The staff was always very nice but the place is a mess, it feels very dirty for its price. In Sydney i got to a cheaper hostel that is way cleaner, has better infrastructure and it even has a swimmingpool. Never dared to take a shower. I found Cockroaches in the dinning room and the AC in my bedroom was broken, it always threw a weird smell that made my head ache every night. If I go to Perth again I will sadly try another hostel because this one left me with a bad taste

Great hostel with nice staff. Good kitchen with plenty of fridges to store your own food, rooms are clean and beds are usually quite comfy. They’ve just put AC in all the rooms. However price doesn’t vary from 4 man room to a 10 man room, it’s the same price which doesn’t make much sense. Lots of toilets as well as shower room with lockable door instead of shared bathrooms. Would recommend, especially if you are French or Italian as there’s many here.

Good location & staff are friendly but other than that probably one of the worst hostels I’ve stayed in. Rooms, bathrooms & kitchen are all dirty. Super hot in the rooms with no AC. Lockers to put your stuff in are super small. Extremely noisy at night outside due to cars etc

I was here in September 18 - 21, 2024. I don't have any issue because this is a hostel. But looking at the location, which is only a throw away from station, halte bus, cat bus, woolworths is very great! Also in the 1st floor G1 it is very quiet, I like that. There is huge common area in 1st floor with a lot of couches. We can interact with others because the room is functional only to sleep and secure our baggage and that's great though. Toilet & shower is also clean, however they need to give extra place such as shelf in the wastafel area, so that we can put our things (make up or anything) on the shelf. It will be better if there is bidet too though lol.

No aircon in rooms- only a fan. could be very hot in summer.. Kitchen was okay- not the cleanest but not to dirty. A lot of lounges ! Very cool. Relax outside your room. Receptionist was very helpful and friendly. Location is perfect. Very close to the cbd But rooms are a bit noisy at night/ early morning (police, ambulance, cleaning etc.)

I was skeptical when I booked, but this place really took me by surprise! A great price and definitely worth the money for the location and convenience. Had a super pleasant stay here, no issues with a late check in time and felt very comfortable the entire time. Security is good and the rooms have everything you need besides a kitchen! Definitely exceeded my expectations and I’m super happy with Akara Perth. A little hidden gem that’s right in the middle of Perth’s city. A great choice for my first time here!

I appreciate being here on a temporary basis and feel safe, especially as this is my first time living in Perth after over ten years in Brisbane, and the personnel here provide excellent customer service and go above and beyond to assist and explain everything you need to know about the area. I would especially like to thank Amy for her amazing professionalism.

I arrived around 13:00 and staff were present to let me in. ||I was pointed towards my room and it was ok. At the door way there was a stained carpet but once in the room it was ok. |I wanted a room to myself with a clean bathroom, bed linen and a decent lock. I also wanted to be in easy reach of the city centre. The staff were nice enough and allowed me to leave my luggage for a few hours after check out. They also suggested museums that might be worth seeing. |By chance the other residents were also ok. ||Having seen other reviews I’m not sure what they expect for the money. ||It definitely needs money spent on it such a new bathroom door in 107. ||It’s certainly aimed at temporary workers that come and go rather than holiday makers. For example it’s impossible to see out the windows due the other buildings being so close to it. ||Overall I’d definitely recommend to anyone wanting cheap central room and only intends to sleep in it. ||Go in with your eyes open and it s a super cheap room with the bare essentials.
