One of my favourite places to visit! We are lucky enough to live just over an hour away. Absolutely beautiful spot. We walked along from the lighthouse out to the point and were lucky enough to spot a tiger shark and 2 eagle rays. The magnificent humpback whales were passing by pretty close as well. It was quite a calm and a bit overcast day so we were able to see everything clearly. Must see place if you’re in the area.

The Byron Bay lighthouse is a must-see. It’s a lovely, easy walk with stunning views along the way, and the lookout at the top is absolutely worth it. You can even grab a coffee once you get there. Perfect spot to take it all in.

Signs can be seen of erosion on the coastline south of Byron Lighthouse following recent storm activity. Travelling north along the coast, the erosion is more severe, with significant loss of sand, exposed roots of coastal vegetation, and damage to walking tracks and beach access points becoming increasingly evident. 😟

Mainland Australia’s must Easterly point and a a beautiful area. We’ve visited here twice at different times of year. In Winter you can see loads of Whales from the lighthouse and other view points. Very well maintained walking trails. Parking can be challenging at peak times, but we almost always found a park after a little look.

At the top of the hill are breathtaking 360d views of your surroundings. The walk along the coast was invigorating and fascinating with a wide variety of interesting flora and fauna along the way. Quite a steep climb in some places but great exercise. Loved the rugged beauty of the landscape and the calming views of the ocean. There is a cafe where you can take time to drink your coffee while soaking in on the glorious views. Can get really busy and crowded though. There is a free 30 minutes guided tour at the lighthouse. It was fantastic and informative. At the top of the lighthouse, the views are just stunning and humbling. I did wish i can look at these beautiful sights forever. There is also a telescope for a closer look of the whales and dolphins which were swimming close by. Big crowd when we visited and it took forever to find parking so probably best to walk up there if you're fit. Just a few k from the town centre. 😊
