The Culture Shock of Coming Home

"I was wide-eyed walking down the aisles of the big-box Wal-Mart stores and blurted, "Holy shit! Supermarkets here are huge," because these stores housed tens of thousands of things to buy; my mother curtly told me, "They are your supermarkets. This is your home," and warned me not to call it a foreign place." - Matthew Kepnes

I don't like this Walmart but it's the closest one to me. It's not a super Walmart so no produce and limited grocery. I have seen or once been involved in bizarre interactions with their cashier's on 3 or more occasions. Usually just as a witness, but it's high for the amount I go here. The only other place I've had more was at the dollar tree. And where those people have to put up with all sorts of shenanigans from the customers. But this isn't about the problems at the dollar tree. It's about this meh Walmart. In a word: Underwhelming. You won't be pleasantly surprised, but you probably won't be disappointed either. Oh and the parking is always a headache. The spots are too close together or something, which for a Walmart is rare, but also it's on the small end of a triangular lot so it's just awkward. Also between the handicapped spaces, the curbside pick up spaces, the "reserved for law enforcement" spaces, and the spaces used for cart corrals... I mean I get it. If you don't put enough of most of those things the consequences are anything from being fined for not enough handicapped spaces to people leaving their carts all over because there isn't a corral withing 5 steps.

I understand not enough cashiers. Waited in line and cashier help one customer. Told me and a senior lady to screw and use self check-out. Terrible customer service. Don't work with the public if you're that lazy to help. Her attitude left a bad taste because you don't tell customers you're unable to help assist. There were only 3 of us! Everyone has a bad day but keep it to yourself.

Been exploring american supermarket and find it so different. A lot more clothes as we have them, good prices. Electronics....check EU prices and you will find out how lucky u are. But the food....big difference. I newer saw so many frozen food before. And there is less fresh one, but I would have to cook in USA to get a more proper Walmart experience.

I'm really happy with Walmart's 650 Bald Hill Rd, Warwick, RI 02886. The online shopping experience has been a blast. Prices are the same as in-store, and with my membership, I get free delivery. Plus, I receive regular discounts and coupons, which adds to the savings. It's convenient and cost-effective, making it a great option for shopping from home.

Google
You had to stop locking up normal items that people like to buy. I am 65. You do not steal. I have enough money to pay for my stuff, but I do not like the fact that I have to wait for somebody to get my make up remover I was still waiting if some girl said just go online there faster and they’ll send it to you overnight so that’s what I’m doing now. What do you think about that?

M

Google
I go to Walmart every week but when I couldn't do it anymore I started doing the home delivery for groceries. Well you can chat with them through your phone they let you know about substitutions on your food. And all the food is scanned and it leaves the store. You get charged for everything don't let you know how many stocks they are away. But when I go downstairs to get my groceries I come to my house and I noticed that some items are missing. I'm like okay I got to report them missing. So I went on my phone and I reported some items missing. I paid the whole subscription for the whole year. So I paid $30 shoes for my daughter and I never got them. They told me that I had done more than three missing items and more than three returns and they terminated my membership for the whole year. I still have 7 months to go. I called customer service like over 11 until this day they never reimburse me for my money and they said they terminated me because I reported to many missing items. So I'm thinking that the person that was delivering my food took this item. Because it happened more than three times. I never got my money back for the membership until today. So I believe that these drivers they are using for third parties or confiscating items from people and they're not being held accountable for it and we pay for it. So I decided no longer to do any home delivery take a bus and go to shopping myself. Which is really messed up because I am disabled with a walker. I think Walmart needs to have this thieves a carnival because I know they're the ones that took them they did leave the store.Sad

Google
It's not to bad.. BUT i have to say that the employees that do the internet orders and pick up orders and whatnot with those FLIPPPN HUGE METAL "CARTS" OMFG they are everywhere and every aisle two to five of them sometimes at times it's impossible to get the items I need....

Nick C.

Google
It is Wal-Mart what more is to say. They have just about anything you need and the prices are usually reasonable. People take advantage of the self checkout lanes. Today it wasn't super crowded so the shopping experience wasn't too bad. A good thing about Wal-Mart is if you go to the one around the corner or across the country the experience will be very similar.

Yelp
it's a Walmart...things are everywhere... prices don't match the display. I just needed to grab some things for the giving tree and I got the job accomplished. Two employees helped me find adult coloring books and adult diamond art supplies that I couldn't find on my own. parking is awful in this location. There seems to be more parking spots for people picking up online orders than there are for people visiting the store.
google avatar

Yelp
I shop at Walmart about once a month or two. There are some items that I find a great value, like Cereal. Regular price Walmart Cereal is about 2/3 cheaper than regular price National Brand cereal...and the taste is pretty similar and the nutritional content is also about the same. This Walmart is not a Super Walmart, so the food section is smaller than a Super Walmart, but it does have the basics....the outside has the nice new sign and logo, but the inside probably needs to be redone....it does have a bit of an "older look". Parking can be a challenge here, as the parking lot is usually full every time I go...no big deal....I get my daily steps that way.... LOL.

Yelp
This review is written to acknowledge the Manager, Shane, for assisting me with a frustrating experience of traveling to various Walmarts and wasting time and gas. I have been seeking out a particular over the counter medication for well over a month and it has been out of stock consistently. With frustration after having spoken with corporate Walmart as well as sales individuals at multiple locations of Walmart, I called the Warwick Bald Hill Rd store and was fortunate enough to speak with Shane. He took the time to check on the product and indicated that it should be restocked within a day. That is the sign of a manager who wants to please customers and assist with their needs. Kudos to Shane for doing that! I certainly appreciate your effort.

Yelp
It is incumbent upon me that I begin with: This is not a store at which I voluntarily shop. Way back, when Sam Walton was alive they had a 'made in America' campaign where everything made in the U.S. was clearly labeled so we as consumers could support our own robust economy. As soon as Sam was laid to rest, this corporation made a multi-million (at that time) dollar deal with China. At that point I was out and I've been able to adhere to my self imposed ban until recently it seems everyone is shopping at 'the walmart'. Why is there a "the" in front of walmart? How did that happen? But I digress. I am here at the request of a mom-to-be for her baby shower gift (car seat) which is apparently only sold at Walmart. The store at this location is quite large. Tbh, I didn't notice if they have a food area. Up front is customer service, followed by a phone repair shop (very nice), then seasonal (halloween coming down, Christmas going up) items and so on. The store seems clean and the inventory extensive. They had the car seat in-stock, but not the extra base mom-to-be wants for the 2nd vehicle. I went to customer service to ask about it and without looking to see if it's in stock, she told me to order it on-line. I asked if they could do it so I could pay all at once. No, they can't do that. Ok. Check out includes a few self check-out lines, a couple '20 items or less' and several regular lines. They were pretty busy and had a few regular lines running. I'm not sure why, but the check-out process didn't go smoothly for everyone in my line. The cashier seemed to have all sorts of instructions for everyone, like none of us know how to do it right. It was weird. Any way, their credit card terminals only offer 'insert your chip' technology. I have zero plans to return but somehow I feel I'll be back when I receive a gift request that demands it. Everyone I encountered (with the exception of the rather interesting cashier) was pleasant and there were plenty of staff on hand. This experience just did nothing to change my belief that Walmart is not the store for me. If you are a Walmart shopper, I see no reason to avoid this location. Have at it.

Yelp
I Just read that "Walmart is bringing ads to an aisle near you as retailers chase new moneymakers". "Shoppers will soon see more third-party ads on screens in Walmart self-checkout lanes and TV aisles" and "hear spots over the store's radio". Absolutely not putting up with that. I still go out to do errands rather than buy online, but if the in-store experience becomes this terrible that will change.

Yelp
Typical Walmart, seems a little smaller than others. Parking lot has terrible setup. Generally only go to Walmart because its the cheapest option. Of the ones I go to, this would be near the bottom.

Yelp
I had a conversation over the phone yesterday with the same pharmacist . He seemed to discriminate against my doctors ethnic background . I told him over the phone what her last name is and he told me he'll wait to hear from Whatever name you just said . He also had his mask on wrong again .

Yelp
Just came in to ask a question about gift cards and the gentleman working in the cell phone sales said he'd get the answer for us, we watched him walk away, make it look like he was busy asking someone came back and said " yes you can use the cards here" while we were waiting we were ignored we left, we called the card company and found out you can't use the gift cards there only in certain stores and I know that Walmart don't give a flying fig newton about any complaints because they still keep the liars and slackers working there... so sad

Yelp
Small Walmart but will do if you're just grabbing something quick to cook although they don't have fresh produce or a deli/bakery

Yelp
Walmart is of course that place you go to to find almost everything. I don't like to go into stores instead I like to shop online. If you order ahead for pick up they charge you. It's free to have it delivered but they charge you to pick it up. I don't really understand that and you have to choose an appointment day and time. Lots of times I am making some thing and I need some thing at the last minute. At target I can pick up my order groceries and everything else in the store within two hours. I would love to see the same at Walmart.

Yelp
I live within 1 mile of the Walmart on Bald Hill Rd., Warwick. I do not know if they train their employees to have good customer service skills, or not, but a lot (not all) of the employees at this store have no clue what good customer service skills look like! I am in a boot after having surgery 5 weeks ago. I parked at the lawn and garden end because I needed a gas can for my mower. There were 2 employees apparently being paid just to stand near the register area. When I walked in, I expected to only walk in that area to get my gas can and go to the register, check out, and leave. They only had 5 gallon gas containers. I wanted a smaller one, so now I had to walk to the back of the store to get a small container. I grabbed a few more items as I walked my way back to the lawn area to check out. When I got there, the same 2 people just stood there looking at me. I then saw a sign on the counter behind them, that said, lane closed. Why wouldn't they have said something to me when I walked in hobbling on my surgical boot??? Do they lack compassion? They caused me so much anxiety as I turned away. Now, I had to walk to the front of the store to check out, then walk out the store and walk all the way down to the lawn and garden area to my car. Neither one of them offered to get me a carriage, or help in any other way! Where was the customer service?? The only person in the store that offered to help with anything was the woman at the front door on the way out (white hair). She offered to get me a cart. I respectfully declined. I was too upset at the lack of common sense, good customer service, and of the overall poor experience that I just had. It reminded me... Last year before Christmas I was in this store for early pickup. It opened at 8 am. The woman was late. Blah, blah, blah! Anyway, I wrote a negative review of my experience. A time afterwards that I went in to get something, she and another employee were in an aisle I walked down. I saw her right before I walked by them and continued down the aisle towards the item I wanted. When I passed her, I heard her say to the other employee (behind my back), "She's the one who left the bad review." She is lucky I didn't ask for the manager right then and there! And her job!!! Next time, I will. If you are the manager at Walmart, please do your job and get rid of uncaring, unhelpful, insensitive people!!! They are hurting your business. I was in the store around 11:00 am on Wed., Sept. 29, 2021...

Yelp
I usually stay away from ALL wal-marts because they're very anxiety provoking but this one isn't that bad. The parking lot is a total mess you have to practically fight to get a spot, and then once you do you have to walk and make sure you don't get run down by a car. Any-who I've never had to return something but that line always looks so chaotic and long. They have subway and a nail salon inside never went to either one but just letting you guys know it's there. Now to the store it's a bit big with no clear signs so you kind of walk in numerous circles , it's kind of all over the place. You can't ever find an associate on the floor to help. But it's on the cleaner side you don't find much on the ground. The dressing rooms are super small but they're clean. The garden center is not that big , the electronics is also surprisingly on the smaller side. Everytime I come they always seem to have a lot on clearance which I really do enjoy and it will be some good stuff on sale, always check the clearance racks. The associates are not bad here I haven't had an issue when being rung out , they have self check out now that moves really fast. But the other lines they get really long. This location shares a lot with Rhode Island Mall and Burlington Coat factory.

Nicole S.

Yelp
I had the lovely opportunity to come into this store and worth with Scott (cashier -employee working in or near electronics) and Danielle (assistant store manager) See photo attached. They had a stack out with 2 65" TVs on them advertised for $108 as you can see in the photo. Once I found Scott in the electronics department I told him I was ready to check out with the tv.. he said he would find me a cart to transport the tv. After getting the cart loaded with the TVs (that we're directly in front of the electronics register) Scott said "that's a great price isn't it?" I said back to Scott "yeah that's exactly why I'm taking the last 2 you have" Anyways once ringing up the product it came up in their system for $498 before tax. He called a manager for assistance... that's when Danielle came over... she told me the item was marked incorrectly and she can not offer me anything better than 10% off the $498..... I told her this was absurd considering it was clearly labeled incorrectly by an employee of Walmart. She stated she did not know why the sign was wrong and it should not be priced at $108 and once again the best she could do was 10% off. (She could have offered something better) I find this very hard to believe considering I've worked in retail myself for over 10 years and I do know that most places will honor the incorrect pricing that is labeled if it was done on the store/employee side. But there's nothing more I could do at that time so I asked Danielle to write down her store info.. store manger (Mallory) and store number and corporate number. I walked back a couple of isles to the video games to join the rest of my group while searching the Walmart corporate number for accuracy Danielle gave me. I was on hold so decided to walk back over to the tv and get more info such as the item number etc. Danielle and Scott were at the stack out checking the prices of both TVs placed there. They noticed that the signs were labeled incorrectly and someone either did it on error or it was swapped by someone else. (Mind you I have asked both Scott and Danielle to check the camera feed to see when and who made this change because I clearly did not.) With this being said I was sanding maybe 5-7ft behind the Walmart employees when Scott said "wow she really changed the prices on us" .. accusing me of making this change and trying to pull a quick one on them .... Little did Scott know I was right there and heard it all, and I made it known I heard it all. Scott then said to me "I'm sorry I didn't know you were still here" EXCUSE ME? Like I said I too have worked in retail and I know you NEVER TALK BAD ABOUT THE CUSTOMER .. EVER! You never know whose listening! Instead of Danielle stepping up as a manager and apologizing for her employee or even asking him to walk off the sales floor for his words and actions (anything) her one and only response was "well I didn't accuse you of anything so I don't know what you want me to do?" DANIELLE I HAVE AN IDEA... HOW ABOUT BE A MANAGER AND NOT ALLOW YOUR EMPLOYEES TO TALK BAD OR ACCUSE OTHER CUSTOMERS! I haven written to the corporate level of Walmart, the store manger directly and I will call in daily until this has been addressed. This is NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE! You do not accuse customers! You do not talk about them!

Cristina C.

Yelp
The online grocery is terrible at this location. I've done it at multiple other locations but when I use the bald hill location they never have my order, act confused or just don't process it even after I get the text saying it's ready
google avatar

Mark W.

Yelp
While not a frequent 'Wally World" visitor, I have to say that I found this one to be organized, clean and well managed. I came in for an 'online-order, in-store pickup' (the only way to go, IMO) and was met by a knowledgeable associate who quickly found the item I had ordered. After that I did a brief run for a few other items. It wasn't a major run, but what I saw there impressed me - but then again, the bar set by the Providence store (chaos, clutter and confusion) is pretty low.

katie d.

Yelp
This Walmart is in dire need of an update. It is probably one of the busiest around but the layout is so dated. And the parking situation is terrible, there is never anywhere to park like even the back rows will be full!! The employee's are very nice when you can actually find one. Also would love if they had a whole grocery section not just the frozen stuff. Would save me a trip. Please turn into a super Walmart like the Coventry, RI store!
google avatar

Neil B.

Yelp
Maybe because I found what I was looking for very quickly. Maybe because the prices for what I was looking for were much lower than CVS; maybe because it was a weekday and the store was not crowded or maybe because I lucked out and had Dominic in the pharmacy help me find what I was looking for and Dakota in aisle two as my cashier or maybe it was all the aforementioned, but my experience today at Walmart was outstanding. The store was clean, the air conditioning was great, the prices were fair, things were easy to find and all the employees with whom I had contact were friendly and helpful. So I'm definitely a fan!
google avatar

Charles H.

Yelp
I'm sure they save money n manpower so they can lower pricing. But the thing is some of us come here to get help and not just for pricing (there is always Amazon a here I can usually find better pricing but no answers to questions). I looked for someone in the electronics department. The one member was already helping someone, and had another one wiring before us. 10 minutes till he could find time to answer our questions. At least he was knowledgeable. I will not come here again on Saturday or Sunday. It just takes too much time.

Yelp
I just had the best experience at Walmart on Plainfield Pike in Cranston. My cashier, his name was Matt, was one of the most pleasant cashiers I've experienced in a long time. He greeted me with a smile he gave me his name, And talk to me as he rang with a pleasant smile on his face. I cannot remember the last time that I was so pleased with the cashier. Kudos to Matt, keep up with whatever you're doing, you made my day. Walmart itself had most of what I needed and was still pretty well-stocked considering it's only a few days before Christmas.
google avatar

Rebecca S.

Yelp
The manager joey is an immature fool who should have no business managing a store this this but yet again it's Walmart. And the "customer service manager" or something ridiculous like that named Ann is a horrible excuse for customer service absolutely horrid. All ready came at me with an attitude and no help at all. But what am I complaining for, half the people here are grown and working at Walmart and miserable at the customers. If you're gonna be a jerk and hate your job find someplace else or lose your attitude
google avatar

Kenneth C.

Yelp
Not my favorite Walmart, although it's one of the few reasons to stop at the dying Rhode Island Mall. The parking lot is always difficult to navigate. Employees seem to have a 'could care less' attitude, and I've witnessed two employees make a sarcastic comment about a customer behind the person's back. It's not a 'supercenter' Walmart, so they only have a limited selection of groceries. Oh, and one more thing: of all the Rhode Island Walmart stores I've been to, this one is where you are most likely to have a famed 'Walmart sighting' of a customer who is waaay 'out there,' such as the woman I saw with tattoos all over her face.
google avatar

JLynn C.

Yelp
This Walmart is not my favorite but I will shop here when I'm around rt.2 because it is a convenient location. The store itself is set up horrendously and it's hard to find stuff because nothing is where it should be. The clientele is sketchy ghetto and kinda scary which makes me shop quickly when I do have to shop here. Walmart is lucky to have cheap stuff or else I woudln't bother with this RI mall one.
google avatar

Yelp
This is the worst Walmart I've been to, it seems like nobody updates their Walmart app get different prices, I went to check out the the Bella electric skillet, I scanned the barcode on the app it says $5.00 then at check out, it rings up a different price, I didn't appreciate being made a fool infront of people, the manager didn't do a price match!

Yelp
I wish I could leave no stars. I have been going to the Bald Hill Walmart since it opened, and I mean, 1 to 3 times per week, because I work close and get my "essentials" there. The last 6 months or so - they have music playing - which I think they always have, but it is now pretty loud and I mean, distracting loud. I LOVE music. I still listen to Punk Rock, Classic Rock, old Disco, Cutting Edge Music, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s - everything you can imagine, in my car, at home, working in my yard. The problem here is that - #1 I am there to shop. When I cannot even keep my mindset on what I came in here for because of the loud and nasty sound coming from above, then I feel violated, and something has to change, and it could be me just not going there anymore. The problem here is that the speakers up above are VERY crappy in a tinny-sounding sense. So now, couple that up with a bit of static in there, too - and now ADD to the pile that it is too loud. You need to tone it down. The sound system is horrifying - and you don't turn something horrifying up - you bring it DOWN. I have complained 4 times to corporate, and it's been about 3 months since my first, and it remains the same. It's torture to go in there and the last 2 times I put my earplugs in. I had to or I was gonna drop everything and run out of there. Yes, torture. Today, I mentioned it to two separate customers who agreed with me wholeheartedly . . . imagine if I asked everyone I came across? SO, WALMART - you don't even deserve the 2 stars here - and I mean your overall 2-star rating from Yelp - you are a zero. With that said, I refuse to go anymore. Target is also near my job. I'll get used to going there now.

Richard S.

Yelp
I order a laptop from Walmart.com that was advertised as scratch and dent. Turned out to be a 2014 model so I returned it to a store. I also purchased an extended warranty. I was told that after the computer was received back I would receive a full refund. First for the computer and then a few days later for the warranty. That never happened. I tried to resolve with Walmart.com, I emailed the seller and also called Capital one, the credit card company for the Walmart card. A completely horrible experience all the way around. I am still out $59 for a warranty on a computer that I returned.

Yelp
I do not shop at Walmart to often but when I do I find most of their stores to be clean and in good shape. I visited this store on 7/29/14 and found the store very dirty and in many areas damaged from wear and tear. There was a plaque at the front of the store saying they won Store of the year in 2011. I guess that was the peak of their upkeep at this location.

Yelp
so let's just say i enjoy walmart but lost faith in humanity many walmart's ago. Today however was different , a women who was doing self check out aside me saw that i had put a few items back ( I didn't want to have to use my credit card and they don't take apple pay) she kindly asked me if she could pay what i was putting away. I declined just because it wasn't anything I couldn't go without . I was overcome with happiness just knowing there are still good kindhearted people in the world. Especially during a time like this, she also said to me " i feel lucky enough to still be working right now so i want to help" I really was taken back by this act of kindness and just wanted to mention it as this was the Walmart. I imagine she has helped many during this time and for people like her is making this world a better place ! ( sorry it didn't have much detail about the store itself but the people who go to these walmart's make a significant difference to me )

Yelp
I frequent this Walmart for cheap stuff or things I need quickly like tape, eye drops, and other random household goods. They have a pretty decent size seasonal section right at the door. It also has a good frozen and perishable food section. Why only two stars? Despite having an assortment of stuff, I still seem to see shelves of emptiness such as a recent trip where I was trying to find drain cleaners and they had five random bottles. Some were even ripped open and just left there. Also I can never seem to find anyone around except at the registers or front so I'm left walking all over the place trying to find things. It's a Walmart, what more to say?

Vera R.

Yelp
I shop here frequently and occasionally stop at Subway for lunch depending on the time of day. Just now I approached & there was a Walmart associate talking to the subway employee.. neither acknowledged me but I stood there for a minute and waited while I heard them discussing some incident that took place between both companies employees, I didn't hear specifics exactly but after a couple minutes of not being in knowledge i waived my hand and the subway employee Looked at me and said said oh I'm sorry as if she wanted to end the conversation but the Walmart employee just continued on even though she saw me standing there!! I walked away after they continued to talk more. Even for Walmart - I am absolutely dumbfounded by the lack of common sense and customer service I just experienced. Disgusted and annoyed.

Yelp
I absolutely hate this place. It is not even so much the store or even the staff...well ok they are kind of creepy too. they seem to be carrying out the hi how are you today phrases like trained zombies....they don't mean it and they don't even pretend to mean it. it's as if they have been instructed to say the same thing to everyone they come in contact with...well i guess maybe they have. I've waited in departments after requesting assistance...and it's never come-particularly around holidays. Anyway I just had an experience in which I ran in for a few things and was surrounded by rude and inconsiderate customers. Jamming up the aisles, walking at you with carriages...the word ignorant definitely comes to mind. And why do some people with children let them run crazily throughout each aisle. I walked out needing an advil. It may be that the location of this walmart is simply too accessible to the highway and so it is where many many people decide to shop. I like walmart because there are reasonable prices for household cleaners, beauty products and the occasional craft or small kitchen appliance but I need to say i prefer the walmarts that are less travelled. Let me hunt my bargains in peace.....

Yelp
Came here after class on Valentine's Day. All of the shelves that carried Valentine's Day things were completly EMPTY. Of course, leave it up to me to go ON the day to get things. The staff was less than helpful when I asked where I could find certain things like Balloons, cotton candy, the cards. I was simply told "in that area" but not willing to help me as I was on a time crunch. I'm not asking for you to hold my hand and show me but good customer service would be appreciated.

Yelp
WALMART FAMILY MOBILE: Walmart has partnered with T-Mobile and they are offering a new unlimited plan. The plan includes: Unlimited Talk Unlimited Text Unlimited Data (first 250MB at 3G) All this costs $45 for first line and $35 for each add a line. You can do three unlimited phones for $115 a month plus the taxes! The down side is that you have to supply your own phones. Any unlocked GSM phone will work - including the I phone 3GS. If you need to buy a phone the Samsung Dart is a full function Android phone and costs about $120 new at Wally World. I have also purchased an unlocked I phone 3gs for $150 on Craigs List. The service is excellent and can save you big $$$ over Sprint, Verizon, etc...

Yelp
It's a WalMart. I go in here when I need something that is kind of cheap and doesn't cost that much..... The best thing to do in a WalMart is people watch...some interesting characters are always lurking around that place.

Yelp
Keep in mind that we have low standards when we enter a place like this. Sometimes you don't have much time but need four very different items. These are things that we have successfully purchased at this Walmart before. Sometimes things are a mess and inexplicably out of stock, so you can't be sure you'll get everything, but never so many in one day. Greek yogurt is one item that always seems to be cleaned out with two knocked over containers left in the back. They had two express lanes open. This seemed good because we ended up with only a few lousy items BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE EVERYTHING WE WENT IN FOR. One express lane had a flashing light and couldn't take us. The other one had a cashier on break. So, after spending too much time searching for what we needed and sifting through incorrect stock, we had to wait a good amount of time to check out, too. We picked up two clearly marked clearance notebooks. When they rang up at five times the marked price, we just gave up since the cashier neeeed manager approval to correct the price by FORTY CENTS and we couldn't waste more time. The best part is that we still paid for one of these although we didn't actually get either. I wasn't going to sweat fifty cents and figured that customer service wouldn't believe us that we didn't get the item. I didn't notice until I was down the road, either. It's obviously the principal here and not the half dollar that is upsetting. We had used up much more time than we had for this shopping trip and still got absolutely nothing we needed, just paid extra for the experience. So, I contacted customer service online. A week later, having gotten zero response, I called the national customer service number. They were surprised that I got no call but promised that the store manager would contact me. A week later, absolutely nothing, so I called again. This time I got an apology and a promise that the regional manager would call. You guessed it, yet another week with zero resolution, and no attempt at contact. This time I was told a corporate manager would contact me, so I was truly shocked when another week went by with nothing. Finally I called and was transferred to the most argumentative, dismissive "market manager" imaginable. She interrupted me repeatedly and never apologized, just made lame excuses. I told her that it wasn't necessarily just the store experience by this point but the fact that I was waiting a MONTH for help with this and had had to contact them FOUR times. She claimed this was the first time she had been contacted but she clearly didn't care one bit. She said they were undergoing renovations.... hmm, for years, and in all departments? Even if that were true, stock and neaten the darned shelves, and ensure things ring up correctly. If someone contacts you about a bad experience, ignoring them repeatedly will NOT help. Due to this and other less bad but unfavorable experiences, I'm not only done with this store, I'm swearing off the whole chain. Halfway decent management after the fact could had a made a difference, but they clearly demonstrate that they don't care how bad things are.

Yelp
I visited this store on the 17th of June at 9am Went to purchase 2 - 7 foot ladders because they were on sale for $61 Went to cash out at the garden center and there was a 4 person line After waiting in line to cash out the casher scanned them and said they were $68 I explained to him that they had a tag where we got them from that said $61 I had to move to the side and grab the tag Then he still had trouble to find it had to wait another 5 mins for a manager. In the meantime he ran out of cash at the register and there were several upset customers Poor service here. The Manager dint even apologize

Yelp
Lack of customer service over the phone and in store I usually call this location for in store product. Every time I call here is the clerk can't hear or they never heard of the product when asking to transfer to a department, it's like they want to help you find what your looking for but then yet have an attitude when customers want to know about the product info and pricing, it's alway's they don't carry it or they don't know "i don't work in that department" if you don't know why not transfer the customers to that department and stop giving us a hard time and stop hanging up the phone. i don't know why they apply for these type of jobs they always sound like has if they just had it or it's just too much for them they always have excuses about how they perform their jobs, oh we can't or we don't know, we can't lookup an item on the computer they aren't aloud to that's ok i will shop here still but i wouldn't be calling back nor asking about products.. Their customer service is in their misery . Today about 630pm i call here to speak to someone in health and beauty department the clerk answered i ask to be transfer to health and beauty so she tells me i would have to wait a while so told her ok so then within a few minutes she hangs up so i call back to see what happen and then the clerk picks up and then hung up again so i waited a few minutes then i call back then the same clerk answered and i told her that she hung up on me then she starts going on about her telling me that they don't carry this item there's no one in that department i thought that's what i told you i mean her attitude was inpatient and rude so i told her she never told me anything you just hung up on me so she starts getting an attitude because i didn't want to talk to her i wanted someone from that department that knows the products which she didn't know didn't care neither but still wanted to know, she did went this time and look and came back said they had it I ask her for the pricing and more info she refuse to give it to me so i told her that's why I ask to be transferred to that department please then she starts getting an attitude again about her helping me and she did all she can do so told her to just transfer me please, the clerk never transferred me to anyone nor helped me has she claimed as usual she just hung up.

Yelp
I was in your Warwick Storeyesterday and I've never been treated so badly. I'm very hard of hearing and don't have a hearing aid so I'm getting ready to pay I asked your cashier to speak up he told me I shouldn't be asking people to speak up if they don't want too. He told me I should not be shopping if I'm deaf. I will never. be in your store again

Yelp
If I could give this store less then one star I would!!! Stay very clear of this store!!! The store manager Mallory allows the managers to be completely disrespectful and argumentative with customers.. the managers lie to you and Mallory doesn't do anything about it and wants to argue back with you.. manager John and Mallory do not care about professionalism or service and this is how there are going to lose customers!!! But hey what do they care it's Walmart!!! I will never step foot in this store again!!!!

Yelp
DO NOT purchase any air rifle or firearm or ammo at this stor or ANY Walmart as very deceptive practices. I purchased an air rifle and ammo to rid myself of squirrels. Whe. I return home the rifle was not as noted and malfunctioned. I attempted to return the items the next day and was abruptly told that air rifles and ammo are not returnable notwithstanding the fact that this policy was not posted or the clerk in that department failed to articulate that policy and the rifle malfunctioned. I am now out $200. This is borderline fraud. How many other items are (surprise) "non returnable?" STAY AWAY!

Yelp
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE... the employees walk at a snail pace around and watch the ONE cashier at the service desk ring out a line of people at least 10 long. There is no sense of urgency or common coutesy shown by anyone in this store! This seems to worsen around the holidays. I came into the store to return a small item and ended up waiting almost 35 mintues to reach the front of the line. To add to this experience, there were plently of other employees waqlkiing around, simply ignoring the line of irrate customers and going about their business behind the desk. This was absolutely unneccesary and I will do my best to avoid this one particular store in the future.

Yelp
This location has been around for a while and it's conveniently located near me so if I ever need anything in an pinch I go here. They've been remodeling the inside so it's a lot better than it used to be.

Yelp
This review is for the pharmacy. Not once, but TWICE they never called me to tell me my prescription came in. I waited two weeks for them to call me before I decided to call them. When I asked about it they told me they never called because (and I quote exactly) "We thought this prescription would be too expensive for you and assumed you wouldn't want it." Excuse me? That is not your job to decided about my prescriptions for me. It's your job to fill it and call me when it's ready. That's it! I will decide for myself how I want to proceed, not you. Worst customer service ever. Would not and will not ever step foot in this place for anything, especially prescriptions. Two thumbs way down. Wish I could give negative stars.

Yelp
It is love hate when it comes to WAL*MART. I go because stuff is cheap but then I feel guilty because they are awful to their workers. I go there because they have everything I need for around the house and it is so close to home but then the people there creep me out like whoa. I go because it is convient untill I have to wait in line for 20 minutes. It is no super walmart(those are like a trip to a fun park) This one is just regular type and it attracts the unregular types of people. The store is normally pretty clean and organized so I can get in and out with what I need. They did make a lot of changes last year to the layout so it is better than it has been. The parking lot is pretty large so it is not as bad as it could be getting in and out of there. It is a Walmart and you get exactly what you expect.

Yelp
Nothing spectacular about my visit. The store smelt really bad. The clearance wasn't good. They weren't well stocked. I overheard the managers telling some poor women that there was nothing they could do about her money getting stolen. The claw machines were mostly broken and would get stuck and ate my dollar, HIGHLY advise against using them. Not the best Walmart, but then again it is Walmart...

Yelp
So far waiting in the one line that is open for 16 minutes and still 3 in line. Happens all the time-- express open, self ch clout open and one lane open for all others- management needs to get their act together and staff the registers. This is why I hate coming here!

Yelp
Dirty. Most disabled wheelchairs and scooters were broken or very dirty. Whole store was dirty all three times a went. Store manager argued when i asked for something to clean wheelchair for an elderly woman... ARGUED. .. wow. Lastly most items i wanted were out of stock with employees not helpful when i asked if they could call other stores. If i had my phone with me i would have called the district manager. this store needs new management. Dirty.

Yelp
Out of the other walmart (coventry) I do like this one better. It usually always has everything I need and most things are kept up to stock. It's a walmart. So it's pretty basic.

Yelp
This is the better one than the one on post road, it's cleaner, I wish this was a superstore. It would be easier than driving to Coventry. The staff there is nice and mostly friendly
