Walrus Pub & Beer Hall

Went there for my birthday celebration with my husband, we got immediately attended to at the door to get a table, which was good. Our server came within less than a minute from us getting the table to ask if we were ready to order the drinks, clearly we didn’t even have time to glance at the menu, so we asked her for a couple minutes. We chose two beers to sample from as we weren’t familiar with the beers from their menu, and also choose fries. We waited for over 15 minutes until my husband waived around to call her so we could order. The beer samples were warm, and I get it, we’re foreigners used to very cold beer, but these were over room temp. So we chose to order fries only and go somewhere else for the beers (which we did). The place wasn’t even close to max capacity, there were 3 occupied tables (I’ve been a server to many busy restaurants and I know it wasn’t busy as they were polishing and organizing cutlery in the kitchen area) and service was subpar. Fries were good, can’t complain. But a place that named themselves “beer hall” having 12 options of draft beer plus it being warm… Anyways, it was disappointing. I rarely leave bad reviews because I know how much it can affect a business but a lot of things can be improved here…

Got a table with no wait on a saturday, ordered the pesto chicken pizza and it was great. Our server Heather had great recommendations for our table and service was fast. Good selection of non-alcoholic drinks.

Went here for a team lunch and had a great time. Excellent service by our waitress Simone. Portions and quality of food were both great, I really enjoyed the sable fish. Decent selection of beers

This is supposed to be a 1 star rating but Nana was a topnotch Manager and proactively rectified the bad service we experienced in a professional and calm manner hence in the end I have to change my rating to 3 stars. We went for their happy hour and ordered just drinks since we already had lunch in a nearby restaurant. We weren't even there for an hour when a staff member (Elan) came to us and said that we have to vacate our table in 5 mins since it was reserved for another customer. All the while this was communicated when we just ordered new set of drinks. When we asked why this wasn't mentioned by our server (Talia) prior to ordering our drinks, she got agitated and said that she doesn't want to talk to us anymore. My friend was calmly explaining to her that basically they want us to chug our drinks down in 5 mins so we can leave their restaurant which is so unreasonable. Of course we were frustrated and were swearing but not directly at her but she handled it unprofessionally. Talia should be avoided! She lacks proper customer service etiquette, very argumentative and damage the restaurant's reputation. Living and working in downtown Toronto, we pretty much dine and drink in restaurants/bars all the time. But this is the first time we have experienced this kind of inferior service. If not for Nana's professionalism and correcting the issues, we would not even give this place a second chance.

Great restaurant, excellent patio in the commerce court district. The service was great, a nice oasis away from the busy core. The happy hour menu is well priced. There isn’t much details on their website so I took their menu and photographed it. Hope it helps.

We often visit Walrus Pub & Beer hall during lunch hours or after work drinks / dinner. Its been 3 yrs now since i am visiting this place and trust me it is one my favorite. 1. The food is great 2. Drinks are good too 3. Service is always polite, friendly and fast 4. Better to call in advance to reserve to save a spot 5. Their happy hours menu is also good variety including veg options. 6. They have pool table too in lower level - great to spend time with ur frnds or colleagues

Excellent food, huge spot ! Great service. Cool atmosphere Toronto market pricing. One of the best Black and Tan pours in a long while !

While I was there for a small party and I didn't buy my own food or drink, all was excellent. The pizzas were great with perfect crust. Delicious. Appetizers were great. Beer, a great selection of IPA's after being told and not being able to hear, the waitress' suggestion was perfect. I walked in from the PATH. A good experience!
