Caution about signing up for Pompeii tour in advance. I spent $128 for two people. Because of an ItaliaRail issue, I arrived 5 minutes late. There was no phone number provided to advise of the late arrival. Not only did I miss the tour, but I had to pay even more money to enter Pompeii. Although your entry is included, you don't get sent an entry ticket if you miss the start time. There was no one from the company at the gate. The tour had simply left and started. I don't blame them for starting on time. I just caution against booking a tour in advance when you are relying on trains that you can't control. There were a lot of guides inside the gate looking for people to take on tours. I'd recommend that instead of you don't have full control of your travel.
