6 Best Galapagos Cruises For Every Kind of Traveler (2023) | Condé Nast Traveler

"Avalon Waterways may be better known for its European river cruises, but it also sails the Galapagos Islands. Avalon sails this region on two ships, the Treasure of the Galapagos and the Delfin III. The Treasure of the Galapagos is even smaller, carrying a maximum of 16 guests. And while there’s no long list of restaurants on board either ship, there are creative, locally inspired menus featuring seasonal ingredients and lots of vegetarian options. On board both ships, you’ll find daily natural history lectures, a team of multilingual naturalists, floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows, and plunge pools."

Interesting spot to visit albeit somewhat somber. Highly recommend riding a mountain bike to the wall as the trail is a little rocky, sandy and hilly. Climb up the stairs on the side to get a nice view of the surrounding area.

Great place to visit by mountain bike. Cycle along the route with some great stops ending at the wall of tears, which used to be part of a prisoners camp. Although the wall itself is not impressive, the way there and back is a great way to discover Isabela by yourself.

We hired bikes in town to get here. It was uphill on the way which made the ride back enjoyable. We were lucky to see Giant Tortoises on our way there! The wall itself is not incredible, but the wildlife en route makes it worth it.

Historical interesting, but more about the bike ride (or walk) out to it to see tortoises up close (keeping 2m away) and great views from beaches and lookouts. Rented bikes in town for $5 each and did the trip in under two hours with a couple of stops but could easily make the trip longer with more stops.

Nice hike along road. Easy. Lots of tortoises on the way. There is an arrow at the wall that takes you up a hill to the site of an old US WW II radar installation. Nice spot for lunch

Very emotional yet hopeful with the beautiful nature and views surrounding!

It's a wall made of loose stones with a dark history. Its a nice sight and the hike there is beautiful, we even saw giant tortoises. It's a long hike, I recommend hiring a bike.

I’d recommend walking rather than riding a bicycle. Be sure to have on plenty of sunscreen and bug repellent. There are so many different paths to follow, some less traveled than others, with incredible beauty. The story behind the Wall of Tears” is heartbreaking.
