We stayed in the Minaret Room last week, and quite frankly, I wish Tripadvisor allowed zero—or better yet, negative—stars. This was by far one of the worst lodging experiences I’ve ever had.||The room was a disaster: badly furnished, ice-cold, and with a non-functioning Wi-Fi connection. The space was cluttered with pointless, impractical furniture that seemed more decorative than usable—completely useless to any traveler with actual needs.||It was freezing when we arrived. Nobody had bothered to turn on any heating in advance. When we finally figured out how to switch on the heater, it only made things worse: unbearably loud and utterly useless. It made noise, not heat. Sleeping there felt like camping in a badly decorated refrigerator.||As for the Wi-Fi: it was advertised, but non-existent. I left a message with the lodge operator—radio silence. No callback, no follow-up, no fix. Clearly, guest comfort and basic services are not a priority here.||My advice? Don’t walk—run—in the opposite direction. Stay anywhere else. This place is an overpriced embarrassment.

Beware! I really don’t understand how this place gets such good reviews (on which I based my booking) They say they welcome feedback. But basically call you a liar on all the comments you give. The most important one: that they cannot be reached about anything you experience during your stay. They don’t answer the phone or call back on several left messages. And apparently they DO have the time to write a long epistle on a review on a booking site after you’ve left. Things can happen, but how you handle it reflects the respect (or lack of it) you have for you customers. I did not:”mentioned it was the worst room you’ve ever stayed in” I gave the whole experience a 5/10. The room was not that bad, it was mainly your lack off responding and afterwords your reaction, in which you state my issues are untrue. I stay in hundreds of rooms a year of al kind of classes so I guess I can give an accurate review.

This place was so lovely that I ended up booking an extra night! The room was beautiful, and the view was amazing. Just a heads up, there are large bumblebees right outside the window, and with no fly screens, it’s hard to let fresh air in comfortably. Other than that, I highly recommend it!

Our recent stay at Alpine View Lodge in Wanaka was a mixed experience. The location, nestled on the edge of Wanaka, offered both convenience and tranquillity. The lodge sits on a nice property, surrounded by stunning mountain views.|Unfortunately, the fireplace in our cottage didn't work, which was disappointing. Whilst this may not be an issue during summer, it made for a cold stay during winter as the single air-conditioner took a long time to warm the cottage.|For the price, compared to other similar properties, we felt the furnishings were on the budget end, which whilst practical, was disappointing.|The Alpine View Lodge offers a peaceful retreat with a few drawbacks. If you're looking for a quiet escape in Wanaka, it's worth considering, but be prepared for some minor inconveniences.

This property was not what we expected and is not worth the price paid. After trying to contact the owner/reception multiple times via phone, message and visiting the reception at check-in, we made the difficult decision to stay else due the accomodation being poor and disappointing. The owner is not pleasant or understanding to deal with once we finally got a response from them (after booking somewhere else - 2.5 hours after check-in). Driving into the property, you first see a shed/storage area full of clutter (as per photo). Walking into the room (Cardrona split level studio), the first thing we saw was a rusty old air con sitting outside (as per photo). There was also green electrical tape covering a switch (as per photo). The shower head was held up with hair tie. We are deeply disappointed by this accomodation. We would not recommend it to anyone wishing for an ‘alphine view’ stay.

This little hideaway has everything you need to be comfy. The location and views are great. To be so close to Wanaka, but in a tranquil quiet spot is perfect. Check-in is simple, facilities are modern and nothing is cheaped out on. I'd stay here again and for even longer!

We only had one night at the Alpine View Lodge. Would have loved to stay longer as Wanaka is a great place to visit. We had a very comfortable room and breakfast, round one large table, was excellent. Craig and Michelle are great hosts and we spent so long chatting over breakfast that we didn't get away until 10.00.

The place is very well equipped with everything from a coffee pod machine to a towel warmer in the bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable as well, which to me is the most important thing. Only a 5min drive in to the main area as well. Great value for money overall, would highly recommend.
