I normally don't leave reviews unless a place eithers blows me away or quite, the opposite, is shockingly bad. Let me start by saying that there is nothing inherently wrong with this hotel, but moreso why I am giving it one star.||||I booked a 3 night stay in a "King Room Ocean View" from November 29th checking out on December 2nd at this hotel. Total was $772 after taxes, so while not the most expensive hotel on South Beach, it was not cheap by any means. Not knowing what to expect, I tried to not set myself super high expectations, but I was expecting at the very least a King sized bed and an Ocean View. When my wife and I arrived we were informed we also had to pay a $119 dollar resort fee, which they charge everyone apparently, despite the fact that this is NOT a resort, it is an old building on a corner of Ocean Drive. Whatever, I was not happy about that but I was not going to let it ruin my trip, but mind you I have spent almost $900 now for just the room for the 3 nights.||||Once we got to the room, I was both shocked, angered, and disappointed to find out that not only was the bed a Queen sized bed, but the ocean was not visible from any of the four windows in the hotel. While you can see the beach from a couple of the windows, the main window has a giant palm tree blocking it, rendering it pretty useless. You can only see parts of the beach from some of the windows, but the ocean is behind a long and tall row of bushes, so you can't see it even if you stand up and walk to any of the windows. I am attaching pictures of the view from each window so you guys can see what I mean.||||Next huge negative was the fact that once the night came, the downstairs restaurant played loud music and made it really difficult to sleep. To make matters worse, right outside our windows the hotel turns on these colorful flickering lights at night, and even with the curtains completely closed they let in this light, making it incredibly difficult to fall asleep.||||Now not everything was bad about the hotel. The location, while not being an "Ocean View" room, is right on Ocean Drive in South Beach, which is a 3 min walk to the ocean. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and bars nearby, and you are only about 10-15 min away from Downtown Miami if you go across the bridge. We also received two coupons for 30% off our meal if we ate at either the hotel or the cafe next to it. Places aren't cheap so the 30% comes in handy even if it's just for two meals. One other thing that is worth mentioning, is they have a 24 hour store right outside on the side of the hotel with everything from food to daily needs, so that was good.||||Despite the negatives we still enjoyed ourselves and spent a nice weekend in Miami; I just wish either the hotel was cheaper (because I honestly feel robbed for what we got, it was definitely not $900 worth) or at the very least they were transparent and didn't lie in their description. Stay at your own discretion, you are forewarned.
