Lovely stay in the Binya. Would recommend putting in fly screens for summer so the windows can be opened for fresh air. For guests, I recommend bringing sufficient drinking water for your stay with you (water is not drinkable in the park).

We loved our stay in the Waldheim cabins and we plan to come back. It is really the only place I would stay in Cradle Mountain National Park, not because the lodges are not great (we did dinner there), but the atmosphere inside the park at the Waldheim Cabins is priceless!||1) You are right in the park. Means when other visitors catch the bus to leave the park after 4pm, you are still there, you can then drive your private vehicle in the park (during bus hours you need to wait for a bus and follow), and explore. You have basically the park and best spots to yourself. ||2) Wombats galore. If you like wombats you will see them when you stay there. A few steps out of your door, at the start of the boardwalk is their grazing place and we saw them every evening grazing calmly while you can observe them! ||3) Best views early morning. We got up early and drove to Dove Lake, getting a crystal clear mirror view and incredible pictures of the mountain backdrop. During the day wind picks up and the surface isn't so clear. The fog over the plains near the cabins was also an amazing sight. ||4) Comfortable accommodation! I can't believe that you are right in the park, but you get electricity, full stove and oven - and flushing toilets and hot showers! I mean hot showers (not lukewarm or just warm enough to wash yourself - but hot hot.) and unlimited (not just 3 min of hot water and then you run out or sth). Also the water pressure - I kid you not - was better than in pretty much any hotel we stayed on the trip. Showers are also very clean and there is a person cleaning the toilets and shower every day. The toilet was never busy, neither was the shower, even though there were other people. So no waiting or delays...wonderful. One small thing: the common toilet and showers have hot water, the sink in the private cabin doesn't. Just saying - washing dishes with cold water is a bit uncomfortably difficult ;)|The check-in process was easy. If you arrive after hours (when visitor center is closed), you walk up to the entrance and there is a lock box with your keys and info package about your stay. And the price is just very fair - you are right in the park and I can see that in some other countries these cabins would go for exorbitant amounts of money. ||5) Water: Water isn't potable, but our kayak guide said he drinks it, so I guess if pressed you may not die drinking it, we brought our own though.||6) If you don't want to cook, you can drive the 5km out of the park each evening and eat at the lodges. We had a great time and they also had wifi so we could check our emails.||7) Camper bus. If you board outside the park, you will need to buy a ticket. As per info sheet we got from the Waldheim cabin check-in process, if you board it anywhere in the park, you don't need a ticket. Perfect since we took the bus back for one station from Dove Lake to Ronny Creek. From there you can walk back to the cabin via the board walk in ca 15 min.

Clean with everything you need and hot showers (was so grateful). The Cabins are small so a bit frustrating with two young kids but perfect for comfortable sleeping and a simple meal.

Excellent location, but you need to bring absolutely everything you need, otherwise it's a 10 minute drive to Pepper's Cradle Mountain. Getting information about the cabins beforehand is tricky, so I've included photos of the information sheet you get at check-in (this should ideally be available at the time of booking to allow better planning). You'll also need to buy the park access pass for your vehicle, as that's not included in the cabin fee. Right up from Ronny Creek, excellent easy access to the Overland Track. Heating was not great, unfortunately, so I wouldn't come back in winter. I stayed in the 6 bunk Beltana 1, which only had one small wall heater. Accommodation quality is clean, but only one step up from camping, so you need to come prepared for this. Kitchen is well supplied, and there's a good full-size fridge. No microwave. Also, the outside shared toilet and shower facilities are limited, so I wouldn't want to be here when the cabins are all fully occupied (one toilet and one shower for males, likely similar for females). The neighbours were an old couple, and the husband was up multiple times each night, so the sound of their door opening and closing kept waking me up. That didn't make for restful sleep

Great location right inside the national park—nature lovers will be thrilled. Wildlife is everywhere, which also means… so is their poop. Still, it’s a peaceful and refreshing place to unwind. Bonus points for being able to park the car right at the cabin door—no hiking with your luggage through the wilderness!

Perfect retreat in the Cradle Mountain National Park. Very remote but so close to Dove Lake and wombats. Plenty of wildlife and peace and quiet and wombats. Cabins well equipped and shared bathroom facilities excellent. And wombats. Will definitely be back.

Nice spot but no bathroom in rooms and the water was yellow and untreated.

Our best stay in Tasmania. Hot showers outside, fully equipped kitchen to cook your pasta meal in the evening and prepare sandwiches for the lunch on the trail. Oh and the trails start pretty much from here :) no need for the car or the shuttle. Daily visits from wombats and wallabies are an added bonus.
