot of activities like yoga in the morning and quizzes in the evening. Very social hostel. Highly recommend!

I’ve never reviewed before however I’d feel like I should for my 3 night stay at Byron bay wake up hostel Over all experience was great. Great location, staff and complex. The free hiring of surfboards is a great touch and you surf with it a stones throw. There are however three tiny and easily implementable improvements I really hope they read and improve on. 1. They have to trim/cutdown the one tree that blocks out all sunbathable sun light from the pool and lounging area from 2 pm onwards 2. Please put little slide curtains on lower beds, extremely easy and inexpensive for privacy 3. Get a bigger shuttle bus. They do a brilliant shuttle service on the hour that takes you in to Byron town but they can only take 11 people at a time so we were having to wait 30 mins at the stop for them to relay groups

Loved this hostel. It’s literally steps from the beach, which was amazing. The facilities are super clean, modern, and well looked after. The vibe is really chill but still social — I met great people during the morning yoga sessions and at the wine & cheese night. The shared room was comfy, had good air con, and big lockers. Each bed has its own power outlet and light, which I really appreciated. The staff were super friendly and helpful from day one. I also loved the free surfboards and bikes, and the shuttle to town is a nice bonus if you don’t feel like walking. There’s also a bar next door with live music most nights — always something going on.

Quite average. The main selling point is the staff, who are all very friendly and polite. Main issue is the distance into town. This was longer than advertised on Hostelworld and is really difficult to walk with no streetlights and pavements in most places, as well as being across train tracks. I’ve been practising yoga for 4 years and the free morning yoga class was the strangest I’ve ever been to. It seemed like more of a fusion of yogilates and I would’ve preferred something more relaxing for a beach holiday. The mats also smelt badly of stale sweat, which made it uncomfortable to do many of the poses lying down. Whilst the yoga teacher seemed passionate about his craft, I’m not sure the singing at the end had the intended effect on myself and my friend.

I stayed here for three nights after arriving from Sydney. The hostel is in a great location if you prefer a slightly more rural feel. It's a 20 minute walk into town but only a 1 minute walk to the beach. The staff are really nice and the facilities are great. Unfortunately when we went there (June 2025) were renovations which made the common space and kitchen smaller but it was still great!

Lovely hostel, pool is fantastic, the rooms are clean, kitchens were really spacious with plenty of space for everyone. I loved my stay here! Only thing is there was a lot of sand everywhere in the hostel! Overall I’d recommend to everyone!

Very good hostel. Comfortable rooms, nice pool & bar. We did their trivia night there which was fun! It’s a bit out of the town center but they run a very regular free shuttle service and the hostel is also right next to the beach so can’t fault the location. Only downside was there was not much common space since there were renovations going on but that’s meant to finish in a few weeks so no big deal

Excellent hostel. Perfect vibes. Pool is super chill and right by the beach. The walk to main beach is gorgeous, or there’s a shuttle if you like. Activities are great fun as they’re not too party. The private room was total luxury. Would 100% stay again.
