I loved this hotel, friendly staff and great meals. Its a great location to make as a base for daily walks in the Alps. You have access to two train stations, both within a 15-20 minute walk, at Interlaken West and Wilderswil. The historic Schynige Platte train leaves from Wilderswil and is worth the ride. We stayed @Waldhotel as part of a walking group and I would definitely return to stay there if the opportunity arose. The hotel staff were fantastic.

The staff at Waldhotel were so lovely and helpful. The food was fantastic. Stefan takes great pride in looking after his guests. It was a wonderful stay. The hotel is located in a great spot just outside of "downtown". Stefan organised some great entertainment.

I stayed here with 25 friends from a walking group. The Hotel was very well located for accessing the many attractions of the area. Stefan and staff provided a great service with excellent food and drinks. We were treated to a musical concert on our last evening, and everyone in our group had a wonderful time. Our group was very well looked after, and I would be happy to return here in the future.

Our stay for 3 days was very uncomfortable Poor old beds, rustic rooms. Shared bathroom & toilets were the nightmare Busy periods will begin queuing and dirty toilets. Breakfast was good and the staff was good in the dining rooms. Bees and wasps will fly during your meal and will occasionally dip into your drinks. Wasn't value for our money.

It was hard to leave a poor review, because there were a few highlights to this place. Firstly, the people who run the hotel & the service is amazing. Very nice people & a positive atmosphere. The views are also unreal. The food is fantastic! Complimentary breakfast that's actually worth eating, & their restaurant was one of the best my friend & I found in interlaken. The reason I'm leaving only 2 stars is because the whole reason my friend & I paid for a hotel at a higher price point was to have a peaceful, quiet, safe atmosphere. That is NOT this place. The walls are so thin, you hear every conversation, every footstep, every door slam - everything is incredibly loud. There is zero privacy. A teeny tiny room, with creaking floors all over, & huge window doors that open into a shared balcony. So, if you leave your curtains open, everyone can see into your room. Also, if another guest is on the balcony, it's as if they are so loud they're in your room. All the floors creak so heavily, that if your roommate gets up before you, they're definitely waking you up even if you're careful. I personally hate my sleep schedule being dependant on all the other guests in a hotel, but this place forces that because there's no sound proofing at all. Had I known this, we wouldn't have stayed here, so I'm posting to hopefully help someone else out.

Free parking, you get a card that's valid for free bus transportation within the city. Things that aren't deal breakers for us: no coffee maker in the room, tiny bathroom, no mini fridge in the room, the walk to the bus stop is about 10min walk through a road with no side walk so you have to be aware of cars coming around the corners (the only option is walking on the road). We liked that it was outside the city but close enough to walk to it. Quiet for my 3yr old.

We loved our stay here! Although basic, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Shared bathrooms are immaculate and were always available to use surprisingly. Brilliant free breakfast included, and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. If you have a car, it’s a great base to explore the Jungfrau region from, with train stations only a 5 min drive away. Although it’s a bit out of Interlaken centre, we really enjoyed the peace and beautiful views. Great value for money in the region, highly highly recommend.

The hotel was great for walkers, the fact that we were so supported by the staff with full meals allowed us to really enjoy the huge range of walks in the Interlaken area.|Would be great to go back again, the hotel was accessible from either Interlaken West or Goldswil stations.|John
