I live within 1 mile of the Walmart on Bald Hill Rd., Warwick. I do not know if they train their employees to have good customer service skills, or not, but a lot (not all) of the employees at this store have no clue what good customer service skills look like!
I am in a boot after having surgery 5 weeks ago. I parked at the lawn and garden end because I needed a gas can for my mower. There were 2 employees apparently being paid just to stand near the register area. When I walked in, I expected to only walk in that area to get my gas can and go to the register, check out, and leave.
They only had 5 gallon gas containers. I wanted a smaller one, so now I had to walk to the back of the store to get a small container. I grabbed a few more items as I walked my way back to the lawn area to check out. When I got there, the same 2 people just stood there looking at me. I then saw a sign on the counter behind them, that said, lane closed.
Why wouldn't they have said something to me when I walked in hobbling on my surgical boot??? Do they lack compassion? They caused me so much anxiety as I turned away.
Now, I had to walk to the front of the store to check out, then walk out the store and walk all the way down to the lawn and garden area to my car. Neither one of them offered to get me a carriage, or help in any other way!
Where was the customer service?? The only person in the store that offered to help with anything was the woman at the front door on the way out (white hair). She offered to get me a cart. I respectfully declined. I was too upset at the lack of common sense, good customer service, and of the overall poor experience that I just had. It reminded me...
Last year before Christmas I was in this store for early pickup. It opened at 8 am. The woman was late. Blah, blah, blah! Anyway, I wrote a negative review of my experience. A time afterwards that I went in to get something, she and another employee were in an aisle I walked down. I saw her right before I walked by them and continued down the aisle towards the item I wanted. When I passed her, I heard her say to the other employee (behind my back), "She's the one who left the bad review."
She is lucky I didn't ask for the manager right then and there! And her job!!! Next time, I will.
If you are the manager at Walmart, please do your job and get rid of uncaring, unhelpful, insensitive people!!! They are hurting your business.
I was in the store around 11:00 am on Wed., Sept. 29, 2021...
