Want List Records is a true gem in the local vinyl community! Brian and Dave are incredibly welcoming, and the shop genuinely reflects their passion for music. Highly recommend stopping by to explore their thoughtfully curated selection, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to keep coming back to!

Want List Records is an awesome addition to Belmont!💖 The owners purchase and sell a wide variety of albums & CDs, and they have turn tables so you can listen to them in the store too. Record shopping again was so much fun, & it feels warm & welcoming inside with the artist gallery too. Go visit!🎶💽🎶

Times like this, I wish there were a 6th star. Although I've only been to this establishment twice, my experience each time has been outstanding. All thanks to Brian, one of the two owners. He's helped me both times. Since childhood one of my many unaccomplished life goals has been to own a used record store. As music, especially live or 2nd best, listened to on vinyl has always been one of my great interests/passions. All that to say, if I ever was to own a used record store, I would model it after Want List Records . Then I would run that shop much like Brian & Dave run theirs. As the old adage goes, "Good things come in small packages." For all you vinyl-heads, this place is a REAL gem.

Great communication! Dave got in touch with me soon after I emailed. And Brian arrived on time to check out our record collection. We felt good about selling to him because he is very knowledgeable and truly appreciated our music. They also sell used music at reasonable prices . We liked their business ethics. You will too! 👍👍

I recently set up a record player at home to play some of my parent's old records they purchased during the 60s and 70s. My son took an interest in my mother's old copy of the "Sound of Music" soundtrack. I took him to visit Want List Records to see if he could pick up his first record and start his own collection. One of the owners was kind enough to dig up a crate of old children's records for us to browse and listen to. He also set up a stand for my son to use at one of the listening stations near the back of the store. We settled on a copy of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" (and another bargain bin record for myself) and went to purchase the albums. The owners refused to accept our money and ended up gifting the records to me and my son. It was a really special moment! Really great owners and nice to have this store be part of the local community.

My favorite type of used record store: well-curated, multiple genres, careful to note condition of their stock, and friendly owners. Every visit here, I find great stuff to take home. They get my highest recommendation.

Yelp
Amazing store. I am so glad Want List Records came to Belmont. I have been starting my vinyl collection, as well as buying CDs that I can rip to my collection. Great place to explore music if you are a music lover. Great addition to Belmont. They have a great selection of soul, reggae, Hip-Hop, Rock, and Jazz. And Brian and Dave are great!

Yelp
Cool store for used (1970s & 1980s) records from the genres rock, jazz, rap, reggae, international. They have a record player for customers that want to listen before they buy. Careful selling records if you want a good deal. I personally lost money selling some of mine, but if you want to sell some records quick or trade them, it's a good place to do so. Prices are usually 15-25 dollars a pop, but some are cheaper than $10. Lots of 45s, too. Take what you want from this, but I think this is a good record store in general if you prefer smaller businesses.

Yelp
Brian and Dave at "Want List Records" are both great guys. They have a deep affection for quality vinyl and it shows in how they run their business. This is not a place to go for "dollar bin" records but rather for a cleaned and curated quality selection. It's a small shop and they have limited hours but worth the effort to visit.

Yelp
I love this record store - great selection, good conversation about music you love and music you didn't know about. Find a mint version of your old favorite and something great that just arrived. Nice vibe in a cool part of Belmont with a cafe a few steps away.

Yelp
This is the record store I've been looking for in greater Boston. It's all used vinyl (as far as I could tell) and very well curated. The owners are kind and helpful, and they clearly have high standards for grading and selection. I really appreciated the bin of heavily used records by the entrance, where I found several excellent jazz albums at affordable prices. Plus, they have a turntable with headphones where you can audition albums before you buy -- something I haven't seen since Encore Records in Ann Arbor.
