Wanha Waskoolimies

We went during low season and around 3pm, were really happy that the kitchen is open (lots of places close at 3pm for lunch). The lamb and reindeer burger was so yummy and the fries were out of this world! Crispy outside and fluffy inside. The chicken wings were really good too! We really liked the interior of the restaurant too. So charming!

Discovered this hidden place and what a gem it was. Friendly service despite near closing time and for the food - The bread and salmon soup were really good starters but what spoiled us were the artic char fish and pork belly! The pork belly skin was expertly charred on the outside but the meat and fat underneath was moist, juicy and tender. A pity our schedule would not permit us to pass this way again but if you are in the area, do check it out and if you have time, spend more time and warm with a hot beverage by the cosy little fireplace. We cannot recommend enough!

The perfect, cosy cabin in the woods for a warming drink, interesting gold mining history and an almost wild west vibe.

An amazing lunch! The pork and mushroom soup were both excellent, the service was friendly and present. We fell in love with this place instantly. An interesting piece of history in the mining of gold in Lapland.

Stopped for coffee and cake and it was a good choice. Very old style and lots of interesting things to see. We even had a reindeer come and sit outside the window while we ate. The lady was very friendly and we could have free refills.

Absolutely perfect little restaurant/cafe tucked away just off the main road. I was cycling to NorthCape Norway & this place probably saved the day!! Great service and friendly atmosphere.
