I wish the people at Walmart were friendlier. It seems like every time you try to ask somebody for something they look the other way. But I am happy that things are normal and there’s plenty of toilet paper. Their new digital price tags are kind of cool because they have a QR code where you can go to the WM website and learn more about a product.

Google
I normally don’t leave negative reviews but sometimes something can be so egregious to where you’re have no choice. With that being said, I literally pulled in for a pickup order and the order didn’t come out until 50 min later. Now I will admit that out of approx. 15 pickup spots 90% of them were full when I pulled in, but I went ahead and pulled into a spot and checked in because I’m thinking well I’m here now and I also assumed the employees would hustle the orders out fast to get the customers out of there. No lie those employees were moving as if it was only 2-3 cars out there. 😂 So definitely consider whether you have time to wait before ordering pickup if you’re in a hurry. Honestly, if it’s going to take that long for pickup you might as well not even bother having pickup.

I was balancing SO much trying to get weekly grocery shopping done and my baby was getting super fussy at checkout. Ms Kim helping me scan the rest of my groceries and kept my little one entertained while i loaded everything. Seriously so kind! All the employees are always nice to us- but this went the extra mile and meant so much to me. Thank you!!

Google
I despise the self checkout. I am doing the work for Walmart and they have not lowered prices accordingly. Then they stop you at the door to make sure YOU didn't miss something during checkout. How about hire more cashiers and then you won't have to treat everyone like shoplifters!!

Just wanted to give a big shout out to MARVIN in the Garden department, who was so very helpful as we went to look for the best deal on a Blackstone grill. His customer service skills are outstanding, which is rare these days.! This man deserves a raise!

Google
Id like to compliment an employee at this location who gave me outstanding customer service. I hope management reads this post and recognizes Gwen. In addition to the excellent customer service that she gave me that was above and beyond, I realized what a wonderful person that she was as well. She's certainly a tremendous asset to this store. Thank you Gwen! William Barnes

My mom and I went to this Walmart together and met the coolest employee ever! His name is Jeremiah, and he was so sweet to everyone he met! His joy was absolutely infectious, somebody give this kid a raise 🙏

We moved to Chelsea beginning of the year and loving it. Walmart Chelsea is pretty news and big, very convenient. I have a great experience today with on of the worker in Walmart, forget to ask for her name. She is so patient and helpful. She spends nearly 30 minutes with the gardening soil. Very impressed!

Yelp
Better than the average wal mart in that there's not a bunch of junk in the aisles. Easy to get in and out quickly with your items. Very clean and appears to be well managed.

Yelp
Do not use this Walmart for any auto service. Me 9: AM appointment 4 tires 2.5 hours later no tires on the car But 5 employee have had a break ate chips talked about not working. Never again stay away

Yelp
Horrible customer services and an aggressive/unsafe place to go. Most that work here are hostile and rude.

Yelp
I prefer this Walmart to the one in Greystone. I looked up on their app for my item. It showed where it would be and they gave the aisle and even showed it on a map. I went into the store and couldn't find it. I saw three employees who were helpful and one even guided me there. I didn't wait at all at the self checkout lines. I had a very positive experience. The restrooms are clean and modern. I've done pick up here about five times and I never wait more than two minutes for them to come out. Not once did they make a mistake. The app is so easy to use. I think Walmart gets a bad rap!

Yelp
I have never been treated as rudely and disrespectfully as I was at this location today. They had a price on drinks of $10.98 and when we scanned them they rang up at $12.98. Asked them if they would honor the advertised price and the "team lead" went to the sign changed the price on it and started yelling at me about being up in her space and that she would just call the PD and have me removed. All I asked was the original price shown be honored and I got threatened with having the cops called, yelled at and belittled.

Yelp
Honestly, this is my favorite Wal-Mart to go to. It's well organized and they always have what I need in stock. They have a great grocery selection. Expect to do self checkout though - there are never more than 2 registers open - even during peak holiday times. They do have plenty of self checkout stations though.

Yelp
Now I shop at many of Walmarts but I don't like being followed by employee me and my son was shopping and a old white woman picked up a item and would follow us then when we stopped she act like she was putting it away and watch us she did these many rows on large main rows and smaller rows she did these in toys and part of electronics. Every time my son would put his hands on something she make a comment how kids should not touch or run he is 3 years old in toys and trying to figure out what Santa needs to bring. These made me very mad that she was following us around like that and made me well I had mix feeling but it was very upsetting that a employee would do these and it made feel like she thought that I was going to steal. It was just me and my son on Friday I got paid looking to see what Santa needed to bring. I wasn't best dressed hole in jeans dirty shirt hands covered in paint but I work construction and came right after work so if she was thinking I would steal based on how I look these is wrong. I was so upset about these that I left leaving what items I had in my buggy in the clothes section. If she done it once she probably done it to other customers. Be careful at these store .

Yelp
Lots complain about Walmart and yes there are few employees now to help you. But the online order and pick is great no running around looking or if not in stock they order and tell you when it's ready to pick up. Saves me time and frustration. So thanks to the employees in pick up!!
google avatar

Anthony C.

Yelp
We have used the online pickup since it came to Chelsea and I'm so thankful for this service. One employee stands out, Brooke, as she goes above and beyond her responsibilities to greet us and cheerfully interact with the kids. Thank you Brooke!!

Yelp
We usually go to express oil change for our regular automotive maintenance, and we will continue to give them our business. We went to buy groceries at the Chelsea Walmart, and we thought we would have our oil changed while we shopped. When we pulled around to the back, there were two young men who stood there and stared at us for a very long time before slowly moseying over to the car to see what we needed. Their body language, facial expressions, and the way they spoke all told us that they did not care about the service they are there to provide. It was so clear that they did not want to be there that we decided not to have them change our oil. It is not safe to trust things like automotive repair to lazy and apathetic individuals. We bought groceries at this location, and there were two individuals who had very helpful, polite, and accommodating personalities. There was a clerk at the front named Sabrina, and there was a young man named Keathen working in the store. Both of these people were good examples of customer service. I only came across Sabrina because the first person I encountered, the clerk working in Lane number three. Was quite rude as well. I walked into her lawn and greeted her, and she just stared at me. So I'll let an older gentleman get in front of me, and I changed lines. Although we did come across two friendly individuals during this shopping trip, the rude ones really soured me on this location. Walmart needs to invest some time in training employees to deliver service with a smile and leave the bad attitudes at the door. They could use a dose of whatever Chik-Fil-A is using to develop true customer service.

Yelp
Much better Walmart than the one at Brook Highland, well worth the drive if that's your closest Walmart. Better selection, cleaner, friendlier employees and an overall better looking store. Plenty of parking and has a Murphy USA on site for an easy fill up after you get your groceries.

Yelp
We have stopped going to Walmart for groceries since they are CONSTANTLY MOVING items to different aisles!! When I go shopping I DO NOT want to waste time trying to find what I need. It pisses me off and you list a customer. Keep thing in the same spot and you will keep more customers!!

Yelp
Usually easy to get in and out of. Friendly workers. My only issue - many times I have been approached in the parking lot by men asking for money. I hope Walmart solves this issue. Makes me feel unsafe.

Karen R.

Yelp
I have been a loyal customer for years and have raved about how friendly all the checkout personal have been. I am not happy that I have to put in a complaint but I feel I need to address several grievances I have about this store. Since the coronavirus, we all have to contend with wearing masks and the rules that go with this pandemic. After so many years of knowing where everything is, this store has decided to switch all their products to different isles, making even harder to shop. What are they thinking? Also, infuriatingly, there is VERY limited checkout stations. There are noticeably several personal just standing around while lines are waiting to be checked out!! I do hope Walmart will acknowledge this complaint and do something about it. It is hard enough to shop these days.

Yelp
What kind of Supercenter is this? Something really strange is going on at this Walmart, again. We've gone to several locations and found the garden center, jewelry, etc open until 10 pm. At Chelsea these areas and checkout registers, including the tobacco lane, have been closed down as early as 7 pm to 8 pm. I'm not talking about the automotive, eye center or areas that have direct, local competition. I'm talking about the actual store and grocery sections. What is going on in your garden center? We've seen the same Walmart employee standing at one of the automatic doors to the garden center, manually turning the door on and off and attempting turning people away between 7 and 8 pm. The first time this happened was close to Christmas. The employee was standing at the inside door, near pet food, telling people that the garden center was closed, new policy. He kept opening the door and looking into the garden center when he thought no one was looking. We left and went to a different Walmart. Last night he was standing at the automatic door going out to the parking lot and was manually flipping the switch on the automatic door when people came up. What is this vague "new policy"? ALL normal registers except self check out were closed before 8 pm. The woman wearing a yellow vest tried to act surprised that there were no other registers open. She quit trying to act like she didn't know what was going on and gave the same excuse: new policy. Why isn't this "new policy" clearly listed on the doors or on your website? Why were other registers, such as jewelry still open? The garden center's "new policy" isn't listed, nor is it closed at the same time every night. The negative employee attitudes, the "new policy", skyrocketing prices and lack of service at Chelsea's Walmart has many of us looking in Publix and Winn Dixie's direction. It's sad when even the independent grocers and convenience stores out sell and out serve.

Yelp
Tonight, my granddaughter and I stopped in Walmart to pick out an Alabama tee shirt for my grandsons birthday party. We only had 5 minutes and I asked Shenea, cashier, where I could find an Alabama tee shirt. Since she had no customers she quickly took us to the shirts, helped us select one, helped us with a bag, tissue and birthday card. Then she checked us out. We accomplished all of this in 5 minutes and made it to the party on time! Thanks Shenea for amazing customer service at Walmart.

Yelp
Will never use pick up here again. This is at least 3 times that I have waited at least an hour to get my groceries. I could have gone in and picked up everything myself and will from now on. Ridiculous

C M.

Yelp
Youw the paper towels in the decorative box; the ones that hang on a towel rack and pull out individually to dry hands. These are great for guests who may want a fresh towel instead of a used cloth one

Yelp
I have to agree with Jerry on all the socio-political points. While I'm not a fan of Wal-Mart in general, when you live in a small town it's hard not to go there. I spend an embarrassing amount of my income there because it's close to home and easy to go get everything I need. Wish I had local alternatives that were affordable.

Haley B.

Yelp
You have half eaten cookies on display. you let people eat food on display and don't take it to the back and put out fresh new food.

Scott M.

Yelp
Hardly worth talking about, workers are not helpful and they lie about their paint quality. Straight up lie.

Yelp
My husband went to Walmart in Chelsea to purchase 30 forty pound bags of fertilizer yesterday, 9/12/2018. He asked the person in the garden area if he could get someone to help him load them. The fellow told him no, that they don't do that, and pointed toward the fertilizer, saying "it's back there". I told my husband that I would never step foot in that store again, so I called the Alabaster location. I told him what we needed and asked if they could help my husband load it. He said that everybody that could help was "getting ready to go home," but I could call the next day and see if there might be someone there who could help him. I told him Walmart had always helped me load bulk materials without my even asking. He said "well, you'll just have to check back, and maybe there will be someone here to help you tomorrow, I don't know." I then asked him the store manager's name, and he said, "he's getting ready to go home too and he's probably already left." I said well I will see. I called the store back and ask for the manager, and he was, in fact, there. I told him what his employee had told me and also what the Chelsea employee had told my husband. He was outraged and apologized profusely. He said if we would come to his store that he would be SURE that we were taken care of, He also told me that I could be sure that he would get this straightened out and it would never happen again because it was nonsense, and said that he had no idea why his employee would say such a thing. He also suggested that I contact the Chelsea store manager, saying that she needed to be aware also, because this was unacceptable treatment of their customers. I called Chelsea asking for the store manager. I explained what had happened earlier that day. Her name was Vanessa and she was more outraged than the Alabaster store manager. She was so courteous, telling me that they are there to serve their customers, and I could be sure that she would take care of all of it. It turned out that Alabaster didn't have 30 bags, so after talking to Vanessa, she said if we didn't mind coming back, she could promise us that the issue would be rectified. What a mess! I am writing this review because I have to say kudos, big kudos to Vanessa. This lady knows how to manage. She is a leader who leads her employees by example. She met my husband in the garden area, and she, yes she, Vanessa, the store manager, helped my husband load 1200 pounds of fertilizer on his truck. THAT is a real manager, dedicated to getting a task done, even if she has to do it herself. She is the type leader that I am certain will make sure that this issue never happens again. Walmart needs to take note and hang on to her, because she was one impressive lady.

W B.

Yelp
Under new management this store has greatly improved. There are more employees who are mostly courteous and helpful. Shelves are better stocked and now you can actually get service in the automotive department.

Jane J.

Yelp
I love this store! It's new, shiny clean. They carry more products than other Walmarts I have been shopping in. O really appreciate the gluten-free foods, would like to see even more, especially cookies, pastas, frozen bread. The people are very friendly, like the self-checkout lanes, much faster. The only complaint in design of the store - why did they put frozen foods in back? You have to finish all your shopping, then go all the way back for frozen food. I know stores put dairy in back so you'll have to pass everything else to get to the most common purchases, but ice cream has to be last!

Mel S.

Yelp
Good store. Just a few issues...some of the cashiers are slow and unfriendly. And management could use some work. A lot of items not in stock, several aisles tend to be a complete mess, with nothing on the pegs but just piled on the shelves. The team needs to learn to do proper store recovery. But...still love Walmart!! ;)

Rick M.

Yelp
When I first moved to the Chelsea area (2008), I liked this Walmart. However, over the last couple of years I've been disappointed. The shelves are poorly stocked, and in particular the quality of the produce seems to be getting worse. I like to use local businesses when possible to help the local economy, but lately I found I have to use other chain grocery stores to find what I need, or I end up going to a different Walmart several miles away to find what I need. I do hope the Chelsea Walmart management can turn this store around. I'd love to start using it again. 8?)
