Our stay, meant for rest and rejuvenation, turned into a deeply distressing experience. The heating was barely functioning, housekeeping failed to arrive at the agreed time, and when we raised the issue, staff denied that such an arrangement had ever been made. The so-called yoga room was a windowless, freezing shelter, wholly unsuitable for floor exercises. Instead of addressing our concerns professionally, staff became defensive and dismissive — a complete lack of empathy for guests in a hotel of this level.
The situation escalated shockingly during our post-checkout transfer. The driver verbally attacked us, repeating internal gossip about how a housekeeper had spread to staff that I was "rude" after our conflict — even though I had experienced her behaviour as impolite towards me. He shouted while ignoring icy road conditions and crossed personal boundaries with unwanted physical contact. I left that car in tears, feeling utterly humiliated and devastated.
The management's response was equally alarming — they denied accountability, lectured us about "mutual respect," apologised only for minor issues, and ignored the truly serious failings. The grossly inadequate 20% refund felt insulting after such an experience. For a hotel of this supposed standard, we expected integrity, professionalism, and basic guest safety — all of which were missing.
Walliserhof Grand-Hotel & Spa in Saas-Fee presents itself as a five-star wellness retreat devoted to relaxation and wellbeing, but our experience was the exact opposite.
