This hotel was like the cheap cousin of Citizen M. Clean and basic, no frills but overall quite functional. It worked well for a night or two by myself, but given the complete pack of any storage option in the room, it would be hard to stay for longer. My room also.overlooked the train tracks and I could hear the trains quite clearly. There is also not adequate blackout protection on the windows, so be aware in the summer months that it gets light early.

Pretty good hotel overall. Staff is helpful and the location is decent to get around the city (reccomended bike rental, at least to bus station). Luggage storage costs but fee is reasonable. Breakfast is excellent for the price and room was nice enough.

March 2025, room 815, 2 nights The accommodation is not in the nicest part of town, it is quite far from public transport, which was not a problem for us. The hotel is closest to the Dybbolsbro train station, about 8 minutes walk, the main metro station (M3, M4) about 15 minutes walk and Havneholmen station (M4) also about 15 minutes. We took advantage of the connections from both stations, on the way to Havneholmen there is also the possibility of buying groceries at Lidl in the shopping centre. Room furnishings are moderate, the room itself is very small, with its own shower and toilet. We had no problem with the size of the room or the amenities. Although we had booked a room for 2 people, only 1 blanket and pillow was provided, the rest was in the storage space under the bed. Towels, bath towels and shower gel and soap were available in the room. The cleanliness of the room was good, could be better in details. I consider the biggest minus to be the paid storage of luggage before or after check out, and this was quite a lot of money for customers. Another minus for some may be the location from the metro and the city center. Translated via AI

It was actually better than I expected. Yes it is a certain price range, so the rooms are tiny (and the bathrooms even tinier) but the location is great and the bed is actually comfortable. The breakfast has a very limited selection but everything is tasty. The only downside was that we could still hear the noise from the outside, even with closed windows. I can recommend it for short stays like 1-2 nights.

Very central hotel….10’ from the central train station and 3’ from bus station. Beautifully decorated lobby. The staff is really friendly and helpful. You can also rent a bike for 20€/day. The breakfast costs 12€. The rooms are really small but clean and well designed! Value for money!

The hotel suited our needs. A place to sleep and have breakfast. No luxury needed than. Price/quality is good. Very friendly personel. The location is well placed. You can do a lot just by walking. The rooms don't have a refridgerator. We missed that.

Google
A cheap hotel, but still pretty good for the price. Checking in was quick and the staff is really nice. The hotel isn’t in a great location, but it’s only a ~10 minute walk until you’re at Tivoli and the central station. However, there are some things that you need to take into account. First, the rooms are not sound proof, unlike advertised. The windows seem to have a small gap that lets sound from outside in. If you have a room on the side of the train tracks, that means you’ll hear the trains until late at night and from early on in the morning. I switched to a room on the other side, which did cost me a bit extra, but it was really nice that it was possible! The room there was much quieter. The curtains are also terrible, especially during summer. Light can come in from the top and bottom, plus the curtains themselves let a bit of light through. It would be better if there were blinds, but that’s not the case. The cleaning was ok, but not great. However, it is possible to ask for cleaning. It would just be nice if the room you arrive in is fully clean. Overall it is a good hotel for the price, but do make sure to bring earplugs and a sleeping mask just in case.

Google
Long story short : go somewhere else ! Hotel dirty, room obviously not cleaned properly between clients. Found some hair everywhere is the room, even in the bed or on the WC. You have to ask the day before and before 10 pm to get your room cleaned because of « ecology ». You need an umbrella ? No worries, 10€ please. You want breakfast and parking for 4 days ? No worries, 250€ please … Breakfast buffet small and not good, nothing warm .. at this price, this is the biggest scam i ever seen.

Yelp
Well staffed and efficient hotel. The room I selected was compact but fully functional. The internet signal was good. There was no housekeeping except on request. For this length of stay some fresh towels are needed. It would be nice if I did not need to track them down. Breakfast was good with a variety of cold selections. The only hot items were soft boiled eggs.

Yelp
Probably, one of my fave hotels in Europe, WakeUp Copenhagen is large super clean, reasonably priced hotel. It's rated a 2 star, and to be honest a 4 star hotel in Copenhagen is not worth it. Most hotels in Copenhagen are needing revamp. So I picked this on rave review on Yelp and trip. It's your standard small space for a hotel room in Europe/Asia. If you want more room, there are larger family rooms with a bedroom. You're in Europe.... hotels are different. But there's inventiveness in design of this hotel: it's utilitarian, each thing in the room has a function. As you settle in, you realize it took the designers lots time to tie a function to any innovation to the room. It's space age-y and it works, almost Clockwork Orange-y and comfy. The layout here is also similar to hotels you'd find in Japan..... very ZEN! The breakfast is a typical Scandinavian/German spread: musli, cereal, yoghurt, 2 -3 charcuterie items, (the pate was super yummy on a seeded bread), cheese, Danish butter, nutella, fruit, boiled eggs, coffee, juice. WIFI was solid and encrypted. Visits: 1 (4 nights) Tip: Ask for a 12th floor, or high corner room, 2 windows (small fee) and look at the entire city. Skies are beautiful in København and love the top floor views here. To get to the metro/trains you walk 7-10 min. Theres a bus stop 2 blocks away. A block a way where the Tivoli Hotel is there are free shuttles and a real bus stop. There are 2 branches of this hotel, pick this one (Carsten Niebuhrs Gade) because it's close to the Tivoli Gardens, main train station and accessible to many attractions. There is no coffee-maker in room but go downstairs and they will make coffee/tea for you for cheap. You can also get snacks, sandwiches and a wine/champagne for a good price too. Bikes are everywhere in Copenhagen and you can rent bikes at this hotel for cheap too.

Yelp
Wakeup Copenhagen is classified as a "budget hotel". Despite the lower pricing (we paid about $113 per night), it's not a low quality hotel, and it's really quite nice. It's a newer hotel (our location was built in 2009, the other location in 2014), clean, and has style. It's also a convenient 10 minute walk from Central Station (which itself is a quick train ride from the airport). The rooms are small, however they are clean and quiet, and the water in the shower is actually hot, which was much appreciated after just staying in a hostel in Iceland where the water never got quite hot enough (and this is from a country that has an abundance of geothermal energy and hot water). There is also free wi-fi throughout the hotel as well as desktop computers for guests to use in the lounge. Overall I was very satisfied with Wakeup Copenhagen, and would recommend this hotel. However, there are some minor inconveniences/things to note: 1. They will not provide an extra pillow. On my travels throughout Europe, I've discovered that hotel pillows are soft and mushy (even the thicker ones that appear to be firm) and inadequate for people who need a firmer pillow and some elevation (I'm definitely going to bring a small pillow the next time I travel!). Wakeup Copenhagen was no exception. However, hotels (even the hostel in Iceland) generally are willing to provide an extra pillow (even though a second pillow still doesn't cut it because they are so soft). But not Wakeup Copenhagen. I even asked if I could pay for a second pillow, but nope--they simply WON'T provide a second pillow. They did, however, give me some extra towels to fold underneath my pillow. 2. They do not have rooms with two single beds--you must share a bed with your travel companion. (My sister and I were aware of this when we booked the room--we did extensive research when booking accommodations in Europe.) While the bed wasn't a luxurious queen sized bed, it was perfectly adequate for a couple, but a little uncomfortable for two people who aren't on intimate terms (incest just ain't my thing--no Flowers in the Attic moment for us!). However, my sister had a good suggestion--to rotate our orientation 90 degrees and sleep widthwise instead of lengthwise. We are quite short (I'm five feet tall and she's just a shade shorter), so our feet barely hung over the edge of the bed when fully stretched out, and we had plenty of space between us. We were quite comfortable, save for the mushy pillows. 3. I do not recommend the breakfast. The breakfast consisted of an assortment of cold cuts, sliced cheese, bread, eggs, etc, similar to several of our other accommodations. However, the quality of the food just wasn't good (even the hostel in Iceland, which had a similar breakfast, was much better). Definitely save your money and go to Andersen Bakery for breakfast, which is across from Central Station.

Yelp
When I was looking for hotels in Copenhagen, most of them were pretty expensive. I found this place since it was in the back of the train station so it's not very close to restaurants/cafes but it's quiet at least. It is only a 10 minute walk to the front entrance of the train station. The room itself is pretty spacious for a hotel room in Europe. There were actually 2 chairs and a desk which was nice. The bathroom was interesting - the floor was heated and it reminded me of a space pod. Breakfast is not included but there are plenty of good bakeries in Copenhagen. You can head to the train station to get breakfast at Meyers Bageri for cheap.

Yelp
Maybe one of the best price/performance/location values in the city. If you dont need all sorts of amenities and are looking for no frills this is it. Im not hosting any gatherings and my time here is sleep mostly. Clean, modern, and within walking distance of several bus lines/central train station. Staff are nice to boot!

Yelp
WakeUp Copenhagen advertises itself as a 'budget' hotel in the city center. It is (relative to everything else in the city) affordable, and it is centrally located - just a few blocks from the main train station where the train from the airport will drop you off after just 15 minutes. It's also very close to Tivoli and a big shopping mall. The interior is very modern: sleek, bright colors, modern furniture and design. They have an 'express check-in" similar to what you'd use when you go to any kiosk at an airport. Unfortunately, it was broken when we arrived and we had to wait in line. But we did get to use the 'express check-out' which was basically dumping your room key into a floating clear bubble. Breakfast (for us) was included with the room price, but that's not always the case. You can purchase it for 70DKK if you'd like - but I'm not sure it's totally worth it when you could walk around to a number of good brunch buffets in the area for about the same price. Breakfast was two types of sliced meat, cucumbers, liverwurst (I think), LOTS of bread, unsweetened yogurt, whole apples and oranges, apple and orange juice, and hard boiled eggs. I made some 'traditional' open-faced sandwiches since I was told that is "Danish" but it wasn't anything I couldn't live without. The only problem was the fire alarm went off around 11pm one of the nights we stayed. It was incredibly loud and affected the entire floor. The local firefighters had to come in-person to shut it off and it took quite a while. Oh, and there is no free luggage storage: it's 20DKK for one time locker use in the basement. Don't expect to check-in early too as they pack in everyone and use every last minute before check-in to get the large number of room clean. They will, however, try to up-sell you into a 'better' room (i.e. one that's higher up) for more money. I can't say for sure if it's worth it, but it's just a way to nickle-and-dime the customer since it is a self-proclaimed budget hotel.

Yelp
Average hotel doesn't really excel in any category. Location is not the best while only 14 mins away from the central station the area is rather empty with no restaurants or shops. Rooms are very space efficient and the design is interesting but the bed was uncomfortable and overall the rooms could use more space. And the WiFi is terrible. Only recommended for a one night stay and good for Tivoli proximity.

Yelp
I travel to Copenhagen from Oslo every week and spend 4 days with my client. In order to help them control costs, and as a by product protect my contract, I stay fairly cheaply. But nothing like Wakeup. You stay here for 400dkk a night I'd you like and up in price. I always stay here at the lowest available price as paying more doesn't change your room at all, just it's hight in the building. Biz are I know but maybe staying on level 12 is worth paying more than level 6. Seems crazy to me but heh..we are all different. Wakeup is a great concept. Similar to Cabinn but much better quality and standard. Maybe is because they're much newer and havnt yet suffered the awful Copenhagen water cancer. This is a chalky calcy, ugly build up of salts and cheap all over bathroom fittings. It can be avoided but requires serious cleaning everyday to stop it forming on the silver fittings. So in Denmark, where the water is all bore water, this a great indicator of cleanliness and attention. The wakeup in Copenhagen in nice but not as clean or as smart as the wakeup Aarhus. It still represents excellent value for a basic room. Very comfortable, great service and very friendly, excellent location...no more than 12 minutes walk from either the central station or several regional stations, a major shopping centre, tivoli and even the havnebuss. One gripe is the cleaning. Basic rooms can be perfect if they are spotless. If you want really clean this is not the hotel for you. Enjoy cph without mortgaging your kids.

Yelp
Crashed here for 1 night while waiting to redeem my dormitory keys. For about $60 USD/night, this is an average place and I'm in no rush to come back. Cleanliness: definitely above average, with plentiful towels, extra pillows and blankets. Space: For a solo traveler, this is adequate and plentiful. If you have a party of two or god forbid, more, then it'll definitely feel tight. There's only one bed per room, so get comfortable being intimate. Wifi: good for normal browsing. Awful for any video calls, which is a tourist's nightmare. Trying to FaceTime my mother was an uphill battle with lots of lagging and disconnecting. Electricity: don't be embarrassing like me. Insert your room key into the small white box above the lights when you first enter the door. Shower: a bit fritzy. It can easily skyrocket from warm to scalding hot. Learned it the hard way when trying to wash my face in the shower, so watch out.

Yelp
Close enough to walk with luggage from Central Station to hotel. Those with children or older folks might find it too far. Nice view from 8th floor. Rooms were very small. Small rooms are expected in Europe, but this was on another level. Shower/bathroom setup was a but awkward. The tube they called a shower made it difficult to open/close the door without water spilling out on the floor. Also hard to scrub without bumping knees, elbows, head, etc. into walls of shower.

Yelp
When travelling to another country I know I can sometimes struggle with what I think is 4 star accommodation and what another person or hotel may say is 4 star. With that being said, I was very happy with my stay at Wakeup Copenhagen. I had compared prices of other hotels in the area and Wakeup Copenhagen seemed to be the cleanest, most modern and gave you the most bang for your buck. Did I mention the shower is awesome? Less than a 10 minute walk from Copenhagen's Central train station and Tivoli Gardens, you really can't beat it.

Yelp
What a refreshing and pleasant surprise. I was traveling to Copenhagen this week and the client - also traveling in from the US - told me he's really enjoyed this place. Its very sleek, clean and modern and was perfect for our one night. The room is small, but it works really well. The bed was comfortable, the TV has English stations and the crazy telephone booth shower stall is actually much roomier than it first appeared. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a hotel that's going to pamper you - they provide one pillow, one towel, one bar of soap, but what more do you really need? If traveling as a couple, perhaps two pillows, but otherwise it's the perfect businessman/tourist hotel. The price was also very reasonable - I seem to recall you could pay a little more for a higher floor or better view, but even then, it was still very affordable. In the morning, there is a huge breakfast area with a couple of breakfast bars with what I would say is a traditional Danish breakfast. It has bread, sliced meats, yogurt, some cereal and coffee. It wasn't over the top, but it was good, quick and easy.

Yelp
Spent a few days there and i honestly have to say it was the worse experience ever, The cleaning service was terrible, the the room was dirty, custome service very bad we had an issue with a douvet wich I found FAECES on the douvet , we called reception and a very rude woman came with another one instead of apologise or give is an explanation shee was even more upset than us, she said she was the manager which I could not understand for the unpolite way to speak to a customer afrer a very bad experience, after she ofered ask her staff and come back but I never saw her face again and Im still waiting for the apologies!!! Very bad experience ! Dont go there guys!!

Yelp
I loved staying at Wakeup Copenhagen on my long weekend trip to Denmark. It was the perfect place for me: close to many places including central station, Tivoli, cafes and Fields mall, comfortable, safe, one of the most affordable options around and the staff was great and very helpful. I literally decided with 1 day notice to spontaneously go to Copenhagen, so I was in a pinch to find a hotel that was affordable and still close to everything with only 1 day notice. Luckily, Wakeup was able to deliver! When I arrived to the city, it only took 10 minutes to walk from the central station. Upon getting to the hotel, I checked in and was very impressed with the fabulously modern and sleek decor. The lobby looks so chic, as do the rooms, i loved it! I had to ask the staff many questions everyday regarding sightseeing and getting around the city and everyone was willing to help. There is a breakfast option here, for 70 DKR per day, but I opted to just go eat at different cafes every morning, so I was not able to try the breakfast. They also offer a snack/drink/beer bar open 24/7 for those who want a late night snack or drink. The room itself was great for me. I got the "standard single room" which was a great size for one person but would be a bit too small for 2 people, unless you like to get really cozy with your travel buddy, that is. The bed was comfy and warm, the window did open (but just a crack to let fresh air in if you'd like) and the shower had great water pressure and lots of hot water. There is also free wifi and a flat screen tv in the room, although the channel options were not the best (of course it's not like i was here to watch TV, but would have been nice to have a few more choices when laying down at night). On my final day, I checked out early but had a few hours to see the city before leaving for home and didn't want to carry my bags with me all day, so i got a locker for the day for 20 DKK which was very convenient and not too much money. Overall, It was fabulous to come back and relax here after a long day of sightseeing and walking around in the winter weather of Copenhagen. I was pleased with everything including the room and service and i'd definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Satisfactory budget hotel with a nice modern design. We stayed for 2 nights. The rooms are small but comfortable enough. It's just a ~10 minute walk from the central train station to the hotel, and 10-30 minute walk to different parts of downtown Copenhagen. The breakfast cost 80 DKK (~11 Euro) and consisted of yogurts, müsli, bread, and prepackaged cheese/butter/jelly. Absolutely not worth it. I've stayed in hotels with nightly rates at ~30 Euro and their *free* breakfast was far better than this. Might be a better deal to buy some of the snacks at the front desk -- I didn't check the prices. WiFi was good enough to hold a Skype video chat, so I'm not sure what the other reviewers were talking about. Maybe the hotel has improved the service or maybe we were near a hotspot on the 1st floor.

Yelp
Finding a reasonably priced hotel in Copenhagen is not easy, but this hotel fit for us. This is an interesting hotel, designed by the son of the architect of the Sydney Opera House. The room was tiny, but set up in a pretty interesting way to maximize the space. Keep in mind that the bathroom/shower area is glass, so you should know the person you are staying with really well. The layout helped us to not feel too cramped. The window curtains should be just a little bit longer, though, as it let in a little too much light in the morning. The breakfast buffet was about 70 DKK. You can make your own sandwiches from bread, meats, cheeses, and pate, and they have boiled eggs and oatmeal, and juices. Not a big buffet but it was ok. Also, due to the size of the room there is no fridge, but the staff (who were friendly and helpful) kept medicine we needed in their fridge downstairs for no charge. If you need luggage storage, there is a 20 DKK fee, although the storage locker is huge and can fit a lot inside. You can either walk from the central station, or go to the Tivoli hotel next door, where there is a minibus that goes to the train station, and to the Stroget and Nyhavn areas.

Yelp
It is about a 10min walk to the Central Station of Copenhagen. Free WiFi throughout the hotel makes it convenient for business people. The hotel is very clean. Carpet in the rooms and hallways is not ideal for people with dust allergies. The single room is rather small and has no wardrobe. For a short stay practical enough. + Free WiFi + Clean + Close to Central Station - No Minibar

Yelp
Would've written terrible (AND HONEST) review of the Wakeup Copenhagen Hotel, but I don't have wifi access INSIDE IT, so I couldn't post it anyway!! In short: the wifi is RIDICULOUSLY, un-usable slow, beds = bare bones, no phones in room, staff impolite, showers tiny & seemingly unclean, no mini bar, NO fitness center & the AWFUL, tiny breakfast bar (featuring weak coffee, prepackaged cheese, deli meats & crappy yogurt!) cost me 80DEK!!! Here's the long form. For starters, the staff at the front desk would rather have a chat w/each other than help guests with ANY kind of issue. When I first entered my room I got a very grim welcome: the shower looked dirty & the very "hospice-style" bed had a white blanket w/lovely oil stain on it. There are NO phones in the room... Or at least not in my room, so you must *walk down to the front desk anytime you need assistance*, which is completely insane to me! I removed the blanket myself & found a clean 1 under the bed. After all that, I thought I would lay down to relax & check emails, but was met with the sad reality that the Wi-Fi in my room is too *weak* to check email or even use iMessage!! I am traveling internationally so this is totally UNACCEPTABLE in a hotel. I've stayed in no name motels in the USA that were cleaner & more up to date than this place. I'm checking out early to (luckily) stay with a friend who lives in Copenhagen. I'd rather be on a sofa with wifi and strong coffee than spend another moment in this industrial, hospital-bland hotel room. Ugh.

Rebecca O.

Yelp
Danish minimalism at it's finest. There are few things as satisfying as spending $300 US a night without being confronted with the clutter of coffee in your room, a place to put a suitcase or clothing, an ironing board, or included breakfast. The hotel is true to it's name as your window shade only comes down half way. Yes! This is thoughtful design for you. If you stay with a guest, be ready for your level of intimacy to increase dramatically as you enjoy a bathroom with glass walls. Hint - there are also bathrooms across from the breakfast area that offers rolls, fruit, coffee and some meats, for only $18 USD per person per day! Speaking of growing closer as a couple in the bathroom, you and your sweetie will make compromises together as you share the single packet of shampoo/body wash that comes in the size of a catsup packet. Hint - be sure to open while your hands are still dry. Too bad that one of you will be using the bar of soap to wash your hair. The bar soap will dissolve into a mess in 12 hours, whether you use it or not. It will not be replaced. On the plus (sized) side, if one of you is widish, that person will not be taking a shower! More soap for one of you! Don't worry about the fact that the only place that will hold a single suitcase will block the door to the room and the bathroom if used. You can store your luggage, and assuming your clothes, in the basement for an additional fee. Put the glamor back in travel by standing in your underwear ironing your clothes as other guests do the same.

Yelp
A wonderful, stylish, and fairly affordable place to stay in Copenhagen. Book online for cheap fares, but be advised that the cheapest rates are non-refundable. (I found that out the hard way, but it still didn't dampen my opinion of this hotel.) The entire hotel seems brand new and quite stylish. Canned drinks from a refrigerator are available 24 hours a day, the bed was immaculate and comfortable, the bathroom was very funky, and the cable TV programming was extensive. Great wifi too. No complaints!

Luise M.

Yelp
+ nice design, very modern and stylish + friendly staff at the reception - all in all the breakfast was good, unfortunately the staff started cleaning and packing up as soon as it was 10 (breakfast was until 10) and also told us to leave not very long after - very small room, especially for 2 people. we had to share a very slim bed (not very comfortable. also one person had to climb over the other if she wanted to get out...not too easy for my 54 yr old mother) - the cleaning staff wasn't very thorough (bed was made halfheartedly, trash was still there,...) I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in August 2014 and would not recommend it.

Yelp
Very cheap hotel and a lot of value for your money. It is quite central next to the train station and Tivoli. I have been here multiple times and will come back again. It is very good value for money.

T B.

Yelp
The good : The hotel room is newly remodeled, clean, the wifi reception is good The bad: The size of the room reminds me of a stateroom in a cruise ship. There is NO PHONE in the room so calling your friends in other room is not possible. (What if you have health condition and you can not call help from outside, your body may be found days later ?). The location of the hotel is in the middle of no where, no other store or even restaurant nearby. Have to take bus to the central train station to find food. The breakfast provided is the worst I have ever had even compare to that in other cheaper hotels. Since I don't drink coffee or tea, there is basically no hot food for me to eat. The workers has no passion for their jobs, when asked if I can get my cold milk microwaved, they simply say cannot do it. What if you have baby the milk needs to be microwaved? There is only one smaller than ketchup pack of shampoo/body wash in the bathroom, good for only one arm. You have to go to the front desk to ask more of those basic items. No safe, you need to bring your own lock to lock anything valuable in the luggage. No small fridge either. Since there is a subway right next to it, you constantly hear the low noise when it pass by. Conclusion: that's the worst decision I've ever made, will not come back.

Yelp
Check in was very unfriendly. Arriving at the room I realized there were no space for my clothes. Only 3 hangers for coats and jackets. But OK it's a budget Hotel I kept repeating in my head. I went back to the counter and asked for some more Hangers - Sorry that's not possible. "We are not allowed to give extra hangers!" Then I needed some pdf's to be printed. The service fee alone is 50 kr. - that is before anything is printed. Then it's 2 Kr. per page. When she gave me the print out it was black and white - but the PDF was in color. "You should have said that before you had it printed" "But you did not ask, and I send it by email in Color". After a long discussion she finally agreed to print it one more time in color and then through our all the black and white printouts. I asked if I could at least get the black and white prints as well if she wanted to throw them out anyway. "No that is not possible!" Anyway - the name of the hotel should be read as a warning!

Yelp
This hotel is basic but has all the things you need. Take the highest room because it could be a little noisy on the ground floor. Breakfast was good! Best thing of this hotel is cheap and on walking distance of the town centre and nearby the train station.
