Cold and Flu Essentials Our Editors Never Travel Without

"If I come down with a bug and need to blow my nose a bunch, the skin above my lips always gets super dry. That’s why I always bring along a small container of Vaseline when I travel during cold and flu season, just in case. It soothes my irritated skin and can double as a hydrating overnight lip mask if you apply it there too. —Dana Leigh Smith, Vice President, Content Lead, Condé Nast Health"

The Walgreens staff, Brendan and Jeremy, were so helpful. They showed me how to get the most for my money by using the app. And, they were just plain nice! What a good experience!!!

Store is fine, but the people in the pharmacy are so rude. I tried to pick up a prescription for my grandmother and they flat out lied to me and told me that her doctor refused the refill. I called her doctor and they told me that they had approved the refill 2 days prior (same day the prescription was called in). Called the pharmacy and the lady doubled down on her lie until I said that I called the doctor and gave her exact dates and times and then it was all "whoopsy, I guess your right." Then, when I go to pick up the prescriptions, whoops, we only have one in stock, come back on Monday for the other and the lady was so rude! Slammed the mic off and stormed away from the window the moment I took the prescription from the drawer. Then, we come back Monday around mid-day and are told that the delivery truck never comes until after 5pm, directions that the woman would have known on Friday but chose to not convey. If the nearest other pharmacy wasn't 40 minutes away, I would absolutely not use this Walgreens.

Walgreens as a corporation needs to reach out with when they will reopen. We are very rural and people don’t have access to another pharmacy.

So I drove 40 minutes to this location to get my prescription and to buy a few other items. I was standing in line to pick up my prescription and I was told by the woman behind the counter, I’m sorry sir. I won’t be able to help you we have to close at 1:30. I said I’m standing in line. Another woman said and when am I supposed to get my half hour break? Really??? Never again. I won’t be back.

Have been waiting 3 weeks for a life/death prescription refill needed. No update from their electronic service, tried to call the pharmacy but the line is constantly busy. This is the 3rd month the refill has been delayed and I've had to chase them down. Miss Rite Aid - they were so much better organized and responsive.

I called the pharmacy asking questions about a medication, and if they carry a particular dosage, and would my child be able to get it there while she's from out of state and at camp. The phone was answered in a timely manner, the pharmacist was polite, answered all my questions, and even told me that waiting to see if my out-of-state insurance would cover an Rx there, would be a real pain for me, and possibly a waste of time, if my insurance ends up not covering it; she said it's better to just buy the meds myself and ship them to the camp. Overall- very courteous.

As a mom with 3 kids under 5 I normally am “that mom” in the checkout with the screaming baby, the toddler who wants to put everything in the cart and the 4 year old who pushes the cart into people and/ or shelves. So as you can imagine, I went up to the counter with my tribe totally expecting dirty looks and to feel rushed. That’s not what I got at all. One cashier stopped what she was doing, came around and asked if she could push the cart my baby was in while I checked out so the baby could calm down. P oooP And the cashier helping us was amazing and talked to my other 2 like best friends! If that wasn’t good enough the manager Josh stopped working on what he was doing and offered to help us out to the car and proceeded to load my items into the trunk while I put the kids in. The best customer service I’ve EVER had!!

This pharmacy has failed our local communities by mishandling the Covid 19 vaccination, numerous attempts to set up appointments for myself and family members resulted in total frustration and failure. Walgreen was not prepared to implement a vaccination program which required some thoughtful preparation to assure that their computer interaction with people who wanted to be vaccinated was full proof . Walgreen used the pandemic to further their business interest by attracting customers to register for the vaccination and as a result hoping to attract customers to their stores. Based on my personal experience their employees were not trained and the stores were never staffed to implement a believable program to vaccinate people. Further evidence that they were not prepared to provide services is the recent news that they let large numbers of the vaccines to go to waste. Shame on you Walgreen and I can assure you that you have lost me and my family as customers.

Yelp
For the most part the employees are awesome - pharmacy needs a major overhaul. The woman that work in the pharmacy need to work on not being so witchy, especially some of them that have been there for 5+ years. They could fill more scripts if they weren't worried about socializing so much. Standing in line listening to their home life isn't what they should be doing. Corporate needs to give the stores the hours for them to have time to get the work done too! Greedy people who don't know who to effectively run a company, that is for sure. Some of the DM's are straight up rude and have a chip on their shoulder which is causing people to quit in droves. Wake up!

Yelp
The pharmacy is horrible. They always say the don't have your meds in stock. You get home and there's an automated call to pick up your meds. They are rude, unprofessional, curt and straight out disrespectful to customers
