Wanaka Homestead Lodge and Cottages

The homestead lodge was amazing, 100% recommend. Great location, easy to walk to lake trail and town. The rooms and services are great, from the bikes to ride around, laundry, games, fire place, has everything you need, rooms comfy. But the best thing was the host Allan was amazingly friendly and gave the best local recommendations, he will tailor his recs to what you want to do, he definitely made our trip to Wānaka. He also helped us change plans the day we left when the weather turned and based on his advice we had an amazing adventure we wouldn’t have otherwise. This place was wonderful.

Nothing but great things to say! The lodge is beautiful, in an absolutely perfect location close to the lake and walkable to restaurants. The hot tub and guest laundry, *real* coffee, and lounging areas were wonderful. More than the amenities though, our experience is thanks to the host, Allan, who gave us excellent recommendations for places to eat and hike, lent us bikes to ride around the lake (saved a lot of money and hassle not having to rent them), and helped rescue our travel plans when we found out the highway to Milford was going to be closed. Absolutely recommend Wanaka Homestead!

Stop looking for accommodation in Wanaka. Just go ahead and book the Wanaka Homestead Lodge and Cottages. My partner and I stayed in May 25. Allan the owner/manager was very helpful, offering loads of information for dining and experiencing the local area. The Lodge is located within a short stroll to the center of town and close to nearby walking trails and parks. There is a beautiful cosy loungeroom, hot tub and laundry all for free guest use. The rooms are clean and have homely touches. Do not hesitate to book this accommodation. I highly recommend the stay.

We were blown away by the hospitality here. Beautiful lodge with warm stove for the cool evenings. Short walk past redwoods to that Wānaka tree! Great local walks with views up Mt Iron and drives up the lake too. We only planned 1 night but extended to 2. Wānaka itself is a charming little town with plenty of pubs and eateries - well worth a stop if you’re touring New Zealand!

Absolutely adored our stay at the Wanaka Homestead. Gabi met us and gave so many great recommendations, she is so warm and lovely. The facilities were great, fireplace and hot tub especially lovely on a cold winter night. So close to the lake and an easy walk into town. Definitely hope to be back some day.

A perfectly run, professional, and welcoming place with a personal touch.|We spent three wonderful days in the Western Room and the shared lounge at Wanaka Homestead.|Beautiful local design, all green, just a minute from Wanaka’s lake and a lovely park — only a 15-minute walk (or 2-minute drive) from the town center and its shops.

This was a unique but welcomed travel experience. It was like you were staying in someone's comfortable home, and with more privacy. We were impressed they had central air conditioning. The buildings were clean and of the "craftsman" style. Free laundry. Very nice "living room" with books about the islands. This was a friendly cozy change from the standard hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Homestead. Tania welcomed us warmly and took time to share all the information we needed to make the most of our stay. The propery is in a lovely location adjacent to parkland and a lakeside walk. There are many amenties for guests both inside and outside. Our bedroom in the lodge was beautiful and comfortable. Highly recommend.
