Value based hotel, fine for 1-night solo stay. The room was clean, quiet and had basic necessities, and the location is great. However, I would not stay longer than 1-2 nights due to the overall limited experience. The bathroom supplies are very basic- hand soap and shower gel only. The AC is a bit loud, and the pillow has seen better days. Breakfast is simple but fine for one day, would not purchase it for additional days. The lounge area was under renovation and it smelled like sewage. The more inconvenient for a hotel is that there are stairs at the entrance and you need to carry your suitcases up until you can actually reach the elevator - that makes no sense for a hotel. And luggage storage is paid, no option for it to be stored at the reception. The room if affordable, but to extra add-ons of breakfast, luggage, toiletries I would have gotten a better place at the same price.

The room could be a little more tidy and cleaned. It was not big but sufficient. The breakfast buffet is good and not expensive, for the price you got nothing in this area. We tried but failed one time. It is direct at the train station but very quiet. The beds are good. The city Center is not even 5 minutes away and a mall is direct connected around the corner. For a 2-3 night stay I can absolute recommend it.

We were deeply impressed by the genuine kindness and eagerness to help shown by every staff member. Coupled with the hotel's spotless condition, the service made our stay truly comfortable. A special note of thanks to the efficient housekeeping crew. Our room was spacious, beautifully maintained, and impressively quiet thanks to the great soundproofing. Breakfast was a real treat—fresh, tasty, and with plenty of options to choose from. Highly recommended! The Wakeup Aarhus offers a superb blend of comfort, pristine cleanliness, and outstanding value for money.

Wakeup Aarhus is not a very customer-friendly hotel. I arrived early around 10am and was surprised to be charged for luggage storage. With heavy luggage, I had to deal with multiple staircases just to reach reception, the elevator, and the luggage storage room, which was very inconvenient. When I asked the reception if there was a cheaper luggage storage option nearby, I was told there wasn’t one. However, I later found much cheaper storage at Aarhus Railway Station, which I ended up using for both check-in and check-out days. This completely disrupted my day. Instead of starting my city tour smoothly, I had to spend time and energy dealing with luggage logistics and going back and forth with heavy bags. I was also promoted to pay extra for early check-in and a higher-floor room, which was unnecessary for me and felt more like upselling than assistance. The Wi-Fi was poor and kept disconnecting. The only positive point is the hotel’s location near the railway station. For transparency, photos are attached (Photos 1–3: Wakeup Aarhus; Photos 4–5: Aarhus Railway Station) comparing luggage storage charges as of 28 December 2025.

I had a great stay at the hotel. Room was clean, and it's quite despite being right next to a street and the central station. The bathroom is really unique but big enough for one person.

Overall a nice budget hotel well located. Rooms are small but cozy - ok for 1-2 nights. Overall quiet and modern design. No cabinet or racks to keep the cloths. Only a few hangers on a coat rack. Sink in bathroom unclean, full of hair below the plug - that was really disgusting. Check in staff was not very informative. Other staff at later time at reception was very friendly and helpful. Parking is in shopping centre behind hotel. unfortunately cannot reach directly from hotel. Bike rent available and bike was fine and price ok. Nice restaurants and breakfast places around, too.

It’s not exactly my type of hotels, too much cold light and cheap interior details. So it wasn’t cozy. But it was clean. The bed and the shower room were good. And I really liked that it’s in 2 minutes from the railway station.

Rooms are quite small for double occupation but the price is good for a hotel at city center - Three shopping malls can be reached easily by foot within 2-15min - next to it are a lot of restaurants, bars, cafes, trainstation and Bus stops - definitely ideal location

Yelp
This is a hotel it seems well managed. The rooms are small but adequate and very efficiently laid out. They are bright and clean. The bed is comfortable. A nice flat screen TV. This hotel is a very good value for Aarhus lodging. If you need a fancy hotel with a large lobby in this will not meet your needs if you're looking for a comfortable safe and clean place to sleep this hotel more than or meet your needs. I will definitely stay there on my next trip!

Yelp
I am totally on the fence about this place. I think this concept is great for a single traveler - but we were three. We sprung for a "large" room - there was barely enough room to turn around. The bathroom is ship like - tiny but functional. The pillows suck. The room was uncarpeted. There isn't a comfortable chair to sit in and there isn't any storage space save for a rod with four hangers. The extra bed was a flip out chair - the teenager thought it was the worst thing ever. And yet - it's cheap and centrally located and we had two terrific meals at different restaurants less than a block away. Parking was in the garage at the adjacent mall. Finding our way from the garage to the hotel lobby was not exactly intuitive. Paid 150DKK per night (about $23US).
