Wanakarn Resort & Pool Villas Phuket

We had the most amazing seven nights at Wanakarn as part of our honeymoon trip. The attention to detail, fine food and extremely friendly staff were all highlights for us. The intimate nature of the resort means that staff know your name and get to know your meal preferences, they often knew what we wanted to order before we asked. We loved the tranquility throughout the resort, even at the main pool area. Our villa was spotless and extremely comfortable. My husband loved the outdoor shower! We were sad to leave this special place and I think we will remember forever how we felt when we were there.||Thank you to everyone we encountered during our stay and to everyone who was working behind the scenes to ensure our stay was so pleasurable.

We have just left Wanakarn after spending five wonderful days at this lovely resort where we were truly pampered. From the moment we were met at Phuket Airport by our driver in a luxurious S Class mercedes to being able to move into our room so early in the morning until our final goodbyes and the organization of being met by the driver of our next transfer, we were well and truly looked after.||Our villa was very comfortable with everything that we would need already provided for so that we never needed to ask for anything. Fresh fruit was provided every day and each night at turndown we were given a small surprise. When we left yesterday we were given a small box of chocolates each.||The food was delicious as is expected of a Chateau and Relais establishment and on our last night, we were served a lovely surprise dessert with words such as "We hope you will return" or something similar. These extra touches show that nothing is missed in the running of the Resort. The General Manager, Matt Barrie, is definitely hands on as we saw him at all mealtimes as he came around to make sure we were all enjoying ourselves. ||With only 15 villas, it is never too crowded and of course you get to chat to most guests which makes for a memorable stay.||Of course a Resort is only as good as its staff and unfortunately I can only remember a few names such as Juliette in Guest Services, Leila on Reception and the wonderful waiting staff which included Robinson and Warren from the Philippines who were on a cadetship plus everyone else we came in contact with. Nothing was too much trouble. ||Wanakarn Beach Resort has set the bar for service and hospitality as well as luxury. It will be hard to beat.

What to say!! We stayed at Wanakarn earlier this month, the resort far surpassed anything we expected. From the moment we arrived to the smiling face of Gayle to the moment we left we were made to feel welcome. Our villa was fantastic with everything any one could want or need, every afternoon fresh fruits were delivered to the villa, and housekeeping twice a day. The resort it’s self is perfectly attended to, the pool, restaurant, gym, and the beach beautiful, the gardens so pretty. The food was lovely with the cook checking often that all was OK. The wait staff, always smiling and could not do enough to make sure our stay was perfect. We have been to many resort and never have we had the GM come out every day just to say hi. This place is fantastic, we can’t recommend it highly enough. Keep up the good work everyone you were delightful to spend 12 days with. Catherine Kirk

It is difficult to fault this resort. The villa is beautifully appointed with lots of thoughtful touches (thongs, sarongs, well maintained bikes) all complimentary. The pool is very good. The kitchen maintains an exceptionally high standard. The croissants were perfect. It is very remote and though you can take a bike ride to the local village, it is a hike and definitely not walking distance. There are no easy options to eat outside the resort in the evening, so you can feel a bit of a captive audience. There is no nightlife or evening entertainment. We love taking a beach walk each morning and were very disappointed to see so much plastic on the beach and no effort to clean it up. In July the surf is rough here and beach swimming not really an option. There is a reasonable gym which badly needs better air con or fans.

We spent 5 nights at the resort towards the end of our honeymoon and it was the best way to finish off our perfect holiday! The resort was brilliant and all the employees were fantastic! Especially to the new waiters Warren and Robinson! They provided excellent service! The food was amazing and the location was to die for! It was quiet, clean and perfect in every sense. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it!

We have been for a few days in Wananakarn Resort and it was the best experience we ever had.||First the staff: friendly, helpful, warm and happy! Made us feel at home from the very beginning.||The location in front line to the sea, with a small river in between that one crosses with a small boat, is perfect. Plenty of kilometers of sandy beach for yourself!||The restaurant, both for breakfast or lunch/dinner, is superb. Either international or Thai the food was great. You eat with stunning views to the sea, incredible. They even have a afternoon Tea Time Event great experience.||We were offered a small excursion canoeing to a temple just 20 minutes away. It was like being in another world.||Everything you want is there. If you want peace and relax just do it. If you want some action like excursions to the famous islands they are there less than an hour away.||My family, my wife and my 3 daughters, are just thinking in coming back. Thanks to the manager Mathhew and all the Wanakarn people, we'll see you again.

Wanakarn was everything we had hoped for and more. From check in to checkout it was faultless. It was a hidden gem and a perfect getaway to really unwind and relax. A beautiful resort, our pool villa was sensational. It was so spacious, clean and very relaxing, especially the decor. You could easily spend the day chilling out in the villa and enjoying the room and pool, or by the resort pool or just chilling on the beautiful daybeds with a view of the river and ocean. Our room was serviced twice a day, you always received a good night treat and water was always stocked up. The fabulous bar and restaurant, where they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, was such a warm environment, you became familiar with all staff and guests. It was very intimate. The food was an absolute delight and great range of choices if staying all week, we have 5 nights, which was not near long enough! You also had a wonderful view. Wanakarn is quite remote, you are about a 15 mins cycle to the nearest town (each villa is provided bikes), so we spent our time taking advantage of being remote and spent our time on the resort. If you fancy Tennis there was also a court available, or a spa which had heavenly massages, best Thai massage ever! The staff were exceptional from check in, housekeeping to restaurant staff, always loved to have a chat and nothing was too much, a special thank you to the bar staff for the best cocktails ever! Upon departure we were pleasantly surprised with the gorgeous Mercedes to deliver us to the airport, along with a surprise gift from the team for our flight. A huge thank you to the whole team and we highly recommend this resort for a stay to remember in Phuket.

Most of what needs to be said has already been said by earlier writers who have stayed at this truly remarkable resort. Wanakarn provides an ideal place to completely relax, to be pampered by a wonderful, friendly staff, to enjoy the comforts of your own pool or to use the large main pool with its swim up bar as an alternative, to enjoy the privacy of your own beach or to relax by the quite stream which flows through the resort, to retire to your own large spotlessly clean villa which has all the modern amenities and nestles in a beautiful tropical garden or, best of all, to enjoy the amazing food prepared by Michelin standard chefs. We have stayed at many fine resorts in Asia over a number of years and without doubt, Wonakarn is the best we have ever stayed in.||||Many thanks to Matt and all his team for making our holiday so memorable.
