Amazing hospitality, 100% would stay again if in the area. We chose car camping because our set up is pretty self contained. We used their showers, laundry, and kitchen area. It was like being at home. Several people were staying all very friendly. They have thought of all the amenities you could need for a stop on a long road trip. Felt very safe and everything was super clean.

Booked a tent pad and ended up getting the one that is on the front area of the hostel but off towards the bushes/back end and not the front door, which was great because it was not loud and we slept great. The hostel itself was great too, with a large bathroom and shower upstairs and large fully stocked kitchen to cook meals. Everyone there was so friendly and the owner was so kind, giving us so much info about the area. Highly recommend, especially if you get one of the tent pads further from the parking/front door area!

This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in in my entire life! Martin is so warm and welcoming and knowledgeable about everything in the area and then some. He's also done a lot of traveling in Latin America as well, which we spent lots of time talking about. The hostel has indoor bunks available as well as outdoor tents. I stayed in the outdoor tent and it was really nice and warm as there was a heater and luckily I was the only one in it for one of the nights I stayed there. The other night I camped to my tent on one of the platforms which was really nice. There's a really, really nice shower in the upstairs bathroom and plenty of bathrooms for everyone who is staying. Even if the hostel is full. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything. You would need to cook anything really as well as plenty of food that other travelers have left. Overall, the hustle has a great vibe with great volunteers and Martin. The owner is also super cool guy. Wish we could have talked more about climbing in Bolivia as well as climbing here in Canada. Can't wait to come back!

I don't recommend the tent, but I DO recommend the rest of the hostel! Two of us & our dog stayed in one of the canvas tents for $130 CAD at the end of May. The person running the front desk was super helpful and friendly, the kitchen well-kept and everything we needed, and the common areas are beautiful. The bathrooms are clean and private. It's a lovely house. The bedding was all clean & warm enough, we found the mattresses comfy, and there was plenty of parking. Earplugs provided. I do not recommend the tents because you hear all of the traffic noise, the neighbors' conversations & gatherings, and other travelers' noises. They're right out front of the house where other guests run up and down the stairs and talk a bunch, so we didn't sleep well except in the wee morning hours. That made our stay a 3-star stay.

I’m hesitant to put a bad review about Wanderers Inn because we had a wonderful stay for one night in August. However, I have been waiting for my refund for the double charges since September. I have been emailing back and forth and spoke to Martin the owner. I was promised to resolve it as soon as his accountant is back from vacation yet until now I haven’t heard back from him. I understand it was an honest mistake, nevertheless they should refund me for what they owed if they care about their customers.

Large and modern building. Easy access to all the things you would need. Ice cream shop nearby, Bakery deluxe across the Alaska highway a few blocks Wheel chair accessible. Many choices of accommodation, all very clean and inviting. All hostels should be like this and by the way, kind and cheerful staff which is always appreciated.

My private room was comfortable and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. The fan in the room didn’t work, and when I reported it they found another one immediately. Everything was clean, encouraged by friendly reminders for guests to keep things tidy for the benefit of all. Gorgeous location.

We didn't stay here; we paid $5 each for a shower as we were staying at a local campground. Best.Shower.Ever. Nice open room; rainshower showerhead; view of the mountains; great pressure; non-stop hot water; nice towels included. Go to the upstairs bathroom for the views!

Yelp
There is a bot giving this place all the 5 star Google reviews. When looking more closely at the 180 google reviews, giving this an overall 4.9 rating, in one day there were 30, 5 star ratings, mostly with NO comments. Mostly NOT in English. This place doesn't house 30 people in a day. And even if it did...every single person reviewed it? They allow smoking inside. The owner smokes. So does employee #1. They both stink of cigarettes and #1 has that constant hackers cough. Walking around, constantly hacking. Eek. We stayed in "the shed" after a smoker was there. Good thing we travel with a candle for stinky rooms. Room is incredibly small (really hard for 2 people to change at the same time), and NOT very clean (we sacrificed a towel to put on the floor so we would be stepping on clean). There are only 2 full bathrooms (NO separate sink or toilets). So, if you have "to go", or want to brush your teeth during the time when 2 people are showering, you are SOL. Upstairs, they could easily wall off (partial wall already there) between the shower and commode/sink, and add in a pocket door. So, with minimal cost, it would greatly help with the congestion. At the very least, the employees should shower (and blow dry their hair in the bathroom) during a non peak time. In asking how many max people can stay here. There was a long convo (in French) between #1 and another employee. After much discussion and counting of beds by room, they decided on...20. Really? You work here and don't know this? There are 3 employees (2 of which whistle, non stop. Ahem.), always there, sitting around. It's very odd...none of them seem to have a vehicle, and they just watch ?? (videos or whatever) without ear buds, prepare/cook/eat food, or sit outside next to the open front door and smoke. The house has minimal windows and when it's warm outside, it's stifling inside, especially upstairs. Sitting downstairs or outside also isn't appealing with the cigarette smoke. There are NOT many places to sit, especially with 3 employees take up a third of them. The photo is the pile of garbage sitting next to the back door, that was there for our entire stay. I suggest to stay in one of the great Yukon campgrounds (which I didn't know about), than here. Go to the new large Visitor Center for clean water, many clean toilets and sinks, and free WiFi.

Yelp
This hostel provided an incredible experience, it is the best hostel I have stayed at. The owners are friendly, relaxed and helpful! We spent a few days here before and after climbing Mt. Logan. The hostel is extremely clean, well kept and vibrates with a warm-home feeling. The beds are comfy and the kitchen is large and complete. I only wish I had more time to stay!

Yelp
Awesome place, we were very happy to have found it - and that it's open year-round!! Its a comfortable, clean and cozy hostel, nice full kitchen and showers, ample lounge space, music instruments, lovely visits with other guests, great location and the owners took extra effort to provide a lot of helpful local and trip information. We would recommend it to any other travellers, visitors and cylists to the Kluane and the Haines Junction, Yukon area.
