Amy's tour was one of the best food tours I've been on in a decade of international travel. Though originally American, she's lived in Spain for a decade and was fluent and clearly well-liked by all the owners and servers at our stops. Our group was a perfect small group of 8 with two guides-in-training.
We had Iberico and Serrano jamón with local small bottles of Mahou at a local shop. Then multiple small plates at an adorable tapas spot where I particularly loved vermut and Iberian tomatoes.
Next, the red wine part of the tour! Amy told us about Spain's wine regions and introduced us all to my new obsession: sobrasada. As well, I'm allergic to milk and another guest had a gluten intolerance and we both got plenty to eat.
Our final stop was a sit-down dinner in a very 70s restaurant with fun vibes and music. We had delicious white wine, razor clams, sizzling garlic & olive oil shrimp and steak. Well, I had fried fish because of my beef allergy (see, very accommodating tour!). The next day we got a list of our stops and the dishes we tried. Amy also gave personalized recs during dinner, a truly great person!
