The Best Tour Companies in Ireland (Updated 2025)

"Running tours since 1986, they use guides with postgraduate history qualifications who pair serious knowledge with a good Irish sense of humor; each walking tour is just over two hours, they start from the front gate of Trinity College at 11am every day (Fri–Sun only in winter) with an extra 3pm tour from May to September, they take you to highlights like the House of Lords, Temple Bar, Christ Church Cathedral, and Dublin Castle, and tickets are 19 EUR — a great overview of Irish history." - Matthew Kepnes

Cathal is a fantastic tour guide! He is very knowledgeable and so personable, it was a delight to your the city with him, even in the torrential rain! Cathal was very flexible in adapting the tour to us and to the weather. He made the places we visited come alive with his stories, songs and wit - we even forgot about the rain! I will definitely book another tour with him when I'm back in Dublin!

Cathal does an incredible job bringing Dublin to life. We spent two days with him and it was worth every Euro. Cathal has an intimate knowledge of Irish history and conveys it with wit and humor. Be prepared for song, poetry and sore feet.

Cathal led our group of teenage Spanish students on a walking tour of Dublin last month. I cannot recommend him highly enough! He adapted the tour perfectly to suit a group of tired, not very attentive, teens! Adapting his language and the route to make everything appeal much more to them. He knows Dublin like the back of his hand, is very knowledgeable and easy going. He even got them all singing!

We knew that we had a short time in Dublin, so we wanted to make the most of it. Cathal was the perfect solution. He was very accomodating to our interests, tailoring our walk around the city. His knowledge of history and pop culture was a great combination, and provided us with an entertaining day in Dublin. Oh and the entertaining - some singing, some acting and a great storyteller all a part of the package. Highly recommend Cathal if you're looking for a tour of Dublin.

Yelp
Our tour guide, Darragh, was the BEST! He was incredibly knowledgeable, an excellent storyteller, humorous, and overall very personable. Overall, this was a great experience and I've already convinced my family that are planning a trip to Ireland to book this tour...hopefully, they'll have Darragh as their guide!
