We generally usually stay at Conrad hotels and this was the first time we tried a Waldorf. We were blown away by every aspect of the stay.||We are Hilton Gold, and the hotel was booked through AMEX FHR. They honoured every aspect of the reservation, with an amazing corner upgrade, exquisite breakfast and hotel credit.||The hotel itself is beautiful, and felt very well maintained. The service was always top notch and then some. It seemed everyone we spoke to went above and beyond to make us happy. This somehow surpassed ever our experience in Conrad Tokyo which had until now been the highest standard of service I'd ever experienced.||The room was beautiful, very clean, more modern than I expected, with wonderful views around the city. Aesop products were so nice, we will be buying a few for our house. The bed and the pillows were the best I've ever seen, and I slept the best I've ever had in any hotel bar none. I'm usually the sipping whiskey and surfing late at night guy, and this time I couldn't wait to get back to the room, jump into bed and let the fluffiness embrace me.||The breakfast was excellent. I don't know if à la carte is standard in Waldorf hotels, but it should be. Great quality, very tasty food, great service. Same goes for in room dining which we experienced a few times. The Waldorf burger is very tasty and the double/tripled ditto.||I always saw Waldorf hotels as a bit stuffy. And the clientele is a bit older, and I suspect quite loyal. But the hotel is not stuffy at all, it's much more modern than I thought, and whatever the target audience, it was a very pleasurable experience.
